Today's episode is a little late if you're listening to this , if you normally listen to it way early in the morning and total transparency .

I have come down with some kind of flu and so I've been a little behind on things , and I think this is interesting because many of you have been following the journey of me submitting my certification , all of the deliverables , and they were due on Monday .

I turned them in a date early , which I thought was , you know , oh , I'm just going to like be a day early , yay me right . And then then I ended up sick on Monday , and now I know exactly why , and I think it's really important for us to talk about this a second .

So in that moment , instead of waiting until Monday and identifying with somebody who , I'm going to turn things in on the day they're due , versus a day early , I would not be in this situation I'm in now . I probably would have still pushed through , don't get me wrong .

I probably still would have done it , but I would have felt horrible doing it , and the last thing I had to do was the masterclass , and recording a masterclass when you're feverish , feeling a little delirious and feeling 100% like yourself , is not something that I would have wanted to do , but I would have done it . I know who I am .

I know I would have made it work . I just wouldn't have enjoyed it . And so I think it's interesting in anything that we want to do , like what's the identity that we connect with ? I was reading the book Atomic Habits and also doing a training for Omni VIP yesterday .

They get two individual trainings that are not sell I don't sell them anywhere and one of them was about goal setting and it was like , okay , when I take on this goal , like it's more than just saying , oh , I want to reach this goal . It's like who do I identify with in the day to day when these actions get to be taken ?

Do I get to check a box or do I get to really enjoy the journey ? And I think that's so many times what a lot of us are doing . We're checking a box because we know it has to be done versus finding the way to enjoy the process in the moment . And so in the book Atomic Habits , he reads a story and he says so , I'm going to read it .

So you have two smokers and one is offered . They're both trying to quit and one is offered a cigarette and he says no , thank you , I'm trying to stop , and the other one responds no , thank you , I'm not a smoker . Which one has started to identify with not being a smoker ?

Not the one that said trying right , because trying is anticipating failure and when we say I'm going to try something , our body feels that . Our body is going to feel that way , differently than I am not .

It's kind of like if you've listened to this podcast for any length of time , back in 2022 , when I went to FHL and Marie Forleo said I don't do overwhelm and it was interesting because I was like I don't do overwhelm .

I haven't done overwhelm in a really long time , but I like the way that she said it and I understand this and maybe this will help other people . I don't do overwhelm , I'm trying not to get overwhelmed . That's not what she said . I don't do overwhelm .

And it's like how can we identify and say things that are very concrete and very knowing in our bodies that we're no longer identifying with that Instead of I'm trying to be consistent , I am consistent AF . I'm trying to get better at sales . You think that's going to increase your sales ? No , it's not . I know how to sell . I sell every day .

I show up every day to offer my audience what I have available for them that will serve and support them , that can change their life . Isn't it funny how so many things that we do are just these little shifts ? There's these little shifts , and if we can learn to adopt them and learn the way that we talk to ourself ? I also read a quote the other day .

I think I shared it in my inner circles telegram , but I want to say it was by Bruce Lee . Actually , let me look it up right now so I don't even paraphrase this and I tell you exactly the exact thing that the quote said . And that is here we go . Don't speak negatively about yourself , even as a joke . Your body will know the difference .

Bruce Lee Interesting . Our body knows if we're just kidding , if we're really deep down inside , I think that Interesting right . So if we want to embody something , let's say we want to embody stopping a habit , or we want to embody becoming better at what we do . We not only have to take the actions .

Let me rephrase that we not only get to take the actions , but we also get to mean it and we also get to know it , and sometimes that knowing can be hard at the beginning , but we get to step into that new identity , because the true goals , journeys , actions , inspired actions that stick are the ones when we identify as another person .

We identify as the person we need to become to pursue that goal , that dream , that journey , whatever you want to call it . And I think this is the perfect thing to talk about . One of the last episodes of the year and we have a few more , but one of the last and I think it's really important to start thinking about who do I get to shift into ?

Who do I get to become ? What do my thoughts get to start changing to ? And it doesn't mean you have to be perfect , it doesn't mean you're gonna be like you're gonna say the wrong thing , but if long as the majority of the time we're stepping into this new identity , we're going to start seeing the results .

We're also gonna enjoy the journey a lot differently than the person that we used to be or the identity that we used to identify with . So how can you shift that ? How can you shift this belief of who I was to who I wanna be ? I wanna reach this goal , I wanna do this thing .

So who do I get to step into , because the person I am currently has , for some reason , struggled to get where she wants .

So what's the new identity that I'm going to adopt so that I can move forward and reach the dreams , the goals , the plans , the inspired actions that I desire to achieve Now , the next month , over the next year , whatever that looks like for you ? What's the identity shift you get to make ?
