So many ads come across my screen about how easy it is to make money from your phone. While that can be true, it doesn't always start out easy, are you willing to do the hard things first so it can get easier later?

Speaker 1

I've seen so many ads lately where the majority of the conversation is talking about how easy it is to grow a business and run a business from your phone .

Now , where I do not deny that that is possible , I think what we're seeing happen is this is attracting people who are working a nine to five , who assume that it's just going to be so easy to start growing a business , and this , in fact , is false . Yes , does it get to start being easier ? 100% ? Is it hard at first ? Yes , and let me explain .

When you first sign up for a gym membership , you're excited , right , you're super excited . You're going to the gym Yay , me . And that is like the greatest feeling ever .

And then it gets harder because we're sore , we're tired , we're exhausted , our diet may have not caught up with the lifting or whatever we're doing at the gym , the cardio , and we start to feel all the feels . We don't see the results as fast as we want and we want to give up .

We want to quit because , just like the gym , just like running a business , there is not a whole lot of instant gratification . And so it gets harder , we become less and less consistent until sometimes we fall off the wagon , and I see this happen in businesses .

Someone wants to start a business , or they create a new offer , or they get something that gets them really excited in their business and they everybody's gung-ho to start right . And then we start having these feelings . I thought it would happen faster than this . I thought I would be making sales by now . I thought I would be here .

We struggle with keeping blinders on and we let things fall to the side . We start slipping , we stop being as consistent , we stop pushing ourselves because if I'm not going to see results , like , why should I try ? And so the cycle happens because it's easier to give up sometimes than it is to keep pushing forward and not getting results .

Lots of us struggle sticking with anything for a month , much less 60 days or 90 days or 180 days or 365 days , depending on who we are and depending on how we show up and depending on how often we show up and depending on how potent our messaging is and depending on how much clarity and how clear our message is Like all these play such a part into growing

a business . There are so many things that we get to work on and we get to improve on , but a lot of times you're like well , I made a sale , right , I made one sale , so I'm just going to keep doing this because it's working .

Now , that doesn't mean it's not working , it doesn't mean it's not going to work again , but normally we need to tweak things right . We need to tweak things and work on things and literally say things . So many times we get tired of hearing ourselves talk . There's a lot of noise , there's not a lot of competition , but there's a lot of noise .

And so , yes , I've been in business since 2016 . My business has evolved from a done for you service provider business to more of a mentorship and teaching others how to market and grow and be visible online . And really , I started being consistent with visibility in the end of 2018 . In 2019 , I decided that I was going .

Well , I found the domain the visibility queen and I decided I was going to take on the visibility queen . I was going to become her . I didn't start out as her , I was going to become her . And in 2020 is when I did my first . I'm going to challenge myself to do 100 videos in a month in 2021 .

I challenged myself to do 200 videos in a month in 2022 . I went on a 365 day uncomfortable journey . None of it was easy . Do cells come in easier today than they did two years ago ? 100% , yes , it's way easier . Do I make cells when I actually am not working ? Yes , did that happen two years ago ? Not really .

I think that there's this misconception that it's easy at the beginning , and I disagree with that . I do believe it gets to be easy Because , just like that gem that we were talking about , going to the gem , the gem membership right .

If we stick with it , even when we don't see results , even when we're crappy , even when we're not happy , even when we don't feel like it , even when we don't wanna go , it does get easier . It becomes a pattern , it becomes a habit , it becomes part of our day and it's something that we do .

And the same thing is true when you're growing a business , when you show up on video every single day for 365 days , or even if you're only doing it five days a week year two it's just part of what you do , it's not hard , it's just part of your strategy .

And if , every day , you're building relationships with no expectation in return , on year two , it's not hard , it's just part of your strategy . I'm just using a year as an example .

It may not take you a year , but are you willing to stick with things until they feel easy , until they no longer feel hard , or are you gonna consider that they're always gonna be hard and say to yourself they're always gonna be hard . So I'm done .

You know , when I got on video the very first time , very first years , I would say I really just wanted people to like me , and so my videos were very so-so , but people liked them . Right , they weren't necessarily buying , but they liked them .

And not a lot of people were on video because it was mostly live video and there wasn't a lot of competition or noise like there is today with reels and TikToks and short form video . But here's the thing I decided this is too easy .

It did become natural , it did become second hand to be on video every single day , multiple times a day sometimes , and so I said it's time to get vulnerable . It's time to get more emotional . It's time to talk about the hard stuff . It's time to talk about the past failures . It's time to talk about that time when things really sucked , chrissy .

It's time to talk about how you overcame X , y , z that you never wanted to tell anybody on the internet about , but it worked . I still work towards doing hard things , but I'm constantly stretching my comfort zone so that it doesn't feel as hard . One of my favorite quotes is I've survived 100% of my worst days .

So yes , I'm going to do the thing , and a lot of times I move so fast so I don't have time to talk myself out of it . So if I come up with an idea for a program that's blowing my mind , I might even go sell it that day .

Not even have a landing page , a name , a branding , nothing because I know the energy I'm in that moment will sell it more than me sitting at my computer for three hours working on a landing page , working on the branding , coming up with the name , coming up with the curriculum . I know what works and you get to find what works for you .

But it does get to be easy . It's just that are we willing to go through the hard things , go through the consistent actions , go through the consistent inspired actions day after day after day ? So that does get to be easier , so it appears easier .

I'll never forget when I finally hit six figures and I look back and I was like I know it wasn't easy , I know I had like a lot of hard days , but I feel like it was easy , like I forgot about all the hard things , and it was very , very interesting to me that so many other people that had hit six figures said the same thing .

It's hard sometimes to remember the hard times . Thankfully I have them all documented . Thankfully I can go back and look at them and I can put myself right back in that situation and remember how I felt . I remember what it felt like to not be consistent . I remember what it felt like when business was hard .

I'm not saying that business is always easy , because I think that's a misnomer right there , but it is way easier than it used to be because I've done nothing but push myself over and over and over . So the question is do you want to easy business and are you willing to do the hard things now for them to be easy later ?

I'm not a Dave Ramsey follower , but I know . I think one of the things he says is do the hard things now so it's easier later , and I do agree with that . I do agree by doing the hard things now , it does get to be easier later . Do the hard things now or do the easy things now and then it's harder later .

We always have a choice and we always get to decide . The question is do you want an easy business , and if you do , are you willing to do the hard things now to get yourself there ?
