James Dooley: Digital marketing lead generation. Let's say I am a digital marketing company and one of the biggest pain points I have is acquiring new customers. Maybe I'm only relying on word-of-mouth marketing. What are some strategies you would be doing right now, James? Kasra Dash: There are lots of different digital marketing strategies you can use for any business. You could be a plumber or an electrician, and in my opinion, doing digital marketing lead generation is very important. The majority of tradespeople are still doing leaflet drops, billboard advertising, TV ads and radio ads when they should be looking towards digital marketing lead generation services, such as using fatrank.com, which is a lead generation service. What they do is run social media ads like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, and they also do organic SEO on websites that are ranking. If someone is searching in Google for specific keywords that can turn into profit, it could be PPC as well. There are lots of different strategies within digital marketing that can be used to generate leads for various companies. James Dooley: What are some KPIs you would be looking at? For example, if you narrow it down to SEO, PPC or Facebook ads — what KPIs would you be putting in? Kasra Dash: In certain industries, demand generation such as Facebook or Instagram ads can work well. However, for someone like a locksmith, you wouldn’t run Facebook ads because you won’t catch them at the right time. If they are locked out of their car or house, they won’t scroll Facebook and see an ad. They will search “locksmiths near me” or locksmiths in their area and call immediately. So PPC and SEO, in my opinion, are the best types of leads you can generate. PPC can be very expensive though. If you don’t know what you’re doing, you can overspend, fail to add negative keyword lists or have competitors and bots clicking on your ads. You have to be careful with PPC. With SEO, once you have organic rankings, you have a consistent flow of enquiries coming through.
