Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. You are tuned into the Vitamin D with Thorn Day Podcast And if you haven't guessed it already, I'm your host, Dawn Day, here to get too excited about your life so that you can live life on purpose and for a purpose. And if this is your first time tuning gaining welcome, I'm so glad to have you. Let me tell you right now, Vitamin D is a multi vitamin for your mind, your body, and your soul. Um. It's a part of my name.

You know, my name is Dawn and you get Vitamin D from the sun. So I'm here to shed light into your life. And I do this with inspirational insights and conversations with celebrities and every day people like you and me. But I'd like to give this clearance each and every time on every episode is to understand when it comes to the Vitamin D with Dawn Day Podcast, is it's about shed of light on a good and a bad or and they're not so good. Because if you want to be better and you want to do better,

you gotta be able to see better. You're gonna have to call yourself out on your staff or you're junk, smell the things that don't smell so good. So either you know where you don't want to go or you know what you want to be. Either way, we're talking about a three sixty of you. Can you dig it? And if you're returning, thank you. I appreciate you, I see you, I feel you, I do It means a lot. I say this all the time that with vitamin d uh, this is a journey with myself as well. I'm figuring

out things, I'm understanding things. I'm realizing how many things I probably don't have the answers to but ultimately and uh, wanting to figure it out. But that's what comes with living. And when we think about living, that's a source of movement. And in movement, I guess the first thing that I come it comes to mind it's like water. You ever know that water is constantly moving and when it's not moving, it's like dark, it's muddy. You really can't see through it.

And I guess that's why they say let's be like water, let's be fluid, let's move um. They also say it's the sheer indicator of life. I mean, we're we're eighty percent water. So if you haven't guessed it already. I want to talk to about some water. I'm gonna talk to you about some water today. Actually, I'm gonna talk

to you about one of my favorite songs. It's called Oceans and it's by Hillsong United UM a church, and we just we're called to dive in a little bit of faith because I was talking to a friend over the weekend and I played this song for her, and I feel like a lot of people understanding what it means to have your faith and what it means to be like water. So let's dive into it. So, without further ado, it's time for your dose of vitamin damin. D right with me and get excited about You know,

music has always spoken to me. I probably had a sheer indicator of the relationship of music with myself or with me In high school. I went to a all Catholic school. I shouldn't say all Catholic. I went to a Catholic school and it was all girls school, Mercy High School, Farmington Hills. One of the things that we

had this program for like seniors and juniors. It was called Cairos now initially as a senior trip, but if you were fortunate you were selected to be a cairo's leader, and therefore you went your junior year with the current seniors who were above you. And then it so happens that when you become a senior, you become a leader for your year. Well, if you haven't guessed it, yeah,

that was me. I was a cairo's leader. And we had to um figure out what our symbol was and what that was is like what was that thing that we stood by that represents us. Some people was a bird, some people may have been the sun. Well mine was a music note. And while we let our group, we said different prayers, we did meditation, we we did these different workshops. There was also a time we had to do a talk. And I always go back and I say, Vita mun d was birth and New York under the comforter,

But perhaps it was way before that. See, with myself, music has always had a way of speaking to me. It has always been something that has carried me through uh a happy, sad, egg good bad times of my life. Music has been my instrument of peace truly. Um So, in my senior year, I chose the music note, and it was because music was always my gateway to be free. At the time, there was so much going on. But I guess whatever could see him a lot to somebody

in high school, what seventeen eighteen years old? Um, And a song that I related to a lot was a song Caged Bird by Alicia Keys. And the reason why I'm putting the comparison of what I'm talking about the symbol of my music note and I thought about Alicia keys cage Bird is that she says, sometimes I feel like a bird caged without a key. The only joy comes from a song, So why not just set her free? And for a while I felt like my joy was

with music. It was my way to express what I felt, UM to be what I wanted to be, UM, to really just get my emotions out because I was always viewed or I am always viewed as someone as strong, UM got it together. So it kind of leaves you a little bit of room to uh, I guess, to be human, to be in a space where you may not know or you're trying to figure out maybe you can relate. Uh. You know, Beyonce says, who saves the hero?

After she saves the world? Everybody needs somebody. But that's why I think I and I reverted to so many songs and that talk um of just different things that have carried me through, different things that I fought, that pushed me through. And as I was saying, I was talking to a friend like, you know, we all there's so many ships happening. I've been talking to so many

people and they're like, man, that shifts. You know. I talked about in the previous episode about this pruning season that I feel like I'm in the season where like things and different people's are falling away. But I know that is right because I see God on folded in my life. Look, I'm talking to you right now in

Sherman Oaks, California. So, whether the vitamin D started out in high school during Kiros or like I say, underneath the comforter in New York, right now, I'm in Sherman Oaks, California, and it took me. It took me some time to get here. Literally and figuratively. Uh. Literally in the sense of, you know, getting to the point of comfortable to say, Hey,

I am about to go out here for these dreams. Uh. Figuratively in the sense of having a different or true understanding or another level of an understanding of when what it means when your feet will fail, really let your faith stand. And I thought about the song Oceans a powerful song because I think for a lot of people, if you got a dream and the dream doesn't always have to be a career, that's what That's what means a lot to me in my life. I'm not married, Um,

I'm not in a relationship. I don't have any children. So my next thing is my dream. I shouldn't say my next thing. My thing is my dreams. And whether your dream is your family, whether it's working out, um, whether it's becoming a famous artist, a writer, a producer, a scientist, a new or surgeon, heck and astronaut, whatever it is. I want you to listen to what I got to say, Um, what we're going out to these dreams.

You realize that you're figuring out as you go, like there's no road map as to how how you get there, because it's your path and the only thing that you know that you have to go after is one it in front of the other. It's that consistent moving the same thing. I'm talking about oceans. But there's this thing because there isn't a blueprint as to works goes or not.

A lot of people can tell you how to get there because the vision came to you and they can't see what you can see if you did what I'm saying. And so it comes to a point that you really have to put a reliance on yourself. Well that's where Oceans comes in, because in this pursuit of our best life, our favorite life, or the life that we desire um, a lot of things can come our way, a lot of things that may seem unsurmountable, a lot of things that may seem like it's trying us, and you just

know you gotta get to the other side. But checked this, I don't know if you're battling the cancer. I don't know if you just gotta let go from your job. I don't know if you're breaking up in your relationship, whatever it is, it's a moment of having that faith. And you know, oftentimes you're hearing you refer to a lot of things like in the Scripture and the Bible, and you also hear me say at the same token

that I'm not a Christian. I don't subscribe to Christianity, but what I do subscribe to is the truth and the Word and the principles, Um, and you got to realize that the truth comes in different shades. It doesn't mean that it's incorrect. It just depends on whichever lens that you're looking at it from or through. Then whichever angle you're looking at it with, and depending on how you feel, depending on your growth or your your area life, it will determine the shade or the filter that's on

your lens. Well, here's the thing, Like I said, whatever you're going through right whatever it seems like, Oh my gosh, I'm not gonna be able to make it. It reminds me of the story of Moses, which is gonna lead me to oceans. When it came down to me, UM, in a state of once are ready to leave my job, I remember thinking to myself off because I was like,

what am I to do? I was like, you know, all these years I worked at this point to get to the number one show, and here I am about to step away because I know the vision that God gave to me. I know what it is that I'm going after. And I'm like, it's the middle of a pandemic, or pandemic that means everybody is getting let go. So many people are dying. The opportunity seem like zero to none right, right, But for whatever it's in me, reminds me of the story of Moses, because here was an army,

a group of people in mind. You, I don't know the whole story verbatim, but I'm even as just okay, so we can understanding relates. You got all these people behind you, right, and then there's nothing but water. Now. I don't know if you've ever been on a cruise ship or been at the wave pooler just to a point where the water is insurmountable. From as far as I can see, there's just water. Now. Look, you gotta imagine that you're on your feet. You gotta imagine that

in that water. Depending on what kind of water it is, you got shunks, you got wells, you got acto push I'm talking about animals in the water that's probably as big as some of these buildings out here. Catch what I'm saying, and you, if we were to put a comparison upon these animals are probably like a like the size of our our pinky compared to our femur, which is the largest bone in our body. Right, there is a little bitty thing or how about the baby toe,

and here it is Moses. He's standing there and he's looking like I gotta get to the other side. I think we all should be a little bit like Moses. Right because I say this because whatever it is, looking at how far that, how wide, how deep the water is, there was no other point to go through. So that lets you know that whatever it is that you're experiencing, it's not like somebody hasn't experienced it before. It's not

like somebody hasn't gone through it. So to think that it's just you in this isolated process, that oh my gosh, the woe was me and how could this happen to me?

No one else has experiences how dare you? Because while this story is not the same now, while this story may not be forbade them true as far as a man splitting the ocean or the sea, but it's to tell you about what's possible, about what you can do when you have no other choice to go through, and how you literally have to move that way in your life because when something is calling you, you gotta go.

So that leaves me, okay, move it over to oceans, Like I said, that water right as far as you can see And the only way I can describe of those who feel as though they gotta go out to the ocean, it's because there's a pool inside of you that you can't control. You can't contain it. It's almost like somebody has their hands over your neck and you're

trying to breathe. That's all you're fighting for. So when you're looking at this idea of oceans, and we're gonna go back and forth with the lyrics, right, you called me out upon the waters, the great unknown, where my feet may fail, and there I find you in the mystery and oceans deep. My faith will stand our entire life. Right, we know that if we stand, we stand upon our feet. But could you imagine what it's like to stand without your feet? What do I mean by that? We'll shoot?

The only other way is I guess, like flying, but to literally getting to the point where your feet actually may feel with your feet may give out. But that's what you call faith. That's what you call faith when everything around you was telling you one thing, which you know, you gotta move forward. And just like they're saying, you gotta find God in the mystery, because even when you can't figure out and how oceans are d How many people do you know have been to the bottom of

the ocean. Huh, what the existence is? That's how deep it is? Right, and God is like, yo, I'm calling you for your best life. I'm calling you for your dreams. But you're gonna have to meet me out there. I didn't say you had an oxygen pack. I didn't say that you were with the four crew, because remember, this vision came to you. Whatever it is, the kind of life that you want, but you still gotta go. Then out in the oceans, it says, I will call upon

your name and keep my eyes above the waves. You know, it's the whole thing where you gotta say. But God, and my cousin I died earlier this year in January, and uh, we were talking about something. We were talking about how in life, anytime you put anything before God, that but God, it becomes negated. It's obsolete. It doesn't matter. You hear it all the time. I don't know how I was gonna make it, but God. I didn't think I was gonna survive but God. I didn't think I

was gonna make it in time but God. But then you notice that when you put God first everything becomes an end and then I you know, I talked about how you know it's kind of similar to the cross because it's like an addition sign. It's like the yes end in your life. Right, But here's a thing. You go out there because you're feeling like your call but still in the midst of everything, that doesn't stop the seasons from changing, that still doesn't stop life from happening,

and understanding how you have to coexist on that. So what happens you quit your job and you've got some health issues? What happens you quit your job and what God forbids you getting an accident? What happens well? And the lyrics of the song is saince I keep my eyes above the wave. When oceans rise, my soul will

rest in your embrace. What so not only going after your dreams from as far as your eye can see, right, not only you stepping out there not knowing exactly how you're going to survive, but knowing that you are being called out there? Now the times a're moving because you know we talked about with water doesn't stop moving, especially as the sun goes Now, you know, the times get higher and the waves they start the clash is just so much moving. But in despite of whatever you're going through,

you gotta keep your eyes above the waves. And even as you keep your eyes of other ways, there's a whole sense of that peace be still that you hear about. And I guess I just don't really think a lot of people understand how important it is to keep the vision of life. See they said keep your eyes above the waves. See I'll receive that. You gotta keep your

eyes on the prize. You gotta keep your eye on the vision because there's a lot of things that are trying to deter your vision, try to distract your vision, things that try to shadow onto your vision, things that will try to hinder your vision. But seeing your vision sees beyond your eyes. It's it's beyond what is exactly in front of you. It is the vision, the prelude to your best life. So then it becomes what do you want? What do you really want in your life?

And it's a testament to your faith because when you're out there right and you gotta just call on just but God, you have to call on God for whatever the situation. And it could be God, and this guy could be the God and you whatever it is, that it's your driving sports that you gotta call in a situation. But God, that's faith. But comes back to how bad dude you want it, Because as the Clark's sister said, I'm just resting in my father's hands. I'm resting in

that piece. You gotta rest in your peace about what you want for your life and stop making excuses about why it seems so hard, because we're all a sman fishing this ocean right, swimming fronction air nor we gotta keep moving, understanding while we can go how we can

still go deep. So what you're gonna do? We can't keep squawling or screaming out the whole wall was me even in the moments of when you feel as though you cannot make it, he said, But God, it says that you're gonna call out the name right, and that just reminds me of how you have to remember that death and life are in the power of the time.

You have to choose to speak life over yourself and understanding that when you are faced with different adversities, when you are faced with the fact of you going out in this wide ocean right where it doesn't seem like you, you could not make it, although eight of your body is made from water, although that water is the indicator of life. You have to remind yourself of the plans the God set for your life, or the plans that you have for your life. You know, I'm you know,

I'm a god. Yeah. Yeah. And sometimes it's always talking about the God and me, the God and you about what is the power that you have for you in your life? What are you willing to step out on so that you can live your best life? Spirit, leave me when my trust is with out borders, Let me walk upon the waters wherever you will call me. Gosh, dang it, how many of you are out there? Or how about you? Are you out there not listening to?

God has something you to do? Are you Let me rephrase that, are you out there not listening to what your true passion is? That's the God in you, That's who I'm referring to. And you have to have that trust and ability that when you step with one foot, another foot is coming in front of the other. There's a possibility for you to keep going and to keep moving, to keep pressing. And it's just a challenge. If you got to pick up your staff and move. That is

the test meant of your faith. You can sink or swim what do you want? And I think it's so interesting too, are not interesting? You know? What I love about it as well is that when God we go through these things and challenges, sometimes we gotta have it all knocked out, so you can only say, is but God? So there's no other reliance and you only know if you've been through some things. It ain't something that everybody

can tell you. People can tell you from references. Hey, you can look at today's age, and we know what God has been doing every other time before that, the time before that, and the time before that, references upon references and every tongue and every language in all four corners of the earth. Yet we still have this whole idea what will trust references over? You know what has been prophesiesed and talked to us our entire life. But you understand that that feeling in those references and how

that in racist and know that somebody got you. And then in the lyrics of oceans they say, what does it say for I am yours and you are mine? Check it if they want an other And God got you, you think he ain't got you. Check what I'm saying. If they're one or the other and God got you, do you think he doesn't got you? You coexist in one another, right, So then it becomes about what is your faith and what do you want? What will your faith be? Well? Are you gonna let your faith say?

How long are you going away? How many excuses? I only say that because time is ticking tick talk. I don't care which angle or whatever you're going through. It's always somebody's ocean. There's things in the water that you're not gonna be able to see. There's giants in there. There are probably times your size. But when you got stories and you talk about what MO was, this words to separates. You gotta walk with your affirmation, your confirmation of knowing who you are and knowing who you are

and the ability that you have over your life. You check it with me because I just, I just it just don't make sense to me that you've got something that's calling on you and you're wasting time and you're not doing it. You do understand that you're going to die. You do understand that there are only so many excuses to make You do understand that you are not the only person that has been this predicament that you didn't know how you were going to get out of it.

You do understand there are people with testimonies that say, but God. You do understand that there are people who said impossible and turned it into impossible. You do understand that greater is he who was in me that he was in the world. You do understand that you can have whatever you want out of life. So then I have to ask you, what do you want? It's like the million dollar question I think in this life, because if we have been told that we can create whatever

life that we want, why aren't we doing it? Why aren't we living all out? It just simply doesn't make sense to me. I mean, how many excuses are there gonna be, how many curtains are we gonna hide behind? How many masks are going to be put over our mouths to speak? How many ear plugs are put in our ears? We were the words of God or the words of the spirit of words, whatever you feel have just fell off and loved. What is it going to take, truly, what is it gonna take for you to live your

best life? What is it gonna take for you to feel like, Oh, I'm about to walk out on that ocean. Yo, I'm about to walk out where it just seems impossible, where I am going to have to rely on the faith within myself, the faith in God to get to the other side. At what point do you decide mm hmm, because I'm telling you, on this road to your dreams, I don't even like, say, God is the safety that the way you're walking on your dreams. You have no

idea how the session that is gonna catch you. If that makes it, it's not even if you you may know, is that like God got you? But you don't know. And all you know is that you gotta take one ft in front of the other, put one ft in

front of the other, spirit leaving me. That's what you gotta ask, now, guys, that's what you gotta request, because I think that's important in life, and I think a lot of people disregard about what it is they want based on some type of fear about the fear of the water, the waves that's gonna move, and not understanding those same waves that you fear are the same ways

composed of the same thing that gives you life. Perhaps that's why even when we look int may and we say your greatest opposition is staring right back at you. You know, I said that water is one of the most powerful elements. It can give life and it can also take it away, kind of like our tongue. You guys can speak life or you can speak death. So you're gonna choose faith over fear. What do you choose? Period? I think that that's what it boils down to in life.

It's just what do you choose? And then coming to the point where you can accept what it is that you chose in your life. I know sounds easier said than done, but to be told, that's what it truly is. It's just about what you want again, what do you want? Because whatever it is that you do want, you know that you're gonna have it, but you gotta really want it. I said this before, and I borrowed the words from

Eric Thomas, He's from Detroit. What up though? You have to want your dreams as bad as you want to breathe. And it's not only because you want to breathe, because I'm breathing. But if you want to think about it, really, if somebody were to try to hold you under water and try to suffocate you, do you understand that there comes to a point that your body will fight. It becomes a natural reaction. Perhaps that's even when we look at some of the best athletes in the world. They

live and breathe their sport. Some of the singers, some of the writers, some of the best rappers, they're consistently in their craft. They're moving it. So it can be a flow of motion, a fluid motion, perhaps just similar to that of water. It's a consistent flow. And just like that water, you realize that you can't be stagnant because when you're stagnant, it becomes murky. And what happens when things become murky? Can somebody tell me you can't

see vitamin D with dawn day? It's all about shutting the light. But if you're not willing to put one foot in front of the other and get to move it, how are you gonna see the light? Ain't nothing moving. It's not over until your death. So if you're in a space, if you're in a position of being a move mentally, physically, spiritually, move with it. Do you understand

what I'm saying? Because that will become a time where you can't move and if you choose not to move now, you will be sitting or standing or moving and walking in a dark room and you don't even realize that the lights are all Can you imagine that here, this whole time, that you thought that this was a life for you, but rather than getting out to your comfort zone, rather than going out to the oceans, you didn't even realize how much life and how much abundance is for you.

So again, what do you want? The mere choice of living your best life, the mere choice of deciding to see, the mere choice of you deciding to step in the mirror to see yourself back is a step in the right direction, because then you start to decide what it is that you want, how do you want to achieve it? What does it look like? One ft in front of the other, realizing that things will get crazy, things will get shaky, but knowing that I gotta keep going. Are

you still moving? Only you can answer that? And here's the thing. This is the thing about your cheat. Your cheat is whether or not you are gonna do the work yourself, because you're gonna have to find a god

in mystery. And I think another reason why you gotta get out into the ocean where your feet are gonna fail because you gotta get yourself in a situation because maybe there was a time, or maybe you don't realize the power of God and the God in you where you are going to have to realize that it was no other way that you got through it, but God. Perhaps that's why we gotta be lived there. Perhaps that's

why we gotta go through things. Perhaps that's why some of the people have the greatest testimonies because they had to take the test. Are you a witness, I'm a witness. I know what God has done for me. What the question is is that are you ready for what God is about to do in your life? Are you ready to walk out in that ocean? Are you ready to have the spirit leads you? Are you ready to call

out the name? Calling out the name? Okay, you can say, oh, I'm speaking to somebody in the air, but calling out the name is merely speaking life. Calling out the name is literally speaking truth, your truth, that you can profess the truth, that you can create the truth of your life. So when you feel like you're getting down and depressed, you gotta speak wisdom, you gotta speak courage. You have to affirm who you are and what it is that

you want. And I say it so passionately because in Proverbs one death and life on the power of the time, and you gotta speak life over yourself. Perhaps we were so ignorant um to get blessed with life, or we just got into this earth and we just appeared here. But there comes a point where we have toffirm to confirm mhmm. We have to affirm to confirm to ourselves about who it is we are, what it is that we want, and how we choose to live our life.

You realize that when you become limitless, wildest dreams come true, when you decide to not let fear hold you back, you realize how far you can go. When you decide you're going to let your faith stand where your feet may fail. Do you realize how high you can fly? So tell me this little birdie, you're ready to soar? Hasn't that interesting? We talked about going after our dreams and soaring, like you can look at the birds and the sky and their feet aren't on the ground, They're

just flying. And then maybe we got to a point where, um, we realized how magical we are. We fly to right. We reached limits that other people didn't get. You know what I'm saying. We reach different heights, walking different rooms, create different narratives for our life and others around us, because when we decided to show up and be authentically ourselves, we give people the permission to do it. Also, we become this light and start reflecting off of each other.

Then everybody becomes who they are, and we show different shades, and we show different colors and different hues. You did what I'm saying. Are you ready to walk out into your ocean? Well, your feet may fail, your dreams are waiting on you, Your best life is waiting on you, Your joy is waiting on you. You know everything that's happening now because you're living it day in and day out. You know what it is and what it ain't. But until you step out in that ocean, you'll only know

what it will be or what it could be. What do you see? Perhaps that's why a lot of people look at the ocean like we're stand back at it and it's beauty, but fear getting in there because like of a whole sense of death. But what if it was like the whole roalms of life. You know what I'm saying, I want that for you. I want you to step out there and get your life literally, literally and figetively. Step out there and get your life, get what's yours and what you deserve. You heard. So that's

what I had to say about oceans. It just touched me because I got some friends that are looking to to just take their life to the next level, and I said, well, you can't have it all figured out because even in stepping out that ocean, you don't know how those waves are gonna hit. You don't know what chill factor, You don't know what the pollution or what somebody must have done somewhere else can have an info, can have an impact on what's going on in the ocean.

And then get this, check this out and it's just carrying to me. Right you even realize how global warming can affect the water. It's kind of like your life and everybody that has something to do with it, Like everything can affect at some pressure point, but you can't control it. But just like they say, my soul will rest in your embraced, you gotta arrest in the promise,

the promise that you spoke over your life. The promise that you affirmed, and now you're in a position to confirm mm hmm, because even in that ocean deep, your faith is gonna stand. Huh. Imagine that Just to thing like if your feet weren't at the bottom of the ocean and yet you're still standing.
