at the time that I heard somebody had like a big , huge launch , like a hundred thousand dollars launch , and I remember thinking , oh my god , like that would be amazing , right . Or probably at the time that I first heard this , i would probably have been like , you know , a 5k launch would be awesome , right .
And so one of the things that I learned as a marketer is that there is this thing called stomper math . So a lot of times when people have a big launch , it's not necessarily what they get in that moment . So , meaning , you don't get all these pay and falls .
It's normally a container that's six to twelve months and they're counting the potential revenue , right , that is the revenue that would come in if everybody kept their commitment , if everyone stayed like six or twelve months or whatever the term is . So that is the what most people say .
When you hear them say I've had a 20 , 40 , 60 , 80 hundred thousand dollar launch , that's normally what that means .
So meaning , if you have a membership and you say people need to say a certain amount of time and they pay monthly , you would take that amount and divide it by the the term six , twelve months and then multiply that by how many people signed up in that launch program . So that's how people get these big numbers . It's not .
It's not lying or fabricating , but that is what you should get . The thing is is that , obviously , what most business owners don't tell you is there's a lot of people that default . There's a lot of people that don't fulfill their contract .
There's a lot of things that happen like that in any business there is , but truly , in the online space , i'm not going to even get into this , but women , it's it's like worse and it's really sad .
It's really sad actually and I heard a coach say this and I thought this was so vital is that we want , like pay equality , but until we learn to pay each other equally and fairly and keep our commitments , we'll never , we'll never reach that . That's not what this , that's not what this live is about . So I'm going to just be clear .
But , anyhow , what I found was when I did a launch , like my first , very first launch back in 2019 , i think the first time I launched , i made $2,000 .
I was thrilled , thrilled , like it was like the best thing ever , right , actually , the first launch I did with someone else and it was like $4,000 , so we split , it was $2,000 , and then the second one I did by myself was like almost $3,000 and again I was thrilled to death . I thought was like the best thing ever .
I was like , oh my gosh , this is so huge , this is so huge . And about a year later I decided to launch my inner circle and had a $40,000 launch . Now , again , total transparency . Some people paid in full and some people did pay my plan , so therefore that amount was that stopper math .
When I say a $40,000 launch , that's basically they had to commit to six months , so within six months , right , or adding the paying falls , i would receive $40,000 if everybody was their word and everybody stayed on board .
But one of the most successful things that I did and I have done for all launches is create what we call an activation event , meaning I found a way to get my audience excited . I found a way to get people into my world not everybody's going to be ready to buy , but to create huge excitement .
And when you can create huge excitement in your world , obviously it starts with you , right , like it starts with us . When we want to launch something , we want to do something , we've got to be excited first . If we're not excited , nobody else is going to be excited .
So it starts with us and then we create , like this audience , experience and excitement , which can come in the form of , like master classes and challenges and like a couple day events , like there's so many things that we can call activation events .
They can be free or paid , but normally they're free and we can bring people into our world and then let them see , like , how we are as a coach , how we talk , how we speak , how we teach all those things to say do I want to like pay this person , do I want to work with this person deeper , like it just gives them like it's like a preview , right , it's
like the movie preview . It's a movie preview of working with you . And so activation events are huge and whether I've had 2,000 or 10,000 or 20,000 or 30,000 or 40,000 dollar launches , they have been successful due to activation events .
So when I was , i had an activation event a couple weeks ago about four or six weeks ago now and it was like really hyped up and it was really really good and it was like I threw it together in three days , like , and I was like I need to teach people how to do this , because I think there's this big thing that it takes so much work and so much
effort . Now , granted , back in the day it took longer than it does today , but it's all really about the excitement that you create and how much are you willing to create to get that . So I want to invite you to check out activation . That is our June program . It is about a 10 day program and we start on Wednesday and so that is our welcome call .
But it is going to teach you how to create that excitement before launch , how to get people hyped up , how to get them into something for free and really , really excited so that you can invite them to the next thing I don't say pitch , i don't use that word , it's just not in my terminology but to welcome them into the next thing .
Is your audience excited ? Do you have raving fans ? Do we get to create raving fans for you ? and that's what activation is all about is getting and creating that excitement through these what we call entry points into your next program , into your next launch , into your next thing .
It is also a great way to get visible , is a great way to position yourself as the expert , because sometimes raise your virtual hand if this is you , but sometimes it's easier to sell people on a free thing , right , so it's easier to get them into our world through a free thing .
And then we obviously upsell , invite what everyone wants to call it to the next thing , and so I love activation events for the excitement to see who loves doing these things , who loves doing the work , who is paying attention .
A lot of times we don't get the instant gratification on our content because we have a lot of lurkers out there but they would join something for free . So activation is all about creating that entry point in your business and really challenging and getting your audience excited to go to the next thing .
