Episode description

This week on the podcast, Tammi and Sondra are excited to share a conversation with Sharon Walters. Sharon is a London-based artist who creates hand-assembled collages that explore black identity and mainstream beauty standards. She is also an educator, part-time coordinator of community engagement programs at a London museum, a wife, mom and recently celebrated one year of sobriety. They talk about her work and how her creative life has opened up since quitting alcohol, they talk about how she creates her fragile but fierce pieces and the meaning behind the dichotomy of elements, and they talk about fashion. You can learn more about Sharon and see her dead gorgeous work at https://www.londonartist1.com/ and follow along on Instagram @london_artist1. This week, Sharon shares three items from her Unruffled Toolbox: (1) Collage materials; (2) Find alcohol-free drinks that you like and drink from lovely glasses; and (3) Finding a support network of friends either online or in real life.
