Episode description

We Underestimate What we Are Capable of as Entrepreneurs
We have so many telling us "that's not possible"
"You can't do that"
"It'll take you longer than that"
"that's not realistic"
And I'm just like STOP!
My best ideas come from the things I think are the craziest when I first invent them in my brain.

Tony Robbins has a quote. And he says, You overestimate what you do what you can do in a year. And you underestimate what you can accomplish in 10 years. And 100% agree with that, I see us all under estimating what we can actually do under estimating how fast we can get to a goal under estimating how how fast we can do whatever it is that we want to do build this

business, right. And I think it's, I'm trying to think there's another quote, and it said, If you realized, I'm going to totally screw this up. But if you realized all the things you're actually capable of you would astound yourself or something like that. And I think that overall is true. I think that is why it is so important in owning a business to have a mentor, because we don't see what all is possible. And yeah, maybe some mentors are there to rein you in on your crazy ideas.

But honestly, I try not to rein anybody's crazy ideas. And because I've built my business, on crazy ideas, and I am so thankful that my mentors have not done that to me. They have not tried to squelch my dreams, they have not tried to say, Okay, let's read that. And let's rethink that. I think that's a little crazy. Now have they helped me improve the

idea? Absolutely. But never Squatch my dreams. And it was funny, I was working with my husband, because he's going to start working in my business. And he had all these ideas here. I gave him this book to read. And he had all these ideas, and they were crazy off the wall ideas. The old Miyota said, yeah, no, we're not doing that. Because they are all of them pretty much involve me in my marketing. But again, when someone is super excited, why are we like, no, no, no, you can't do that. No,

that's not possible. No, that's gonna take you forever. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, we do not say that. We do not say that, especially as women, we have such a hard time already. Believing in herself having certainty, believing what's possible, believing that this is for us believing that people want to work with us believing that people will pay us that much. We already struggle with all of those things. Why on earth? Am I going to squat somebody's dreams?

And if you're thinking, well, aren't you doing a disservice to them? If earliest crazy? What's crazy? What's really crazy. It may be crazy in some person's eyes, but maybe reality and somebody else's. When people say, You know what that other quote, I'm using a lot of quotes today, you know, when you say impossible, it's impossible for you. Now me, right. And again, it doesn't mean that I wouldn't say, let's do it this way. Or let's guess I love this

idea. Let's do this also, or let's add this in, or let's add in these boundaries, because I want to protect you at the same time. So want you to think about your goals and dreams because outsiders have always people that don't own their business. I don't guess they're really outsiders, but they don't own a business. They don't understand. They have always been really fast to stop us from doing the thing. Or Oh my God, why would you do that? Is that safe? Are

you sure? Oh my gosh, like, I can't imagine not having a nine to five and blah, blah, blah, and all these things that we hear. But I'm curious, what, and who has held you back? And I will say this and a coach helped me through this because my husband has said things to me before. And she said it. They're just trying to protect you. They're not they don't mean harm at all. But most people don't mean harm. But they're scared. They're fearful, right? So what's holding you back?

What big crazy ideas have you not implemented? Because I said this on the podcast yesterday. If you sit on an idea long enough, you'll think it's like insane. It's crazy. So you want to implement it. That is what a mentor is here for to help guide and lead you to take that big crazy idea and implement and execute. That's why I have hired the people I've hired. That's why I will always have a support person or support community. Always.

And here's the thing. I have friends who are mentors And I pay them. I pay them. Because when I am getting free advice unless it's at a roundtable where everyone is doing it, but when I get free advice, it just doesn't land, it doesn't feel good. The energetic exchange between money and that growth or that strategy or that support is huge. And if you're like, Well, I don't, I'm not ready, I don't have the financial means to work

with someone. I guarantee you, if you talk to anyone, you will find that they have loads of options available. Now, what does that mean? Well, if you're going to pay a lesser price point, you're going to let get less proximity, of course rate, but it doesn't mean you can't still get support. I have support mentoring between $47 a month and $1,000 a month. So the question is, what level of support do you need? What level of support do you want? Do you want to be in a community?

Do you want one on one? Do you just want to pick my brain? Do you just need to be told what to do? Like what level of support do you need? That's a question you get to ask yourself. I can't answer it for you. I'm always here to riff on it with you. And you know how to reach me. It's Crissy Conner on Instagram and Crissy Conner on Facebook. But I'm here to support you, whatever level that you're looking for whatever level you're ready for. And here's the thing. Let me just

add this. You are truly never ready for the next support level that you need. You're never ready. But it's kinda like kids. It's kind of like buying a puppy. You're never really ready you think you are. And then you get it home. It her him. And then you're like, oh, yeah, I might have said yes to this dog too soon because it's chewed up everything in my house, or it poops and pees all over the place, right. Take a deep breath, my friend. Make a decision. Be decisive. You make the rules on your

business. The question is, what's the next one? You're going to take a
