Episode description

Imagine building genuine online relationships without any ulterior motives. We pull back the curtain on how to foster these connections while avoiding the discomfort of feeling targeted for a purchase. Our discussion offers a fresh perspective on extending non-aggressive invitations to your programs or services, and how staying visible and present doesn't have to mean hard selling. Moreover, we emphasize the significance of giving your audience the option to be reminded of an offer before it expires, rather than forcing it upon them.

Speaker 1

When it comes to creating raving vans .

I think there is this beautiful thing that we've been taught a variety of different ways to do different things , and I'm not going to sit here and say that this is the wrong way and this is the right way , but I know what the right way is for me , and so you can listen to this and have discernment and your takeaways and how you feel best to move your

business forward with this information . So I have always believed and I still believe , and I will continue to believe , that we build relationships online with no expectation in return , meaning that I am not targeting you , hoping you're going to buy from me , because to me , that just feels gross .

It feels gross , it feels heavy , it feels like I'm doing this with the wrong intention and it just doesn't feel good . Now , if I build a relationship with you or you build a relationship with me and I end up buying from you or you end up buying from me , that is not the issue . There's nothing wrong with that . That's beautiful how that turns out .

However , if I do it with the intention of I just want you to buy from me , it feels gross and that's just the way it is . I just I , a really long time ago , had to get into this mindset that I build relationships with no expectation in return . If I expect something , well , first of all , that's the wrong intention , right .

But if I literally want to just build a relationship , let's support each other , let's cheer each other on , let's comment on each other's content . You know , even if it's one-sided , right , this start out like that's really what my goal is when I build relationships online .

I'll never forget that there was a time that there have been multiple times but that I purchased from a online conversation an invitation . I don't think there's anything wrong with inviting people , especially if it's free , but I just want to like preface this okay .

When you build a business , especially where you show up all the time and you're very visible , I noticed that people , when I would comment on stuff , they would freak out and be like , oh my God , chrissy Connor comments on my content . I am nobody okay . I am just a person who decided to be .

I didn't decide to be an introvert , but I was an introvert who decided to get over fears and get on video right , and I never want to like tap into somebody's DMs and say , hey , I would love to invite you to this new program I have . That's a paid program .

And then someone is like , oh my gosh , you know , I feel like I have to do this because she sent me the invitation . I never want that there to be that feeling there , because there's a couple things that happen in this type of feeling and I have felt this way when someone invited me to something .

But also I've also done the work so was able to work myself out of this right Meaning I bought something that was very high ticket and then when my income dipped , I started having second thoughts . Right , it's happened multiple times and sometimes I've been invited , sometimes I made the decision myself .

But when I make the decision myself , it's very clean , it's very clear . Nobody asked you to do this , you decided yourself . Right , and even if they promise something and they never even messaged me but it was like promising in their marketing , again it's still . I've never been like , oh , that's , that's their fault , like I've never felt that way .

But I felt myself one time getting into a Blame situation . Again , I take personal responsibility , but I could feel the heaviness from the purchase and I didn't like the way that felt and I decided from that moment you know what this is I'm not inviting people .

I mean , I might invite you to a free masterclass , but I am not inviting people to pay Programming , just not . You want the information . You message me , you reach out to me . That's great . I run retargeting ads , I run all of these things . There's your , there's your invite . I'm very visible , right , and so it just felt cleaner to me to do this .

And the beautiful thing about having raving fans , the beautiful thing about having a great content strategy , the beautiful thing at Bahamina , great visibility strategy is , you know , the invitation is through the content , the invitation is through you showing up . The invitation is there .

There's no reason to have to go to people's DMs to invite them , and then it feels clean , and then it feels genuine , and then it feels just really , really good . Again , I'm not saying there's anything wrong with inviting people . I've done it . However , to have a very clean feeling , business does just not the . That's the choice I make moving forward .

I just don't choose to do that anymore . And , again , you get to decide what works for you . Now , if somebody says can you remind me before the price comes up or before the price goes up ? Yeah , I'll try . I'm not always great at that , not gonna lie , but yes , I will . I will totally have full intention of reminding you .

Matter of fact , somebody is Message me before and say it hey , we have the special , or hey , this is going on , or hey , and I'll be like I'm really busy right now . If I don't like buy or I don't do this before tonight , can you remind me , like , don't , you're not bothering me .

Like , and I've given people permission for things like that before and I think there's nothing wrong with that either . I don't think there's anything wrong with inviting people . I'm just saying for me , in my business , I want to be cleaner , I want to be very clear and I want the person to Desire the thing that I'm selling .

I want the person to desire the thing that I have to offer . I Want them to know that I have a solution for whatever they're dealing with , or things are amazing right now , and they just want them to be a little bit better . And I think that's a very , very clean strategy .

I think it's a very , very clean way to do business and you know , just like our content , if you think about it is like the commercials , right , like target commercials or what other commercials are there that I don't really even watch commercials anymore . But I know Target has really cool commercials , right . Or ads on Facebook , right , like .

All of those are like the commercials . They're in your face enough for you to know the things that I have right . You get to decide is this for me or is this not ? And that's one reason that I believe the raving fans program , iconic as well , iconic .

Iconic was iconic , like I'm not even alive somebody who delivered them the information , like I kind of blew my own mind in this , but it's like iconic is the . Is the the before , right , the program you should do before and then raving fans is the program we do the work like .

It's where we do the work , it's where we create the content , it's where we get deep , it's where we go deeper and we go deeper and we go deeper and we go deeper , because that's what your audience wants . They're tired of surface level .

They get surface level from everybody else and , really , if you want people to literally come to you , follow you or want what you have to offer , you've got to get out of surface level . To my friend , I Love to post some quotes , but if I post that quote with nothing else Sorry , it's surface level .

I Invite you to think a little bit deeper when it comes to your content . I invite you to think a little bit more with conviction when it comes to your content . I invite you to think a little bit more with your passion when it comes to your content . How can we add more of that into our content ? How can we add more of that into our strategy ?

And how can we add more of that , Knowing that our person is gonna feel that passion , that conviction coming through the screen and want To work with us . There's no better feeling , there's no better strategy , and that is what's working In my world right now . My friends and I want to teach you all the things so that you can do this too .
