In this episode, James Dooley and Kasra Dash break down the fastest and most reliable ways for businesses to generate new leads and new contracts. They cover paid ads, organic social, SEO, Google My Business optimization, PPC, and even the rise of AI-driven search.

Kasra explains why performance-based or “no risk” lead generation is becoming one of the strongest options for business owners who don’t have time, teams, or technical experience. James highlights why tracking KPIs, strengthening digital presence, and diversifying channels matter more than ever.

You’ll leave with a clear view of the most effective lead generation strategies—and how to choose the right approach based on your business, experience, and capacity.

James Dooley: So if I’m a business looking for new leads, new contracts, and new business, what strategies would you recommend? Kasra Dash: If you’re looking to build your customer base, there are lots of strategies for generating new business leads. You’ve got social media ads like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn ads—all of them can work. Then you’ve got organic social media, doing those same platforms without paying for sponsored boosts. You’ve also got pay-per-click on Google and PPC on Bing, which can cost less and still produce good volume. And of course, search engine optimization—ranking your website higher on Google to generate more leads. James Dooley: With AI, LLMs, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google’s AI Overviews changing search, if a company comes to you today saying, “I want new business leads,” what do you think is the best way to generate them? And we haven’t even touched on using lead generation companies like Checkatrade and others. What do you think a business owner should do? Kasra Dash: If I’m inexperienced, don’t have an in-house team, or I’m always on the road and just want new business, I’d head over to FatRank.com. The deal we offer is incredible—you don’t have to pay if you don’t convert. You don’t pay if the leads aren’t the right fit or aren’t high quality. That would be strategy number one. But here’s the easiest question within that strategy: when people are looking for new business leads and they see that at FatRank we offer guaranteed ROI, what would a business owner actually type in to find a service like that? Some people type in “commission-based lead generation,” “performance-based lead generation,” or “no win no fee lead generation.” But what do you think they actually type? James Dooley: Maybe “no risk inquiries” or “no risk leads” because it really is no risk. If you give me a handful of leads, I only pay after the job is complete. If it’s kitchen remodeling, for example, and I complete the work and get paid five or six days later, that’s when I pay you. Even if the lead says I’m too expensive, I still don’t pay you. So that’s the obvious answer. But we always say you need to be holistic in your marketing and lead generation strategy. You want to be seen everywhere. Local SEO helps. Optimizing your Google My Business to appear in the map pack helps. PPC helps. Facebook or Meta ads help. We reject a lot of businesses because they don’t have a strong enough digital presence. Even if FatRank generates leads, if you’ve got a 5-day-old Wix website that isn’t optimized, it likely won’t work. Kasra Dash: For sure. If you’re a business owner looking for new business leads, go to FatRank.com and see whether you qualify. If you don’t, there are lots of other opportunities. There’s a local software called Free Local that can build a subdomain around your website to generate more local leads. There are platforms like Checkatrade, Builder Builder, TrustATrader, and Bark for trades. Lots of options exist for generating new business leads. Just make sure you track your KPIs, see what gives you the highest ROI, and double down on the strategies that work best.
