Episode description

Ever found yourself feeling swamped when the sales aren't just rolling in? It's a feeling I know all too well. But as I've learned through my journey, staying consistent in your energy, actions, and standards regardless of sales results is the key to longevity in business. Speaker 1

I'll never forget when my mentor , like a year and a half ago , said you should be the same person when you're making sales and when you're not making sales meaning you're creating revenue for your business or you're not creating revenue for your business and raise your virtual hand if you've ever had a hard time being your normal self when sales are not coming in

for your business Because I have been there , I have felt this and I was like when she first said this , it was an aha moment . It was like , oh my gosh , you're so right , but on the other hand , it's like dang . When I need , when I need money right , or when I need sales , it's really hard to be my bubbly self .

Or it's so hard to keep the energy and to keep moving and to keep doing the things that I'm supposed to be doing when I feel like crap because nothing feels like it's working . I have spent a lot of time in my business like that , by the way , and it is not a good feeling .

Matter of fact , it makes you feel even crappier when you're trying to sell , and many of you have heard that . I said this and it was true . For about six months , I had a launch that sucked in my mind , and so for about six months I said I'm not selling , I'm not launching anything , and that's what I chose to do .

And do we think that I magically made sales in that time ? No , I did not , because I wasn't selling anything . So therefore , no one knew what there was to buy , and so that is not the mentality that works either .

And so I have been hearing this word a lot and I love it and it's really holding the standard , and that is almost like can we be strong enough to be the same person when things are like let me just jump up in the air and be so excited , but also when things suck , because if you've ever seen the little graphics that go around on social media , the

business owner life is like this . So it's like oh , it can go up way up here , or it can go way down below the line and then up here , and then sometimes you have all those feelings , those mixed feelings , literally in the same freaking day . It's like Ohio weather we can have a whole week where we experience all four seasons .

I'm sure there are other places out there that do that too , but that's kind of the life of an entrepreneur , and so I really had to dig very , very deep when it came to sales . But I had to dig very , very deep when it came to launching . I've launched for 22 months now consistently at least one program , sometimes two programs a month .

And I could not have done that if I was going to allow my emotions to go with the amount of money that was in or not in my bank account or the amount of money that was coming in or wasn't coming in .

So I had to regulate that , I had to work on that and I had to learn that I had got to hold the standard , no matter whether it was coming in or not .

And it's funny because my mentor even said this and she said do you think somebody wants to hire someone who literally sits there and refreshes their screen every day , or someone who's like panting and like having this nervous energy , like oh my God , or somebody can abide today ? And you know it got me thinking . You're right .

How can I mentor someone through that if I'm acting like that , if I'm allowing what's happening or not happening to dictate my movement or my actions and my energy ? We call that circumstantial power , non-circumstantial , no circumstantial power , meaning I'm only going to be good if this happens .

If this happens , then I can blah , blah , blah , right , and it's getting rid of all of those . If , thens , we see circumstantial power a lot when it comes to there's no views on my videos , nobody's watching my videos , so I'm just going to stop doing video , or I'm going to stop creating stories because nobody's watching .

So all of those things are very circumstantial , right . And so it's like how can we get ourselves to this place that I am holding the standard and I'm showing up . Whether you buy or not , I'm showing up and holding the standard . Whether you watch my videos or not , I'm showing up and I'm holding the standard .

Whether you comment on any of my content or not , whether you watch this live video I'm doing right now . Whether you listen to my podcast , I'm still showing up , because that's my word to myself and that's what I said I was going to do . And we get to ask ourselves , as CEOs , as business owners , as entrepreneurs am I willing to show up no matter what ?

Because if I'm only willing to show up , if 100 people watch every video , then I'm doing my audience a disservice . I'm doing that one person that really needed to hear that message today a disservice . I'm doing the people who couldn't attend a live video , like they needed to watch the replay .

I'm doing them a disservice and I'm doing the people who want to listen to my podcast six months from now a disservice if I decide to give up . So it's like how bad do you want it ? And I used to hate this question .

But also , are you willing , do you believe in yourself and in what you do , enough to carry you through , to hold the standards in those tough situations ? And I had to start answering yes , I do . Yes , I do , as hard as it is , as bad as it sucks sometimes , yes , I do .

I had to really start holding myself at a different energy , at a different standard , at a different I don't want to say level . But I had to hold myself differently because I can't help other people go through these things .

If I can't go through these things , if I can't deal with the bumps in the road and the income dips and whatever right and not reaching my goals , how can I hold other people through that ? And so it got to be this really the best educational path .

I think I couldn't have paid anybody for this , because when we go through things ourselves , obviously that experience trumps everything , and so being able to carry myself through . I launched 20 some months in a row . I'm not saying that all those launches would be what I would call successful . Did I make a sell , at least in every one of them , mostly .

There were a couple that I didn't make any extra sales . However , it's like what are you going to do with this ? How are you going to react ? I mean , I make many sales now right , that's normally not a problem for me , but does it mean that I might not , that I that I won't go through that again ? No , it does . I can absolutely go through that again .

It's like can I still hold the standard ? Am I still gonna launch again or am I gonna be mad ? Well , one bad month , I'm not gonna do it again .

And it's funny because when I , when I decided About launching and I said you're doing this like you're doing it for a year and and obviously I'm past a year now and I'm still doing it but I knew that if I didn't set myself up with a KPI , key performance indicator or some type of goal or consistent like Run when it came to launching , that wasn't gonna get

better . And I also knew that launching came with selling right and I can't get better at sales unless I do that too and so really holding my standard . This is why I can teach launching , and I used to hate it . This is why I can teach selling , and I used to hate it because it's not really selling .

I Actually started calling it inviting about a year and a half ago because I just felt gross when I said I'm gonna do , I'm gonna do a master class and I gotta do the pitch at the end and it was like , oh , that feels disgusting , it feels gross . So there were a lot of perspectives shifts I got to make . I Don't pitch anyone .

I invite you to the next thing . It's your choice whether or not you say yes . You know , I put a post on my my feed today and I said I will not follow up with you . Matter of fact , I should have said if you need a coach to follow up with you to buy , I'm probably not the coach for you because I'm probably not gonna follow up with you .

Now , have people said can you message me before you raise the price on this ? Yes , well , I do that Absolutely . Have I said to people Um , I really want to buy this . I have a really busy day if I don't like , if I don't buy it by X amount of time , will you just remind me ? Yes , those circumstances , absolutely .

But if somebody asks for the link and then they ghost me , I'm not gonna follow up Because they get to buy in their own time . And I think , also , having that boundary of knowing that I don't have to follow up with people , we're all adults here and we all get to decide what that looks like for us . We all get to decide what buying looks like for us .

And when I literally just Assume right , I'm just gonna assume that you're gonna buy , when you want something for me , you're gonna buy it , versus sitting there looking at my watch refreshing my screen Nobody buys , nobody buys for me , nobody's gonna buy for me , nobody's gonna buy for me . I had to change that whole story that I told myself .

I had to take that standard of Believing that the right people are gonna come into my world , the right people are gonna say yes to the things I have to offer .

And that was standing and putting myself in a lot of personal power , and I love teaching about personal power and if you're any of my programs , you've probably heard it before , but we cannot hear enough of it . It's like you know , like one day of motivation is not enough . Making your bed one time is not enough .

I don't make my bed , but my husband's still in it when I get up , just so we're clear . But anyhow , you know , like one time is not enough pretty much for a lot of things money , mindset , Mindset , work , inner work .

You can't just do something one time and it's like , oh , that's good enough , right , we get to do it over and over and over and over and over . So the question is are you willing to hold the standard ? Do you ? And are you able to stand in personal power and not be concerned about the likes , the comments , the views and the sales ?

Can you still move forward if you don't hit the goal that you wanted to hit ? Can you still move forward if you don't reach the money milestone that you thought you were gonna hit ? Are you gonna give it all up and say I quit , I'm done ? Adding get my goal . Wow me , I'm not doing this anymore . I've been there , by the way , because I said that .

And then I have my highest month ever because I decided not to give up . I literally only saw $2,000 coming in by the third of the month and I was going to quit . I Was going to quit like I was going to give up .

And If I would have given up , like I looked at a year later and I would have said Goodbye , or like not even goodbye because I would never gotten it , but I would have missed out on , like I think it was two hundred and sixty thousand dollars , that it happened from the day I was gonna quit to the 12 months later .

I , we give up way too easily what we have in our head and the things that we think are going to happen , right , like , and then they don't happen one time and we just , we just want to give up so easily . And we get to hold a different standard , we get to hold a different energy , we get to hold a different power and it's non-circumstantial power .

Knowing I'm the ish , knowing what I bring to the table . I love the and I say this all the time , but I'm saying it again I love the tick tock that says what do I bring to the table ? I am the table right , like , can you like deep down in your soul , like truly believe that's what you can do for your audience ?

And if you don't believe it , find a way to believe it , because belief and certainty have gotten me where I'm at . Personal power got me even further and non-circumstantial evidence got me even further than that .

We are going to talk about all of these things inside of iconic , which is creating a brand that is seen , heard and desired , because it all starts with you . It all starts with you . Yes , there are going to be some some technical , real work things in this , but a lot of it is also in your mind . Right , it all starts with you .

You embody the iconic brand . It all starts with us . The question is are you willing to say yes to yourself to start creating that ? It's a hard decision . It was a hard decision to say I'm going to launch 12 months in a row , whether I sink or swim .

I sunk a lot , but if I didn't start the sinking , I would have never been able to swim , and now it feels like I just float . Who doesn't want that ? So if you want the details for iconic , make sure you comment below iconic , or if you're listening to this on the podcast , make sure you check out the show notes and the link will be there .

It's going to be an amazing program and I cannot wait to do this with you .
