I want to talk to you about 2023. And, or whenever you're listening to this the next year, or the next season or the next quarter, or whatever it is that you're thinking about approaching, and you're thinking about changing things up. And I don't want to know, here's the things I don't want to know, I don't want to know how much money you want to make. I don't want to know when your programs
are gonna launch. I don't want to know like how many times you're gonna get on social media, like, I really, truly have a question for you. And this is what I want you to answer. And this is what I want you to think about moving forward. How much freedom do you want? How many hours do you want to work? How many vacations Do you want to take? Do you only want to do calls on certain days of the week? Or do you only want to do calls on certain timeframes of the week, maybe only in the afternoon?
When we think about business, a lot of times we think about systems, and we think about marketing, and we think about content creation, and we think about revenue generating. And we forget the whole reason that we most likely started this business, and I'm assuming most people, when they said, I'm going to do my own business, I'ma start my own business, they probably left a nine to five, maybe maybe not, but most people probably lifted 95 or had a goal
of leaving a nine to five. I know some people do love their nine to five, and there's nothing wrong with that. But most people probably do want the freedom, right? To choose to leave their nine to five to stay in their nine to five to walk away, if they want to look for other opportunities and a stress free environment. Like there are so many reasons. But we forget that time freedom that we actually wanted in the first place we forget to think about
that anymore. What we think about is my to do list that's never gonna get done. The things I want to create the things I want to do. As far as in my business, the money I want to make, you know, continuously reaching more goals, putting out more content, all these things are important. Don't get me wrong. But from a planning perspective, why are we not planning what we really want? Why are we not going back to the beginning, when we said I am starting a business for freedom,
I am starting a business. And it could be financial freedom, it could be time freedom, it could be just work when you want. It could be to travel the world. And you know, live like a nomad and work everywhere work from everywhere, right. But then when we plan out the next year, the next quarter, the next week, the next month, whatever, we're not thinking about that. And I want you to to realize that I've made a lot of money, and had not a lot of time. Okay, like literally working 80 hours a
week for a lot of money. And then when I changed my business model, I started making less money. Still really good money was funny. The coach I worked with said, Why don't you walk in the mall and ask how many people are making that a month? Because you might find one person? You know, because most people aren't in this space that we're in. And I was like, okay, that's perspective correct. And you're changing your entire business
model. You're going from less one on one clients to more products and or programs and passive whatever you want to call them, right group programs, life teaching, all those types of things, really hybrid teaching. And I was like, okay, interest. Interesting. Good point. Good point. Still making more than I would make it a nine to five. And to give you some background on my nine to five.
And what that was is I was a recruiter, which is basically sales if you think about it, because my job was to find developers and project managers and things like that. So I did it recruiting. I don't know if I've ever even talked about that on this podcast, because it seems like so long ago, but I did that for years. And I remember one of my first years doing it. I was 21 years old. And I said They said, I want to
pay you a salary. I was like, No, I want straight commission, which if you think about this, this is like being an entrepreneur. And so when I was 21 years old, I made $100,000. Like $106,000, I made my first six figures. And then literally never did it again until in my 40s, when I own my own business, which is interesting. But I always wanted a job of I always wanted a job of us have a salary when I had kids, this is after
it gets. So when I had kids, I wanted salary and commission, because number one, I wanted the security of a salary. But I wanted the freedom to be able to make more money, right to have control over my income, which, which is interesting, because now I have 100% control over it. But, um, and I don't even know where I was going with that. So we're just going to move on. But yeah, that's what I did in a
past life. And one of the reasons that I actually left doing that was because, and again, I probably haven't said this on the podcast, I really just had to go back and remember this, to be honest with you. But in 2012, I started my skincare business with my business partner. And the reason I did that was number one, I wanted
time freedom. But number two, my daughter was struggling, she was in kindergarten, and she was struggling with reading and they said she is so behind, like, you really have to work with her, or we're gonna have to like, you know, do some intervention and get some help for her. And six months home with her she was at the reading level she was supposed to be, which is a huge thing. And not that I couldn't have done that and worked let me
be very clear. But when I worked my nine to five, I drove an hour each direction, not because it was an hour away. But because traffic was so bad. No one at that time, believed in working from home, right. And so whenever I did, like work from home, I'm doing air quotes and can't see it. But like, that's what they thought like, literally, you're just laying around on the couch all day, blah, blah, blah, not doing anything. And we need to see you in the office to make sure
you're doing things. Isn't that crazy how things changed. And then 2020 ever, but it was like go home. But anyhow, I did that for the time freedom and and I got a point in in the business I have now that I never looked up from my desk. Matter of fact, I used my overworking for a while to cope with like the pandemic and things like that I didn't know what to do. And I literally just worked, because I felt like I was inaction. And I find was
as long as I was in action. I wasn't worrying which I do think action cures worry, don't get me wrong. But I was a little extreme on that. But anyhow, it got to the point that I realized this is not for me. Not for me, I had at one point, I want to say 15 One on One clients, you can't sustain that. And it wasn't just content clients, there were ad clients too. But when you're creating at least five pieces of content a week for let's say even five clients,
right? I mean, five times five is what does that 25 pieces of content a week. Anybody who knows, if you're putting out good content, that is not easy. That is not easy. Like, if you are really taking the time to to do those things, it's not it's not an easy, an easy feat at all. And the thing was that that helped me get to where I am now, obviously, with complete time freedom about to go to Hawaii, for the third time in a 12 month
period. And the thing that has really led to that and helped me get where I want to go is number one, I cannot deny visibility, I cannot deny that visibility has given me the freedom that I get because I wouldn't be able to attract the people that I attract, feel the containers that I have, and all of that without visibility. And I believe that deep down in my heart and soul. So my question is, are you planning your next year, quarter month, whatever with the thought process of my
time freedom. And if you're thinking well Crissy I was going to do time freedom, and I really wanted some time freedom, but now I can't because you just told me to be visible. No, your visibility should be very minimal time of your day. You could truly be visible in about 15 minutes a day. If that and if you wanted a book, create it in an hour on a weekend. You could also do that and repurpose the crap out of that because we work harder versus smarter. So who
wants time freedom? Raise your And how much are we wanting to get in the next month, year, quarter? Whatever we're looking at planning? And why is that not the focus of what's going to happen in the next year versus the programs and everything else we're gonna want to those are great. And those are amazing. And I want to help you do that too. But I want us to focus on freedom as a priority. I'll never forget, one of my words of
the year was freedom. And I laugh now, because I was like, I was a workaholic, that there was no freedom for me, right? Even though I loved what I did. And I don't think there's anything with working like, you know, now, obviously, my kids are older. And I stopped working to get my daughter from school. And then she actually started wanted a job because she wanted to choose totally her mother's daughter. And so when she goes to work, I go back to work, right? Because
I can. But it's funny, because yesterday, I worked about, I don't know, I did my inner circle call. And I did a couple other things supporting, I maybe worked two and a half, three hours. Today, I'm working in the evening, because I took off the day to really go with my business bestie she's about to have a baby. And I just wanted to spend time with her. And we just wanted to do something together. Because I'm about to go to Hawaii, she's gonna have
the baby while I'm gone. And so we just wanted to be together. And it's like, I was able to do that I recorded my calls. This is why I have hybrid programs. By the way, I highly recommend hybrid programs, because that means if I can't be available live today, I'm just going to record this and it's going to be a drop. And there was nothing wrong with that. Technically, it was still a live program, because I literally recorded it this morning. I just had it scheduled to drop at noon. Take
back your freedom. Take back your time. How is that going to look different? In the next again, week, month, year, quarter, whatever you're looking at planning. Take back your time. Stop allowing everybody else including clients to run your time. And if it's if it's a means of like, well, I really I have no boundary issues. Okay, that's sorry, we get to boundaries as a part of your systems. Clients are not allowed to call you whenever they want.
Clients are not allowed to like set up 50 calls a month, they're not allowed to message you 50 times a day. That is not allowed. Yes, you may allow it. But you get to set boundaries and you get to set a new standard for them. Take back your time. And eventually let's move away from so many clients. And let's get you some products, programs and things going in your business so that you can really enjoy that time freedom that you wanted when you first
started this venture. You know what I'm talking about friend, you've just pushed it down to the side because you got to get clients and you got to make money and you got to do all these things that you tell yourself that technically, you can actually make more, doing less and that is what I want for you
