As most of us we do struggle when it comes to we're in a container or we're at a conference, or something is super exciting, right? And we, what happens is, is that we actually lose the momentum after a while, we try really hard to hold on to it. We try really hard to keep pushing through, but it's hard to continue to keep that going forever on our
own. So even if you have a mentor, even if you're in a mastermind, you have that weekly or twice a month jolt of this is what you know, this is what's landing with me, this is what I'm giving to you. This is how I'm pumping pumping you up this week. This is how I involve a blog, right. And so I think that it's really important for us and something that I do is that I always have, either my mentor, or somebody that I admire or somebody that really motivates
me. I have their podcast, I have past trainings, I always have something going on in the background. I think a lot of times in business, we think, Oh, I did that program. I'm good. Or oh, I listened to that masterclass. I'm good are already listened to that podcast episode. I'm good Been there done that don't like reef reruns. And the thing is, is that we absolutely 100% need reruns. As business owners, we have so many things going on all
the time. Constantly, right. And if we aren't rerunning, I'm doing your quotes. By the way, if we are rewriting things in our head, we're not taking it all in, there's no possible way. We have so much information coming at us all the time. It's like many times you guys probably may have heard the story about me talking about the podcast episode that changed my life. Nothing in that podcast
was new. I hadn't listened to the podcast, but I do go back and listen to it every once in awhile, because I know what it does. But nothing in that podcast was new. Nothing that was setting up podcasts that I like never heard before. It was the way it was delivered the order it was delivered in that moment that I was open to it.
And so if we're not doing reruns, if we're not doing repeats, if we're not re listening, if we're not keeping that mentor, that motivation in our ear, that is when we find times of I'm not good enough self doubt creeps in. It gives opportunity for us to, you know, want to burn it all to the ground. I'm not saying you won't, even if you don't listen, but it kind of like it's preventative, right? we brush our teeth, we do we wash we some people make their bed. We do
these things. They're all just like preventative things, right? But why aren't we doing that with our brain? Why aren't we doing that with our mind? Now, I will also add this, you can listen to stuff all day long. But if you never choose to implement the growth is not there. If you never choose to ask yourself the hard questions. You know, I did a emotional intelligence and a work program. And I was just listening and you can walk you can? What does it walk through the steps and do it
to check off a box. But you don't really say okay, she's asking me to journal about these things? I'm not going to do that. Because I don't want to do that. Because that sounds painful. Than Am I really learning anything? No, I'm not. That obviously, if you're driving down the road in a car, you can't stop and write something. But you can pause the audio and be honest with yourself. Right? You can pause the audio and say, That's a good point. I've never really thought
about that. Let me start like breaking this down in my brain right now. Right? And so, yes, we can keep the momentum by having reruns or repeats in our head. Yes. It's great to continue to listen, go back and listen to trainings you've listened to before. Go listen to new trainings, even if the mentor is saying something you've already heard. What happens and I love this. I don't know if you've ever seen Think and Grow Rich the movie if you have not. You can buy it online.
I don't remember how much it is. It's probably like $20 Maybe $14. I don't really remember. But it is so powerful. Because one of the guys on the movie says Think and Grow Rich is a manual. It is not something you read one time and say oh, that
was nice and walk away. It's something you should reread every single year because every single year Depending on where you're at, right, there should be growth in a 12 month period, every single year, when you reread it, you are going to take something else away that applies to you in that moment. And, by the way, it is an amazing book, and it is amazing movie highly recommend. But regardless, we should be doing this with a lot of different things. Most everything we do is not one and
done. What I found in 2022, was I really invested in mentorship, I really invested in learning in a different way, and from different people than I'd ever learned before. And what I found was, yeah, it was a lot. And it could be overwhelming. If that's the story I want to tell myself. But what I chose to say was, okay, if I can attend this training live, might attend it live. If I can't, I'm going to make sure that I watched the replay before I watch the next video in this series or
whatever. But then if I watch it live, I'm actually going to put it on replay in the car. Because I'm sure there's something I missed, I'm sure I decided to go check my Facebook or my tic tock during the trading. And because we get distracted very easily, or my mind wandered. And so in the car, it's not as easy for my mind to wander because I'm literally focused on the road, right? I am driving, if they're my kids are in the car, I'm keeping them safe. And so therefore it's I'm not
multitasking. But I can listen and pick up things that I didn't listen or hear in the first time. So what I did was I made this pact for myself that I'll never listen to one thing, one time, I will listen to it multiple times. Because again, the takeaway is always there. And sometimes when I did this mentors, five, it was a week training five days, I don't know. And the one thing she said was, I don't want you to take notes. I was like what, you
don't want us to take notes. And she goes, I really want you to listen, and I really want you to feel. And I was like that's I've never really thought about that. Because my my hand wants to go to my notes and start taking notes immediately. But that made so much sense. But what I did was go back and listen and take notes. So I listened to it twice. And I think again, most of us have a lot of noise. Most of us don't remember what somebody told us five minutes
ago. So if this is the learning that we want, if this is the value that we want, if this is a mentor that we respect. And we know that her knowledge can help us. It's time to go back and listen to it again. I can say that podcast episode, I want to say I listened to it three times that day, at least three times that day. And then I have listened to it. I would say every three to six hours another time every three six months. I would I would guess because that
would have been June of 2021. So I would say I've watched that video close to 10 times easy. Or not video, that podcast episode. We watch repeats and reruns of shows. I mean, I've seen shits Creek like 10 times the whole series. My family is like, Are you kidding? You're starting and again? Like what is this like the 100th time I still find things that I didn't notice before. I still hear things that make me laugh. So why do we think that re listening to a training isn't going to have the
same effect on us? Because my friend, it most certainly is. So let's replay something. Let's keep it in the background while you're doing laundry while you're walking on the treadmill while you're doing something else driving. You don't always have to be sitting down at your computer, you can still live your life. A lot of times I do it when I do take the dogs out to use the bathroom. Like you can find times in your day to
listen. You don't always have to be sitting up straight with a notepad in front of your computer. Keep your mentor in your ear keep the people you admire in your ear that is going to keep you and have the keep you and have that maintenance and you never know I feel like it's the universe it's something always happens that you just literally listen to what you need to hear in the right moment. Is Never by accident, my friend, even if it seems like it is
