I am so excited to talk to you today about some things that have just been blowing my mind lately. So obviously, I think I used to be known as the going live girl and I probably used to preach a little bit that you know, going live was the authentic, vulnerable way to get visible.
And after about the past probably two years, I've definitely seen how short form video can also take that place to rate so it's not all Christy's way. And no other way works. No, there are other ways that are working right. Obviously, if Facebook is your platform, you get to go live right? If Instagram is your platform, you should be doing reals. If LinkedIn is your platform, you should be going live plain and simple. Sorry,
friends. If tick tock is your platform, you can do a combination of short form video and then live tic TOCs. Right to help draw that traffic in. But I have become very, I don't know if I want to say obsessed is the word but it's pretty much an obsession with tic tock because I absolutely love, love, love, love what it can do for your business. And it's so funny because I was so against getting on Tik Tok at first because tick tock used to be called musically, and my daughter was
on musically, right. And I'm thinking, I mean, like at probably seven years old, which would have been eight years ago. She was on musically and her and her friends would create all the sounds to you know, music or, or voiceovers and things like that. And so, you know, tick tock bought out musically, and then it was like then I saw marketers really starting to get on it and push it. My mentor included. And I dabbled around with it for a little while. And I just got very frustrated and kind of
backed off. One of the reasons I did I did get frustrated and I backed off was because of the fact that what was I going to do with this content? Like literally, I was posting something for one platform. And you know, I'm the work smarter, not harder girl. And so it was very hard for me to you know, throw out the leftover so to speak, there was nothing else to do with that content, that content, but posted on Tik Tok
at the time. And so once reals, rolled around that then I was like, Okay, wait a second, I should really be more consistent on tick tock, because now I can repurpose it to reels like that just makes so much sense. And then YouTube came out with YouTube shorts. And then we were finding that Pinterest was also you could go viral on Pinterest with the idea pins, and that they were doing really well. And the tiktoks were doing really
well and my stories. And then LinkedIn had stories for a while and I was posting them there. And I was grabbing attention on LinkedIn, the feed and so it really got to a point where it's like, wait a second, I can do so much more with like my live videos, right? Like my live videos. Sure. I can transcribe them. I can do all this I can work smarter, not harder, I can totally do that with them. And that's huge for me and my business. But when I can also just short form video that makes
it all worth it to me right? I can be visible in multiple places I can I can put my messaging out there to multiple places. And so that was what really started my love and passion with tick tock. Since then I have obviously tried to do trends, right I've well let me let me back up. I tried to dance. I hired my friend Colton, to support me with tears learning dances, friends, when you spend two hours on a 15 second dance. Something has to get right and I was like wait a
second. This is not me. Right? We all learn. This is not me. I don't need to dance. I don't need to dance. Sure if I want to move my body or whatever but I don't need to learn dances. That's not my audience. And as soon as I realized this is how I what I do on tick tock I stay true to myself. It got way better for me right not only in the audience that it got better. But it also got better in the aspect that I felt more aligned
with it right? Which when you feel more confident and more aligned with anything, what does that do, it draws your audience in even more. So that was huge. And then most recently, I've kind of backed away from going with trending sounds and really created my own content, me, my voice, my messaging, what's going on in my world and that moment, and that has also helped me so much. I don't get the views. But I get the engagement.
As when I started, really focusing on my messaging, that's when the views didn't show up, right, which I don't care about views. Views are just a vanity metric. But my engagement shot up and that to me, it means every person that engages with me is my ideal person, right? And that's what I want. I don't do all this video content just to show up and say, Look at me, I do this video content to serve and support my audience to help bring in leads right to attract people that I want to serve and
