So today I want to talk about traffic. Because when we are trying to grow a following when we are trying to have purchases when we are trying to get people to opt in, we have different types of traffic. And I think it's important to know those three types of traffic. And if you've ever read the book, traffic secrets by Russell Brunson, you've heard of these, but I want to go a little bit more in depth with them. So the first type of traffic that we

have is borrow traffic. And borrow traffic is anytime you post on any social media platform that you do not own right. So we don't own Facebook, or Instagram, or Facebook communities, or YouTube or Tik Tok, or Pinterest. Like we do not own that traffic, any traffic that is sent to us is number one, we get followers, right, or subscribers depending on which platform we're on. And we also have like the algorithm,

right? So we used to be kind of confined, when it came to Facebook and Instagram, with only our followers seeing it or on Instagram, you could search by hashtags. But it was really hard to grow following on Facebook, especially business pages, and then we have real so now we're getting more traffic because of that, that opportunity to get outside of this the one platform, right? So

or the one set of followers. So that is our borrowed traffic, however, it is borrowed, we don't own any of those platforms, which means we could lose our account, we could get hacked, there's all these horrible things that can happen. So we can't always think about, oh, let me put all my eggs in this basket, right. The second type of traffic that we have is our own traffic. So we own our

own traffic, right? It is an asset, it's called our email list or SMS messaging list, or however you communicate with those people that have signed up for XYZ from you, right. So we own this traffic, which means I control when things go out, I control who's on the list, unless they unsubscribe, I control what list is going to what segment, it's going to all of this up, I own this. And I can take this with me to multiple email platforms. Or I could take that list and like

run ads to it. So there's a lot of different things I can do with a list that I own. So that is my own traffic. If I choose to send an email once a week, whether whether they open or not, is not the point. The point is I'm directing that traffic to them. And then the third type of traffic is paid traffic. So paid traffic can come in many different forms. It can come in YouTube ads, Google ads, Pinterest ads, or Facebook ads.

So this is where I'm literally taking a piece of content, or I'm taking a lead magnet or a purchase item. And I'm sending it out to a audience that I think would be interested in buying. Here's the thing, some people think that pay traffic is actually cheating. And it's not because people still choose, do

I opt in? Do I click this just like they would if it's organic traffic, there's nothing that making somebody click right, except your amazing copy, and your amazing whatever type of video or media that asset they're using. That's the only thing that's drawing them in. Nobody's forcing people to consume that are forcing people to do the next thing, whatever the call to action is on that. So it's is it getting you in front of a wider audience? Absolutely. Are you paying for

it? Absolutely. But can it be good for your business? If you feel like the platform's are not helping you or they're, they're against you, right? I don't want you to really necessarily have that mentality. But I want you to know that we can pay to get a wider reach. Here's the thing what most people don't realize, a lot of people think, Oh, this isn't doing as well as I thought it would if I had paid traffic, it would. Typically we want something to be converting already when we put paid money

behind it, right? Because there's still a testing process when we have money behind something. But if I've already got it converting whether it's free or paid, it doesn't really matter. But people are already opting in or people are already purchasing on the organic side of things that just makes my paid side of testing so much more easier. So I want you to think about like these three types of traffic where do you feel like you need the most support? Do you not have an

email list? Do you need to work on growing that do have you ever like ran paid traffic and increased like this bubble or circle or network that you currently have and kind of gotten out of that? That's what I want you to think about more of in 2023 Because again, with thankfully we have rules and we can get such a wide reach with reels and tic TOCs and they're shown to more than just the people that follow us, but we can add some like gasoline to that and spread it out even

further. I used to I compare Facebook ads to a billboard. And so you have this billboard, and people are driving by it, right? But what are they doing? They're only consuming it, if it gets their attention, it's gonna pull them in, right. And then obviously, with a billboard, it's a little bit harder, because you actually have to go type it in somewhere, there's nobody driving down the road. Most people aren't trying to take a picture of that, or like scanning a QR code or

something like that. So and we also, obviously, we know that roads are busy, or how busy of certain road is, but there's no demographics on who paid more attention or pause or looked at that there's no demographics on anybody who took a picture of that or went to the website right then and there. When we have something like paid traffic like Facebook ads, we're able to do so much. Right? We can

retarget people. So anybody that clicks that ad or clicks to your website, we can retarget them, anybody who adds to cart, but doesn't finish checking out, we can retarget them, Hey, do you forget this was in your cart. So there's a lot of control that we have a lot more control that we have with the Facebook ad than we do like a billboard, for example. But just like that billboard, it's being seen by more than people that are on

your list. And on your social media, it's being seen by the public, everybody driving by that. The same thing is true with a Facebook ad, again, depending on your targeting, it's going to show up in people's newsfeeds. They have the choice, whether they're

clicking on that or not. So it's not lazy when we put hate advertising behind something because we still have to pay attention to grabbing their attention, we still have to pay attention to our copy and our messaging and how's it pulling them in, we still want to stop the scroll, we still want to intrigue and pull them in and have them desire, whatever it is that we are trying to offer. Again, I don't care if it's free or paid. I have clients who get 30% conversion rates on free

offers up to 80%. So it really just there's, it's it can vary. But just because it's free doesn't mean that everybody's going to take it right. So I want you to think about how are you going? And how can you implement paid traffic into your 2023 strategy. And if you're like, I have no idea where to start, I have started with Facebook ads and or if I boosted something before, let me be clear boosting is not Facebook ads. Boosting is just putting

some money behind a post. It is not strategic, it doesn't have the capabilities that the Facebook ad manager has. And that's what I want to teach you about for 2023. So our next program coming up in January is igniting your visibility by using paid advertising. Okay. So

what can we do with that? That video, we can get serve it to more people, we can build an audience that lot that opt in or lead magnet, we can put that in front of more people right and increase our lead gen strategy, we can increase so many things, we can put a paid offer on the thank you page or confirmation page of the free thing. And they give people the opportunity to buy. I call that I get paid to grow my list. There's so many cool things that we can do with

paid advertising. And the great thing is is that yes, obviously, the more you spend, the more you're going to see results almost always or the faster you're going to be able to test. But even with $5 today, $150 a month in advertising. I remember when I had my first business, and we did paid advertising we did like magazines and things like that. We would have never been able to do like $5 a day. I think the minimum was four $50 for like a half a page or something like

that. And then I got no retargeting, right, I got nothing out of that. If you do a mailer, the same thing, you can't tell who throws it in the trash. And who is really interested, you can't retarget them. So the most important thing is that paid advertising is going to support you in pouring gasoline on to your r&d strategy. So whatever you're doing, you're going to drive more traffic, whatever you're doing, you're going to have more opt ins if it is done correctly.

And that is why everybody has been asking, When are you going to start teaching Facebook ads? I've been running ads for three and a half years, four years. And it is something that I have a couple of clients that probably will be running ads forever because we have such access. I will run ads forever because I believe in it and I see what it's done for my business. It's also how I got my list over 12,000 I've never would have done that without

ads. Yes, I got really lucky in 2020 when everybody pulled their spending and I stayed in and kept putting gasoline on the lead magnet that was converting at 70 5% And everybody pulled so my cost went way down. But Facebook ads they do fluctuate the pricing, the competition that all fluctuates. It's just are you willing to pay to play the pay to play game? Or are you just going to sit back and just wait on organic results when you could fast track what you really want through a Facebook ads

strategy. If you want more information on this Facebook ads, ignite your visibility, we're using paid advertising is actually in presale right now. There are payment options available. We'll start probably the second week of January. And we'll make sure that you get all those dates. And you can do this with us alive. We typically have a paid or not paid. We typically have a live q&a at the end. So you can ask any questions that you didn't get answered during the program. But I really want

to do this with you. I want to help support you and show you what ads can do to your strategy. What ads can do to your leads what ads can do to your entire business. If this is a part of it, you want to add into your ecosystem. So if you want more information, make sure you send me a send me a DM or drop a message in the comments and I will get that for you so that we can start helping you with your paid traffic for 2023
