all right value nation nation here we go another episode very excited for this one i'm personally calling it the jordan episode i don't know if she's gonna call it the jordan episode whenever she puts it out on all the platforms but that's what it is to me because this is our first ever episode start to finish jordan on the screen let's get right into it jordan's gonna make us feel old i have a feeling i think she's gonna yeah she's gonna expose us on some current topics

and what the the hip young ones are are talking about these days and i i have no clue so i i feel like i'm going to come out of this feeling like you know that grumpy old guy stuck in his generation no you've got all the riz my friend you should be just fine the wizard of oz i like to say i know everybody uses that one now that's that's how old i am but that's how old i am is the only one i have is wizard of oz I wish I was like the Zen guy. Turn the Gen Z slang word

into a dat joke. Always. Always. I wish I was, you know, there's that Zen guy that comes up with all the slang terms for Zens. You know, the little nicotine pouches. Call them Zimbabwe's. Yeah, the Zen, the nicotine pouches. He's like, Zimbabwe. That's the only one I can remember because I'm old. So anyways, welcome, Jordan. Thank you for actually joining us, joining us instead of sitting back there and judging us from behind the camera. So wonderful to have

you. All right. So what do you got for us today? Yeah, what's happening? Yeah, well, let's kick it off. I knew I knew we'd want to touch on this subject. Talk a little bit about your thoughts on the Travis Kelsey Taylor Swift relationship. That's a big, big topic right now. You think it's real? You think it's PR? I think it's PR. I mean, I'm going to kick this off as somebody obviously in Kansas City. And in love. Wait, wait, wait. Don't short shut yourself. Season

ticket holder. You have banners. You have pictures with your kid. You got a Dom bottle back there all bedazzled in gold. Look, you're through and through, Casey. I mean, my first Chiefs game was in 1991. I mean, I've been – my first Chiefs game was before Jordan was born. It was in 1991. That's true. You're dating yourself. All right,

so you're speaking for the fan faithful. I'm over it at this point on hearing about it, to be honest, because I live here and every Chiefs game, it's how many times do they get to show Taylor in the stands. I mean, it's just – It's a drinking game at this point. I'm over it. I think it's more of a PR type thing personally, like if the conspiracy theorist in me comes out. But I don't – the relationship itself doesn't bother me. Like I could care less. Like it's

fine. I don't think it's a distraction. I think everything's fine there. But I lean more towards – it benefits the NFL big time. because it's bringing way more female viewership to the NFL. So that's my personal thoughts on it, but who knows? I mean, it benefits your boy, too, because his jersey sales are through the roof. He's getting into a lot of restaurants he probably wouldn't normally. I mean, he's everywhere. He's literally on, what has he got, DirecTV, Capital One, and

something else, all at the same time. Yeah. So, and what's she getting? I mean, what is, she's just maintaining her. She doesn't need anything out of it. I think she's, yeah, just a piece of the puzzle. But I mean, viewership for females is way up since that happened. Ticket sales on games when they like announced that she's going to be there, climb through the roof. Like we had to sell our tickets a few weeks ago. And we sold them about a week and a half, two weeks

before the game. And we found out the day before the game, Taylor announced she was going to be there. We're like, gosh dang it, I wish we were selling the tickets now because we could have gotten more. Yes, just the Taylor factor that she – people just want to be in the same stadium as her. It's crazy. It's crazy. Breathe the same air. I don't get it. It's crazy. Up here where the air is crisp in Taylor's world. All right, Jordan, so what's your take on the whole thing?

Yeah, let's hear it. I first thought it was definitely PR. I'm not, I'm, I've never been a Swifty, so not, wouldn't ride on the train, but it feels more, maybe like it's more real now, but it does feel very, very PR. The fact that the NFL was like changing all their social medias to be like Taylor's version of whatever, like that felt very PR heavy. Yeah, they were quick to jump at that, right? I mean, the NFL is a big business. They're going to be quick to jump on any opportunity.

I think it's real, though. I do agree that. I think there's actually, like, it's not just a business thing. Right, but if they can make some more money while doing it, then, I mean, is that not just the ultimate power couple? I mean, she can't sell any more tickets because she's sold out everywhere. She could help her man. Yeah. So the consensus is, okay, it's probably fake, but it's not really bothering us. More or less. Ask me to get in a month or two. We'll revisit.

We don't have to stay on this topic for too long, but I knew you were going to want to at least talk about it. No. You're over it. We're done. All right. Well, we can get into my first little topic. Have you guys heard of girl math? Yes. I've seen an IG video on it. It's not quite calculating for me, though. Okay, I have some examples. So if I go to the store and I pay in cash, it's free. What? Cash doesn't count. If it's in cash, it's free. I almost choked on my iced beverage.

Because you're not putting it on a credit card? Yeah. It's not coming out of my bank account. I already have the cash. If it's not affecting my bank account, it's free. For example, my Starbucks app. If I already have money loaded in the app, then my drink is free. Oh my god. I don't even know what to say to this. The money's already gone. It's already out of my account. You know? If I buy something and I return it, I've been made money. You've been made money, yeah. Wait,

wait, wait. But what happens if you don't get the taxes back? You only get what the cost of the item was. So you actually lost money. You get taxes back. You know? You get everything back. No. I think you get everything back. Or, like, you say you buy something online, you don't get shipping back. Right. Quit making this more complicated, Dad. Wait, hold on a second. Girl Math is making this crap. Yeah, I know. I understand

what she said. And, like, I saw this just the other day, which thankfully I did, so I'm not flying completely blind here. But, like, at first I thought it was going to be, well, I went shopping and, you know, this was on sale. It was marked 20 % off, so I bought two other things. So basically, it's all three for the price of one, but it's like, no, your percentage math was terrible here. You spent $100 more than you would have just buying the one at full price, but you bought

three because they were 20 % off. So I'm saving money. Please get my money. If it's something I'm going to buy later at full price, but I buy an extra of it now at 30 % off, then I've saved future me money. So time is linear. Yeah, sure. Sure. Alright, so this is not like a new thing either, right? This is like something that's been around for a while? No, I think it's definitely been around, but maybe the term and like actually conceptualizing it is new. But this has been

girls' thought process always, I think. Since the beginning, but now all of a sudden it's finally come to light with the girl math pairing. Yes. Lord. I really need to consult my wife on this one. If she's up to girl math and I'm not aware of it, oh my goodness. Yeah. If my daughter comes up to me and was like, check out this new jacket I got. Guess what? That was free. I was like, what do you mean it was free? She's like, well, I had the cash, so it was free. I'm going to

instantly grow about 50 % more gray hairs. Well, yeah, the accountant in you is going to lose it. yeah you got me on this like i am completely confused this is how this is a thing but i think it's just to make us feel better about our spending habits okay to rationalize spending somebody so somebody that shops at target a lot probably came up with this crap yeah oh god okay all right girl math I'm sure there's a boy math version. Boy math is math. It's just math. Debits and

credits, man. Parentheses and non -parentheses. I mean, I love the approach. I like it. Whatever makes you feel better about yourself. It's a freebie if you have cash in hand. Oh my gosh. I think that's the psychology behind it. I'm not going to lie. I might lose a little street cred here, but I do kind of understand what you're saying. So like, for example, like earlier in the summer, played in a golf tournament. Well, this doesn't count because I actually did win

that money. Okay, let's say I take out cash because I'm going to the golf course and I'm thinking about betting some of the guys or whatever. So then, but that doesn't end up happening. So say I got like 200 bucks in my, in my wallet and I don't use cash very often. So a month or two later, I still have that cash. I go out, I see something like, you know what? I'm going to use this cash to pay for it. So I don't really feel it leaving my bank account, which is the whole

premise on that. Like that, that debit already happened a long time ago. So boom, I pay with the cash and it doesn't really feel like I lost anything. Cause I've been hanging onto that cash for a while. Yeah. That's the only way I can rationalize this. That is exactly it. You got it to a T. So Jordan, are you pulling money out like today to spend like a week later? No. Are

you forward thinking? I don't pull really money out, but so that's why I think it feels more free when I do have cash because I rarely have cash. Exactly. I'm with you. Because today, yeah, people don't carry cash these days. No. So, yeah, that's girl math. It's girl math. Common core math. It's all the same. Stop. Stop tinching math. Stop tinching math. What do you got? What do you got? Moving on. I just got a list of some slang terms to go over. Sweet. Do we have to

guess what it means? Yeah, I'm going to give you the term. Some of them are pretty easy. I think you'll get no problem. So, I'll give you the term. If you need a sentence, let me know. Okay, sweet. I was going to ask. Language version. You said no sentence. Alright, we'll start off really easy. I know you guys are going to know this one. The T. Ooh, give me all the T. Give me all the deets. What's going on? What's the 411? What's the latest? Did you say T or deet?

T. That's give me the deets? Yeah, give me what's the latest? Spill the tea. I didn't know that one. Like spill the beans, but not spill the tea. Well, I understand what it means now, but I've never heard anybody say, I need the tea. Give me the tea. Never heard that come out of anybody's mouth. Or if it's like really juicy gossip, then it's the tea's hot. Yeah. Hot tea. Oh my gosh. Give me that hot tea. Zero for one. Zero for one here. One me, zero you. Now, let's

see. The ick. Like he gives me the ick? Yes. So, yeah. He clapped when the plane landed and I got the ick. Yeah, I've heard that. Have you? I don't think I've heard that. Like he just makes you feel like... Yeah. It's just... Like if somebody you have a crush on, they do something. Yeah. And they're like... Attraction, attraction, gone. Yeah. Attraction, gone. Got it. Okay. All right, we're back to even. One each, one each. Okay, this one's pretty... Straight up, I think you'll

get it. Something is sus. Oh, suspect. Yeah, suspect. You're acting a little sus over there, Charlie. George is a little sus behind the scenes of this podcast. Perfect. That's sending me. Sending you where? Is that like a replacement for triggering? No, that's just... No. Like, sending me? Like, is that, like, irritating me? Or, like, making me uncomfortable? That TikTok is sending me. That's not sending? That TikTok? Oh, it's making you happy? Like, it's, like,

getting you going? Like, I'm dead. Hilarious. Oh, Jesus. It's sending me. Why don't you say, I'm just dead? That's also, you know, I'm dead. You say it's sending me? Yeah. That's sending me. You do? You use this in everyday life? Probably more in a text than I would in, like, my vocabulary. Yeah, and not with us. So if Charlie sends me, like, one of those. Oh, I'm sorry. I wonder if

there's a delay here. But if Charlie sends me, like, one of his funny golf Instagram reels or something, and I'm, like, dying laughing, I'd be like, man, that sent me, or that's sending me. Like, how would I? Okay. It's just no more of the LMFAO kind of thing. No more laughy face emoji? No more laughy face about the crying emoji? No, definitely not. The crying emoji is out. Can we do, like, oh, when did it go out? Okay, never mind. We're not going to go out on that

road. That's my go -to. Okay, kind of in the same vein, it hits different? Yeah, like something is better in a certain situation. That's what she said. Iced coffee hits different. Or, you know, whatever. Opposite. Slept on. Underestimated. Slept on that? Yeah. That's a pretty popular one. We're all over this. We're all over this. A couple kids over here. Eight. And adjacent to that, left no crumbs. Oh, what in the... So ate, A -T -E, was what you said. Yep. Like you

ate dirt, like you fell. Please use innocent. Let me think. Like she ate that performance. Oh, crushed it. Oh, so I killed it? Yeah. And then left no crumbs is like... It was perfect. The most perfect performance. Eight left no crumbs. Eight left no crumbs. Okay. Yeah. All right. Okay, cool. There's also kind of with this, a lot of times used with that is the term mother. Isn't that what people call Taylor? Some people do. I think it goes more with Beyonce, but. Maybe

it is Beyonce, I was thinking. It's like mother ate that. It's just like a term of endearment, I think. So like for an older lady? Like a queen. A queen? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. So it's calling someone mothers, like giving them praise. Yes. Yes. Like they're the boss. But queen's not a thing anymore? Queen is kind of dying. Queen and slay. Yas and all that I think are kind of on their way. Yas queen. It's on the men's. It's going down. Okay. Cap? No cap. No

lie. It's the truth. No cap is the truth. And then obviously cap would be you're lying. I was waiting for that one. There's another one I'm waiting for. What was that? Throw shade? Oh, throw shade on somebody? Yeah, you're throwing hate on somebody? You're making fun of somebody? Yeah, talking about someone. Yeah, talking trash on someone. Talking trash. The only other one I have is adding ing to everything. So, like,

I would say the math is mathing. When, like, things are adding up, I'd be like, the math is mathing. Your math is not mathing. Yeah, your math is not mathing. If my bangs look really good, I would say the bangs are banging. It's like they're doing something. If the directions are working, your map is mapping. Yeah. That was very down -to -earth. If your microphone's working really good, the mic is micing. The mic is micing. Yeah. I mean, you guys aren't really

creating anything new, though. No. This has kind of been there. You just... They're just... Cap, I don't get. That's all I have. Cap, I haven't heard. I mean, Michael J. Fox did this back in Back to the Future. The flux capacitor is fluxing. I mean... Yeah, okay, yeah. This has been around since the dawn of time. I was waiting for op. Op? Yeah, Charlie's an op. What are you trying to say? Call of Duty term? No. Well, like...

Isn't it, like... this is what my daughter taught me isn't it but there's a there's a funny dude on instagram that does like uh yeah it's like you're you're an opponent like a slang term that is often used to refer to the opposition or opponent like this dude always calls his mom an op in these funny things he's like oh you're doing too much you are bro you're doing and then that's just the generation you're doing too much In

just Gen Z alone. Yeah. Me being the older version of Gen Z versus her on the other end of Gen Z. I start to feel old now sometimes. The Riz? You got the Riz? Riz. You know, the Riz comes out from time to time. It's there. Keep it contained for the most part. But every once in a while, you gotta let that Riz out. He can't contain you? Come on. I only hope to control you. Alright, well, you got any more? Nope, that was my list. Man. I've learned a lot. I forget most of the

ones I didn't know. But now when you hear it, you'll be like, oh, I've at least, you know, heard that. It'll take us a couple minutes to catch up. Then we'll throw in a dad joke somewhere and ruin it completely. Ruin everything. Yeah, for sure. My 11 -year -old has been calling me, me and my wife, bro a lot lately. It doesn't stop anytime soon. I have to look at my mom and say, I'm not your bro. I am your father. She's like, bro, no chill. No chill. What? You don't

even know what you're saying. All right, so real quick, let me bring something to the table here, wild card. With two questions, two -parter. With Halloween just passing and Thanksgiving coming up, top Halloween candy and top food item at Thanksgiving. Give it to me. All right, ladies first. Okay, candy. Top Halloween candy. Halloween candy. My favorite candy bar is Heath, but I feel like you probably don't get that much on

Halloween. You don't really get those because usually it's those packages that have the mini size. I'm just going to be basic and probably say Snickers. I like the peanut with the salty and sweet with the chocolate. Classic choice. Not the classic choice, Jordan. And they're good in the bite size. The bite size is, like, the perfect. Sometimes the bite size, like, it's not enough. But eat a couple of those. I feel like it's fun. Oh, you're definitely eating more

than one. Yeah. And then Christmas food. Okay. Actually, my favorite thing. Oh, Thanksgiving. Same thing. It's the same food. Am I going, like, should I pick a side? One item. that has to be there every year and everything else possibly could change? What is the one you cannot give up? I love stuffing. Cornbread stuffing. Stuffing fan. I feel like I don't forget stuffing any other time besides Thanksgiving and Christmas. Everything else I feel like I could have at any

other time. Yeah. I like it. My Mimi's cornbread stuffing, specifically. Oh, Mimi. Slap a little gravy on that stuffing. All right. I think after getting the dad tax last night on all of the candy, you know, there's a lot of favorites in there. I got to say, I really like, and I'm going back to our candy bar draft here, like a big fan of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. But when they roll out these little pumpkin things, pumpkin

Reese's Peanut Butter, oh, man. smash like five of them together and eat them like it's not it's not attractive at all um that or the uh those little dum -dum suckers like the and not dum -dums they're actually like a miniature version of a blow pop so it's like a mini sucker with a piece of gum in it they do the mini ones with the gum oh yeah well i my daughter got some and i stole them all of them yeah dead tax is real i mean that tax is she don't understand it's

like give me a third I get first dibs to go through and pick out what I want. Do you? No, that's what I'm saying. That's an automatic rule. She's been pretty good to me the last couple of years. She's looking for the things that I like at some of the houses. Nice. There's a couple of houses that have full -size candy bars. She's like, look, Dad, you can have the first one, and then I'll get the next full -size, and we'll just kind of rotate. I'm like, how much money do you

want? What do you want? Yeah. Like, what do you need? What are you going to ask me for? Another pair of sneakers? Let's go shopping and use that girl math. Yeah. There you go. Okay, so Thanksgiving. I mean, I love all the classics, but we do one thing. It's called Corn Flake Cheese Potatoes. And we've been doing it since, like, I was, like, middle school. Is it like a hash brown casserole? So, yeah, shredded potatoes, right? Hash brown casserole. All the cheese, and then you bake

it with corn flakes on top. Yeah, it's got like the cream of mushroom in there with it usually that mixes it together. It just takes you back. It's good. Yeah, that's a throwback. I could literally eat that every single day. I mean, none of my clothes will fit, but it would be worth it. It's good. What about you, Shwell? Man, you know what? The mini -sized Twix bars hit different. Did you get the green ones? There you go. They hit different. Did you try the little

green ones yet? The green ones? The monster ones for Halloween. No. Do they taste any different or are they just green? They're just green. I swear there's a little bit hint of mint to it, but my daughter thinks I'm crazy. Interesting. You get the little main Twix bars and those make me happy on Halloween. I don't know. I would choose other candy bars over them full size, but when it comes to what you get typically on Halloween, because it's always Hershey's, Snickers.

M &M's, Twix, Reese's. Those are the most... Mr. Goodbar, for some reason, makes a crazy appearance on Halloween. Why is Mr. Goodbar... 364 days out of the year, then on Halloween, all of a sudden, Mr. Goodbar's like, hey, I'm here, guys. I'm here to party. Those mixed bags. You'll always find them. Man, Thanksgiving. I just... Couldn't imagine a Thanksgiving without, I mean, it's boring as hell, but mashed potatoes, dude. I

just love mashed potatoes so much. But the problem is, is that is accompanied with rolls, with home -baked, homemade, big, fluffy dinner rolls with mashed potatoes and gravy. It's just, do you need to use your fork? You're using pieces of the roll to get your mashed potatoes. Yeah. The roll is the, it's the, it's the tool. Wait, let

me ask you this. mr kansas city and barbecue have you ever taken barbecue sauce put it on mashed potato and mixed it in and drop a little shredded cheese on top and then use your roll not on purpose but not on purpose but like on a plate full of food yes barbecue sauce has gotten combined with the mashed potatoes and you know but like never purposely but yeah but not on not on purpose no we did this one thing where it was like a smashed potato recipe right with

the skin and stuff in it oh yeah so good and then yeah hit a little couple drops of the the barbecue the old bbq a little cheese and then you just go real fat kid style it's it's delicious potatoes might be one of the most versatile foods there is out there oh yeah thousand percent it's it's gotta be i mean i wish i could again another thing i wish i could have like every day just doesn't really work it's okay round the pot It's on the food. It's on the old school food pyramid.

You got to get our starches in, right? We're all starches to Thanksgiving with our picks. Do you need 15 pounds of starches? Have you ever gone back to look at the food pyramid that we learned when we were kids, Charlie? It is horrendously wrong. It's so bad. Might as well just turn it upside down. Yeah, exactly. So is that all you got for us? Is that it? That's all I have, yeah. That wasn't as bad. I was scared. I was really scared. I mean, we did pretty well. Yeah, you

guys did a good bunch. Yeah, we did great. We still need to work on learning our girl math, but the slang made up for it. We understand the principles behind it. I just don't agree with it. I mean, yeah, I see where you guys are. You guys are grasping at straws there. I don't... I just... I might want to shake you. I digress. All right, well. I guess this is another... That's a quick, easy one, huh? Quick and easy Value Nation episode. Thank you, Jordan, for making
