Episode description

Yobe Qiu is an author, entrepreneur, and educator. Growing up in NYC, she benefited from the diversity of her community and learned about different cultures. This motivated her to become an educator so she can work closely with students of all backgrounds. After earning her Masters in Education, Yobe founded several private preschool and after-school programs that focus on teaching love, inclusion, and the beauty of diversity. Through working in the classrooms and closely with our teachers, Yobe noticed the lack of multi-cultural resources available for children of color as well as her rich Asian traditions. That is when Yobe decided to create multi-cultural children stories that feature the diversity in the communities she works in.  Today, Yobe has successfully advised dozens of education companies to continue growing education systems that serve all students in America as well as new authors to join her in creating many more stories that feature diverse families. Yobe shares how putting hard work and dedication into her first business venture helped her succeed as an entrepreneur and also boost her confidence along the way.
