I gotta call myself out on this, and I want to make sure that you check in your
inventory to see what you're doing with your life. You gotta dream you have something that you're going after. I mean, do you really want it? Because I think half the time my choices dictate our designs on it's not half the time. All the time. I say this because this is a message for myself, stay ready so you don't have to get ready. I had an opportunity to submit a real it was it was an audition opportunity to suit a hosting reil and I realized that I was
on a delay of return and get back. When you get an opportunity, you need to turn back in and reply as soon as possible. But here's the thing, Dawn, is it ready to gets Darne didn't have a real together. And this is the thing. This is not the first time that this is happening. And I want to charge you with to challenge you. Are you putting yourself in the same positions because oftentimes we say that we want these things, but we don't make change in order for
them to happen. They say, if you stay ready, you don't have to get ready. So in this moment, an opportunity that I have that I can go ahead and submit a hosting real. My bio on my head shot it's not together. And I follow up today what does this four days later? Uh, to see you know, any questions about submissions? And then Letty got back to me. She said, oh, we've already submitted our selects, and I wanted to get down about it. I wanted to be offended.
I wanted to be heard. But it's like, Dawn, you gotta stay up on your game. And I say that to you because we say that we want this, and it just makes me think back of how will we say we ask for things, but do we really have the capacity to hold it? Half the time, I think the capacity is just being ready, because they say, if you stay ready, you don't have to get ready to see I wouldn't have to get to a situation of getting my reel, my head shot in my bio together
because it would have already been there. I can make it the excuse that we've been in the pandemic and I haven't had a reason to be out. How bad do you want it? Dreams don't work unless you do. So that's a self check for me, and I hope a self checking a reminder for you. Stay ready so you don't have to get ready. You say you have these dreams of your aspirations, don't wait to the opportunity presents itself to get all your things together. This is
a word for me. This isn't the first time in type and I look at it some type of procrastination and because maybe I'm like, I gotta finally put it together and it's only I have to do. So I want to encourage you to do Okay, stay ready so that you don't have to get ready. Use me as an example, because I say I want this life with my dreams, but don't. Why isn't this to gather? Why are you progressing that you say what you want, but
do you really want it? A prime example of how our choices dictate our desires at wants, because at what point do I make the choice to give my ship together. I'm asking enough for you to get your right in andy right with me and get excited about I don't know what's going on, something that's going on with my face and I can't take it like I really like if you know me. Skincare is a one to the day,
one dawn day, all day, every day. Um, and there's a moment happening and it's really starting effect like you may not even see or have access to the video on this podcast depending on how this is gonna work out now. My theory is that when I went to this dermatologist, she had given me a prescription for some oral medication and then a topical treatment, and I think because I stopped using it, my face is being flared up.
Now here's the thing, if you know me, I'm all about a natural moment, but a friend had recommended and I'm like, you know, preservation prevention. You know, let's take it to the next level. Because my skin not like that. But I can compliments on my skin. And the reason why I take pride in my skin one because it's my skin. But two, I have freckles. And because I have freckles, I don't like to wear makeup like one. I don't like to wear a lot of makeup in general.
I'm more like, I like to accentuate my natural beauty and dock it up from there. But I can't be wearing makeup like that because you want to miss all my angel kisses on my face. So me thinking, you know, as a one man, you know, our hormones fella flare once a month. The dermatologist was like, yo, she didn't say yo, what I'm saying yo, Yo? Do you have a moment with breakups breakouts during that time in the month. And I'm like, yeah, you know, I get a couple
of moments. And when I said, a couple of moments like one, two, three, you know what I'm saying, but they're juicy, but still and when you take a part of your skin, if we can minimize all of that, I'm like, less, minimize all of that. So she prescribed the medication. And first she asked me the first time, and I said, I said, no, I don't, I don't. I don't want to do that because I was really going to get some right, nat, you got to get
that from the doctor. So then when I went back again she said, And then that's when I was saying, all right, John, let's take it to the next level. So I haven't taken it. And then, like I said before, I think that that that I stopped as a flair moment. So you know, um, I know I'm giving you so much information, but the last time that was nearing my cycle, my face was, you know, started to break out. And it's it's not the usual one or two. We're talking
about a colony of a moment. Now, listen, if you are the person that needs to go to the dermatologist to get a prescription, do your thing. I'm not opposed to that, but as far as me dawing day, that's not me. So I guess I'm sharing. All this to say is that if you know of some sort of regiment that can support what's happening on my face, I would greatly appreciate it. We have juicy bumps going on. We got mump bumps that look like my vernon is trying to pop through. Um, we got some irritation and
flare up. Now, what I do know is that placing ionic works. I do have this um tumeric sugar scrub. I haven't used that in a bit, but I know tumoric is really good. And my sister said to be mindful not to put that on each part of your hair on your face because I can change the color. I'm using my witch Hazel. I need to go back and get some rose water and I'm washing my face now, Um, what else can I be doing? Because this ain't it? This isn't it. Yes, I use my moisturizer and I
mean in my son block. But again let me know. Okay, so now that we got the whole face thing going on, you will not believe. You will not believe it. You will not believe who I'm at now you probably have to go back a couple of episodes when I may mention of this artist. Her name is Chicken, and I have been saying forever, ever since I came across her, I said, Yo, I gotta meet this check because her flaw was sick and she can sing. Now, I see there's an underlying story of this too, because one of
her songs actually ended UH long term friendship. I had a best friend as a results on her songs, can you lose? Can you ever lose a friend? I guess I had this. I was about to say I lost a friend, but I don't know if you ever lose a friend. But let's just say that we aren't friends anymore. We don't keep a contact anymore. Child, and I'm I'm gonna have to save it. So I'm claiming that Chick
is coming on the podcast. I'm in talks with some folks, so I need you to send that an energy that way, and if she does, I'm gonna share this story what happened. But let me tell you what happened when I matter stop. First of all, I'm a full grown ass woman in my thirties getting off for a twenty two year old. Let's just say that, and I don't care because who's that? Yeah, Jeremiah shimmy and one of the sudden glass Well he
didn't shame. He threw his hands up. I was shimming it anyway, Okay, he said, shimmy, So okay, that's happened. Um A T n T sent out this email talking about free emerging voices and who was on there checker already know, so don't. I'm in there like swim wearing fast for and I usually if I'm preparing for a concert. I don't know about you, but we're getting the playlist together because we gotta make sure when we're on stage we can see back. Okay, now, mind you, Chicken hasn't
performed in two years. I didn't even realize she hasn't really put out a whole woman two years. And when I came across her was in twenty nineteen, and in the performance she said that she had dropped her album two weeks before the pandemic, so she didn't do anything. So anyway, fast for it. We are at it's called the Valentine. It's in downtown l af For a minute, at a two point five, I think for a second, I was like, I don't know if I'm gonna go because I had to hold Jeremiah. I was like, oh,
you want to go. He was like, I to do stuff for the company, So bodym d I did stuff a company because he's responsible. One dope. I did just stuff for the company, So I'm not gonna go. I was like, all right, cool, and I was like, Ship, I've been waiting for this moment, so I'm pull it up. I was trying to fair I was gonna wear and I was like, let me just run out. I said,
I'm said Dawn, I literally said this. I said, Dawn, you need to do your fresh retwist on your hair because you're gonna take a picture and not like that. I'm claiming out there. When I go out, I've claimed and it has happened, so I'm just affirming people won't like to take pictures of me. So I was already ready. I already claimed. I was gonna bet chicken because I was telling my home girl Michelle she had met her and I was like, girl, you gotta leave me up.
We gotta link with at a link. So when you way fast forward with their downtown, I lay at the Valentine Boom concert is going. I'm sending there, like what. So it's a small venue as far as it's not like a big concert. It's like a mash pit where people are standing and there is a stage. So I'm still I'm ready. They got the drink lineup that's like catered towards her or whatever. So we're standing there, um,
you know, just people are talking. So this one woman, young lady, Hey, Linda girl, She's like, oh, I love your shirt. I'm like, thank you. It's like I just found out my friend Arianna. I think she said it's like my print, but it's like it's like these like symbols on the shirt and it was like a vest. So I made it a vest because I were open. I had my bro my short song, you know, giving you a drag in the sexy like you don't know what to do. I anyway, So we're there, I'm talking
to London. My drink is gone. At first, I think I got the chicker readA and I was like, I need to give me an old fashioned Yes, I like my dog left off, so I want to want to get my old fashion, like Linda, you want me to get you something like yeah, cool, So I get her dream become back over. I don't know. I just met her that day. She was there with her sister sing.
I'm standing there and it's a group, but some people that come up and they kind of come up to the stage and like, for a minute now, I'm like, do you not see me standing here? Not like all this property is mine? But I'm standing there. And that's when I had to pump my brakes for the first time. I said, Dawn, you are a grown ass woman. These I want to say children. That's disrespectful, but I don't know if it's disrespectful, but they're like early twenties children
to me. Ship I don't know. And I was like, you know what, this is their moment. You gotta real life. You know, you know you're in the older girl's part. But now shout. I was there to see it too. Anyway, fast forward, Um, they were standing there a rocket, so here comes chicken and I'm like, I'm geeking. I'm so glad. Let me just tell you right now, I'm so glad that I wasn't in work mode. Dawn. I mean, like, oh, I gotta connect here. I gotta make sure I take
this picture there. I was just in it. She come out, She like, Yo, what's up. She's like, thank y'all for rocket with me. She tells the whole situation about how the pandemic happened in the album, and then she just started laying out the tracks and she just singing. Then she rapping, then she's singing this, she's wrapping. Then all of a sudden, you know that group I told you that kind of just stopped in front um. I said, I was a pair of twins, six two young ladies.
Wasn't Amy and I should know their names? Let me look on Instagram because just in case they see this and hear this, because we all agreed that this was a moment that we all enjoyed, and I think it would be dope to give them a nice little shout out. Hold on, give me a second. Hold on. So it's Amy and d d Amy and d d Canoe, k A and wait, I'm giving all that government my bad.
It's on Instagram. What's up a day? Let's say, I know Chicker, it's in the middle or her performance, and she go, I'm want to give a shout out, y'all because my sisters out here. David following me reckon with me since day one. Who you think she's talking to? Amen, nanny, I'm in a right bys you wait, I'm sorry, I'm yelling. I hope you can get this. I'm the only one
to blind hair. So like I'm in, I'm in the vibe and I wasn't rooted up because that's why I'm saying humility and just showing grace, like making space for people. I made space for them to be there. So that was that one moment. So also a T and T was doing something that they had um fans they can submit questions and say the next thing, I know, we're looking on the screen because they had a mirrors. It was like a mirror up there. What was it? It looked like it was in a frame of a mirror,
but it was a reflection of a camera. So it's a camera on us audience, so like we could see ourselves. And then when somebody had when they played a video message, the person's face came up. So this dude's face came up. Guess whose dude face came up? The dude I was standing in the pit. I said, I'm in the moment. I'm here. We're rocking out another reason I didn't even tell you. So I'm just getting so hype in the story the reason why I love chicken when we talk
about vitamin D and what it's about. As far as the inspiration of motivation that's in her music. My word is my power. She talks about her crown. She talks about you know, I'm on the elevator, you know, but I'm onto something greater. She's speaking life in her Larry Shall, her vulnerability so anywhere. That's why I love her. Go check her out. Um so I'm wrong, I'm having fun. I'm in it. The show is over, so we all just leaning around. I'm not lingering out for any moment.
Nest thing I know, Wayne, pause before we lean around. This show is over. Next thing, I know this woman who got a earpiece in her she got a head set on, got a little walkie talking. Moment you looking at Amy and d D. Come on, girls, come back here, I said, We'll wait a minute now, mind you. Right before that happened, we were catching up afterwards. I was talking to Amian d. I was like, Wow, that's so amazing.
And they're telling me the story or they started to tell the story about when they capt wind of her and how they kept following her on social media, and then that's when a T and T lady came and they were like, go I said, girl, we will talk later. At that point, I had recorded a video, so we had exchanged our Instagram account, so I was like, girl, you can tell me later. Go live out this moment.
So then this is when I'm lingering with the rest of the Fox, and then the security like all right, y'all, y'all gotta go ahead and lean and I'm like, no, shake you right, Like why are we still here? But genuinely, we was just to talk to have a good time. They say, if you stay ready, you ain't gotta get ready. Huh, asked about me. So I'm walking out. I scored that on myself over there, honey, okay, So I'm curving around. I just happened to use the periphil. I looked to
the left. Nobody walked through a door. I said, hm, I wonder what's behind that door? What is the score? So the rest of the group they're gonna walk around. I said, you know, you gotta be both for your dreams. Okay. The intuition was talking and guess what I was listening, so the door was right there. I must have walked through that dog guess who I saw? I saw Amy Addy. I said, I'm in the right place at the right time. Okay.
Now the reason when I say I saw some people walk through the door, that was the rest of the crew that was standing there. So I walked in and it was for the wind. So we had all the A, T and T people there. I saw the girls that I was like, hey, they kept smiler because it's like we outside. So they told us just the way they said, chicken is coming for me and great. I'm so I don't know if I'm losing it this morning, but I'm like, this is happening. Yes, this is happening. And I'm like,
oh snaps. Because where I parked at Downtown, it was like a two hour limit. I grant, I don't know if they were walking, you know, giving out tickets at the time, because it was a lot of production trucks and stuff like that. So they probably was like, you know, it's an event going on. I wasn't taking a chance, okay. So I had to walk out and I had to make sure you're gonna see me. Okay. So when you see these blind locks, you know that's me. I walk out. I'm about to go to the door. As a guy.
The security guardens sitting into desk. I said, listen, do you see me? I said, I gotta move my car. I'm coming right back. He said, are you author rights? I said that they know I'm in there. I said, you see me coming out. I just gotta move my car, gotta come right back, go out there. I'm gonna move the car. I got eye con contact with the guy. All right. Now, I gotta be gangster because I don't know if I'm gonna get back in. I don't have an all access badge. The lady from a T n
T did not tell me to come back there. I'm just being gangs lookers on from Detroit. So I walked back in. I said. The security guys saying, you know we're doing not So we're back in there. And so I'm back in the room. Were sending their way and the girls are telling me what's going on. So they're like, yo, she spoke at our graduation. This is an online graduation, of course, because the pandemic. And they said they've just been following her every since and just tweeting her and
showing her love, and then she started following back. So we're back there. We're waiting. I think a T and T. They may had got a couple of shots, but then they were looking at the fans like, yo, you're ready to take a picture. Well you know doing I'm an aries, I'm gonna be bold. I'm a leader by nature. I'll
pop myself up there. Now. The reason why I have to say this, it could have been better if I waited a moment, but I wouldn't change it because I didn't get a chance to think, what kind of questions are, what I wanted to say, how I want to say, what she meant, how she changed my life? Oh my god, I didn't think. All I know is I got up there and I said, God, I think you're so the hope. And then she's like thank you. We get a hug. Then we're posing with pictures. We had our little moment.
If you check me on on Instagram, Dawing Day speaks, Um, I got the post of chicken. I So we're sitting there posing. I'm like looking at the stars. They asked me, what do I see or look at? Scott messed up that lyric, but anyway, we keep caning like I'm we're posing different ways. And I said, oh my gosh, this is so amazing. And then she went up there with the girls, the sisters I was telling you about, and
they enjoyed it. She was like, oh, family time, sisters on three and I just think back when we were outside listened to the concert. I'm so grateful, not because I feel like this led me to um to to go back here with Chicken, but more so because one of the sisters traveled from Chicago or somewhere in the Midwest for this concert. Like not like that, but I know what it's like to be that younger you loving on somebody and it's like, that's your moment, says rock out.
And it's amazing that when you make room, how you don't lose out either, because guess what, I was right there with them, so to to to get that moment was amazing. And I didn't realize the whole crew because you know, my grown as geeks to sell all of them. Ain't nobody over twenty four as far as the fan and crew but me. I mean, there were other people in the audience, but I'm saying the backstage moment, but I ain't given damn because I claimed that. I claimed that,
and on that night it was a farm. It's possible if you believe and follow your intuition and take a chance on your yourself. Just do it. Don't be afraid to go by out there by yourself. So I go ahead and leave. I'm low key this whole night. I'm giggling to myself. I ain't keep king to myself. And I woke up the next day, I said, damn. I know. I did tell her I had vitamin deeper down day. I did tell her I'm talking to somebody with the label. But I don't know if I said or I don't
know if I did anything memorable. It was memorable enough for me because I woke up the next day and I was in my phone and I was just seeking out laughing. You've ever done that, You ever look back in the memory of picture and you just kept laughing, just looking at it over and over, and I just kept reliving the moment down to the point I remember I was rocking out to her album and just to be in the crowd and the energy and to know if that it's such a positive message to know that
she took a chance of her dream. Just to know that she out there doing her thing. That ship is so dope to me. And it's like, when I see Chicken, I'm like, had I had somebody like that when I was growing up, so bold, so alldation. She's so beautiful, so freaking amazing gosh, and I guess I was talking to friends. I was like, man, I really geets out. I should have asked this, but it was like, it was so dope, and I said, thank you. Don I had to thank myself because I allowed myself to be
in a moment. I took my workout on. I said, no, we're just gonna be. And you know, you ought to realize that when you want something, as long as you're working in alignment within your working around, it's gonna work out. You gotta believe it there and let it be and let it manifest. So I ain't gonna trip because she's gonna be on Vitamin D with Dawn day. Huh. You know,
I'm gonna save that for a negative inspiration. I'm gonna tell you something else, but as of right now, that's the story would check up and it was freaking amazing and I just had to share that with you. I wanted, I just had to share that with you because I want to encourage you to go after things that make you feel a lie and we realize that sometimes you may have to go alone. Sometimes you may have to trust your instinct. Sometimes you gotta go on a limb
or avert and come right back. But don't miss the moment. Just be in the moment, because the moment is magical, right man. Okay, so um, that got me excited.
