Well, hello. Take your pants off, girl. Take my pants off. Oh, I know. So I'm wearing. This is late night. We went to dinner. We went to dinner and I am wearing jeans. We went to supper club, which isn't really supper club anymore. It was only three people. Yeah. It's OK. People have things to do, but I get it. It does suck because we haven't had real supper club in like it's like very long. Have no. Has it been a full supper club, though?
Spence, it's like Lisa wasn't there in February. Oh, well, but she usually shows up. Yeah. OK. Well, it's been like since Christmas, January. Was that in January? Yeah. Like the one we did. It was the first. Yeah. The first weekend in January. Anyway, so we went to supper club and I wore jeans because it was raining and actually was not hot. No, it was surprising. Yeah. And I mean, it was hot, but it wasn't like terrible. So we go and we're in jeans and these
jeans are actually not that tight, but they're still jeans. I hate jeans. And they're stretchy. They feel like jeggings. I don't think I've ever worn jeans to your house to record. No. If you did, I'd be like, take them off. Just like you did. She told me I was like, oh, I came. I wish I wasn't wearing jeans right now. And she's like, take your pants off. Well, take them off. Oh, my God. So tonight we had a great time. Oh, my gosh. This is like,
I don't know. It's just one of those things where when Emily said she was going to do what she was going to do, I was like, I didn't think anything would come of it. I really thought it was going to be not necessarily a negative response, but just not as much interest and participation as what came out of it. I did too. And it was fun. It was so good. Yeah. We're going to hopefully try to do this more. But tonight, oh, we got some good. So should I share?
Should we just do the FMK first? We can do the FMK and then get into it. All right. Jump into that, I think. All right. So sandwiches, bagels and wraps. Rieps. OK, so like a bagel sandwich, though, you mean? Or just a plain bagel with like cream cheese? I mean, that's up to you, I guess. Is it? Let's call it a bagel sandwich then. OK, because a wrap is like a wrap sandwich. And a sandwich is a sandwich. OK, it depends on my mood. This is hard. I love a bagel. Love
a bagel. But they're like 10,000 calories. I could not. I would be thicker than thick AF. Oh, 100 percent. But if it didn't matter. Yeah, they're so good, though. I just like plain bagels with a cream cheese or plain bagel with butter. Yeah. But it has to be salted butter, not like that butter. Oh, agreed. People at Brandon buys unsalted butter. Well, because he's cooking and stuff. A huge issue with that. It's a big issue. I don't bake, so I don't need unsalted butter.
Yeah, but he doesn't bake either. No shit. So why is he buying? Why the fuck are you buying unsalted butter? Salted butter is what makes everything taste good. If I'm not if it's not salted, I'm not putting it in my food because I'm not eating it. It's the same thing to me as buying off brand toilet paper. I sent him to Walmart one time. I'm not kidding. I'm I'm a brand whore. I like specific kinds of mayonnaise and specific. Dukes. I like Dukes and Hellmann's. I don't really like anything else.
I got Kewpie mayo at Costco. Kewpie? What is that? Yeah, it's that like Asian mayo that people are like using in all their like sushi bakes and stuff like that. I have no idea and I don't care. Well, I saw it at Costco and I was like, I have to try this. When I opened it and tried it, I was like, I am disappointed. What did it taste like? Maybe an unpopular opinion. I don't it has like too much vinegar in it or something. I don't I don't like the ones that taste like like like mayonnaise,
like vinegary, I guess. I don't think that you would like this one. I did put it on a wrap today because I was like, I have to eat it with something like I can't just eat it plain and that be my judge of character or whatever. I ate it. It wasn't terrible, but it could have been much better like Dukes. Okay, so let me get back to the bagel sandwiches and wraps. FMK, I'm going to marry the sandwich because a sandwich it will never let you down. Well, it might if they have the
wrong bread, but we're not talking bread here. Okay, we're talking sandwich. So the bread, you have to write the right bread. You have to write stuff, but the bread doesn't have a hole in it. And so if you have like certain things like it's never gonna let you down. So I'm going to marry the sandwich. I'm going to fuck the bagel because there's a hole in it. You know,
do, do, do, do, and, um, and I'm going to kill the wrap. Unfortunately, I do like wraps, but it depends on the wrap and a lot of times the wrap breaks and it's like, just, it's just, I like carbs. Same. If I'm on a diet, then I'm going to marry. I'm going to, no, I'm not. I'm still marrying the sandwich. Cheat day. I'm probably going to do the exact same thing. Um, if it was just a bagel and not like a bagel sandwich, I might marry the bagel because like,
I don't really like a whole lot of shit on my bagels. Not necessarily. I mean, unless it's like a, like good ass, like bagel place or something, but like, I mean, I'll, I love some bagels and locks or like bagels with like locks and like, like the cream cheese and the salmon and the, and the capers and stuff. Yes. I'm not eating a bagel sandwich without cream
cheese on it. If you think for one second, like I will with butter, maybe well with butter, but I'm saying like, if you think I'm going to like go to a bagel shop and get a pizza bagel, you've lost your fucking mind. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Eat a fucking pizza. I mean, I'd eat it if I had to, but well, it'd probably be good, but no, it's my bagel. I'm not going to have cream cheese on it. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I love cream cheese. Like I like cream cheese in my sushi. Speaking of
bagels, I have to interrupt this for just one second. Okay. I was supposed to do this in the beginning and I forgot about it, but I have to give a really, really, really big congratulations. Why speaking of bagels? Cause they're from Canada? No, cause the last time, because the last time that me and DP went and like had a meal was at the bakery after like hangover one day. But no, my best friend since I was in like third grade got engaged. He's getting engaged this weekend. So it will air
next Wednesday. Congratulations. Hey, we should not say that. We need to change this now because she's not supposed to know that you know. She's going to know when they call me and tell me that then then she'll know. I know. Okay. Well, congratulations. Exactly. And she loves our podcast. So she's our favorite Canadian. Is she from Canada? Yeah. Oh my God. That's why we have Canadian people showing up on our analytics. I was wondering who's from Canada that we know.
It's all her. Okay. Cool. Love you guys. Congrats. Congratulations. I've never met you, but I will can't wait to. Okay. So, so what are you doing next? Okay. I am going to do breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I'm going to marry breakfast. I'm going to fuck dinner. I'm killing lunch. What the hell? Like I love breakfast cause I'll also eat anything. Well, you're going to have breakfast. Me too. I'll eat pasta for breakfast. It's the best. And it's better to eat pasta for
breakfast. So you burn it off during the day. A hundred percent. Couldn't agree more. I don't give a shit about lunch. I'd rather have a snack at lunch than have like a lunch meal. I mean, I'll eat a lunch meal, but don't get me wrong, but I'm not like dying for it. No, but I really like breakfast. I like breakfast because it breaks my fast. Break fast. Jokes for the nine o'clock hour. That was a dad joke. Yeah, exactly. Okay. What else? Ketchup, gravy or hot sauce? Ketchup,
gravy and hot sauce. Those don't all go together, but I'm marrying. All right. Well here, let me change it up. I'm killing ketchup, I'm fucking hot sauce and I'm marrying gravy. Okay. Well, I am doing literally the same again. What the hell? I don't like ketchup. Ketchup is gross. I do like hot sauce though. All right, we're going to do this one. You're going to hate me for it too. Okay. Weed, booze and sugar. Sugar. How does that have to do anything with weed and booze? I don't know,
man. That's what it says. I'm going to kill the weed because it's illegal in Alabama at the point and you know how that goes. I'm going to marry the booze and I'm going to kill the sugar. Why would I? I don't even like sugar. I don't even drink regular Mountain Dew only diet. Just saying. What are you going to marry the sugar? No, I'm marrying the alcohol, killing the sugar and fucking the weed. Yeah. I don't give a shit about sugar. I mean, I know that there's sugar in alcohol,
but I don't care about sweets and candy and soda and stuff like that. So. Yeah, no, gross. I don't like that stuff. I don't even like cake. I think cake's the dumbest thing. For her birthday, we can't get her a cake. Like, Oh my God. One time I was like, did anybody get her a cake? And then she doesn't like, and I'm like, I don't, I don't care if you got it. It doesn't matter that she doesn't like cake. You still have to get her a freaking cake for her birthday. She doesn't have
to eat it. You still have to get it. Okay. Doesn't matter what it is. Get her a cupcake, get her cookie cake, get her a freaking brownie. Who cares? No, I hate brownies. It's her birthday. Get it for her. Dumbest thing ever. Cheesecake. Who even knows? I like cheesecake, cookie cake, and pumpkin pie. And yeah. I don't like pumpkin pie, but my mom makes really amazing pumpkin pie. You should try it. Will you bring me some when you get home from Thanksgiving? Yeah, I will for Thanksgiving. Yeah,
I will. It's, I'll make her, I'll make her make you a whole pumpkin pie. Oh my God. I would die. She usually gives them away. Brandon bought me two pumpkin pies last year at Thanksgiving. He bought them? Oh yeah. My mom makes them. A sweet potato pie and a pumpkin pie. Oh, I love a sweet potato pie. But honestly, I don't really like a sweet potato pie. I'll eat like two bites of it and I'm good. But okay. So tonight, tonight is the night. I don't know the words to the song that I was gonna sing.
I don't even know what you were gonna sing either. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh my God. Okay. So tonight we went to dinner. As she transitions into Made More Candy for time number 7,421. That was Made
More Candy. Okay. But it sounded similar, didn't it? Right. Okay. So tonight we were at Supper Club and at the end of Supper Club, I don't know how this came up, but I was like, oh, so I have a friend a while back who has given us a, he gave us a question at, I was at a bar and I had him record it for me. I was like, we're gonna record your question. And so I was like, this is a good idea. We should go
out and like start like pulling the people, society, the community. And so tonight I was like, oh yeah, we're gonna talk. Our friend was like, who, what are y'all gonna talk about when you record tonight? And I'm like, we don't know, but we're gonna talk about this one thing that one of our friends did. But I was like, let me go, there was this group of guys at this table next to us. I'm gonna go over here and see if they'll let us talk to them and ask them, like see if they'll let me like ask
some questions and record them. So fortunately these guys were like super good and they were so nice and they were, they got really into it and they kind of gave us some questions for it and for things or like topics for things to talk about. So here we go. We're gonna, we're gonna start off with, we're gonna start off with Eric. Yeah. He is first, the others we will not name. All right. Eric has a question for the blockheads. What, at what point will men be allowed to wear
leggings in public? So the question was at what point will men be allowed to wear leggings in public? And my, my thoughts are on this that they already do. Pretty much joggers are leggings basically. So they do, they got like, like the professional athletes and stuff do, but they wear, a lot of them wear like shorts over them or whatever. Okay. But I think what they're saying
is when will be men be able to wear leggings in public and like women do. Cause remember back in the day and a lot of you young people don't know, but we weren't allowed to wear leggings unless we had like a shirt or a dress on. We used to wear leggings with a dress and it looks ridiculous. We would look like frumpy weirdos. Don't you remember that? That was never a goal of mine to wear an outfit like that. But I wore them all the time and I wore them, but the leggings cut off at
like right after my calf, at my calf. Yes. They were like pedal pusher leggings. And then you would wear a dress that was like barely long enough to like cover your cooter and your butt. Yes. And it was like a shirt dress. And then you would wear like wedge sandals. Or you, or in the winter you would wear like boots. Yeah. But like almost like a baby doll top that was like a little bit longer than like your normal top. Or you would wear the shirts with the,
with the leggings and then you would have like the thick belt. Yeah. So bad. Oh man. Well, I can tell you that Brandon reacted to this. I let him listen to it last night. So I was like, we, like we, we want you to ask a question, like, cause I wanted him to participate. And when I played that form, his immediate response was never.
Of course. But my thing, you know, women, I remember when leggings became, people were like not okay with girls wearing like just leggings with like a t-shirt that doesn't cover your butt. Or if it didn't cover your butt, they were like offended. And I was like, these are still pants. Yeah. Okay. I do get it. Like back in the day, leggings were really thin and they weren't made to like squat proof or whatever. Yes. If they're like workout pants or yoga pants or whatever that
are not see-through. I mean, I've worn. That's like all I wear ever. I know me too. And I've worn yoga pants with like a crop top before. I wear yoga pants and don't cover my butt, like every day. A hundred percent. My coochie and my butt are not covered. My coochie, it doesn't have a camel toe, but when I put my black jeans on tonight, I put them on and I looked in the mirror and I had a huge camel toe. So if you want to see
something nasty, make me wear jeans. Okay. So Eric, I'm sorry to say, probably never, but you guys email us and let us know if you think that you think that men are able to, when will men be able to wear leggings? But first of all, okay, let me just go back and say. I want to go back as well. I want to go back and say, you know what, Eric, if you want to wear leggings, you wear leggings. You do you boo boo. And I hate saying that. Right. I was going to say,
because like, I mean, Eric's like a big burly dude, you know? Like if you feel comfortable and you're like secure and whatever, and you want to wear leggings and let your junk hang out, fucking do it, bud. Who cares? And that's what women used to say to us when we started wearing leggings. If we wanted to let our cooters and our butt hang out, not buttholes. I don't know why I almost said butthole. Not butthole. Anyways, you know what I mean? No booty holes. But yeah, Eric,
wear your leggings. And you know what? I'm sure Dana will be happy to laugh at you when you wear your leggings out in public next time. So fair. Dana, I love you. I'm sorry if he wears them. Anyway. All right. Moving on to the next subject slash question slash whatever it is. So I'm just, I'm presenting something that y'all might can run with, right? So today we have one, we have one woman on our executive leadership team, right? And so she has a couple of females
underneath her that it's constant back and forth, right? Cat fighting, so on and so forth. So maybe y'all could explore why do women in the workplace not work well together? Oh my God. Do you think that they don't? I know that they don't. Okay. You know that they don't. So I feel like in my opinion, I work better with the women that I work with. Okay. You do? Yeah. So in my world though, I work in a male dominated industry. So I think
women are competing in our industry. Probably. So I think there's some of that. More common though, that the female says I work better with men, right? I mean, that's, that's a common statement, right? I mean, you hear that you don't ever hear someone say, Hey, I rather work with females. That's not a statement that may exist. Those people may exist. Depends. Depends. If that male is attracted to me, then maybe, maybe, but if they're not, then probably not.
They're going to be, if they're attracted to me, they're going to be like, Oh, you can have whatever you want and you don't have to do anything. I'll do this. I'll do this for you. Well, we'll talk about it in the podcast. You also listen. Okay. So essentially the question is this, this man that we met at the restaurant, he said he thinks that women in his workplace, at least, don't work well with, with other women and that they have like cat fights and things like that.
And it's like, they're competing together. And why is that? And in my opinion, I don't, I feel like I work better with the women. I mean, it's not, I don't know. I don't necessarily think that I have bad. It depends. It depends on who the person is, but what do you think? I have two, not two different opinions, but I sort of feel like I mostly work better with men and have been for better friends with men. Like now that I live in Birmingham, I have more female friends, but
I work, I don't know. I just think I work and I can communicate better with men. And I think it's just because I'm like a more upfront person and I don't feel shy around men because I don't care if they judge me or not, but I do care if other women judge me and I make them feel any, you know, a certain sort of way. But I also had a time period of about six months, the shortest job that I ever have in my adult career. I worked for a spa and salon and I hated it. It was all women. They
were terrible. They were all mean to each other. They were mean to me and it was the worst. So that is the thing, the culture though. So the culture of the women matters and it comes from leadership in my opinion, most of the time. Sometimes there's a bad apple and it spoils a bunch. You know what I mean? A hundred percent. But if there is a culture of women supporting, not necessarily supporting, but working well with, and I feel like me, I have Rose and this other
lady that I work with, Diane, shout out, love you. I don't know if you want me to use your name on here, but I love them. And we, I mean, they probably hate me because I text them constantly all day because I have no, I work from home and I don't have anybody to like walk into their office and be like, what the hell just happened? I text them all day long and I'm like, Hey, like today my power went out at like four or something. And I was like, did y'all's power go out? Because
I don't know what to do. I was like responding from emails from my phone because I'm like, I'm not going into the office because my power went out at four. But it's also four. Yeah. Yeah. So I agree. I mean, I think the workplace that I'm in now provides such a positive culture that the women that I work with now are, it's probably the best working relationships that I've ever had. And I, there are more women in my group now at work than I've ever had before.
I don't feel, and I think that, so I get what the guy was saying. He was saying that maybe that he works in a male dominated industry. That is leadership's fault though. Well, but for providing an atmosphere where they feel like they have to compete and be bitchy to each other. Does he, does he, is he getting the vibe that they're competing and they're not really?
Or, or what is the deal? And my, my, my, I don't, I wonder if it all comes down to women who need male attention competing for the male attention and they feel like they can't get it if this other woman gets it. Do you know what I mean? I mean, I do. I don't know. And it's like, it's like a, I think it's just, that's a weird thing to compete for in a workplace. Well, not, I'm not saying necessarily it's because of the work. I think it's maybe ingrained in us. Like,
Oh, I completely agree. I think we've talked about this before on the podcast that we are like born and raised to impress men. Yeah. That is sort of just our culture overall. Is it something necessarily that like my parents instilled in me? Absolutely not. But I think that it is our culture in general is to, you know, prove that we're just as good as man is. Well, and I also wonder like maybe because I didn't have any sisters that maybe that's, I don't know, I'm just like throwing all this stuff
out there brainstorming. Like maybe that's why I don't feel like in competition with girls, because I had two brothers and my dad, if I pooped disgusting nastiness, he would think it was gold. He might not, he does get mad at me, but like he does, like he loves me. And like, I never felt like I had to like compete for my dad's love. You know what I mean? No. And maybe I'm the opposite now that you kind of say that because I did grow up with a sister and also a single mom,
for a little while. And then my stepdad, who is very calm and level-headed and docile. Yes. So it almost is like the opposite for me where like every single day was a competition for the three of us women. For you and your sister and- And my mom. Yeah. Like who can be the funniest, the best, you know, whatever. Like maybe, like subconsciously even. Like not that every day of our lives was a competition, but like that is a complete possibility that we were competing with each other.
Right. Yeah. I mean, and it, yeah, it's not necessarily that you think you're doing it. It's just like nature, human nature. To compare yourself to one another, and then be competitive about it. Exactly. And that's how everyone is with everyone. But especially when you grow up thinking like, okay, well, my sister, this is the person that
was the most competition for me. Maybe. And also because men like female presence, normally, and not, maybe not necessarily in the workplace, but like maybe this other girl, maybe one of the girls, maybe both of those girls are very beautiful. And one or one of them is more beautiful than the other, or one of them thinks that the other is more beautiful because that's usually how it is. And they're like, oh, that person's more beautiful than me. They like her
more, or maybe she's more smart. I mean, I don't know. Like that to me, I don't ever, I don't feel that way. I have probably felt that way before when I was younger, maybe when there was like a boy that like, I don't know. I don't know. I don't feel like I've ever like tried. I'm not a competitive person for that type of reason. And I think all those guys seem to be
like about our same age or whatever. And so, I mean, I think if it depends on how old the women are that he works with in his workplace or whatever, but I mean, there's also a high possibility that they could be younger. And if they're younger, then they don't get it yet. And I think that's something that's easy for us to say because we are older. And I know that both of us
act very different than we did when we were in our mid twenties. Well, but I also, I kind of wonder if when you get older, it gets worse because sometimes older females don't like when younger females come in because they are younger and more beautiful and they bring in the, you know what I mean? Like it's like pushing out. It's like an actress. So say for instance, you've got like
some actress that is, has, was young and beautiful. They got gray and old and now they've got these new twenty somethings coming in and they're pushing them out and they don't get the parts anymore. It's, yeah, I don't know. I just wonder any more thoughts on that? No. All right. We're going to go on to the next. Emily, why don't you cuss on your podcast? Okay. I'm glad that my laugh got in there.
Okay. So the question is, um, Emily, why don't you cuss on your podcast? And my answer is, because you don't necessarily need the words to get out what you're trying to say. I'm rolling my eyes right now. I'm just telling y'all. Well, you don't. If you, if you need to say those words, it's like normally the cuss, like it doesn't, those are extra words. Like if you say, oh my God, this is killing me instead of, oh my God, this effing show is killing me or something
like that. Like those are extra words. They're, they are like adjectives or, um, I mean, I don't know the effing, I mean, they're all adjectives, aren't they? Let me ask you this question. You, I can't decide if you're going to cut this or not because you have editing power and I don't. And she just told me, don't throw her under the bus, but I am going to throw her under the bus. And I think she knew that was coming. Um, but when, but you, the words that you are choosing on the
podcasts are often different than if you were not being recorded. Are they though? Yeah. So no, like, I mean, I might accidentally not, but it's on purpose, I guess when I'm doing it, but I might throw out a curse word every now and then, sorry, mom and dad. But if I am in the heat of the moment and I say something like, I'll be like, oh my God, you know, this or that. And, but when I'm on here, I'm not trying, I'm choosing my words because first of all, not everybody needs to say that.
Okay. And that's what I was going to say. Absolutely. I completely agree with you. I guess I, and I don't know if I want to say like, I'm less concerned about my word choices. I just, I don't think I feel the same way that you feel about the cursing or whatever, because I do have a potty mouth. I'll completely admit that. Are there scenarios in my life where I know that I have to censor myself and it's something that, you know, I have to be conscious of? Yes. At work,
in front of my dad, at least. Like, I don't know that I've ever said the F word in front of him. He said it in front of me one time in his whole life. So there are definitely scenarios where I know that I have to be, you know, more conscious, but on a regular basis and on this podcast, I don't give a fuck. Well, so my parents curse in front of me constantly. My brother is cussed in front of my parents constantly. But so I don't know if I ever told you this story about when I
was little. There was this one time I was at band camp, not a band camp, I was at home. There was this one time I was at home, me and my little brother, Daniel, our bedrooms are like, the hallway upstairs in the, in our pair, my parents' house are like, it's like this long hallway and it goes down. It's like, it starts with their bedroom and then there's like the staircase area and then you walk by and then on our bedroom doors, Daniel and my bedroom doors
were like parallel or what do you call it? Perpendicular. No, not perpendicular. A a so whatever the word is now they were across the hall from each other. Why didn't you just start with that? They were across the hall, like legit. There's another word for it and I can't remember it and it's not the F word. Across the street. And then down the hall was our bathroom
and then Eric's room is down at all at the end. Okay, so and the stairs were like right by, like you come up the stairs and you go around and then my bedroom's there and then Daniel's bedroom's there. It's like right by the stairs and we're yelling at each other. I don't know what we're gonna fight about. We're fighting at each other and but in my parents' bedroom,
if you look down the hall, you can see my parents can see everything that we do. Like unless we're in our rooms or whatever, you know, and I we're running up we're running up the stairs yelling each other mad at each other and Daniel calls me the B word. What's the B word? Bitch. Okay. Okay. Daniel called it to me when we were like seven. Okay, we were like really young. I don't know. We might have been nine or ten and Daniel calls me that and I was like appalled and I was like,
are you kidding me? And so I gave I didn't even say anything. I gave him the finger and I did it in my my body was inside my bedroom and my arm was outside of the bedroom and my dad saw it down the hallway. I think it was my dad. It was my dad and oh if I didn't get but oh my think my mom saw it too. I don't know. It was my mom or my dad and I got in trouble but I told them that Daniel called me the B word and that that's the only reason I did it and all it
was was my finger, you know, and they were like but it's not okay because you're a lady. Daniel didn't didn't get in trouble. I did. So this is all ingrained in me for as a child of Emily, you're not allowed to do that because you're a girl and you need to be keep sweet, pray and obey but Daniel can do it because he's a boy and they're allowed to but yeah so it's ingrained in me to like not do these things and I don't press inverted on my parents. I do. I will say it like if I'm like
repeating somebody else's words or like maybe if I'm really mad but like I try not to do that. I've said the F word in front of your parents and your mom didn't say shit today. Well because she doesn't care because she'll say the F word too and she doesn't mind it. My parents are not against it. My mom would want you to say the F word if you didn't say it she would think that you're too prude
but she wants me to be prude apparently. I don't understand it. It's a very odd. I mean I guess like growing up like my mom's side of the family like they would you know drink and play cards and like you know holler and fuss and cuss at each other and it was just like normal. Well that's how it is with our family.
It was all like in fun but my dad's family was not like that and so I guess I just tried to like uphold whatever standard is you know put in front of me at the time because like I know my dad's not listening to this podcast so I'm gonna say the F word.
My parents might be listening. They don't tell me that they do but they probably do. My mom listens to the podcast and she says the F word so we're kosher there. Well my parents say the F word but they don't want me to say it. Well Donnie do doesn't care.
I'm sure honestly at this point it's like you know what I'm 35 years old and that's what the guys tonight were saying. They were like you're old and you're why are you this old and care what your parents think and I'm like it's not that I care what my parents think it's that I care what
I care how I carry myself in front of other people and I do realize that sometimes I say things that are not necessarily right but like I did tell them I was like well do you go to your job and cuss in front of your boss and cuss in a meeting because that's kind of what this is and maybe and our bosses are our listeners essentially.
It is a part time job and I guess I just have a question for you. Do I have to stop saying the F word? No I want you to be yourself but I'm being myself and I don't want other people. That's fine. My self is to not say that. I know but it's also I'm being myself when I pick at you for not saying the cuss words.
I would not tell you I wouldn't tell you to say not say it because that's the hell you are and I think it makes it good I think it's good we're like good cop bad cop except for like I'm bad cop. We need our own TV show. Can we get like some cool outfits like I don't know like Charlie's Angels but like not.
I'm wearing a whole ass spandex outfit if I ever have a TV show. Me too but mine's gonna be like uh what color mine's all black and it has to be yours is oh yes black and red but red is my power color. Red is a good I look good in red when I'm tan yeah but I haven't been tanning all the time. Oh my god. I've been tanning for years. Like a lot like 20 years. Oh lord like I look this is me tan look at my tan line I have a great tan line but it's like holy macaroni I know but I'm still white.
It's so bad. You're still not as tan as you normally are usually I don't feel like oh yeah I am oh you are yeah okay I don't know if it's the lighting in here anyways okay so my legs aren't but your legs yeah you sounded like you're from Wisconsin. Stop. Okay hold on a sec. What are the signs that you're interested in a guy working. At work. You need to let us know something.
You need to elaborate. Okay so the question is I know is what I'm saying the question is what are the signs that you are interested in a guy at work. Which this question is probably the most comical to me out of all of them because all four of them were married and so that was just like a bizarre. Other guys did I don't know if you heard in the recording they were like what you guys are saying what's going on over here.
You know well the best part was is that they kept trying to circle back to that question with the one guy and they were like if y'all are leaving that's fine but we're still gonna circle back with him. Yeah they were like we're gonna figure out what's going on with this thing and I was like oh shoot. I don't really have an answer for that because I work remote so I would have no clue if anyone was interested in me or not.
Because all I do is chat and email with people and sometimes get on a meeting. I don't know if I've ever been interested in anybody at work necessarily. I have had two people ask me on dates that were not in my department or anything when I worked in a place when I didn't live in Birmingham. One guy came to my office and like maybe I shouldn't talk about all this but like one guy called me on my phone in my office from where he was at work too.
And was like would you like to go on a date but we had already we went on a we went on like a mission trip type of thing. We actually I did go on the date with him. We went on like a mission it wasn't a mission trip. It was it was basically a mission trip for the hospital after I think it was Hurricane Katrina. Which everyone was in Texas was it Katrina Harvey Harvey Hurricane Harvey and somebody one of the hospital's employees family members lived there.
And their house got destroyed and they needed help rebuilding. So I went I was like I'm I love doing stuff like that. I love freaking a mission trip and going to do like stuff like that. I love it. It's like I know I sound like it kind of looks like I don't but like I I love that. I love team building stuff. I like going if I could go to camp like a camp. I would know they have adult summer camp. Oh my god. Where I saw on Tik Tok the other day. We need to look into that would be so fun.
I love that stuff. I like doing like all the the team building stuff. Like that's my I love it. So I went and we went to that and the guy I got to know him there. I also that's when I found out I am alert very highly allergic to insulation. Like I like threw up the vomit like vomited all over the freaking church bathroom. I don't know. There was no cleaning supplies in there. We were like the gym sleeping on like air mat twin air mattresses everywhere.
And we stayed at some church and I had to wake up. Like the hospital chaplain was the leader of our group and I had to wake her up. And I was like I don't know what to do. I need to clean this stuff up and I'm like sick. I had hives from like head to toe. From the insulation in the gym. No from the insulation from taking the insulation out from Hurricane Harvey and putting in new insulation. We had masks on. I had full I had I mean we had done all the precautions. I couldn't breathe.
I had to stop. They were like you need to go outside and get some air. Like I was having a really bad allergic reaction to it. Anyway so but yeah so that's how I learned that. But he that guy we he was really nice and he got to know me there. And also that place that I used to work was kind of like one of those places where if you met somebody at work it wasn't a big deal if you got married to them and had like 10 kids. And then those 10 kids also worked there. You know what I mean?
It was nepotism out of you. You can't have like you can't have like like five wives and then them all work there. But like you could probably but and it was a big family. I loved that place. I loved it there. But but so that guy and then this other guy asked me out on a date one time. They were both older than me and I don't know. I'm just I think I'm just meant to be single or something. The very first job that I ever had in Birmingham I dated somebody there for three and a half years.
Wait where oh yeah okay never mind we won't say where. Well yeah no we will not. So how did it go with working with somebody? I mean I was 20 years old. I wasn't even 21. Well how did you know that he was interested in you or were you interested in him? Was it a man? Yes. Okay let's make sure might be a monkey or a girl. Yes no it was a dude. Um I don't know.
I mean I was 20 years old and I was like new in Birmingham and single and like I didn't like I was friends with Jessica then but like she was you know at UAB and in a sorority and she had like a lot of shit to do and at the time I had we had a family friend who she traveled a lot and she had a dog and a cat and so I was living at home because I was going to Jeff's State and so when she would travel she would pay me to house it for her
and it was she lived you know right in like the Cobb Heights Vestavia line you know. Like where I live? Yeah she lived off Acton Road. Oh no. And so I would just house it for her all the time and one night it was back when Birmingham still had city stages. They still they don't have it anymore? I don't think so. Oh dang. I haven't been to that a long time.
Me either but one night like I mean eventually like got their numbers or whatever and I was like hey I'm like staying at this place if you like want to come stay or whatever like hang out and he was like well I'm going to city stages. I think we went out like one time before that like as a group of people from work because the person that owned this company his son worked there and they were all just like young you know late 20s guys.
It was a bunch of guys and I thrive with guys and so I just made friends with all of them and then ended up dating one for a long time. Nice. So now that you say all this stuff I'm thinking back and I'm like okay I've never like I don't think I've ever like been like oh I'm attracted to this person at work necessarily.
I'm trying to think of anybody but I have had multiple other people who have been attracted to me and I think we're going to get into this a little bit more later and some of these other questions that we were asked so I won't dive into it but like.
I mean I think it just depends on like your stage in life the industry that you're working in or whatever because I would I don't think I would ever do that now granted you and I both work remote now so like it's much harder to interact with people without it being extremely intentional but when I was in my 20s you know I thought when I started this job that it was just going to be like a summer job like I had been here for six months my dad was like you need to
get a job and then I said okay I ended up finding a full-time job and I started going to school full-time at night and that's just like what happened so I mean it was just a different situation I wasn't in a career I was in a job yeah I feel you if okay so if I had to answer this my thing and Sarah's probably completely different because and she may not think we're different like this but we are so if if there is a guy who I am attracted to I will more than likely
act like I'm not attracted to them and I will like ignore them as much as possible and I'll be like oh god I gotta go to the other room like I'm not gonna be like flirting with them all right next one ready what do single women in their 30s look for in a man who is in his 30s with like kids like kids no what does a single woman look not even with kids what does a single woman look for in a man in his 30s and how are they looking for them like bars tender
like online like how do you meet women how do you meet men in your 30s okay so the question is apparently what do women in their 30s not necessarily with kids could be with kids I guess we don't have kids look for in men and how do they find and how do we find them and the best part was let me set the scene for this because they were at this like high top table and there was four of them two on each side Emily was at one end of the table and I was at the other end of the table it
could fit like eight she immediately covers up her pair ring no I I went like this to look at you like I went like that I pointed at it I was like should I say something about that oh I thought you covered I thought you saw your hand covered up because I was like bitch that's how you are doing it no that's I pointed at it and you had this look like oh and I was like yeah this and then I we started talking and I forgot about it I'm so addy-d me I'm just like I forgot about it
but then I did talk about it later with that one guy yeah because he asked about it he was like so how does this thing work or whatever and I mean I just explained it to him and he was like well you know did he have anything to say about it no no I mean okay so so how do we meet people can we real quick while we're still on the pairing though can we do an update oh yeah so pairing I was on Instagram this morning actually and I realized I was like there was a picture of uh somebody a girl
or a guy with a purple-ish pink like a what color would you call it lavender like a lavender colored like a light purplish pink ring and I was like oh my god they got another color I was pissed and I was like why did I have to get this blue color I mean I like it but I would feel teal yeah which is a shade of bluish green oh my god I was like oh my god why didn't I get it get that so I clicked on it and I realized that they have made an lgbtq ring so there is now another one so there's a
single slash straight which is the teal right like a Tiffany's blue kind of color right isn't that what that would you call that yes and then there's this like lavender purplish pink color that is for lgbtq plus and it's like I was like oh my gosh this is really exciting I'm really sad that I don't get to wear the pink one purple pink one because I like that color right but I'm really happy that they have one like it's kind of nice because you can go out and be like people can know
that you're straight and like not looking for like you know you're looking for the opposite sex or you're looking for you know whatever agreed yeah that's that's cool because we had a friend that actually thought about something like that like a bracelet or something that lit up to say that you were like single whatever it was yeah there were yes the idea was to have like different colors that represented whatever specific status yeah it's it's cool I think this is a good idea
I wish that people more people will catch on I think that they will but we're just gonna you know hope on that so okay so how do we find women a men before you met Brandon tell me about like what you were doing to find Brandon going on bad bumble dates I mean we all know I was banned from tinder for a while so it wasn't via that but I mean I went back and forth between bumble and hinge and I mean it was all terrible and I say it's all terrible but I also have to be thankful for it
because that is how I met Brandon yeah I was actively using the dating apps do I think that the pair ring is a great idea and and like would that have been my alternative method yeah 100 percent really I'd be advertising that pairing all over the damn Instagram and everything who else has one anyone want to meet up yeah but now I got my man well advertise it for me because you know I'm bad at that you're not you can make friends with anybody a prime example tonight I know when she
walked over to that table I think neither one of us thought a whole lot would come from it and I know I said this earlier but I mean we had a great like half hour conversation with these dudes they were all married with kids and I wasn't trying to I was not trying to hit on them like they were yeah it was not like that extremely respectful to us they you know had questions about the podcast and they you know participated and just came up with some questions on the spot for us and it
worked out really well yeah and and honestly I told them I was like I'm not they were like well why do you do you not just go up to dudes like how are you actively trying to meet guys that they said and I don't know that we got it in a recording but they said we did not know that if a woman walked into a bar she could go home with any man that she wanted to but if a guy walks into a bar it is not the same situation I don't agree with that well I don't know that I agree with that either and I
think that it also is a you know sort of societal problem I guess not a problem that it's a problem that women don't like think like that because we are so used to and have been raised to sort of have men chase us and come for us and not be the aggressor and if you are the aggressor then you know sometimes it can be perceived as you're too much yeah so that's what it's like this like it's not a double standard it's a it's like a double negative or something like it's like where
I don't double negative is not the word but like it's like we are we are waiting for a man to approach us yes but if they approach us the wrong way are that men think this because they have been conditioned because of the past so many years of us of women coming and saying okay you can't say this you can't do that they're like scared I think maybe well I think that's a very fair situation when I was off of that relationship that I referenced earlier when I very first moved
to Birmingham I was just about in my mid-20s and there was a core group of us that about probably six maybe seven of us that went to the bar literally every single Friday Saturday night and we would all stand together sit together you know what have you and at one point I mean no none of us were you know picking up dudes from bars which also you know hindsight 2020 I don't want to go home with some dude from a bar and end up marrying him anyways you know why not I mean you
could but like it wasn't the bar and it doesn't mean that you're a bad person I know I'm not saying that but I'm just saying that at that time in my life I felt like the majority of the people that were there were only looking for one thing and it was to you know wake up next to you just to kick you out of the bar to look for one thing is the thing my thing is no I don't necessarily think that I feel like people say that and they're there there's this like idea that everyone's looking for
sex and everyone is essentially if you think about it marriage only thing really people want for marriage is sex and babies and sex and like to be able to have sex with the same quality time Jesus right but sex is the love and quality time like if you could have it is completely separate okay but if you you could get love and quality time from other people as well if you didn't get married right but okay so the point that was decided to say that you were hold on just one second the point
that I was trying to make was we were a large group of women and we were never approached because we were intimidating back to what you just said love and quality time and sex are not all intertwined together you are single right now and you are completely fulfilled in your life and it is because you have people that love and you know spend quality time with you and that's okay so you don't have to have that sex part in there to be you know fulfilled and satisfied in life is it
an extra bonus absolutely but it sex doesn't exist in every marriage either I mean it's part of a the demise of a lot but you don't also have to get married to have love and quality time I completely agree with you right and marriage is a Brandon don't take that any other way sir I don't know what that meant but okay because I want to get married why do you want to get married so bad a question about that I don't want to get married so bad but he is my person and I want to spend
the rest of my life with him and I told myself after for the third fucking time we're gonna talk about this damn relationship I moved in with that person that I dated for three and a half years and I got nothing from it I'm not doing that again oh so you want to get married so you can move in with Brandon basically okay I mean I'm I want not because of that but you want to be able to commit right I got you yes I want you to say this is I want you forever and I want to do life
with you outside of just those words coming out of your mouth I feel you it's just something I told myself I want to do my stepmom told me a long time ago I was gonna regret my decision to move in with him and not that I regret it he was a was is a great person we are still friendly no regards about it whatsoever but moving forward I'm not going to live with somebody again move to a different city you know possibly whatever with somebody I'm not doing that well you know my thing
is now I think about it and I've done I've moved in with somebody I've moved to a different city for some not necessarily for them but essentially yes for somebody I've done all those things and they didn't work out but I don't necessarily think that those are bad things because that could happen even if you were married and but the mayor the marriage thing is all all it's doing is making it harder for you to get away from that person if something were to go wrong I mean I think that's
fair yeah but I mean not that you need it to be harder you know what I mean but like yeah that's it's just a legal legal thing and it's a legal thing and it's a commitment well commitment should be a boyfriend and girlfriend should be a commitment as well you should you should also be able to make a commitment to somebody without having to have a legal document that says yes we're together I agree in my opinion but I get it like some and a lot of people believe that it's like under God and
and I don't know what y'all's beliefs are but you know you know that's what that is so I mean I think we want to get married because that's just like the next step in our relationship yeah cool I don't know I honestly think that y'all should have moved in together already I think that Brandon's wasting money on an apartment I agree but I won't let but I won't let him do it until he puts a ring on it well tell him to hurry up because it's ridiculous will you let him move in
if y'all are engaged yeah okay well I mean I think that yeah he can clean his apartment out you know how much more money you've had I completely agree with you but I'm not putting pressure on him not doing that he'll do it whenever he's ready well don't put pressure on him it sounds like you put a little pressure on him though I'm not we actually he and I actually have this conversation this morning and I've said the exact same thing that I'm saying now is that
that's something that I a standard that I set for myself and I stand by that and I'm not going to feel guilty for that and I don't care what anybody else thinks oh she just wants to get engaged they can move in together officially whatever no it's not it's a standard I set for myself I'm not going to uproot my life financially get used to you know having different bills or whatever because somebody else is living with me all for it to be for nothing yeah because sometimes especially if
you've been burned in the past you know but doesn't mean that Brandon's gonna burn you is no I know that yeah so anyway so I don't know if we answered that question hopefully we did we're gonna move on to the next one real quick can a woman walk in a bar and get any man she wants comparative to a man that walks in a bar and have a chance of getting slapped by one guarantee guarantee every time okay so why do why do you think that though you might be able to take a woman call me
and I've been going to bars for a long time and it's never happened so how do I do it do oh so I need to aggressively try it not aggressively try but are you trying to go like no are you sitting oh you're are you just when you were sitting over here when you said over here and you came up here and talked to us I knew if you do that we're trying to take y'all home if you do that to any other mill of four guys I didn't think that y'all were attractive I think that y'all are all very
attractive and didn't know that as soon as I got up here I saw the green but I do that I do yes if you walk up here listen if you if you would have walked to these four guys right here 10 years ago and was like hey hey you want to go home me everybody I mean you're going you have to give yourself some credit put this out there so the nerdy smart time yeah even though we may be smart right exactly you are putting too much faith that we know what to do
we're dumb as shit some people when it comes to women sometimes so you have to make the initial reasonable okay I don't really have anything to say I think that we said it all in there's already like getting her shoes on I am I'm so tired okay chill out let's do this finish this episode and we'll be done okay so we so the question what was the question it was about uh a guy not getting slapped okay so what so what was the question though walking up to a woman in a bar and not getting
slapped am I supposed to go to the bar I they're basically saying that uh we me and Sarah or any female could go into a restaurant we were in a restaurant we were not in a bar by any means at all by the way we were literally in a restaurant and I walked up to their table at the restaurant it was not a bar it was in homewood in a nice restaurant and I was like hey by the way we have this podcast can you guys answer these questions do you want to know what I interpreted from his
question what was why do women think that they don't have the power because men have always had the power I agree with you I'm just saying that is how I interpreted that is why do you why do y'all not think that you can walk up in here and get who or whatever you want because that's because we've been taught that agreed and you know what daddies teach us that and they're the gonna be the daddies so don't teach your daughters but or do teach your daughter see and that's the thing
maybe your dad maybe you're gonna teach your daughter that she shouldn't go to the bar and talk to men because they might take advantage of her or whatnot which is also a possibility so be aware of your surroundings yeah but like I don't necessarily I don't go into life thinking that somebody's gonna take advantage of me I try not to do that but I do realize that there are people that are gonna take advantage of you and they're gonna be situations that you should get away from
but I try not to look into it as because if that were the case like why would I go do anything what's the point of me even going out to dinner like what's the point of you trying to get on like a dating app like what's the point of any dating like if you think that everything is gonna be bad then well I mean I also think it's human nature to try and find the best in people so you're gonna go into a situation thinking that there's gonna be a positive outcome unless you
unless you have been burned or experienced some sort of trauma then you may have you know a higher guard up than maybe the average human yeah but you know you want to you want to think that there's good out there yeah so they they also asked me they when I first before you came out there and before Andrea came up they were like how long did it take you to get the nerve to like come over here and talk to us and I was like two seconds yeah I was like I was like none I don't have to
and I was like but I did I was like well I'm I wasn't scared like I just came right over here but I did have three martinis yeah but you're yes and they did giggle at that but like I don't know like I don't necessarily feel like it's I did I I prefaced it I was like hey I don't I hate to I don't want to interrupt you guys like your conversation or whatever but you know I have a podcast and like if you guys are willing to talk and I was like I'm not trying
to sell anything I know I did hear you say that but I do think that that whole the whole interaction proves their point to to an extent that you are some random chick they're all married but you as a female just showing up at their table being like hey I want to talk to you guys I'm sure it was a little bit of an ego boost in my opinion I feel like the married men would be more willing to speak to me than the not married men because the married men they're like I'm
married and I'm not taking you home right and they're just like this is just a fun thing to lose by anything that comes out of my mouth exactly I'm here and I am just going to talk to this girl it's fun and I'm with my buddies who are have my back like right because I'm also married and they're you know they're gonna be here to know that I didn't do anything wrong or whatnot and like but like if I had gone up to a table of single dudes they probably would have been like oh you're
ugly or something I'm not really but they probably would have judged me a different way but do you know what I think that yes they would have judged me a different way yes I agree with what you're saying and I think it's probably fair but I'm tired of you saying you're ugly I'm not saying I'm ugly but that it they would have judged me a different way yeah fair 100 but it also would have been different for them they could be living with a thousand insecurities that we know nothing about
and these other dudes got wives and kids they don't go fuck but I wouldn't have cared I still would have gone up to them I didn't know that those students were married I was like they were all attractive guys too like none of them were ugly it wasn't like I was like picking like the table of ugly dudes that I knew were gonna talk to me it was like a table of random regular attractive dudes yeah let me just Sarah did say she thought they were short but um should I take that out no
I have a tall king at home I do not care he's like seven feet tall so y'all were not I was like they weren't short I was like just because Brandon's like 100 feet tall does not mean that they're short geez and y'all did they didn't even stand up so anyways um okay that is all those are all the questions that we have today if you guys we I have so much more to say on all this stuff but Sarah's like itching to get home for that bd we're gonna let pass this on over to Sarah to tell us what
we can do with all the things all right thanks for being with us this week uh follow us on instagram thick af podcast and send us an email we had a really good time talking to these guys tonight and just getting random questions so go ahead and shoot us an email with random thoughts and questions the gay podcast at gmail.com we'll see you next week bye so so
