Welcome to today's podcast episode . I missed you guys . It's been about a week and a half since I have posted an episode . Life's been a little crazy , but I wanted to make sure that I showed up today because I think it's important and I always want to make sure I have something to say before I show up too .
So , anyhow , this whole topic comes from a conversation that I've been having all evening with my inner circle and we were talking about platforms and all-in-one platforms and I told them about this one that I heard of that had like a $497 lifetime deal , and then I happened to go look it up and it was $97 lifetime .
Okay , first of all , this whole podcast is not to tell you to go buy anything . Okay , it's not what it's about . But it is about like everybody has something , I believe , that works with their brain . And this is true because I'll never forget I don't like five years ago I had a client who all we were allowed to use was Trello , and I hated Trello .
Trello did not work with my brain . Trello reminded me of a I'm gonna date myself , but maybe you guys have seen like the bulletin boards at like an old mom-and-pop grocery store and there's like all these things pinned all over it and there's no rhyme or reason . You've got some take one here .
You've got business cars , you've got lost a dog , you've got all this stuff and it's just like it's like a mess and there's no organization to it . And that's whenever I have used Trello . That is what it looks like to me , and so when someone introduced me to Asana , I loved Asana . Asana is exactly pretty much the same thing .
Yes , there are different features , but it's pretty much the same thing as Trello . Right Years ago I used to use MailChimp and I love MailChimp because I was used to it , right , and it was the thing . It doesn't mean it was the only platform to use . It doesn't mean it was the best . It was free , which was another very good incentive .
But when they started charging and I saw FloDesk , I was like , let me check out FloDesk . Now I have used because of my clients and running ads and all these things .
I have used MailChimp and FloDesk and I've used Active Campaign and I've used ConvertKit and I've used Mailer Lite and I've used all these platforms and to me , I will still grab , like I would , number one , the first option I will always pick as FloDesk . If I had to pick a second , it would probably MailChimp , but it's just because I've gotten used to it .
Right Again , none of these platforms are right or wrong and some of them are different price points . Some of them can handle more , some of them are more robust . None of them are more right for me or more wrong for you or anything like that . It's just that . What do I prefer ? What works really well for me , what works with my brain ?
You know , when I was using FG funnels , I had somebody who did all my funnels and it was not happening fast enough , and it was not her fault . I moved very fast . I don't want to wait on people . And I also had a WordPress website . Once again , they were willing to do all my funnels and everything .
And I was like , I've just got to make a decision , like , do I really want to wait on somebody or want to figure this out on my own ? And I made the tough decision that you know I'm going to give myself two whole days , a full weekend , and I'm going to try to figure this platform out . If I can't figure it out , then I will go with something else .
But I'm like I'm talking eight hour days , like so 16 hours investing in learning a platform , because I do believe that every platform has like a learning curve , right and so I took two days and figured it out and I was like , okay , this is not as hard Now .
When I first went in , it was huge learning curve , but by the time I was done I felt , okay , I feel comfortable with this , I know this . And today , two and a half years later , I have clients that don't . They're not facing me , like I'm behind their computer . We're having a one on one in person and they're like , how do I do this ?
And I'm like , yeah , go here , here , here . And she's like you just know that by heart , like , yep , I do , because I just utilized it right and I've done it enough to know . And I want you to know that that is also the truth about their platforms , tools , software .
That's why there are many right , there are so many , because different ones work better for our brains or they look better to our eyes , or somebody taught us that we admired and we and we picked up on the learning . So all of that is different .
But the thing is is that also mentors and teachers and experts there's so many and there can be so many , because everybody is attracted to something different . Everyone is attracting to , attracted to a different personality , to a different learning style , to a different way that people explain things .
And you know also , maybe somebody who came in my world when I first started teaching thought I sucked . Some people may come in today and think I suck , I don't know , but maybe thought I sucked . But today I've changed so much because I know like I'm so much more confident in what I'm doing . I've evolved so much .
Right Now , today they may be like oh my God , this works so well for me . And so I think we get to first of all , not be hard on ourselves . If somebody loves like , tells you that they love this person , it's amazing . But you just don't get it . Because there are people that I love on social media .
I love , I'm obsessed with their content , I love it all . But then I've done some of their trainings . I mean like I'm just not learning well with this teaching style . It's not . It's not that I don't like them , it's not that I disagree with them , it's just they can't hold my attention , and I think that's really important , right ?
If you can't hold my attention , I'm not going to learn , and I love learning . I love learning , and so I want you to think about that for a second . I want you to think about this in a couple of different ways , right ? Like , maybe you've purchased something from somebody before you didn't like it , so therefore you're never purchasing anything again .
Okay , and that scenario , maybe that didn't work out for you , but it was a reason , right , it doesn't mean it's you , it doesn't mean it's necessarily the person . It was , maybe the way that the material was presented or the way it was talked about , or the formatting , or something , right ?
And the other thing I want you to know is that also , a lot of times in our businesses , we think that things are so saturated . But no , it's not , because now and again , all these platforms are not identical , but they all do similar things . We no longer just have Trello and Asana , we have what ?
Clickup , and I can't even think of all the names of these things Mondaycom , and I think what is ? It ? Is Microsoft Teams , one of them too . Like , there's so many , right , there's so many . And there's so many for a reason because there is room for everyone . Right , there's room for everyone . And I think that we get to remember that .
We get to remember that for ourselves , right , when something didn't work out , or maybe made a purchase and we didn't learn , or we didn't learn what we thought we should have , or maybe we just didn't implement so we blamed it on ourselves , I don't know right .
But also , when it comes to us showing up in a Maybe we feel like there's a lot of competition , but is there really ?
No , there's not a lot of competition , because once people see exactly how you do what you do and why you do what you do , and they see you in action especially if you're a digital market or or a course creator or a mentor or an expert they're gonna realize right away yes , I love this or don't love this , and it's okay either way .
The thing is is that we , when we are creating programs , we are creating containers . We are creating things like that . It is our job as the expert . It is our job to create a container that create success . It is the end users Job to do the work that creates a success . Right , we can't create success for people .
We can give them the path they get to decide what that looks like and how much work they're gonna put in and how much how consistent they're gonna be .
And this , this goes for everything , not just like Growing a business , but getting healthy and getting in shape and , you know , working on your mindset and becoming more confident in all of these things , and so I just wanted to . I thought this was an interesting conversation .
I thought it was interesting that we had so many different platforms and everybody has a different love for their platforms , and that's okay .
But even though you have a strong conviction and love for the things that you use and the things that you Pay for and the mentors that you use , it doesn't mean that that's everybody's gonna fill the same way and everybody doesn't have to fill the same way .
That doesn't lessen your experience and it doesn't lessen your love for the product , the service , the course , whatever right . And the same thing is true when people come to you . So I hope this helped you , hope this served you , and remember we're all attracted to different people for a different reason .
We all Learn different ways , and just because you know you don't learn well with what way one person teaches something doesn't mean that that's the way it'll be across the board . And that also goes for you , your clients . They're gonna love you and they're gonna want more from you . And those that leave , it's okay . It's okay .
It's rarely personal and that feels really good .
