As a business owner, it is your responsibility in your job to protect your platforms, your platforms are so much more than a social media tool to you. Okay, I just wanted to just put that out there, I want you to make sure that you are really aware of that. And we're going to do some behind the scenes content, because that's what we always do, we maximize every time we show up on video, okay? So your platforms are a
marketing tool for you. They are something that helps you with your launches, they help you sell, they help you build relationships. So think, CRM, right, they help you connect with your audience, they help you talk to your audience, they help you do market research with your audience, they help you have a community to host programs and maybe Facebook groups or something like that, right? They give you ways to connect with your audience at a
deeper level. This is not mean you do not need an email list. This is not mean you need to you don't need an asset. You do need to be building those types of assets. Those are very, very important. But what I want you to know is that if something were to happen to your accounts, whether you get hacked, whether you get shut down, falsely, you know, accused of something, you know, going to jail what they say, you know, and the platforms, you will get to be prepared. We can't prevent
everything. But we can be very preventative on a lot of security measures that happened when it comes to our platform. If your platform got hacked, what would you do? If somebody broke into your account and took it over it? What would you do? These things are happening, okay. And it is our responsibility to protect ourselves. Some of the top people who have the best security, like possible, right, they have teams that help them with this stuff. It happens too.
But we can be vigilant about it and make smarter decisions. Number one, do not use your kids name and their birthday as your password. Don't use easy stuff like that. Don't use your maiden name and your graduation date. Yes, I am talking about me because I've done all of these. Okay, I have also gotten hacked. So I totally know how this feels. But I'm telling you what not to do. One of the things that I love is the password generator on LastPass. It is the craziest passwords, like I don't
know them. But LastPass does. And so I changed my passwords every 30 to 45 days, including my LastPass password, because basically there are systems out there, they're just trying to figure out passwords all the time. And if I keep changing them, they can't keep up with me, right. And that's my goal. I've heard so many crazy stories besides my own, and I want you
to be safe. I'm trying to help you build a business if I'm not telling you how to protect yourself and protect your assets, and I'm not doing my job, right. These are the platforms you were using for growth. Let's take this seriously. Number two, after the password, stop clicking on emails that just get sent to you stop thinking that everything that sent to you is officially from Facebook or Instagram or some other platform. Almost every platform has a security on it. So you go to the security
area. On Facebook personal it's in your personal profile, Instagram has it on the app as well. And you literally go in and verify who sent me emails lately, like did Facebook did you send me an email lately? Instagram? Did you send me an email? And you can see very clearly did they send you an email right then in there? It has the whole list. I think most of them show the last 14 days. And you can see right there that I just got an email from them.
Did I get a text from them? Was that message that they sent me? Which is probably no they didn't probably send you a message and they probably didn't tag you in a page and they probably didn't tag you in a group. We're seeing a lot of this happening online and I want you to make sure that you are work you're being smarter about this just because it's it's scary when you see this as soon as I see something like this. And half the time I know they're not real, but I just like what I was getting
shut down. If I don't click on this link right now. Oh my God, what did I do? Right? That's just where my mind goes. Maybe your says to. So initially, I want to click on Next I want to fix whatever is happening but I have to think clearly like okay, Crissy. This is not you have not verified this. You don't know if this is official. So let's make sure this is official before we do the next thing. So that's
number two. Number three, every single person on every single platform that you can add two factor authentication, if I said that, right. It can be as easy as them sending a code to your phone and yes, it's a pain in the butt. But you know what else is pain in about trying to get your account back that you've worked years on building relationships with? It is a simple, easy step that is a pain in the butt, it is an extra step. But it could save your account. These aren't fell proof, okay?
These are just to support you and give you ideas. Be vigilant about this. This is part of your business, it is part of your systems and your business in some way, shape or form is part of a system in your business, for communication, for marketing, for launching, for housing programs, for housing, communities, whatever it is, right? In some way, shape or form, you're using that in addition to email, maybe SMS messaging, and other things and having a website. Protect your
accounts. Let me say it again, protect your accounts. If somebody sends you a message, and says, we're going to shut down your ad account, or we need to work on your ad account, or you need to click this to update your ad account, don't do it. Don't do it. No, it is a hack. It is a scam do not do those things. Facebook pages and Instagram pages are really people are going after them a lot right now. Because you can monetize them. What do they want? They want to get something
for nothing. They want the easy way out. You've worked hard for this. Don't let them take that from you. And while we're at it for security reasons, and for safety reasons, obviously, I am not an expert at this. I just have been hacked a lot. Now lately, I learned my lesson. And there's not one password that I know that you're all some crazy combination. But I do the same thing with my email account. Because guess what, if I lose my Google account, I lose a lot of
access to things. I log into a lot of things using my Google account, right? If I can't log into my Facebook account, I can't log into my my Pinterest account, I use Facebook to log into my Pinterest account. So there's a lot of things which I still get to clean up because I need to clean those up. Because I don't like having those how I don't like having to go through one platform to get to another platform, because anything can happen. But what are some things
we can clean up? What are some things that we can do to prevent? It's all preventative? It's not failsafe, right? But we want to protect ourselves the best way that we can. Yes, I am being crazy about this. Yes, I am not going to stop talking about this. Yes, I want you to grow a big business. And you can't do that if you if you keep losing your accounts. I also believe we shouldn't have all our eggs in one basket, especially the metal basket,
right? Let's have another platform outside of that we can build communities. If Instagram goes down, Facebook goes down and WhatsApp goes down. Right? Have another platform. Don't put all your eggs in one basket have an asset outside of any platform. You don't own any of those platforms, none of that traffic is owned. It is borrowed as long as they allow you to stay on it and borrow it as long as they are available and as long as you have an account right? So let's be safe let's be
smart. Let's do some things that we can to fix these you know again before you're problem aware and before you know knew about this, you were like okay, why didn't notice this to do that. Now, you know, because you watch this video, so I'm sorry. You get to go protect yourself. Okay? Protect yourself, protect yourself, protect yourself. You will not be sorry. When you see other people you're like oh my gosh, I'm so glad like I did
this. It's happening too often friends and I want you to protect yourself and your business.
