A few weeks ago, someone messaged me to give me a heads up that they heard something about tic toc was going to be like removed from the United States. First of all, just to clarify, we've heard this since tic toc came to the US, right? Like we've heard this for years. I think my first tic toc video was 2019. So I've been hearing it a lot. And the old me would have panicked when somebody told me this, like I'm investing so much time and Tik Tok to grow it. But it didn't like faze me
at all. And here's why. Because I don't have all my eggs in one basket. Now granted, I am not saying to be Chrissy and to be the visibility queen and be everywhere, because that's a lot for anyone, right? Unless you have a team that can help support you. It's really hard to 100% be all in on multiple platforms. Do I think we should be in more on more platforms than just meta platforms? 100% I do believe that. Because typically, if Instagram goes down, Facebook goes down, right?
And WhatsApp goes down. So it all goes down. Right? And then everybody goes to Twitter to talk about it. Or if you're smart, you always have an email ready to go out to your list and you email your list, right. So so I think that we do need another platform. Besides that, I believe in having short and long term marketing strategies when it comes to the content we put out. Obviously, Facebook and Instagram are short term marketing strategies, the content doesn't last forever.
It's there trying to work on making it more searchable. But right now it's not really like Tik Tok is is doing really well in that. YouTube, obviously, is the second largest search engines, they're always going to do really well at that. Pinterest does decent at that. I just noticed a lot of changes in Pinterest and it could totally be me, but I 100% don't think we put all our eggs in one basket. So if something happened to Tik Tok today, would I be
devastated? I mean, I would be sad for a second, but not going to ruin my business. Have I got clients from Tick Tock 100%? Have I got clients from Facebook? 100% If I got clients from Instagram 100% Have I got clients from YouTube? 100%? Have I got clients from Pinterest? 100%, LinkedIn 100% Every one of them right? The only one I can confirm is Twitter. But it's okay. So, well, I take that back. I've never probably not in this business. But in other businesses, I have gotten
clients from Twitter. So I think the thing that we get to look at is number 1am. I consistent enough, in at least two really strong platforms. one's gotta be off made up of my friends, that I feel 100% confident that if something happened, or a platform went down that I'm good, right? Do I have an email list that can support me, if I'm planning on have a launch on Friday, and then all the platforms go down? Like it's really thinking strategically? Am I going to be okay? My
biggest launch. When I first my first big launch, when I open up my inner circle was a 40 something $1,000 launch and lost my ad account. I was devastated. But you know what I did, I upped my visibility, which I was already really, really visible. But I lowered my goal because I was afraid that without ads, I couldn't make it happen and actually exceeded my original
goal. So yeah, as long as we are visible, as long as we are showing up creating raving fans, as long as we are selling we have like we have a no brainer offer, right? And people are buying. We are okay, if a platform goes down. Yes, it may suck if it's your favorite platform, but find ways to love every platform, right? And that's by engaging with the relationships in your audience, which can be super huge. The other thing is, just make sure that you aren't over extending
yourself as well. Right? Again, I don't think you need to be everywhere. I think you need to be two to three really strong places. And one of those gets to be outside of the meta platforms. So how are you going to leverage the platforms that you're on? How are you going to make sure that you are not overextending yourself, but also protecting yourself? Because if you got kicked off of Facebook or Instagram or a platform just decided to leave or get banned from the country, you would be okay.
