Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. You are tuned into the Vitamin D with Dawn Day Podcast and I am your host, Dawn Day, here to get you excited about your life so that you can live life on purpose and for a purpose. And this is your first time tuning in and welcome Vitamin D. It's upon of our name. My name is Dawn, and you get Vitamin D from the sun. So I'm here to sad light into your life.
And I do this with inspirational insights and conversations with celebrities and everyday people like you and me, because if you want to be better and you want to do better, then you're going to have to be able to see better. So join me on this journey of living our best lives and understanding and realizing how you are your greatest ass act Grace, Oh amazing Grace, How sweep the sound. Isn't it interesting that we don't give ourselves enough grace?
I wonder why? And I like to associate Grace Wood simply space, and we need space as living beings. We need to be able to move, and Grace acknowledges the fact that we are spiritual beings having a human experience so why don't we show more grace to ourselves? And oftentimes grace looks like just taking a chance, having confidence, realizing that if you fall down seven times to get up eight, understanding that your location is not your destination,
realizing that you can't fail if you don't quit. See, with grace, you give yourself space to be human, to be exactly who you are and what you are right now. Grace affords possibility, It grants opportunity that even bestows peace. It says it's okay not to be okay, but never
once does it say that you're not enough. In fact, grace affords you the idea to realize that everything that you all right now is enough because you are who you are and understanding that you are a culmination of everything that has happened to you, or we can say for you right if you're a believer that everything happens for your greater good, why wouldn't grace afford you that possibility as well? So how about we acknowledge it more?
How about we acknowledge the fact that we are extraordinary people who need to feel as all they are valued, they're seeing, they're heard, with mistakes and flaws at all right. I think you're worthy because I know that I am, and I love that neighbor as I love myself. Why would I want anything less for you? So yeah, that's afford ourselves more grays. I don't know about you, but that space sounds nice to me. Get your right, MNDY right with me, and get excited about your lives. Check
and check and check in time. This is doing day reporting from Los Angeles, California, here in mid city, standing in my closet. No, it's not because I don't have a studio to go to. It's just that today, this morning, I need to record in my closet. I'm coming with gratitude. You know. I always say, the more grateful you are,
the more things you have to be grateful for. I'm grateful today the fact that I'm coming to you in my closet and I have the option of not one, but two studios and which I record from it is amazing. I'm so grateful. I've been checking in talking about how I know that greater is coming, how not even just for or the word for my life rather is abundance,
because I'm expecting it exceedingly and beyond. And when I think about the fact that Vitamin D started underneath a comforter in New York and now I record in a studio in Sherman Oaks, California. And the result of being faithful from the Vitamin D that has served me being the light and may way for me to have my own show on the heritage station Radio Free kJ l H. Yes, that's one two point three kJ H in Inglewood, California, owned and operated my living national treasure Stevie Wonder. Don't
tell me, oh my God has set up. We're talking the same dram from Detroit who always dreamed being on a radio, moved from New York to get an option to have a show on an online network Accelerated Radio. And guess who on that Cavin Nash? Why is that important? Well, since I moved here and what was that September? Sepmber. If I'm not mistaken, I need to look back. But
I feel like that might be it. Cavin Nash has always done the Quiet Storm I guess if you will, for kJ LANE and he was using his dream for his online station in school and which I had the Vitamin D show there. Don't tell me, oh my God to set up? What do you want. They say you cannot fail if you don't quit. So in family, that means you chose to quit, because if you don't quit, you cannot fail. So then the question, MA comes, how
bad do you want it? Hm? I understand things that may not be working in your favor the way you thought they should work or when you thought they should happen. But if you fall down seven times, get up eight. If you can look up, you can get up. Your location is not your destination. Remember without a vision that people will perish, so would save you? I kept the vision. I stay faithful with God showed me. How do I know? Because it's what I feel alive? You know? I had um.
I see young lady. Her name is Misha, young lady. We did the same age. She might be older than me. No, relax, okay, relax anywhere Masha. I met her when I was working with the Steve Harvey Morning Show. She was, I want to say, the assistant right hand to Jay Anthony Brown
and also what's his co host on his show? So we've kind of kind of we have been looking at each other and been in this journey together side by side because I started with them in seventeen so I perhaps met her in team and even over the years we were just spot check in and we ran into each other again. I taste the soul because I started working at kJ L, which I didn't even tell you what the show is. My bad. Look, that's how organic you know that this is. So let me back up.
I am the host of front Page, which is a legendary show on King J. L Age. Now I'm on from four thirty to six am Monday through Friday. Did you hear what I said? Monday through Friday four thirty am to six am Pacific Standard time. Because we're in California. Now, you can listen on the go if you're not in the state of California by downloading the free radio free
kJ l H app. So, if you have an Android, go into the Google play Store and search one or two point three catch l A. And if you have an iPhone, go ahead and check out the app store and search one or two point three kJ L H. And here's a plus. When you download the app, that
means no matter where you go, you can listen. And then not only that, it shows you the music that we play on top of the post we put on Facebook on top of there's this open mic feature, so if you have something you that to say to me, you could go ahead and click that and then, like I played on the air, I know where I get in. Wait wait wait wait. The thing that makes it bold is that it has an on demand feature. So it's over there on the right hand corner. When you click that,
it gives you a list of shows. Search for the one who says front page with Dawn Day Yeah, and then click view episodes. Bob boop, stop playing and wing. It's right there. It's the way my God is set up. So anyway, doing you're so hype, I don't know. I can't take it. I mean I can't. I live for more. What I'm trying to say is is that you can check out all the past episodes. I know you were outside, So anyway, you can't fail if you don't quit, I
say the chorus. Yo. If you've been listening, First of all, you know how long I've been on this journey, and you probably came in with the past two and a half years we've been doing this. I see I'm in the closet. Used in the closet, But usually I won't be able to ask your mine. But I'm not in
the studio. I'm doing this from home. I don't even know, but I feel like it was two and a half years and I'm just saying from the stent of being on my heart in that platform because you know, this started in New York underneath the comfort at twenty twel you feel me? No, it was. The address is five eighty two St. Nicholas. I have a new apartment five to be right on the corner of one and sat next.
That's how real it was underneath my comfort of baby sweating with my USB microphone that my mentor skip dealer got from me. Stop playing with me. I don't know what you won't No, I don't know who I'm talking to, but remember, you can't fail, like don't quit. So then I gotta ask you how bad do you want it? M hm? So yeah, you can check out the show. Four thirty to six. We outside And now this journey has not been easy, but then I guess if it were,
everybody would do it right. And the thing that makes it so amazing, and what I'm saying, you can't feel if you don't quit, essentially my Vitamin Ded podcast with us what we do right here, it's basically the same side, uh that I have for the front page. I'm so grateful that rom is being made. I'm so grateful that
I have the gumption to show up. I'm so grateful for the sense that I'm telling you about that I had to go through of taking the bus and talking to the homeless people, sharing with you about just the different trials and tribulations. Because what I realized is that that opened the door of vulnerability and I was allowing us to connect. It's allowing me to show up to
be seen. So when I say, hey, this is what I'm about, this is what I believe, and you believe because you said you know why I can feel Dawn, and it's the truth, and we know the truth by the way that it feels. So because I have to insert, that stage of my life had prepared me for what I had to do with kJ Lange, because honestly, let's really think about it, this is the number two market. As far as being on the FM dial, I went from zero and by wait, don't try to play yourself,
hold on, let me back down. Seeing I do this often where I have to check myself and I think we have to hold ourselves accountable, right, I said, zero, No, Dawn, You've been doing this. It's just that you didn't have whatever the title, as somebody said, but the passion was still there. And I want to remind you for whoever is going after your dream to know, you don't have to have that title bestow from somebody else to say who it is that you are? Who do you say
that you are? And if you weren't, then why would you say that you are? If you believe in scripture and faith? I don't know I am. Who do you say that you are? Walking like you're talking. If it walked like a duck talk like a duck, then it ought to be a duck. So if you're walking like you say to who you are, and you're talking like you say that you are, then I guess you are who you say that you are. But my question to
you is who do you say that you are? So with that being said, while I'm saying zero, no, baby, I was doing the podcast I said, I started underneath the comfort, I said, I came into l A and had my show there. I'm in the studio Shermanov's California. But even before that, like I said, having a moment of just online and then they're like, hey, I don't know came first, as they said this podcast first? Or
did y'all get my segment first? Probably my podcast because that showed like, hey, she really got her a quick men, she's about doing what she's doing. So then I get my weekend segment. What's happening on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Stop playing with me. Don't tell me what my God can do? He said exceedingly and abundantly, far more than what you could ever imagine. Do you truly believe who
God says that they are? He? She, however you want to put it, do you believe because God is be incomprehensible? So when you try to put a gender on God, I gotta ask you, who do you think that you are? Because God said exceedingly and be on far more than what you could ever imagine, so you can't even fathom
to imagine. But if we want to get religious wise, interesting that so many people try to put their definition on who God is, like stop, look anyway, That's why I always say, um, even how I started saying this's on vitamin D, but I say this on front page, we're making wrong we make room for research, We make room for people to be who they are. We make room for people to express because I can't say what your experience are to define who you are, and based
on my experiences to tell you who you are? What does that look like? Who do you think that you are? Anyway, as I would saying a lot of the features that I use with to Steve Harvey Morning Show from going to the point of online and taking this a weekend, I'm using from page even stuff from Vitamin D, which is the basis of everything. What do I mean by that? Well, from page you always have the same calling to conscious cut.
That's Vitamin D or as you know it, quick dose, where I use the lyrics of popular music and I intertwined it into a motivational message. Hey, then I gotta what's happening. If you've been following along for a while, you know we do what's happening right here where I give you the news in different ways to think about things. What's Happening was birthed from my weekend segment with the
Steve Harvey Morning Show. It was entitled was Happening And you see how in life you gotta go through experiences because just like legos or just like bricks or anything that you built, you gotta build it stacks one thing on top of the other. That's why you gotta call before you walk, walk before your dog, dog, before you run. You feel me, catch it while it's hot, even catch it. I say it on front page. I started that right
here on Vittam. Indeed, find has been at the mid callaway self, everybody this trade and you are listening to l with Don Day and I'm getting fan mail? Do you know that I got four pieces of fan mail within a month? How do I know? It's exactly a month when I started the show in October seventeen and the most recent piece of fan mail that I got was dated November. Somebody said, are these individuals? I touched them so so much? They got papers, whether it be cards,
whether it be blank sheets. Uh and and wrote on there even if drew illustrations affirming me seeing they love my energy vulnerability. I watched to write a book of recipes and inspire folks, and how I can promote it on the show. What talking about how I'm inspiring? Then? And one so much to go to the post office, get stamps and mail it in Oh my god. You know,
I don't know if you're on social media. I'm assuming that you are because and we're connecting at some point, I mean probably follow me or you just you know, birds of feather fock together. I'm just saying anyway, you know what they say, even about the algorithm, how a lot of people will look at your stuff, let alone white it, and then those who like it, how many of them are actually commenting. That's engagement. So this is like,
oh school engagement literally because of the audience. But then also I touched you like that that you was like, let me right in that snail mail. That took time to get here. Oftentimes the same time, it takes some life for us to build to get to where we're going. And I'm just grateful of the process of how I've been building with one. I feel like, even with myself, because I wasn't the same person and that I was what last year when I initially apply for the position.
I don't get into that, but it's timing I had to get rid of. I had to get to the point of me sharing how I'm taking the bus just how I mean, no homeless people, how me being more vulnerable with myself and my authenticity of who do I say that I am embracing my sexuality or whatever that looks like, just being open of being me and talking so candidly. Catch it while it's hot. Already mentioned catch it. I started hearing how it's resonating there. Yeah, I know.
Then people writing an emails and just just putting the punt of my name and just how this is a new beginning. I got past as calling me and talking about some I'm inspiring them and and if you've been listening, it's just me sharing my journey of me figuring it out. That's what I'm calling forth. And I'm so grateful. Thank you God, Thank you God, Thank you God. They say, the more grateful you are, the more things you have to be grateful for. What aren't you grateful for? Damn?
That was so good. I thought the podcast should have ended the episode, but I got more to say, more to say as far as like hard times don't last always, but strong people do. And I don't even know was it hard? Is it anything other than hard than the process of what a diamond goes through? You know, this is the quote. I've shared it for a while. I
learned this. It was either my junior or college year and um junior college, my junior or senior year in college at Howard where I read on this girl's Facebook post. What allows a diamond to shine are the multitudes of cuts that have been placed within it. And you know, we said, we go through these hard times. Why is
it anything different than that piece of cold whatever. This state that many people didn't consider had holding a lot of value has so much pressure or these hard times that it literally transformed its physical state, it's makeup and chipping away at these things that what we didn't see were well because what we may say pruning, pruning because you know, some trauma that we experienced, I don't know, a loss of a loved one, um a job, I
don't know, you gain weight or just depressure, whatever it is. But still choosing to step forth, allowing the light to shine on us, because we said that joy comes in the morning, So we choose to speak light, and and when we choose to step in the light, then the light starts to ricochet off of what we considered these imperfections. It comes in because we allowed, we opened up a level of vulnerability and the light is just bouncing off and it's red, it's blue, it's purple, it's green, it's
g listening so beautifully. Oh yeah, a diamond. And see we can understand the value of the diamond. How is it that we can miss the value within ourselves? M hm. I'm not saying that we need to just look at material things, but let's be honest. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. With that being said, we cannot negate the fact as a human material or things that we can see, smell and touch stimulate us. Hello in
and y'all catch it while it's hot. So with that being said, we have to ensure that we touch on that level of sensory. If that's how that can make sense, Let's not talk to a part of us that excess. See that's why I really was good home about getting
rid of shame. And I said this recently to another radio personality who I haven't really taken a liking too at kjl A. Her name is a day Lamar, and she's on with the Steve Harvey Morning Show ensuring that we get all the local news and traffic that's going on. And I share with her. I said, I don't like shame, because shame makes you feel like you're hiding. And you're only hiding if you feel like you're doing something wrong, and if you're opening up a space of truth, why
am I hiding? And that's important to highlight because how you do anything is how you'll do everything. And I am not one to do wrong. That's not who I am. I choose to be right because I choose to step into the light. And she said, oh, I like that. I like that. So we only hind if something that we have to be shameful for. If you're shameful, why are you doing something that's wrong. I don't know about you, but it feels good to be and to do good. Look I've said it before and I'll say it again.
We are special offers, here for a limited time. Let's make account. I've said it otherways. We're here for a good time, not a long time. Let's make it count. It's called the present for a reason. Allow it to be that gift. Let us shine. That's what I'm gonna be. That's what I'm doing. So I'm grateful. I'm so grateful. There's more I can definitely say, but this is where we are. Gratitude is everything. The more grateful you are, the more things you have to be grateful for. So
you're gonna check me out on the front page. You know what, I diverted, I need to go back to my asia. So yeah, I went on the whole branch. Was about to start hold another line, looking for all another tree, but I wanted to mention my Asia and I talked about how we came up into radio together, or my step since I brought her up because she said, well, what is it like? What does it feel? And I share with her. I said, I ain't never felt so free in my life. I'm not afraid, and I don't
say that out of arrogance or cockiness. I just feel like I've been preparing my entire life for this moment. It is my confidence that speaking and confidence is nothing more than knowing. I know who it is that I say that I am. I know what it is that I said that I want. I know because I've been doing it, so I don't have to second question it or second guess it. And I know that because look, vitamin D is that and it feels good. And I even shared with her. I said, even if they said
doing you don't have to do on amorrow. I can walk in full confidence noy I did me, and I have confirmation of my vulnerability and doing me. Because that's why I had to mention the fan mane. That's why I had to mention the pastor saying that even I inspired him. That's why I have to mention people send an emails doing double entendres on my name. I know it is who I say that I am. It's a new dawn on it's a new day. Hey, catch it
while it's hot. Hey, my God promised succeedingly and abundantly. Hey, Hey God, thank you he h Steve this. I just oh my god, it's good. My God is so good. I just can't believe it. I just I try to make sense of it. I'm gonna have to remind myself that I caught fourth abundance and abundance is exceedingly and a beyond my God, I said to just triumph. So I said, okay, and look you hear it. And you know, the guys called me in on the show and they just say, hey, just speak in the life of just
like Web's doing a HI on. This other guy his name is Arthur. He's works with UM helping those get jobs and so forth, and he was like, you're gonna be syd and get it. People discussing, they say, you so good at this. I'm so grateful because I dreamed of this my entire life, my entire life. So I'm ready. I'm ready to fall, I'm ready to flounder. I'm ready because it's so exciting. I don't want to not try anything.
And that's how I said, I'm falling in love. And perhaps that's what they mean, even, you know, talking about people in relationships and when they know they found him one because you don't hold back, because even if it were over tomorrow, you ain't so concient right now. I gotta hold on because you can't do this and we gotta be together forever, because forever now, because you're giving it your own now, you're so present right now, it's
making sense. I even purchased this book by Dr Gay Hendricks and it's entitled learn About of Self Love hold On, let me get it. It's called learning to Love Yourself. Oh my goodness. They say you cannot seek what you cannot be, and I'm learning loving realizing it starts with vulnerability. So that's the updates that's what's happening. I'm so grateful and I want to remind you that it's possible. And I'm an see you to share these things with you
because I want to let you know that it's possible. Okay, all right, Um, I guess that threw me off a tangent when I went to go get the book, but I wanted to say that it's possible. I want to remind you not to give up. I wanna, you know, let you know that you can have and do anything that you want. And that is happening for me and it can happen for you too. All right. I got more, but yeah, check me out. O ka j A. It's
Funday through Friday thirty to six am. That's the front page with doing da Mike my name is entitled the show. Oh this is why let me remind you. I want to say this just as a note. I make sure that I tell you that we are in Sherman Oaks, California, and I got I heard radio Premium Networks by my bad, I'm gonna be syndicated, and that's what I was saying with Arthur and just affirm me and I say thank you God because guys showed me as coming. If you remember,
I told you they were pictures before. But I didn't even know what career was. And I was there, and what I realized is that um, God has always has always put me into places well, I would soon work UH. As early as I can remember in college, have visited x M. College friend at the time, Robert Robert Willington, he interned there, have visited, ended up getting an internship there. Put on a bar program Excent Behind the Industry, had a segment entitled Who's on tour? Thanks good Bye? UH.
I think about New York and visiting BLS. And then I was the local producer for Yolanda Adams Warning Show. And I started off on the Quiet Store with one Harbor visited Music Choice but for Lord, we were out of the party and we had to go to sleep, so we slept at the job because it was right off the thirty fourth street. I was on thirty fourth the park and she was on thirty fourth and Nave. I end up working at Music Choice. A mentor Skip came out to came out to l A and then
today let's go out to it from here. And then I ended up working at Steve Harvey Morny Show. But years ago, I I visited kJ light in between before getting the job at the Steve probably Morning Show on my birthday, and I was going to be guest hosting or auditioning Tammy Mac who's one from three or seven. I actually just got voted as um l a's top radio personality from the La Times in California, um beating Ellen Kay right in seacrest like she did. That allowed me to come in and I got a show with
her page. And so right now, what I said, not woman two studios. So amen, Amen, Amen, it's my God, and at me it's good. And I'm gonna continue to tell you what my God and set up Chris he said, he said, I'll but give you exceedingly and being so you see what I'm saying was about that happen next. I'm gonna be syndicated, are you if you've been watching me on social media or you've been listening, Oh my back, it says our media and Premiere Networks. My God doesn't
tease to take away. I can't. I just so, hey, can you call it cockiness? I call it confidence, And it's just what I know. And this is based on what God has shown me and the promise. So are you ready for the show? Does somebody give you something to see? Hey? Man, God promise exceedingly and abundantly. Let me go because you know at this point, like girl, thank you for joining me on this check in. I
