And I started it with a webinar. Many of my longtime listeners may have actually even been a part of that. It was called The Secret to attracting your customers and clients. And so it started with this webinar. And I'll never forget that the first webinar I did, no one showed. And I think that was a very defining moment
in my business. Because even though no one showed to that webinar, I made the decision to do it anyhow. Number one, I had never done a webinar right I done video, I've done live video, but I've never actually done a webinar. I was a nervous wreck. And by doing that and getting that extra practice, I was getting the first one out of the way. And also a used a webinar platform, which technically meant to be honest with you somebody could have
hopped on no one did. But what if they showed up 15 minutes late and there was nothing going on? Right? So therefore, I decided to do it. The second webinar I did. Two people showed up, I believe, not very many. The third one I did. I think five people showed up. But to tell you that I didn't quit was one of the most important things. I think that really helped solidify who I was and what I was about in that moment. I did this webinar eight times live, not recorded eight times.
And I was doing about two, I think it was doing like two a week. So in a four week period, I did eight of them. And on the eighth one, with conversions, like people saying yes to the upsell, I knew that this was something I could turn evergreen, right? I knew this was something that I could use. But it took me eight times to feel confident enough about
that. So many times when it comes to launching, and I'm raising my hand, even though you can't see it right now I'm raising my hand and I'm included in this, we fail. Or it seems very exhausting. And we decide that's not for me. Or we make it mean something else. I can't sell that. I price it too high. I don't have enough visibility, I don't have enough followers. We always make it mean
something. And even up until the last year, there are still times I have launches that do not go the way that I want them to. I've done launches that take so much time and money and manpower. Not just me, but my team. And I have lost so much money, so much money. Like I didn't profit anything from them, right? However, here's what I want you to understand. When we have a lot and we do a free to paid right so or a paid paid however we do it. I've done
both. When we do that free to paid which just means a free challenge or free five day bootcamp or free webinar, which I don't call them webinars anymore. I call them workshops. Because I want it to be more of a workshop feel versus a webinar and webinar just says oh, you're gonna sell me something to enter this and I don't I actually invite my audience I don't sell them. But we get so in our head that it doesn't work and so we therefore we think we you know, we suck and there's no use
trying. We make everything mean something So there were some live launches I did. And if you don't know the live launch methodology, it is by Kelly Roach created the live launch. I think it was Kelly Rojo basil, I think it is Kelly Roach. She wrote a book on it. And so it's like five days of teaching. And then you have boat. They don't know this. But there's bonus training since of going for two weeks. There's a lot of backend
relationship building. Your goal was to have 300 people in the in the Facebook, the free Facebook group. And there's a lot involved in this, it's not like, Oh, let me just go show up and see who buys Right? Like, no, this is a whole involved thing. And I felt like a failure that nobody bought the main offer. And people did buy the down, sell. But still it was just like, I'm a joke, right? That's what we want to tell ourselves, I suck, I priced myself too high, blah, blah, blah. That's
what we say. And it actually took a lot of coaching and a lot of inner work to actually understand that wasn't what was going on at all. We just make things main things because it makes us it doesn't make us feel better. But in the moment, if we can find an excuse, it does air quotes right here and make us feel better. But what I didn't understand at the time was maybe those people weren't ready right then. But many of those people, when I did those live launches
have converted since then. We don't think about somebody is trying to save money to work with you. Somebody's trying to pay off their credit card to pay you somebody's trying to finish with another coach before they start working with you. We don't think about those things, the things are going on behind the scenes. We also get in our head that one person tells us they can't afford it. They may or may not even say your prices are too high, but they can't afford it.
So therefore we assume our prices are too high, and nobody will buy it. But what we also don't understand is the people that can't afford it are still watching and trying to make a decision. On their never forget, my coach told me that people who say is like they can't afford it or that your prices are too high, are much louder than the people who are sitting back watching you trying to figure out when to make the right moves are working with you. And so that has helped me so much when
it comes to launching. The other thing I don't know if I've mentioned this maybe once or twice on this podcast, my word of the year is abundance. Because I realized that I wallowed in lack mentality. And it was just something that I got to work on. And so I realized when I would set a goal because everybody, all your coaches want you to set a goal for this launch, right? And so I would set a goal for the launch, let's
say it's 10. And if two people bought, I was too busy worried about where eight people were the eight people, I couldn't figure out the eight people. Instead of celebrating and being so grateful for the two people that said yes. I've had months where I've raised the price on something and nobody's bought. And then all of a sudden somebody buys it within 48 hours later somebody else buys. I stood my ground, I was firm with the pricing. I believe what I
had to offer was worth it. And all I need is one person saying yes. To know that that price is right. If it sells one time, it's going to sell again. And I have to hold myself in that power and believe that because if I don't believe that nobody else is going to believe that they should pay that amount, right. The other thing that I found was I used to be very guilty of this and I'm going to give you this piece of advice. I used to be very guilty of saying
I would never pay that. That was a money block first of all right? I would never pay that is a huge money block. And because I was so used to saying that and I was saying it I wasn't catching myself. Why would somebody pay that for my stuff? Right. You're better off to say it's not aligned for me You right now, then I would never pay that because, as we all know, the whole story of Crissy never getting on video never taking selfies and all that stuff.
Never say never. And I've learned to never say never, because that is not the way that things are right? Typically, if I say never, it probably means I'm gonna do it. So I would love to know, how do you feel about launching? Does it give you anxiety? Does it make you excited? Does it stress you out? Are you scared? Are you happy?
Are you confident in your launch that you know that without a shadow of a doubt, what you have to offer will change somebody's life, change their business, change their home, change something. It all starts with you. And that is one of the most powerful things I can tell you, it all starts with you. Whatever you believe will be true. If you believe that this will never happen. That's the story you're going to tell yourself. And that's what's going to happen.
But if you believe that you're going to help the right people, when you put that launch out there when you when you create this offer, that the right people are going to come, I'm going to be able to help the right people. You are going to find out that that story is also true. I am super excited to share that. I'm not telling everybody this so don't go tell everybody I told you this. We have fears we have all these preconceived notions, right, maybe because of a failed launch or something like that. good to you. It doesn't feel gross. It doesn't feel like a lot of work. It's not exhausting. And you can actually make it fun.
