Episode description

Ever wondered how visibility and conquering your fears can have an unexpected impact on your life and business? Well, I recently discovered just that while attempting to parallel park my car as onlookers watched. Fear of judgment had me in its grip. But, I realized, just as I had grown accustomed to being on camera and in the public eye while building my business, I could master my fear of being watched during a simple task like parking. The experience was nothing less than a revelation.

I didn't think this was possible , but I can finally attribute visibility to helping something besides my business . So tonight we , abe and I we went homecoming dress shopping and we went out to eat and then we ran to get some ice cream and I had to parallel park The entire time . I'm trying to parallel park , which is very slowly , by the way .

Thank goodness for great backup cameras , but still it was a really slow process And Abe was like mom , everybody's watching you . There were people eating outside and she's like everybody's staring at you , and she just kept like telling me all this stuff and the old me would have literally drove around until I found a way , easier spot to pull into .

However , because I am used to making a fool of myself and not knowing what I'm going to say and how I'm going to mess up , and if my dogs are going to bark or if my internet is going to go out in the middle of a video , i did not care .

To my knowledge , no one had their cameras out , but maybe there was somebody that I couldn't see , but I did it Like I literally did not let that affect me , and I think that is so funny that I used to pay parallel parking because I was afraid of what people were thinking of me or watching me or thinking , oh my God , this girl cannot parallel park , until

we literally stopped if people were looking at me and move on . But it was so funny that Abe was like they're watching you . They're watching you . I'm like , okay , whatever , i don't care , i'm going to get in this spot . And then we're walking back to get out of this .

She was mom , there's the same people are there , they're going to watch you , try to get out of that spot . And I'm like that's fine , i'm going to get out of the spot , it's not a big deal . So if you think that visibility will only help your business , you are wrong .

If you don't like people watching you and you just certain things like parallel park , it will actually help you . So I found that very interesting that I am used to getting on camera knowing no idea what is going to happen , no idea if things are going to go my way .

No idea because of live video , because nothing ever goes as planned , including the story , and I just think that is so funny that I was able to parallel park the first time , like in forever , without worrying about what people think of me worrying about people are watching me . Also .

My G windows are pretty darn tentative so nobody can see me from the side , but straight on they could see me . But I think that's really interesting because so many people are afraid of getting on video , so many people are afraid of putting themselves out there . But the more that we do it , the less we care , the less we're trying to people please .

I remember when I first got on video and I first started doing live videos , i just wanted everybody to like me . I don't even know if I really had a content strategy back in 2016 , 17 , 18 . I just wanted people to like me . I wanted them to like what I had to say . I wanted them to . I wanted to make them feel good about themselves .

I wanted them to do all these things and I really didn't have a plan , but I still showed up and I still did it .

And I still had very unexpected moments , like my Uri V book falling off the shelf in the middle of a live , my dogs barking , the smoke detectors going off in the middle of a live , like all these things have happened to me , but you just keep going . And the same thing with real life people watching me trying to parallel park . You know what ?

Take a picture , video it , i don't really care . It's more visibility for me . Even if I am making a fool of myself , i do not care . So , friends , this is a real eye opener to me tonight because visibility . I used to say visibility changed my life , and then I realized no , visibility didn't change my life . Visibility changed my business .

Being uncomfortable and getting over myself and not being scared to get on video , you know , and and doing the uncomfortable thing is what really changed my life . So , but I can also say that visibility helped with my parallel parking now . So it's more than helping you with my business .

I hope this helped you , i hope this served you , and if you are afraid of people making fun of you when you parallel park , just get on video more . You'll get over it really fast .
