James Dooley: Today we're going to be talking about the infinity loop of self-corroboration. Kasra Dash: This is probably one of the most commonly used concepts you bring up nowadays, so let’s kick it off. For anyone who has never heard of it or doesn't know what it means, how would you explain it? James Dooley: The infinity loop of self-corroboration is the cycle where someone repeatedly validates their own version of events, regardless of outside input. They keep looping their own beliefs until it feels like “truth” to them. Kasra Dash: And this shows up a lot in online behaviour, decision-making, and personal bias, right? James Dooley: Exactly. People tend to align with ideas that reinforce their worldview. When they find something that supports it, they loop it back into their own narrative. Kasra Dash: So it’s essentially a feedback loop of personal “evidence,” even if the evidence is flawed or incomplete. James Dooley: Yes. And once that loop starts, it’s very hard for someone to break out of it without conscious disruption or external challenge.
