So I still get this question, um, and I'm not laughing because it's a silly question ish. In fact, one of my favorite lines is, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people. And I'm not trying to imply that anyone that asks this is stupid. But I think it does indicate a little bit of the head in the sand mentality.
And the question that I keep getting asked is, Hey, we're seeing a lot about the great resignation in the news on social media, LinkedIn, professional articles, whatever their source might be. Is that really real? Is this really happening? And I have to chuckle. If you aren't firsthand experiencing it, one of two things is happening. Really, your head is super, super in the sand and you're not really aware of what's going on around you or it just hasn't hit you yet.
Is the great resignation real? Absolutely. People are tired. They're burned out. They want to change. They've had an opportunity over the last. Just a couple of years to reevaluate their life and they're making some very real decisions. Some of them are super simple. Hey, I've had an opportunity to spend a ton of time with my family over the last couple of years. I'm never going back to the office to work and they stay remote. For some of them, it's, you know what? My employer sucks.
I'm out of here for some is this industry sucks. I'm out of here for some, it's, it's all kinds of things. Some of it can be very positive, but either way. Our reality is this, the Great Resignation is on. So is it real? Yup. And if you aren't dealing with it, especially if you're in a position of authority, you better game on because it is about to rock your world. The Great Resignation is very real.
