Episode description

From the term "deadbeat dads" to the popular Temptations’ song: “Papa Was A Rollin' Stone," we are often reminded that some fathers just don't measure up to the criteria of being good parents. And, still, there are good fathers: Malcolm X, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., President Barack Obama, to name a few iconic names.

“Father’s Day" comes early this year as the cast celebrates good fathers on this episode! Special guest, Mr. COAD (pronounced 'Code'), joins in on the discussion to explore:

  • the stereotype of the absentee father in black and brown communities,
  • perspectives and anecdotal evidence on what makes a good father -&-
  • perilous devices (e.g., at times, an ineffective court system) that separate children from their good fathers.
