Today's Monday Minute , we're going to talk about capacity and we're going to talk about the things that we think we can do , and I think we have a problem either on one end or the other .
The one problem with capacity is some of us take on way more than we can do or we should be doing , and others of us are maybe most of us we're taking on a lot , but we're taking on the wrong things and we actually have more room to do the things that really matter than we would ever imagine . This is a great example .
Back in July , I signed up for a coaching program . We needed 250 hours of all the work . There was training . There is , I think , accounted 42 coaching calls . That had to happen in that amount of time , but we couldn't start the coaching calls so after we got some of the training . So I think our coaching calls started in the end of September .
Our peer coaching started the beginning of September . So we were like four weeks ahead , but we had to complete all these coaching calls to have 250 hours , and I've written one paper already , I've done two assessments already . But this isn't like I don't have a business . I already have a business . So I'm adding all of this on top of what I'm already doing .
Putting out a new program at least every month , running my mastermind , running my one-on-one boxer clients , running my ads clients , like all of this is on top . So , looking back , as soon as I signed up in July , I thought what is wrong with you ? You are insane . This is there's no way . You're never going to get this done .
And I think I didn't really know how much was involved when I started , you know , I thought , oh , it's a course , I keep up with courses , it's not a big deal . No , no , no , no . I do action after all my courses . But it's not like you have to do X amount .
This is for a full-on certification and , matter of fact , two certifications is what I get out of the end of this . And then there's a third certification after that , but there's obviously more training to do after that .
But when I realized , oh my gosh , I'm going to be spending four hours a week on coaching calls , like I'm getting coached by a peer , I'm coaching a peer , I'm coaching two case study clients , right , and I was like that's every week . That's not on top .
That's not including prepping for the calls and follow-up and my other things that I have to do , but also learning , because I had to get these hours in right , and so when I started looking at it , I was like I don't know what I've done . There's no way I'm going to be able to do this .
And I started psyching myself out and what I realized was we can do pretty much anything we put our mind to . I have not only completed 42 , or sorry , let me do the math 30 something . I have eight more to go . Basically . So the 42 coaching calls I have eight to go . I have 20 hours left and I still have to write a paper .
I still have to create a 45-minute master class . I also have to create a document on how I'll use the framework with my own clients and a couple other things an assessment . But it's even funny . I started freaking out about the master class . Literally , I could go live in 20 minutes after I do this podcast and create a master class .
I could literally just go teach . But I was freaking out about it because it was like , oh , I'm getting graded on it . Right , somebody is grading me on this . But I think it's funny how we literally psych ourselves out for things . We look at the big picture and now , looking back I'm like , oh my gosh , I lived my life . I traveled three times .
Two times I've done this . I've been available for all my daughter's senior events . I've been to every game except one , when I was in Destin running a retreat . But this is the thing . At the beginning , I didn't think this was possible .
I was like I'm not going to have no life , I'm not going to be able to do anything I want , and that's all such a lie . The capacity was there because , when we think about it , 80% of the stuff that we do is not building the business .
20% of the stuff that we're doing is building the big business , and I think that's great to remember , because so many times we are actually Hurting ourselves because we're taking on so much , but it's not adding to the bottom line , it's not adding to the longevity , it's not adding to the impact , and we get to think about that more . So .
Moving forward , then , just like , is this making me a dollar today , right , or is this going to make an impact for five years down the road ? And a lot of times we're not doing the correct things and that can look different for all of us , and that's why it's so important to have three to five non negotiables every single day .
These are the things that move the needle forward . If I get nothing else done , these three to five things happen and it has served me so well and will continue to serve me really well . And I've talked about them before , but here they are . Number one I pour into myself my clients and my audience every single day . That's number one .
Number two I'm on video every single day . Number three I make an offer every single day , so I'm selling every single day . Number four I do a morning routine . And five I do my night routine . Like , I have a morning routine , night routine and it's filled with a bunch of stuff , but these are used to be three .
I added them the morning and night routine about three weeks ago and it has been life changing to me . So as long as I get those things done , I am moving the needle forward in my business . So the rest of the hours in the day , what am I doing right ? Honor my commitments , diving into these coaching opportunities and working on my certification .
There's plenty of time to do so much , but we like to do busy work instead of productive work . That moves the needle forward .
