Episode description

In this episode, Kasra Dash and James Dooley break down one of the most important distinctions in modern lead generation: the difference between shared leads and exclusive, real-time leads. As more businesses chase growth and efficiency, understanding this difference can significantly influence sales performance and revenue outcomes.

James Dooley explains how shared lead generation—where the same lead is sold to multiple competitors—creates a race to the lowest price. Sales teams end up battling over prospects who are already overwhelmed with calls, resulting in poor conversion rates and wasted ad spend. Kasra Dash highlights a recent client case where shared leads led to high volume but low results, stressing how common this issue has become across industries.

The conversation shifts to why exclusive lead generation delivers stronger ROI. With exclusive, real-time leads, a business is the only company contacting the prospect. This allows sales teams to control pricing, maintain profit margins, and dramatically increase their chances of winning the customer. James Dooley reinforces that exclusivity plus real-time delivery is the strongest combination for predictable conversions.

Businesses struggling with inconsistent lead quality or low close rates will find this episode especially insightful.

Kasra Dash: So today I'm joined with James, and a big word at the minute is exclusive lead generation. That's what a lot of businesses want, and that's what many businesses think will be useful to help scale their operations. So for anyone who doesn't know what exclusive lead generation is or what it means, what is it, James? James Dooley: Exclusive leads are where you send the leads through to one company. It’s the opposite of sharing leads. A lot of people who do shared leads send the same lead out to four or five different contractors or different companies. And when that happens, it's normally a race to the bottom on price. You’ve got to be very cheap in the way that you're selling it. But with exclusive leads, you're the only one that's getting that enquiry, which means you can hopefully win the job at the price you actually want to be at. And in my opinion, real-time exclusive leads are the best form of lead generation you can have. Kasra Dash: Yeah. And the reason why we're doing this video is because we recently had a client who was using shared lead generation. They were getting a load of leads, and their sales team was phoning up all of them. But like you were saying before, it’s a race to the bottom. You're sharing the same lead against yourself and maybe five or six of your competitors. Kasra Dash: And I also feel like the conversion rate — turning that potential lead into a paying customer — is actually a lot lower when it's shared compared to when it’s exclusive. When multiple companies are calling them, the prospect is overwhelmed, and the chances of closing the deal drop massively. Kasra Dash: So if you guys are having any of those issues with your leads — if you're paying two or three different lead generation companies and still not getting good results — then head over to fatrank.com. We actually provide exclusive lead generation. Fill in the form, and the team will get back in touch with you. James Dooley: Yeah, exactly. If you want predictable results, real-time exclusive leads are the most effective way forward. Thanks for watching.
