All right. Good evening, everybody. Welcome to the spin. February 21st, not a great afternoon for me, took second place on the whiteboard. It was a good show though. It was a great show. Absolutely, absolutely. Yeah. That was as Seth started answering the last question
about the goat. And then looking at Hiller's reaction, I knew that we were all all on the same page and at some point I didn't have a a way to get out of that and pivot, but I I thought maybe my olive oil swig might have have gotten him to. Did you do a full swig? Really. Oh yeah, it was real. Get them fats up. Oh yeah, that was it was intense. But I tried. I tried. So what did you guys think would you have on the brand question? What was the brand question
again? Sorry, I was in a. Non so if you want to get it all fancy, non endemic. CrossFit. Brand CrossFit brand and how would you pitch to them? Yeah, that would be tough. I'd have to give that one like a day's worth of thought. What did you say, Brian? I said I don't want to go just find anybody to give us money. I want a partner brand that actually supports and lives by the CrossFit mantra versus just taking money. You know what I would have done
there? I would have been like, I'm not going to go to Coca-Cola and say that you should partner with CrossFit because we're not about that life. I want to be with people. I mean, I brought up the whole monster stuff. But the Coca-Cola thing would have hit Pedro in the fields. You would have gotten points mentioning Coca-Cola and be like, I'm not going to sit here and be freaking out Chama and just drink Coca-Cola all day and act like that's the way to health and fitness.
No, I want people who live that life. It's OK, Brian. I mean, if I was on there, I clearly would have won. We all know. You're such a sore loser. It's OK. You know, it's it's all good, man. It's all good. You did your best. You did great, but I do think that would have earned points with with Peter. It's hard. It's hard to find another rogue because that is that's essentially what you want to do is find a rogue. But but that's not endemic and it's like, that's so hard.
Like I don't want to use the word niche, but it's like it's hard to fill that. Like where do we overlap with other people or other brands? Right. I mean, I think, I think Seth picking a credit card institution, finance institution was probably the safest route you could go. He started losing me when he's like you could track yourself and track all the stuff you're doing and get discounts for moving and all like that. No, that's not my style, but fair enough.
All right, We got a good show. Want to cover a lot of information that's been going out a lot of the news this week we'll get to your viewer comments. We'll take a look at the top 25 media poll, go through all three of the open announcements, get our takes on it blind rankings. And then we will finish off with a special betting with the boys. A little bit heat, one flavor. So this one you'll definitely want to stay around for because. You get to play along.
Yeah, you guys will be able to play along and if you've been waiting for what's going on in the open with heat one, you will find out. So all right, first one, Laura Horvath going to the European Weightlifting Championships, putting up a two O 5 total. John thoughts on Laura lifting out there and how she did. She should have just gone into a
joke. Right there. Well, I mean if you if you ask her, I think she would have said like she had a really poor performance like she went two out of six and like in in weightlifting. I honestly was amazed at the weightlifting commentary. His name is Seb Austrawick's or something like that. His YouTube channel is Weightlifting House and if you're part of the weightlifting community, they're essentially like the sevon of the weightlifting community or or
spin. They're not like as out there as Sevon gets sometimes but like they're the news source for weightlifting and they are announcing this and they said CrossFit about a million times. And I was just, I enjoyed listening to their commentary. As far as what Laura lifted I mean we she lifted numbers that I know she can lift I and she
went two out of six. I think she, I think she's disappointed in her performance but I it it does show what cross fitters can do versus like elite people in their, you know in their own sport. It's I it's honestly pretty crazy. She can even go to the European Championships and and be top ten and whatever, like you really think about it. And she was in contention to potentially get a bronze in the cleaning jerk. But if she'd hit her, her lifts. But I don't think she would have
ended up that way. But she was at least in the running for it. And she did hit her lifts. So they just didn't. They just wouldn't. They didn't count in. Any green lighter? No, the first one, I think. Yeah, here it is. White light, sorry. Yeah, they they red lighted her very quickly. And this is something that, like a lot of people, if you're not in the weightlifting world, like you don't understand, like I would say.
I see it, yeah. I would say like 70% of the lifts you see would not count on the platform. It has to be the cleanest thing in the world and like there cannot be that hers. Was hers, was microscopic. It was barely at all it. Wasn't though for the weight like the. Way I understand. Like they'll they've called stuff, red lights that it's like you just kind of your elbows went back a little bit like, you
know what I mean? Like it's it's and like doing it on a platform is wildly different than doing it at a CrossFit competition. And it's. I think it's lost on a lot of people if you're not like in the weightlifting world. I'm glad that she hit one though, 'cause I was scared that she was she bombing not going to. You know what? I mean, her cleans look very strong. Those were the easy part. And then it was just. That's a jerk. And I tell. You what? He looks slim, which I think is
a good thing for her. She probably. Do you think she cut a little bit to go into this? Probably, yeah. But like, I think, like in her mindset, I think is you know what? I'm going to go head first into weightlifting for a little bit and then, but I'm going to like get in this lower weight class or whatever that she's in. And that way her weightlifting will stay top tier and she'll be smaller, which is just going to help her in the gymnastics that she struggles with.
Everything else she's going to keep fitness wise, like being smaller doesn't hurt her at all except in weightlifting. And if you're working weightlifting, she's already the strongest one. You know what I mean? Like, maybe on her worst day somebody can beat her, but right now she's the strongest one of the girls that are going to make the games. Danny Spiegel not included, right. And so, like, I get it. I think it's a smart move. Yeah, no, it was.
I'm glad I was able to get that and put that out there so that we could everybody could see it. It's a shame somebody from CrossFit didn't follow her around or video or I wonder if because she has a YouTube channel or if they put anything out. Well, usually everything comes through Rad, which she was wearing a Rad singlet. She's also wearing Mark Bell's knee sleeves. I don't know if you saw that. No, I didn't pay attention to that. No, but rad. I definitely noticed the rad. The rad one.
I saw a lot of people saying they wanted one. Next one. Dave Castro. He There we go. There we go. Dave Castro. What he he said he I was going to be a lot more involved in the games. Let's. Take a listen with me back. I provided feedback and guidance with the games. I'm definitely finding myself. I'm going to be heavily involved, even in A at a creative level. I started working on the schedule and started working on the flow and just got really sucked in.
We'll all work together, but I'm definitely enjoying kind of with the games and and leaning into that. In his defense, hold on. Hold on, hold on. Ryan, Do you do you have the meme? Do you have the meme on on hand? Don't you know what I'm talking about? I do. Let me let me pull this up here. Before go ahead Tyler while he's pulling it up. Well, I was going to say in his defense of years that this needs to land.
This is it. And I would not want to put it on anybody else's back if I were him besides my own. So that's what I was going to say. Here we go. This is fantastic. Can you read it for them? So Bosman when Castro says he's heavily involved with this year's programming. And so this is. Yeah, man. This was Zuckerberg at AUFC match and he stayed in there and the guys just keep handing them stuff right past them and. His his hand reach. His his the hand reach that he
does. It kills me on one of the. I love that he's. There it is. There he is. Passes it all, Yeah, I'm involved. I'm part of the team. Yeah, that's the that's the first thing I thought of. And I saw that meme over the weekend. Then when when Dave said this, I was like, oh man, like, what do you make of this Tyler? Like Dave being back creatively, there's a team. He's already mentioned last week he was highly into the schedule. I mean, what is?
He I mean like like I said like he's the he's the goat by the by default essentially because there's been no one else but but but Bosman and Bosman hasn't had it long. But how? Many people are going to suck off Dave today. I'm not sucking him off. You're not listening. I think I wonder if he left a little bit out. Like Boz already has some of the programming thought out and he's giving. He like they're doing it collaboratively. But I hope, I hope that he's not kicking Boz all the way out
because I like Boz's flair. I like the way Boz writes events. But like I said, with the pressure that's on for this year to land, I'm going to want to hold that real close to the chest, you know what I mean? Yeah, Yeah. What do you think? Me and Brian. Either. Go ahead, John. I I I'm happy that he said he's
going to be more involved. I I think there is AI think there is a good mix somewhere somewhere And if they find it no you don't understand what like like like Dave is very high volume high reps we're going to see who can survive and then the fittest person will be the one who survives the best like he wants to break your body and we'll see who doesn't break.
Right Boz execution Boz his skills like it's it's and it's very evident but like I think there's a good combination somewhere in the line where you can have like execution with seeing who survives right Like and and I don't know what that looks like but I'm hoping like I think somewhere if we if you can find that middle ground we could have like the greatest games ever as far as programming goes. And like I'm thinking like like we probably like there's no need to see crossover double unders
when nobody can do them. You know what I mean? Like that's not something you just spring on people. You could spring the parallette free hand standing thing because some people will have it, the gymnast will have it. I don't think you spring crossover double S for some people like and like. People can do them now, but yeah, I don't know. You understand what I'm saying? Like yeah, that that event would never have been programmed. Under Dave. Under Dave.
Right. And I'm not saying like we shouldn't do things like that, but I'm just saying like I think there is a good combo somewhere between the two, the two, those two guys. I don't think. It's great that it's. I don't think it's great when it's just overkill and he survives either. It's cool. It's fun. I enjoy seeing the winner, but I do think there's I enjoy seeing what boss does too. When like, hey, let's this is a skill that's going to be hard. Let's see who's got it.
And like, I enjoy that in the quarterfinals level almost more than anything, because it really separates the people who just work out a lot and are fit and the people who are like, actually athletic and can and can adapt on something they haven't done before, right? And I'm. I'm excited. I hope the two truly work together. And it's not just Dave run the show or Baz run the show. If if it ends up people think Dave's run the show, but they're really collaborative, that's
fine. But that's how I That's how I. When you say that, it makes go ahead, sorry. Yeah, T bird. Does anyone think Baz cares a lot if Dave is involved? They're friends. And I mean it's they've been that way since the beginning. I I'd imagine it feels like falling into into place for him.
But after having the games for a year and a half, I mean do you want somebody to come in there and start your vision of you thought right, like I've I I came in last minute in 2223 I got my whole thing and now like vetoed again. I I yeah, like, I have their like a vision of how it's going to go and now maybe it goes in a different direction. You can't. You just don't look at it like that. Like, like what do you? Mean, for instance. OK, so.
If if boss looks at the games this past year and he's like this, this was the greatest games ever program that I did right. Like all him, like this was the
greatest games ever programmed. If it was like unanimous people thought that way then it's like I got it but and I'm not saying it was a bad games I don't think it was but if you can see if you can like just let go of your ego for a minute and be like I think we can create a better product and work together versus having an ego about it. And I this is for Dave too you know what I mean. Out of those two, Dave's more likely to have the ego than box. True or wrong? That's. Probably true.
That's probably true. But I, and I'm saying like both of them and both of them like, this is my idea, OK? This is how I've always done it. Collaborate. If they can let go of their ego, I think we'll get the best product. I think it's. Hard. My thing is, why haven't they done that? Like Dave had a decade to get it to get it right to to to hammer that that true right. And boss needs the reps and so it's like why? And then I think, why haven't they been doing that for the
past five years? I understand doing that for the first, you know, 10 to 8 years, but it's like you need an understudy. So why wasn't he there in the 1st place? Why wasn't this hand off smooth to begin with? Why do we have to backpedal? Yeah, but he should have had an understudy at all times. And that understudy was boss. Not if you take it back. Yeah. He didn't voluntarily leave. He didn't it. No, but Bosman was. Bosman was the you you just got, you just replaced him.
I think what Tyler's saying is have Bosman in there being collaborative for years, he. Would have had the reps. Right like you come in there. I get what you're saying. I get what? You're saying and I think that's where Dave, Dave came in there last year and was like I made some tweaks, right. Like he and we saw it at semi finals where I don't think again though I don't think the semi finals would have been programmed the same way.
They won't be the same way as what it was last year, right. And I think that's experience and that's where that's where I was always wondering was Bosman's now had a full season. He's learned it. And then you, how excited would you be to be able to implement those things then you know, the second full year and that, yeah, maybe how that starts? Working out, you start cooking, you know, like as soon as semi finals is over, you're like, oh, I see what I should have done
differently. And same thing with the games. And it's like, especially since that was his first full season, you'd think he'd have all these ideas. So it's weird. I do think, John, with what you were saying, my brain starts thinking most of Dave's most iconic events and the and the the kill you with volume are outside. Now that being said, he programmed killer regional workouts that are like that are volume killers. So I mean I don't hate it.
I I hope they come to what John is saying where they they have this really good back and forth and collaborative and maybe Dave gets final say or whatever, but we'll see. Also coming out earlier this week, the Pitt Teen Throwdown and the PFAA partners together to create a mentorship program for the 120 athletes who will end up qualifying for the teenage CrossFit Games this summer. It's a 10 week program. It looks like Pat Velner, Ariel Lowen, Paige Powers have all signed up already.
Some comments in the art in the post I had on Instagram. It sounds like some others are interested in it. Initial thoughts on this type of program for the teens, Tyler? I want to know your thoughts first, honestly. At first I'm like is there a need for it right? I got because what it talks about is like movement and. Coaching. Yeah, I was like coaching and movement and I was just like, I don't. I don't get it like this. Doesn't they all have coaches.
They all have. A lot of them are probably in a camp. I I don't get it. And then as more I guess the athletes were coming in and saying they wanted to work with them and do more, I I think it'll it could be beneficial for those who want it. It's A to me, I just see APR play to get at, to get younger athletes to want to participate. Because if I know that, like I'm going to get to chum it up with with Fukowski for a while and he's going to get to see me, then I'm like, Oh yeah, like
I'll I'll do the team games. Whereas before I I might I might have just been like I'll do team or something. I don't know. It's. I think you're being too hard on it. It's like a like a Rivals football camp or like a like a Nike football camp. I like for like all the five stars out there. They go to Alabama for a week and they have a camp of football drills and Adrian Peterson shows up and it's, it's, it's like that. Well, and this is all online virtual like over 10 weeks,
right? So like, basically what they're going to do is they're. Going to house in person? Never. Mind no, no, they're they're going to get like. They're not going to some some facility and all hanging out and camping together. I'm sure a lot of it will depend on how involved the athletes, or how many athletes want to be involved and how many they end up getting as a team, mentor, mentee. But yeah, it's it sounds like it's all virtual. It's. How?
To catch up a week. It's valid and arrow low and really going to be in that like like. After the games 100%. Highly just doubt that. And it's it's from June 16th to August 18th, so that's right. Before that's. That's so they're playing. In the middle of the games. Because games, the games will be in the last, the second, the last week of that or yeah.
They are not talking this this when they OK, you know what this is they have pre recorded videos Hey guys how to do rope climbs this is what I do like I bet you like Bukowski's got his thing where you can buy it like in it's like the the professor project I think it's what it's called where he just walks you through like his movement. I guarantee they've just pre recorded stuff and that's what they're sending them with a message every single week of hey, and just be a kid, go do
sports. Like don't burn out. Like just be a kid. Like you don't want to overdo it. I guarantee you they say that about a million freaking times. For any team that. You have said that the time and that it was should have started with that. I think the whole thing is ridiculous. What I think that was and what it was, it's completely different. For any teen who who's who might be listening who wants to do this, write in that you want Taylor Self as your mentor
please. Because I I think it would be beneficial to you, but also I want that content to be out there. Kyle Landis I hope Colton signs up and makes the kids clean the barn. Here's how you're going to do it. He just makes a new free labor doing this at my house. T Bird, why don't you have Pat or Brent on to ask before you judge? That's a fair question.
I just don't think if it's in the middle of freaking game season T bird, that they're going to be super invested in mentoring children when they're trying to make a livelihood. This is their care about. This is their dreams. Belner and Fukowski, I'm talking about, right? They're not going to spend the time to freaking, like, raise these children on how to do rope clamps. No. And and these kids are already really freaking good. They're already fitter than I am. Almost all of them like.
They all have coaches like I doubt there's very many who don't have some sort of dedicated coach and and so and. And if they are invested in it, like say say they're really invested in it and it's actually like 1 to one face contact like every Sunday or something. If that is the case, then I think they need to place their priorities somewhere else because I'm not going to bank on them being good at the games.
If their priorities are investing in y'all in the middle of freaking game season, like I just, I don't see it, I don't see it and I have no idea what it is. I'm passing judgment way before I know what it is. I have no idea. That's what we're here for. First. First reactions. Yeah. No, I I think there could be some benefit to it. I think the timing of it is going to be rough, like John said, like in the middle of like
deep CrossFit Games training. And you have a couple weeks where it's not even going to matter because they're going to be traveling. They're going to be, I mean, competing on a week like Sunday. They have their standing 1:00 call. Hey, I'm a little busy. We're at the skip this week and do it next week. Yeah, from I don't. I just don't see them from the
coaching standpoint. I see it from an ongoing relationship of having somebody to look up to and talk through how to get through the challenges of competing at the highest level. I don't know if that has to happen as you're preparing for your CrossFit Games, right? Like that's a all an offseason year round type thing and maybe it'll turn into that, but Speaking of teens who have not decided to compete anymore and possibly burnt out or.
You want to talk about somebody to have a mentor that like. This she's got like 8 mentors. No, she said. This is, this is the person that needs to go to Colton's farm and just live and just and just live for a while. Not Hawaii. Just live on the barn and do Colton's chores so he could freaking get top ten in the games and he has not. He doesn't have an excuse anymore, OK? In the comments, spell Hawaii like John just said it. So if you're not, you're not
watching. You're listening on a podcast. We're talking about Mal O'Brien. She is not competing again. That's kind of what we expected. You know she's out. I don't know. I I do, We do. Do you think she'll ever come back based off of the minute and a half video that we saw? Tyler. I I I can't judge this unbiasedly because I've thought she was going to come back up till the moment that she posted
that she wasn't coming back. Yeah, you were very anti Haley Adams and very Rove Al O'Brien in the exact opposite Tyler Watkins Curse is strong. I know it's I, I, I, I I see. I think I can see in her that that it's the fire's still there. But I mean, who knows, man? Like, we don't really know what she's gone through mentally and so it's hard to know if she would come back from that. She's got all the time in the world, so I never say never.
John. Yeah, I mean, she's 19, so like, if she wants to come back, she can come back. I honestly don't care to talk about her anymore until she comes. Back I heard. If, you know, like I don't, I don't think it's news she's done. She's not doing CrossFit. I mean, I think she should do what you you said, Brian. I think she should go to high rocks and and just get as fit, endurance as she can and have fun with her life.
And then I don't have to talk about her until she decides to come back to CrossFit and then have to talk about it. And she. She needs to go talk to Christy, Erimo O'Connell and figure out how to do content with the way that she does, because the current stuff that Mel's putting out is not going to last. And Chrissy's. You know who's good at that stuff? Nick Bear. Nick Bear is very good at that stuff, You know? You know what? I'm not. I'm talking.
About BPN. Yeah, yeah, Adam Clink and Adam Clink did high rocks for a little bit. Like, he's all about that lifestyle and a monster. And like, I think, I mean he be, I get you, Christy Hermo would be cool too because she's in that life now. It's probably the better call. But that's another guy that is very good at running that's very fit. I like Clink as far as the mentor for TOO, though, because like that dude's got a good view on life.
It'd be good to to spend time with him in Texas, I guess. Yeah I I just if you go guys go watch miles latest water polluter video it is it is not good. I think the bottom We have given an award on the critics, the. Critics. Viewer comments All right, here we go. Ivana 4888 John is the best analyst in CrossFit. Cannot staff stop laughing where? Whenever he's yelling. Thank you. Thank you, Ivana. Gotina Katya, 92. She loves seeing the Colton
Picks across the board. But favorites aside, when betting on an athlete to win an open announcement, would you go by 1 results against each other in person on the same field? 2 results on open workouts or three? Just who's got more dog mentality because it's one-on-one and no one's peaking anyway. What was that? What was the the actual question? What? So what? Do you? How do you go ahead? Yeah.
Who went? And maybe we'll get into this, more of it on the open announcements, but yeah, what do you care more about? Do you remember the first one-on-one? I I don't care about the individual one-on-one. I just care about workouts that they've done that are the same. In the open quarter finals versus like say semifinals and games. Yeah, yeah. Because open and quarter finals doesn't correlate really to semi finals and semifinals doesn't correlate to the games and you can't.
Do you hear that, Brian? I I did not. Can you repeat that? Although Hopper's going to get first at his semi final because he does amazing at semi final programming. Yeah. And then Tyler is just going to be so hard on Hopper. Podium. He's going to be third place. I'm standing on that man. John, do you agree? No, I I think I don't pass judgment on who I think is going to win an open workout until I know what the movements are and
then I go by movements only. For instance, if it's a handstand push up workout, guess what? Colton's going to win. If it's like a grinding long 10 minute amrap of a bunch of bourbon box jump overs and dumbbell snatches and then pull ups like I'll probably give that to Justin. I I whatever the workout is, look at what movements are in there and then who is better at said movements doesn't really matter their fitness capabilities because they're all top of the sphere.
That's the person that's going to win. Yeah, yeah. The movements are definitely going to be a huge factor in this. I have my thoughts. I'll I'll hold off until we get to the open announcements because I do have like it is sometimes athlete dependent on that. So here we go Miss masters, athlete. How about pullovers? I can see that movement being in the open. You're on crack, Miss Masters Athlete. Yeah, not not working. In other years, maybe not this. Year No. No. Never.
That'd be a disaster. Disaster. No, there's no need for it. Bryson Del Monte Highrox isn't controversial. They're not claiming to make the fittest athletes on earth. They're not fighting a war on horrible nutrition. What CrossFit does scares big companies, and they don't want to be associated with the company that fights Sugar when they probably get a bunch of money in partnerships from Pepsi and Coke. We used to fight sugar, you said, is the key part of that.
Right. I mean that goes back to my thought on well that and then just what what brands do we want, right And I and goes back to Pedro's question on around the whiteboard. I thought about actually Speaking of sponsorships, Like, I've thought about weird ones like like what if Zen sponsored CrossFit? There's nothing. Like there's nothing weird about it. It's just nicotine. But it seems like a no no, right?
But it could have some overlap. A lot of a lot of weight lifters, power lifters and all that use in and there's technically nothing wrong with it but it. Yeah, we lose Tyler. You froze, Tyler. And he's gone. It must have been a bad take, so. He goes There's nothing wrong with it. He's out. He is, Yeah, He is gone. All right. While we wait for him to get back, let's head over to the next segment, the Top 25 Media Poll. Were you surprised by the results? Here I was. A little bit.
I'm surprised, I guess the first, top first place, Ricky Gerard on the men's side, Tia, Claire Toomey or on the women's side. I think overall my thought on the women's side is I'm surprised that nobody moved. The top ten was the exact same men's side. Would have moved it. I just figured that some like. Somebody would use their mind somewhere. Like Emma Carey did. Well, right? Water Palooza. Does she move up and go ahead of Ariel? I don't know.
I mean, like one of those types of of moves. Like, I don't think there'd be a whole lot. I think a lot of it we're pretty set on. But I mean, like, you have Migala, Raptus, Lowen, Carrie all kind of there bunched up a little bit. Will they have moved just from what we've seen on the offseason? It did change like big time on the men's and then the women's are there's nothing. Yeah, Ricky moves up. Or four spots from 5th to 1st.
Five first place votes he out. He got, what, eight more points than Roman Krenikoff? What's funny is Roman still has more first than Ricky. Yeah. Yeah, there were a couple voters that did not have Roman very high, which is interesting. I assume it's funny how that happens after one one bad showing at. Roman's probably first then and then these people are just being dumb as well is probably happening.
But as it shows I I think this is exactly what my top ten was like person for person, but is is I think. So can you look at my top ten I'm. Pretty positive I don't have it pulled up, no. It would be cool if this is just a critique, if we could get our top $0.25 back to us. I don't know if that's an option. I I could do it. It's always a stretch to get it all pulled up. I had it last last time I had it available to give you a look at it. Yeah, no big deal.
Yeah, Jason Hopper down in 10th, I think. Quan should be higher. I know he moved up three spots, but I mean that Quan. I think Quan, like, I know he's hit or miss man, but. What do you think about, like, longevity wise? Like he's starting to get into the territory of like, oh, what's his face, Just move back over to TTT, Will Morad, Will Morad? Like, we're starting to get into those years for him. He's been doing it for a long time. You don't think? No, I don't think he's that old.
He's in his upper 20s, maybe. It's just training years, very. Young when he got into. I mean he I think until we see a decline, I don't think there's anything to think about it. And he looked great at Water Palooza. Yeah. Yeah, very strong. And I I I would put him right like where? Like under Justin, Justin Medeiros. I think he should be in the Lazar, J crouched. I I agree. I totally agree. I think I put him that high. And I'd probably put him above those guys. I think I'd put him.
I I don't think I'd put him above Justin. It's hard to do that with just one bad gear by Justin, but. The bitch about Quan is his consistency year over year. She's like. I understand that, but when Quan Quan is on, he's. That's what I said do. You think we obviously keep talking about the the indoor side of things. We don't know what it's going to look like, but I feel like Quant would benefit if it does shift. Inside. To more of an inside type
competition. He's good on machines and he's not the best runner, 100 percent 100. Percent I agree. Any thoughts on Yon Koski? No. Going from 6th at the Games down to 12th, they're just. Well, he only didn't got one spot in the ranking. I think it's a consistency thing for Kowski because he's been like, I mean he got six, so why wouldn't you? And it's that he missed and he start. He like he shows that he gets
injured from time to time. So it's like I think he could get up to six, but I'm I would feel safer putting him closer to where he is. So I mean like, I think, yeah, he might be a little low, but I don't think he's super low. I know he's got 6th place, but like you scroll back up like there's people that are there that weren't there before you got Roman or not Roman, Ricky, who's there, that's a that's a
spot. And then Justin, who should be who should finish higher than what he did this last year, that's a spot. And then Hopper who we all know his top ten potential he's just the most he's probably the most inconsistent person that we've ever seen at the games as far as like what he can do and then what he ends up doing like which he I think when he got 7th place that's more what he is but he
didn't right. So but that's three spots that are all better than Kowski. What we we think should be better than Kowski and that would that would put him at 9th right As what he as what he would finish at the game. So we put him at 9th. Now it's unfair to Yonah to do that because they didn't and he got 6th place. But if we think that he should have been 9th and then we have him at 12th, it's not that big of a deal right? And Quant is one of those spots as well.
But I I do think it is a little bit unfair to Yonah. I think he's like 10th, but it's not that that far off in, in my opinion. Travis Mayer 16th Hold steady Tyler. I get it. Where did you, where did you put him in your rankings, Tyler? I think probably around 12th or something. That doesn't make sense. Tyler guaranteed 5th. I guaranteed he's going to make top five. It was like on Chase's go. It was like on.
It was like on Chase's show when we were talking about Laura winning the games and you know, and Doctor Strange just sitting there thinking like there's one, there's one route for this. I think we're on a perfect wave season. I think he's going to get 5th, but if you want to talk about top 25, yeah, I'm going to put him in. I'm like well. This is what you think is going to happen, Tyler? No, no, no, no, no. Yes, yes, yes. No, this is your prediction for
the 24 games. This is your prediction. This isn't not what anybody else going to put I. See, it's going to change. It changes all the time, though, because as we get closer, I'm going to be like, OK, we're really honed in. This is the year, and that's when he starts moving up in my polls. I don't know. I don't know how you can guarantee it. And then throw them down there in 16th. James Sprague, Jack Farlow both pop in two. Shouldn't be there anymore.
Chandler is now going to be out since he is official. He's a legacy. Legacy bugs. With Chandler. I mean, that was that. Would put Austin Hatfield back into the top 25. The they're the two first people that are out should be 19th and 20th place, and the fact that they are not me. G and Spencer. No, the two that are not that like the first two out should be 19th and 20th I. Won't Argue and Bill Leahy. I won't argue with you about Bill because we really haven't seen him because ever it
crashed. What I will push back. So what did you what would you say about Austin from Water Palooza that makes you think he should be in the top 20? Austin hat if he hits that snatch but she got kind of F by the judges. He would have been like 7th place and a five event and a five event like competition or swimming. He was going to be trash and then they changed one of the events that he would have been very good at to something that he wasn't very good at.
And like if you that's. I mean that's it. That's really my only argument. I think the more events there are, the better he will do. He does not. His holes are going to be similar to what Colton's holes are, OK and at what? And they finished pretty darn close to each other. I know Colton beat him right? Like Colton was ahead right by two points. Yeah, yeah. Didn't he? Didn't he barely beat him? Or was he? Was he comfortably? Ahead of him.
They were right there. No, they were right there. Colton and Alton. Right there. So, so like what Austin Hatfield is going to be bad at is similar to what Colton is going to be bad at. And then Colton's home run hits where he's the best in the world at and can kill everybody. Austin Hatfield is not as good as Colton, but he's going to be the next level down from like that. You see what I'm saying?
He's got the the lower extreme of the highs and the upper extreme of the lows of Colton Merton's. That is Austin Hatfield. So you're saying, but can Austin be have a higher ceiling than than Colton? I think so just because of his lifting because like he can snatch 300 and he can clean and jerk 375 like and and that's home run hits that Colton currently does not have.
So if he gets like second or third in the events that Colton gets first in, but then he gets second and third in the events that like he gets first in what like like if Colton got second or third in every lifting event he ever did he'd be top ten perennial. Yeah, that's Austin Hatfield. And then like, right now that's awesome. Hatfield. And what I'm saying is we don't like he's only going to get better. He hasn't been doing it very long.
The and that's the reason I would push against you and cast him not very far beyond the top 20 but just outside of the top 20 is because he needs more exposure, He needs time. I think what I absorbed from him was just. Tell me what I have said. The thrill of competition. Colton, tell me what I have said that's wrong. It's Colton in the yeah, it's just that he needs, he needs more exposure and that's the only reason I would put Austin outside the top 25 or 20, sorry, top 20.
And for the record, I'm not saying he's going to beat you, Colton. I'm just saying don't. Start apologizing now. No, no, no, I. Haven't I haven't said that. I said it should be 19th and 20th and Bill Leahy should be 20th. You like? I I think it's more about the higher ceiling. It's the higher ceiling question, the belief. Colton just shows up and starts making you shake. I asked you to tell me. Where I was wrong? How am I shaking? You start? Apologizing.
Damn, he's going. To be shaking in a minute, the belief that Hitler has in Leahy. I have that same belief in Hatfield all right now, and we just have to see what happens. But Leahy is like, he's really, really good too. Leahy's like a hidden gem that people are like, why are you guys so high on Leahy? He's done nothing. That's 'cause we know he could do some things that are the best in the world, and he just hasn't gotten to show it yet. Don't go basketball. You're #1.
No, it's not that. And for the for the record, same thing with Colton. I was screaming Colton Mertens before he even came on to the sea and I was saying guys, he's the best in the world at 5 different things. He's the best in the world and nobody wanted to buy it until he was there. Now just believe me when I say hat feels the same thing. Mr. Young, 49, thank you. Colton has more dog in him. I won't deny that, but we'll see
what we'll see in the games. Women's side Tia Claire Toomey racks up 13 of the 17 first place votes. Laura Horvath and Emma Lawson each get two, and then Alex Gazan, Gabby Magala, Alexis Raptis, Ariel Lowen, Emma Carrie, Danielle Brandon and Katrin, David's daughter round out the top 10. Man, these are flat. No change at all, huh? Which, I mean, where would you change it? O'Brien said. Him and Carrie. But I have not added that he's
got Bunny rabbits, man. Like, I know your Wiener dogs are there, but I mean, he's coming. I'm telling you, I think y'all would get along, right? He's a Bunny breeder versus the Wiener. I will lie, you might have him, you might have him on intelligence, but maybe that's just his accent talking. Because I know Speaking of Cole's a very smart guy, but I think y'all get along. You hear that, Colton? He's insulting your intelligence. Jeez, John. I said it the other way around.
You're. The one who brought it up, dude. Yes, Speaking of Colton, if you guys, I don't know if there's any left, but go over to Paper Street Coffee. They have a limited run of Colton's Light Roast Hank coffee Bean. And then you also get a Colton Merton's T-shirt, So. I've had a few. They sell a Tyler. Yeah. And I I didn't know about it. And I've had several people ask me, is this you? Oh. My God, I don't think so. Only if you were in the Fight Club movie. That's it, right?
That's an open announcement I'd like to see Is Hatfield versus Colton. Quit messing around with freaking Justin Maderos. Nobody cares. Hatfield should go down to down to Charlotte. I went to the barn. No, I think Hatfield should go to the Colton's barn and do open announcement 24 point. Three. I'm waiting for Shannon to jump in here. All right, women's side, any any surprises on the top 10? No. Haley Adams moves up one to 11th, right above Paige Powers.
But I have no problem with her being there. She's just a big question mark. It sounds like after Hiller was there, he's impressed. I mean, where she was two years ago. I mean, does it, is it hard to stay to get back to that level and then take 11th versus what, 7th? No Colt Mertens. I'll be in Nashville week one. This is an official call out to Hatfield. Come, Amy. Oh, and and for people in the comments, you're probably right. A lot of people care about Justin.
I'm just speaking biasedly. I don't. I don't. So. John's mom, Miss Shelly M Colton's going to be top ten this year. It. Highly depends on the events, but we'll see, We'll see. Moving on the list, Amanda Barnhart moves up four spots to 17th. Is that a 7? Is it a 7 on boost do? You think that that that definitely feels like it. I think so. Amanda was on Von's podcast. What, two weeks ago? Week and a half ago? Yeah, right when we were doing this voting and. Tugging all the heartstrings.
Yet at the same time, her shoulder is not doing so high. It's fine. Yeah. Again, I think she'll be fine getting to quarter finals, quarter finals, Top 40. We'll see that one. That one could be tough. Jamie Latimer. That shoulder has me worried. Yes, she won't. Be. Open and then we have any Thor's daughter. I don't know what some people were thinking, but she moved up and left her in the rankings. She's. Pregnant, still tugging on the heart. She's very pregnant.
And will not be competing. Jamie Simmons is going team so that we have two on the women's side as well that will be popping out. Emma McQuaid and Man and Anganees would then take their spots. Mal O'Brien still in the receiving votes. Well, we voted. We voted before she made her announcement, so. Writing on the wall guys. Oh, Keith said. She wasn't competing like 3 months ago. Yeah, yeah. Well it was a non answer, but it kind of answered a lot of
questions. I hope she does That week one of the Open, she signs up and submits a score. Please, Yeah. I know. No, listen, Mal O'Brien would dominate the Open like, just like the open is made for Mal O'Brien. It would be funny. Then again, I'd be very annoyed because if she gets first place in the open, everybody's going to want to know what do you make of the nothing? She'd. Be the same. It was just the pressure. She relieved all the pressure. It's. Not anything.
It's just the workouts are made for her. In the open it means nothing. Right. OK. That was the top 25 media poll for February right before the CrossFit Open starts. We will be updating that monthly going forward as we have more competitions. Head over to the Barbell spin slash top 25. You can take a look at those rankings. Moving on, open announcements today. This morning, Tia Claire Toomey, Ariel Lowen will be competing in Nashville at the new proven
headquarters. Are you guys surprised? Once again, on the same day as our show. I don't believe in coincidences. I'm not surprised after I predict or after I screwed up my who I thought was going last night and I fixed it and said I think Ariel's going to go. And then, sure enough, here we are. Yeah, I know we all wanted to see Laura. I think we'll have to wait for the games to get that match up. So up until really this week, really knew we knew the match
ups. We didn't know the first week where it was. I did some digging, looked at a schedule, found out it is at CrossFit. Pleasanton also helped that area or that Alexis Raptus shared that she was going to Pleasanton CA, which is very nice of her. Thanks, Alexis. Yeah, and then of. Course, thank you. Where? Where where is the open? And we went, I don't know. I'm just going to be in Pleasanton. I don't know where. It's at yeah. That's what she should have said.
That's where I'm going to be. Who knows where it's at? I'll just. I'll just go be in Pleasanton, CA. I don't. Know and and then you got Justin Medeiros who shared the location on his podcast. Was given the OK, it sounds
like. What do you make of the locations not being announced and then coming from 1, Alexis kind of accidentally spilling the beans and then me doing the research to make sure it's the truth and then Justin sharing it on his podcast versus CrossFit making the announcement? I got something, John. So if you watched Rich's podcast today where they talked about media getting taken out of of the games, essentially are making, it's going to be very
difficult for media to be there. And so they're not really wanting to cooperate with outside media. But then you allow athletes who have their own channels and you know, Alexis is a sort of a weird situation because it seems like they let that go on accident, but then you use outside media to promote your own thing. It's got a weird optic, doesn't it? Yeah, yeah. It's, I don't get it. Like why are we hiding where it is?
And then today they announced proven, which I think everybody would have guessed with Tia coming. Yeah, there and everybody there, John. I'm not a big fan of your question or or or. You, your choice. You have something else that you're talking about the opening. Something I wanted to bring to light I I I don't care if they don't announce the location. The location doesn't really matter that much to me, them to announce it.
The location matters to me. Just them announcing it or if we didn't know until the day of I I don't really care. I care about the people who are doing it and then the workout and I. Would agree. I would agree with you, but it's weird that the way they went about it. Does that not strike you as strange? Sure, but who cares like like that? Like I mean like maybe y'all care, but like like that's my. Given that we pontificate on crossing it. Is constantly.
It doesn't. It doesn't matter to me. I mean, it was great for me, right? Like I was able to break really getting in front of for. You. It's news getting to that. Superficial news first. That's you. And like, I know people watch the Justin video, but I, you know, there's a lot of less retention. And by the time I got to the very end of it, I don't know how many people are actually watching it, right?
And so there were a lot of people that didn't know about it. So it definitely brought a lot of traffic to me. I'm very thankful for CrossFit by not doing it. They can do it. They can just tell me going forward. But it was just a very odd that they wouldn't share that, right? Like, it doesn't bother me. It's just odd that they wouldn't do it. Larry Young, 499 Betting with the boys Will we see a weight in a workout 225 lbs or more in an
open? Yes. I'm going to say no. No, I think it could go either way. I think that betting line is 5050. Well, it depends on what it is too, right? Like if it's snatched, it's deadlift need to. Right. If it's programmed, I think it will be programmed. Like a ladder type thing that goes above it. Most people probably won't see it. It could be. I hope so. John definitely wants one, yeah. I just don't think. I just don't think it will be, but I wanted to.
I wanted to wanted to say though what I want. What I wanted to say though, I do not like where they the open locations are. I think it's pretty BS that some of these people get home field advantage. Like I would rather like just pick like the first one is fine, but like for to go into Justin's garage or to go into Tia's proven gym. Like I don't. I just don't like it. I don't like having this person has to come to you because you're so high and mighty.
We don't want you to move. Or maybe you wouldn't do it if you had to move. I just, I don't like home field advantage when it comes to these things. Fly them all out to HQ or fly them out or go to a random location in the middle. Like it? Whichever, I just don't like. I don't like home field Advantage to a workout in a CrossFit Open announcement.
Maybe I'm, maybe I'm maybe that's stupid, but, like, I just don't like it. Spin what's the benefit of doing it at proven I mean like I've I've thought a lot about that I. I mean, when when I heard Proven was trying to open early this year, my initial thought was that's where they want to have they're, they were going to do something for the open. I mean, Proven is an affiliate or they're going to be an affiliate at some point. I don't know if they're
officially one yet or not. I mean, I've not been to the facility yet. I've tried to go, but things have just haven't gotten there. I plan on being there for 2024.3. I mean, it does look like the facility's top notch, right? Like if you're training there as an elite athlete, there, there are spaces probably the best out there. So I think it's probably the showcase that their top woman in the game has an affiliate. I get it. I get it.
But. I just don't like what's the return for CrossFit for doing that. Like you could go a bunch of, you could go to the top affiliate in the United States and do it or something like that that's. Pretty much what they did last year, right? They went to Bison and a few others. I I don't know why Pleasanton. I don't have anything against them. It just seemed that seemed like an odd tip to me. It's a. Pleasant gym. Is it very pleasant? I I yeah, it shocked me.
That's why I was kind of nervous to to share that news until I needed. I got full confirmation on it because I had never heard of it. I believe the the the owner's been around for a while, but that doesn't always guarantee you a an open announcement. But you don't know if you guys saw this. Oh, sorry. Go ahead. Brian Zach Davis. I love Hal Morning. Chalk up. Maybe Barbend. I don't know what they are anymore. Had Toomey's advantages in the open against Ariel as everything.
I thought that was interesting. Yeah, Yep. I don't know what. To I don't know, I don't disagree. And we'll pull this one back up. Alyssa, do you think? CrossFit asked Tia to do an open announcement, and she said only if you come to my gym. I I. I don't think so. I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I think they said we will come to your gym. Do you want to do it? Or, you know, if we come to your gym, will you do it? Yeah, she's the expensive part of that. Right.
And maybe and maybe maybe y'all are right, but like and like I almost. I don't think she would travel for it, right? Like I don't. Think, she would say. But she, I don't think she forced them or you know Strong armed him. I think it was more of hey, would you do it if we do come to to Proven. Right, they better halfway. That's not meeting you halfway. That's just you getting what you want. And then do an open workout. Like that. Does it matter though?
I think it does. It means to me and I and and like so the thing you asked before the thing you asked. Before location doesn't matter to me, but this matters to me, no? No, no, no, no. The time, the time of the announcement or how they did it like that? Matters. Doesn't matters to you. Y'all found that weird. You're like, why do you do that? I don't care about that at all. Like, let them do what they want, but you don't care about
this. Like, why does it matter that that like it it it matters to me? I don't think. I think home field advantage is unfair to aerial lowing. And I I 100% think that they were like, hey Tia, will you do an open announcement? And then she goes, could we do it at Proven? We have this new facility, It would be awesome. We could showcase everything and they're like, yeah girl, we'll do it at Proven like that's exactly how that conversation
went. It's not, it's not that Tia was like all high and mighty, but it's just the fact that we're given this. It's just, I think it's unfair to whoever she's going against. I don't know. I don't think that conversation happened with with Justin. Because Justin was over the moon, thrilled that it was going to be happening at his garage like his. Like it almost looked like disbelief that they were going to do that. I don't think Justin was like
and again, I I know nothing. So like before, people like take stuff and run away with it. I know nothing. But I don't think Justin was like only if you do it in my garage, make Colton. Come to me. I don't think either was. I think. I think CrossFit looked at it and said there's some interest in what what Justin has with his shred shed, and then obviously the proven gym is one-of-a-kind hot. Topic, yeah. So Marn is one-of-a-kind. I don't. It's not OSHA approved.
Can you imagine Justin and Colton doing lunges or cleans or whatever, and then a whole litter of Wiener dogs just running around? Are you kidding me? That would be very good. I don't know. Speaking of I'm. Back with well, I have a dog. I don't care. Not a Wiener dog, Not 18 Wiener dogs. Speaking of Justin Maderos in his his show, I want to one one last topic before we move on.
Let's see, here we go. Justin Maderos on his latest podcast he was on. They just kind of walked through and gave their predictions and then Justin said this. OK well I messed up earlier. There's all right. Sorry. We had, we had. We had to cut a part out real quick. I I, I said something I was supposed.
To say said that the. I didn't think that one of the open announces would be in. Or we would be doing it in Week 2 because there's lunges in it and you need bigger space and we are doing 24.2 in the shred shed. It's going to be freaking insane. Like, I am so freaking excited. I've kept the secret. Yeah. Do. The thing So. Did we not get the part where he talked about lunges? So he No. So that's the one he cut out. OK. Right. And so Sivan brought it up in
his news. I was like, I don't know. I'm, I'm skeptical. There's got to be some extra context we're missing. I'll go back and watch it. And then they, they, they're going through the predictions. Ellie goes through it. And then all of a sudden it cuts. And then you can see that part where they're laughing right there in the middle and they're like, oh, I said something I shouldn't have. And then you skip forward another, you know, to the very
end and then they share that. You know, they were referencing something he talked about 30 minutes ago that they cut, ended up cutting out and said, well, you know, there's lunges. And like, I don't know. Like, he knows that it was at his gym and he's going to predict that there's lunges. We got to wait. Right. Like it doesn't make sense to me, like there's something else going on, right? Like if he's going to say. Well, what do you mean? How could that? How could there? Be some what?
What? What are the other possibilities? If he wasn't there and he said I think there's going to be, I don't think there could be lunges in 24.2, but he said like there are going to be lunges in 24.2, right? Like, is he referring to it like? And then why? Have to cut. Is he trying to throw it out like? Well, I have to cut it if it's not something that you knew. Right. And if it was that, it was spoiling that where it was.
This is not live right like, so if he just spoiled that it was in his gym, they could just announce and inhabit that section, not at the very end like it was in the middle of it. So. Well, you know what's going to happen then is that they told Justin the workout and then he spoiled it. And then Castro has to do an audible and 24.2 will now be bench and burpees over the bench press. All roads lead to bench press.
Yeah, I we'll see. If 24.2 has lunges in it, then we need to absolutely bring this back up and then we need to have Dave on and be like can you explain this good stuff? Yeah, Yeah. We will have Dave on 100%. He's, He's. Maybe we have like. And I just think, hey, hey, the right time, I'll bring you on, but. Would you quit emailing me? It's getting a little. It's getting a little bunch. No. How'd you get this e-mail? Here. Here's how we'll do it.
I think we should have Sevon on and then just have Sevon call him without him knowing he's on the podcast. Yeah, does that won't remove what? Happened. Did Justin ruin the workout just on a phone call with Sevon? OK, he just. Hangs up. That's what happens. Yeah. So I don't know. I mean, if we see lunges, then it's going to be a complete shipstorm. If we don't, I don't. Yeah, it was. Just maybe, Justin, it was.
A Nothing burger. Well, immediately what we're going to do is we're going to think about what the workout would have been like. Yeah, what was it? What was it before we changed? It. We see bench press, we'll know we. See, we see just 10 dumbbell squats. It was like these were these were supposed to be alternating lunges. That piece. Here. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, exactly. All right, it's Time Boys. Blind rankings. This time we're going to stick with the open format where I'm up.
Hang on, give me a second. I got it. I'm bummed our prop hasn't showed up yet, but we won't spoil that yet. Hopefully I'm working on it. That'll be. That'll be cool. If we do get it, Here we go open things. Open things. Legs #1. This is. Open I got Brian, I got Brian, I. Didn't think that, man. You got me, you got me. This is anything you're going to rank stuff that is associated with the CrossFit Open. OK. So it could be anything that's with the open rank what you see fit so.
This is terrible. It's just going to be so I I. Have no idea what this is. Just go ahead. Just go ahead. I think you'll. I think you'll get it once you see the first one. All right. Flying Rankings, Open Things and Friday Night Lights. That's a too for me. But I have nostalgia for Friday Night Lights. No, I no, I agree this is high. Do you think, do you think like the open announcement is on here, like is that part of you think that'd? Be it could be, it could be.
That's what I'm that's definitely almost for Friday night Light. Yeah, yeah. But yeah, I'm I'm good with two Friday night. I'm good with two. That's like some of my favorite memories of CrossFit is because because of Friday Night Lights. I'm going to say two, yeah. It's not the TV show, Nick. It. I we all finished the Open and go watch the TV show. Fantastic. Way better than the movie Biased. No disagreed of movies. I've cried to Friday Night
Lights is one of them. I I know I'm in the minority with that. OK, I think the show was better than the movie. I've never watched the show, so I can't. Well, you have no idea then. I've not watched the the TV show either, but the movie was good. I didn't. I don't think I cried but anything. With Billy Bob in it. Lynn and Jerry Friday Night Lights for New Cross Fitters. What do you mean? What's the question here is? That a question or a or a statement.
Have you Never. Oh, so if you've not, if you've been involved in CrossFit since probably about 2019, you may have not had a Friday Night Lights if your gym got spoiled after after 2018 open or the The Weird Fall Open. Yeah. Can I go ahead? So like Friday Night Lights, like it was like the entire community was like, we're doing this because it worked so well for every gym. I mean like across at Maximus, we had it catered. There was like 300 people there
at any one time. Everybody you go in heats. Now it was always terrible because you were like, I'm like the the 3rd or 4th heat and you got to sit there and be anxious for two hours. And it was also terrible if there were long workouts. But, like, it was just the magnetism of all these people cheering each other on at CrossFit. It's it is the purest version of what CrossFit is and should be. It's Friday. I agree 100%. Your whole gym comes out to
support everybody. It's not just the the Super fit people at your gym, it's it's somebody getting their first Toto bar right. It's it's somebody getting like their like somebody who can't do double unders and is just going to try their best to get a couple. Like, it's experiencing things. Like doing stuff because you have to do the workout right. You can't just scale it like a
normal class. And it's being able to do things that you didn't think you could do with the whole entire community cheering you on. Watching people who've been training all year just to get a pull up or a muscle up and then finally breakthrough and get it or fail. That like that's where. And it fires you up for next year too. Yes, like you'd be like, I'm going to get that muscle up next. Year. This is a bit of a tangent, but this is where I struggle with the the scaled option.
Yeah, 'cause you're not on the same, you're not on the same feet. Because there were so many people who did get their first muscle up because they just had, they just got there and they tried and they may have had 15 minutes to go get it, but they tried versus scaling and they're doing pull ups instead and they don't, they don't put themselves out there in front of that crowd and they don't get that opportunity. You have to give.
Yourself, the opportunity. What I'll say though is like it does create a goal to be like, OK, I just want to RX all the workouts because I know a lot of people with that goal. I want to RX the Open and I do think the Open is good at, you know, making bar muscle UPS, ring muscle UPS at the end of the workout, right, Like like the like this last year 23.1, everybody's like, oh, we got ring muscle UPS at the end of it. Like, don't worry about it.
You're not going to get there. You have to be really, really, really fit. Together, right. Yeah. Right. So like in. Most. And if you do get there, you're probably not going to. Have you're going to feel like shit you're. Going to have like 2 minutes to do one, right? So, but but I'm saying it's it's great for so many different
reasons. What I would say to those people actually, John, this is a good compromise, is that if your gym has Friday Night Lights and you're going to do scaled at Friday Night Lights, do the RX workout and then give you and then do the scale later, you're not going to be beat up enough. If you're if you're scared of the workout, you're not going to be beat up enough for it to matter anyway and just give yourself the opportunity to get exposed and maybe have a
breakthrough moment though. That's that's the power of the open. And the gated workouts are really good for that too, where it's like you have to do this amount of work in 4 minutes, this amount of work in 8 minutes like, oh you're only going to have a a 4 minute workout because you're not good at toasted bar or whatever. Still do that 4 minutes, get whatever score you get and then wait 10 minutes and do the scaled version. Like it's not like like it's a good warm up for the scaled
version you. Know you may, you may string together 2 toes the bar that you never have done in the past because you've gotten 4 minutes to try it. So I I 100% agree with that. All right, next one, the live announcement shows. That's a hard #1. I think that's a number one man. I'm with you. And it's. Can you think of anything better? Like the only reason that would get discounted is because of years, recent years. I mean, we're living off the 2000, I I agree.
But it's like we're living off the 2015, like when the Open was like this freaking. Castro's invested. You heard him first. He's in it. He didn't want to be, but now he's in it. And the way he's talking ain't no way he ain't doing these announcements. He No, he he hinted that there were other two There were two other people who were going to or there was someone else going to do the next ones. He that he wasn't going to do all three.
Am I wrong about that spin? Yeah, his last week in review he said he was going to do the first one, then he's going to potentially. It sounded like he was going to have two different outside of CrossFit people. And Hiller. Outside of CrossFit. Or sev on and chase. I would like that Sev on and chase. Can you imagine Savon doing an open announcement? I feel like he would misread. He would say the workout wrong. That doesn't matter. We're not doing this anyway. 10 minutes of assault bike.
At 20 RPM. All right, #3 getting APR that's. 3. OK. Yeah. Three getting, getting or watching. Somebody get APR. Yeah. I'm saying three. Yeah, I'm that's fine. You guys have put yourself in a corner here. Yeah, I know we have. We have. Well, I don't care. Tyson Beijing is a guest for a You don't think so? Tyson with his dad, though. The arm wrestler, here we go, getting into the pain cave. 5. I mean I feel like you should do this in almost all like all of your non all of your workout
pieces. It's it's not not your not your practice or training, but like if you're doing a workout a metcon. I feel like you should be there all the time. Yes, but it's different in the open, man. There's no pain cave like, well, there are, but you know. You don't. You don't train hard enough if it's like if there's nothing like the open. Well see, I'm a game. I'm a game day athlete and it's like when when people are watching I'll hurt myself, but like when no one's watching,
it's just different. I don't get to the same level. So for me, it's like I I like the pain cave, but I hate the pain cave. I I think the more you hurt yourself, the more like accustomed you are to do. I, I, I It's the same for me. It's like any other workout so I'll I'll wait. We haven't agreed on it. I I'm fine with five. Yeah. Your least favorite part of the Open? I it's it's just a part of it. Yeah, it's a part of it. Here we go. Here we go. Castro's hints. That's a good four.
No, I. Shouldn't like it? So, so dumb. Every year I'm like, I'm, I don't care, These are stupid. And then here I am later reading The Grapes of Wrath, trying to find. Out what we're. Talking about so dumb, so dumb, I think that are the most retarded thing about the open. I like but the one where it's like the the weird. Machine went back and forth. I was like, oh, I know, I know this one for sure and I was totally wrong.
Tell you did you if you watched this week in review, this week, he said he was planning on putting out a hint good that he was unsure if it would be too obvious. He's full of shit. It's going to be so esoteric we'll never understand it. I hope it's a bench press. It's just some dude bench pressing. All John wants is a bench press. Well, there you go. I think we think it. I think we did good. This is good. Yeah, that's fine. I think we're getting better at it.
We have not been a bad one in a while. You're. Making a first one as a absolute well, I really expect you guys, first one's rough, first three to be all top three. Well, they're all good. Would you? Would you have put one somewhere else? I thought maybe the live announcement you would but lower thinking there was something else going out. Right. Right. Especially after Friday Night Lights like OK, I don't want to put in 1-2 and then a one.
John saved us with with saying the announcement, yeah. Like you could if you guys, you could have been really screwed if you had put some in the middle there. Most of these, most of these things are like once you see the first one, when you kind of know what it is, right? And then you just think, is there something better? Because if it is the best thing, it's probably on them. Yeah, right. You know what I mean? Most of the time, yeah, most of the time.
All right. And the last segment, we're back with Bettin with the boys. This one is a little bit different. Tyler, do you want to? Yeah, I'm this one off. I'm stoked about this. We've been working on this since hell I before, like around the games or something like that. I started thinking about this idea. So do you have a? Do you want to pull it up? Do you? Want me to pull up the website or do you want me to pull up? The web or either one doesn't matter.
Yeah, there you go. So we're going to introduce the Heat One open Bracket challenge. If you guys can go through it, works just like the NCAA March Madness bracket and fill out who you think's going to win for each Open matched up just on that workout. As they pass through. You'll you'll do the next match up in the next and and fill out your bracket every week. We'll cover what's going on and and who we think's going to win in those matchups and we'll see
what happens. I promise you, I've done this a bunch of different iterations. The people who win are not who you think. The other part of this should I announce it now or or wait till the end? I. I don't know what. I don't know what you're going to. Say about the app, so you'll be able to play along in the app. It'll work a little differently, but you'll be able to pick the same match up. So fill it out here, get yourself prepped and then put your picks in the app, so the.
The link is down below. Heat one dot app slash bracket. Yes, is that right? So yeah, it's in the in the description down below. You can check that out. Go to our website, print it out. It's right there for you to print it out, and then the app will be out. The updated version of the app will be out in the next few hours. It's already ready for Android, but you can go ahead and be prepped for Apple as well. Is there a winner? I do as a winner, get anything.
For the bracket, no. But for the for the app, yes, we'll, we'll announce. Prizes in the app. So the app is going to be a little bit different. You'll do it each week, right? So you'll. Get each week and. Then if you miss them, you'll get another shot at. Yeah, yeah, if you if your don't make it through, it doesn't matter. We're going to, we're going to set the actual matchups in the app. Hey. Guys, I got to feed my dogs really quick.
Can you can you take dog wait, wait, wait to do anything? But they're just crying. I like, go get to where we're going, getting and then just don't do anything without him. You got it. Mr. Ortega Tyler's asking permission to release his own app he owns. I don't own it completely. Yeah, let's see. Any other comments up here that are any good? The other thing I'll say is that, oh, I forgot I I I blank. Go ahead. So yeah, this for Button Benton
with the boys this week. We are going to do the entire bracket, so not going to do one. We're going to see. We're going to see how well we can do blind, not knowing the workouts and then having to double. Are are we going to do this based on based on democracy? No, we got one for each of us, so. Oh, we get our own picks I like. This. It's betting. We got to see how good we are. We're. Going to see who can pick the best bracket. Completely unknown. All you know is you have three weeks.
Real quick question for you. If we have A A 24 point something, A and AB, Oh yeah, so. The way we'll do that is overall we'll we'll take the points that they made on those workouts. Whoever has the last points takes that win on the on the cumulative total of both. Got it. And how did you come up with the pairings? So we this was back and forth forever. We started with the games and then we started thinking about, well, Tia's back.
And then we started thinking, well, Chandler's going to pull out. We sort of knew that ahead of time. And then we we also thought about other matchups that me we might want to see. So it's a little bit of heat one's own take on on who we want you to watch and who we want you to see. So yeah. Bernie Spin used to be the maestro. Now I want to check with that dude Seth for his picks. I think you mean Joe Dirt or Kid Rock. Tell me this, how has A bracket
not existed up to this point? Like has How has no one tried this? That's what's befuddled me. I don't think anybody has had an app to be able to do it right. Like how do you need? An app to be able to like. 'Cause it's like it's the make a bracket sure to make a piece of paper. I don't know. By the way, fill yours out and post it to Instagram and tag us and we'll repost. Yeah, that'd be good. All right, John, we're going to go through now.
We're going to make our picks, each of us, and then we'll I'll be filling it out as we go, so. Question. Question. Yeah, what is the deadline? Deadlines, I guess by the start of the three. G1 Deadline for the first. Yeah, which deadlines? And you have to do your whole bracket. You can't, yeah. Yeah, for us, for sure. Yeah, for people who are playing. We're doing tonight. No. No, I I understand. But I'm saying like if you're going to fill one out later on, like you can't wait.
So you can't wait until 24.2 to make your decision. You have to fill out the whole thing until fill. Out the whole thing now. Without knowing the workouts. You're not going to have fun if you don't fill it all out. Now I want to see if anybody can get them all right. Yeah, I do too. Without knowing the workouts this. You don't know the workouts. That's rough, man. Running this right now is you're It's so thin. Every time I did it, I test.
I would go back years and like set up a bracket and fill it out and I would still be wrong. Yeah, yeah. I think you. I think we go back to last year and I think, yeah, you weren't the. Best at it without knowing the workout. I I hate doing things without knowing without. I know, that's why I love it. Because you could just get scourge just by the workout, but it's OK. All right. It's your app, Tyler. That means you're on the spot. We'll go through one at a time.
We'll work our way through and then we'll keep going. So the first one is Jeff Adler versus Jay Crouch. I. I think the obvious choice here is Jeff and that's who I picked. But I will note that I have built him a a calculator since John hates that and the matchups. So I went back and I pulled the last three opens. Yeah, the spreadsheet says I went back and pulled the last three opens and I matched Jay versus Jeff and what do you think their their split was?
Thanks John, it was 5445 Adler percent wins. They're basically off by 1, which I thought was crazy. Jay is really good at the Open. How did you, how do, how did you work the calculator? Just one to one. Like I I match their scores against each other. Yeah, it's exactly how this would work. Like times. Yeah, times. Yeah. Yeah, Who? Who would have won all the 9 workouts or whatever it was that they and? Then you did it percent together with it. Yeah, just the this many, this
many wins versus. I think if you did the calculator, most people would be like that. Not, not as much as you think I've seen as much as 8020, yeah. OK. John. Adler. Even though he's going to be going first. He'll. You think he'll redo? I didn't think about that. That is a great, great point. Hold on, hold on. See. There you go. I'm going with Crouch because now there's. Going first, I'm going to go with Crouch, then yeah. Oh, you're switching, huh? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You bet. That's the one Open. He won the open. That's the one. Mole again. You get John. Well, I didn't think about that, man. That's that's a pull. Yeah, it's a tough one, especially if they load their weights wrong, do you think Do? You think Jeff, do you think Jeff would redo it? Not now, no. What if he wants? Unless he wants? He wants to win the bracket. No, the Open. Let's see. That's what I want. I want he wants so big that
people think about the bracket. You got to, you got to make a prize for people wanting to win. I know. We'll get there do. You think Adler will would would redo a workout. Top 25% man. Like if he beats Bukowski. Kowski's not hard to beat in the open. He puts out a good, he puts out a good score, he finishes 100th in the world. Do you think he would even redo it to? Try to. I'm changing my mind. I'm going to go with Adler. Go with Adler. I'm going with Adler. You OK? Don't. Do that.
Again, I'm going to go with. Adler, I'm going to. Go with Adler I. I Text I. Can't not do it, Jeff. Spitter. I just. I just. I can't. I hate not knowing the workouts. I thought about rearranging so that Brent and Jeff were matched up the first week they they probably should be, but I was like, hey, I tried to get. You on the women's side, but? It was. It was a little too late, but. Adam was a wizard. He is a wizard.
But I text Brent and I was like, hey, we might match you and Jeff Adler up. If you could go ahead and win that, that'd be cool. And he said I'm not even going to start the workout. All right. We're going to, we're going to go this time, John, you go first Roman versus Fykowski. Which is for 24.1. Yeah, this is. The first week spinner. You not feeling yours? Oh, you did? Yeah, I picked, I picked Crouch. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sorry. Yeah. I am not going with Brent. I think he is while he will try hard in week one out there at Cross at Pleasanton. You think it'll go back home and be like, all right, that's enough of that. Yeah, I'm going to, I'm going to go redo it and kind of sandbag this thing and put it in just kind of, you know, put a different. Score in Tyler. I'm I'm going to look at. I'm going to consult with the calculator real quick. Come. On. Just for shits and giggles, John, of 12/11 workouts, how
many you think? You're putting Roman, aren't you 80%? Out of 11 workouts. Yeah, 11 workouts. How many do you think? 80. Roman is 1. 8081 percent 83. Percent. 63%, It's seven to four for Roman. I'm surprised. Yeah, 2021 helped. Helped Brent a little bit. Oh, OK. Yeah, that makes sense. All right. And you picked Roman. All right, I'm up now. Ricky versus Dallin Pepper. Dallin. I'm going. You're your last there, John. I'm going with Ricky all day long, Tyler.
I'm going with Dallin Allen has won 71% of the last, I guess two opens since Ricky was out for one. I think some people just care more than others in the open. I I I'm not a big fan of betting on the open because of that fact. Because. What people are People push harder in the open. More yeah and and like if you're out of the running to win it, then it it just does not matter at all to them.
Ricky's a hard one. See again, I I'm still sticking by my prediction that 24.1 is going to be fight gone bad, so I have a little bit of that through my lens. Which week is Dallin? Sorry, go ahead, finish. Which one is 24.1 Taylor Taylor Worlds for Dallin Week 2, right? Week 2, so Ricky will have that. On Isn't it Ricky? It's Jason Week 1, Dallin Week two, and then Colton Week 3. You should put Taylor in here. We have a different set up.
So for those who are watching, if you go to the Heat one app, you will be able to pick Taylor versus whoever he is facing off with in Taylor versus the world. Dude, you know what would be real fun Is if you set up the same bracket but analyst and then like and like like 7 would be like an eighth seed. Right A1 sided bracket I like. That you know what I mean. They. Are we're going to pick Jr. Taylor John Jr. Is going to win. I think Taylor would be #1. Taylor would be one Jr. #2.
Jr. would be #2. Is there a masters division for this 7:00 on? Nine need to be. It doesn't matter. Bill's going to spank us all. Anyway, no, I I can beat Bill I if there's handstand, push ups, anything, I can beat Hitler. But. But. You better watch it, John. Hitler will beat me in most things we're. Going to set this bracket up. I'd say Hitler would be.
I'd say Hitler would be 3, then I'd be 4, and then Bill would probably be 5 and then you you would be 6. I think Tyler's better than Chase now. I think now, yeah, for sure. Gymnastics. He's just not a. Yeah, he's, he's also been injured for. Me and Sivan will be hanging down there at the bottom. And then and then. It beats when. Wait, are we are we missing anybody, Pedro? Will Pedro. Pedro. I can take Pedro. I can take Pedro. I think so too.
I think so too. You want to put Brian in there, the other one? I think Brian's are pretty close. I say you two are very close, yeah. I like you fitness wise, I think for especially for the open. I think it depends on the movement, but. So you picked Ricky or Dallin? You picked Allen I. I picked it down. Yeah, I think so. Clean Sweep, we all picked Allen. Rick and Sousa would be. No, I picked Ricky. You picked Ricky? Why? He think 'cause? I think he has something to prove this year.
I don't think he cares. Like prove it in the games. I like that, I I agree. But I think he's just wants to win everything right now. We'll see. Let's see. Back to you, Tyler. Patrick Velner versus Yonikoski. Shit, I keep telling myself to pull this up earlier. Pat versus Yonah. And the spreadsheet says and the survey says. Yonah. Yonah by one event.
Is that who you're going with? That's who I'm going with is Yonah. I think, especially for Week 1, Yonah, unless Yonah just doesn't care, which I could see. John. I'm going to say Yonah as well and I I hate, I hate that me and Tyler have the same pics right now. It'll shift here in a second. I'm going. With Pat. Really. Yeah. So you're either going, you're either going to smoke us or be like the worst. It it was like 5545. So it's. I mean it's. It's right there. It's right there.
And I honestly like, I think Pat's a little. He's he's somewhat of a safer pick in some ways. I just like Yona for the Open. Yeah, what about that Charles guy? Bernie brings up a good point. Charles I had Charles Guy from Mayhem who was beating Rich for the first two weeks. He was like top. 3. In the open. Yeah. It was. So my name was Rich, that wasn't. He. No, he's mayhem. He's mayhem.
He was at Mayhem because he was Mayhem's fittest person for the first two weeks, and they asked Rich about that. And then Rich, you could see how annoyed Rich was. And he just goes, yeah, those are two really good workouts for him. Like it just was like the best workouts ever for this cat. And there it is, Charlie Kiran. Yeah. Yep. All right, back to John, right, moving over to the women's side, Laura Horvath versus Emma Carey. Emma.
Carrie. Oh no. For me, I'm going to go with Emma Carrie as well. Damn it, guys. Tyler. Emma. Carrie, I have not built the computer for the women, so this. Is all on me. I have not built the computer. You're. Probably going to do better on the. Women side you'll probably get them better, right? Man, you're. The you're going to get them all right, and then you're going to get them all wrong on the. Men, I hope for your own sake that's wrong. I have always built the computer for the.
Women, dude. It takes forever. I bet Emma Lawson or Gabby Mcgall it's my pick. I'm gonna go with Gabby for Week 1, Tyler. I like ammo. So we all Emma and Emma for you. All right, John. Emma Awesome. 2 Emma's. You guys are? See how dumb is the computer now, John? Since we're picking the same pics, I. Know it's it's I'm. I'm as amazed as you are, Tyler. John is the. Computer. All right. Ariel Lowen and Alex Gazette. Tyler Ariel. Especially because it's week one.
But if that bench press comes out, John, boy oh boy. John, have you got Ariel or Alex? I feel like I'm better against myself if I say I want to say Ariel. But like I agree with everything Tyler has said because it's week one. It was a week 1. They're usually burners. But I'm going to pick Alex Kazan just in case. I I hope. This I. I hope you were going to get all of them right and now that's the one that just totally screws it up. Oh man. It's a it's.
It's not an obvious pick to me. No, I'm going to go with Ariel. I think Ariel is a smarter pick. I just yeah, think Kazan's got something to prove. Yeah, John rounding out round 124.1. Claire Toomey OR versus Alexis Raptis. Tia. Is there a world where Alexis beats her? Yeah, there's handsome push ups. I'm doing Tia, not week one. Yeah. Or, if at all. Tyler, Tia. My heart wants to say Alexis. Man train. Think tank, I know. It's the goat. All right, now we're down to
24.2. Going back to the men's side, it's my pick first Jay Crouch versus Roman. That go ahead. Oh. Man, I'm going to pick with Roman because I think I'm more confident about Roman winning and get into that round. And I. Beat Jay regardless. I thought about like when would the rower show up? I feel like Workout 2 is pretty safe for that. Now I have a question. If so like say say Crouch beats Adler, but Adler beats Roman. In week two, do you get points?
Do I get like, do you get points for Adler beating Roman? Not with betting with the boys. OK. OK, so like, once he's out, you're out. Like. This is the NCAA bracket type style. No, the app will be different because you're only going to bet one week at a time, right? One week at a time. Just making sure, just making sure. By the way, spin of the past 11 Open events, Jay Crouch has won eight of them against Roman. He's got to beat Jeff first, so that's a tough.
That's just the tougher Jeffers, the tougher beat. This is even worse. So I have Adler versus Roman. Obviously I'm going with Adler. He has won nine of the last 11 open events against Roman against Roman. All right. And John, I'm. Going to say Adler as well. You sure? All right, back to Tyler Dallin Orkoski. Dallin dallin all day. John. I'm going to pick Dallin. Although Kowski has won six of the last 11 workouts against Dallin and I have.
Ricky versus Pat, completely different than you guys. I'm going to pick I. Think you're going to pick Ricky, man, I think you're just going to Ricky. You're thinking about the games and it's and then it's the open. I Ricky has four of the last seven that he's done against Pat in the open. I like the data on your side because we're missing some for Ricky and I like that he would probably have picked up some. Fair enough.
John, over to the women's side, you have Emma Carey versus Emma Lawson. Emma Carey. That's it. I have Emma Carey versus Gabby McGowan. I'm going Emma, Carey and Tyler. I'm going with Emma Lawson. There we go. There we go. There's my. Separation. There, There it is. My separation. Yes, Sir. Good job, Tyler. All right. Emma Carey, an eighth seed, could win the bracket. I don't know the heart, the part that's the parts that that's
difficult with. This is like in the games, it makes sense for her to be an eighth seed, but like in the open, she's almost at like a two or three seed. Yeah, I think she should be a one seed. She I mean, you could make the argument for that, and I wouldn't. I wouldn't put much resistance against it. Early matchup Ariel Lowen versus Tia in Week 2 for my My bracket, I'm going back with Tia. Tyler, you have Ariel and Tia as well, Tia and John, you have Alex versus Tia. Bench press, baby.
We do how? Much How much are you running again? We ain't done it at all in the past, however many. Years. If they If by some miracle bitch presses a week one, it won't be a week two. So see, I'm going with Tia. All right. And now to the Championship on the men's side. Tyler has Adler versus Dallin. Who do you got? I have Dallin, but well, yeah, yeah, I'll say. But Adler is 1/8 against Dallin. John. I'm going to go Adler.
If there's a two parter, it's the average of those two scores and it's most likely to be A2 parter in week 3, which will be a lifting thing on the second part most most likely. I think just all stats would point to Adler in week 3. If it's not like that, it's a different open. Then down for sure has a shot, but I'm going to say Adler. Even if it's like, say, rowing and thrusters. I'd pick dude that's hard. I think Down has just a good of a shot to be Adler at rowing and thrusters.
Yeah. And then it comes down to Roman and Ricky for me. I'm going, Ricky. Dude, Ricky is not good in the open. I don't know why you think he's. We'll have to pick Roman or Ricky. That's. Wild. That's a Wild matchup you have in the end. He's thinking about the games, man. Yeah. I got here because I had Roman over Crouch and then I had Patton, so we'll see. Yeah, John. Women's Champion Emma Carey or T. Same, same reasoning, same reasoning.
I think I'm going to say Tia as with the Adler. You think Tia, even though she is in the proven, she'll be doing the open announcement. Does that change your answer? I think she'll be doing it, I think. I think. What? It, yeah. Do you think Tia can win it, Win the Open? Yeah. And that be why she does it and re does it. I do, I do, I think. I think coming second in Rogue I bet pissed her off a lot, even though we are all amazed by it.
And it basically sealed the case for 2024, at least for me. And I think she'll, I think she'll want to win the Open and just to show everybody this who's who. And yeah, I'm going to say to you. All right. Going back to me for the Championship, I have seen also have Emma and Tia, or Emma Carey and Tia. It's just tough because this could be an upset. I mean this is like. I don't like that Tia is going during the announcement on it,
but I also don't see her. But she has that against her too, because she know she's going to try to set a pace there and it could be wrong. That's what I mean. That's what I don't. If it's a two parter though, then it's sealed. It doesn't matter. I think they're gonna be a two parter on the I don't either, but. It it would be the IT would be the one it. Was it was week two last year and Tyler, Emma Watson or Tia? I can't. I can't pick, I can't pick Emma over Tia on this.
It's like I almost want the match up to be Emma, Carrie versus Tia, because that that showdown's amazing. And I think Emma takes I I think Emma takes that one. But this Emma? No. All right. There you go. Pretty different there. At the end we got pretty. Different, Yeah, yeah, yeah. There a little bit. I will say for last year, and this is what we tested with the group, I set it up a bunch of different ways and Dallin wins every time. Well, Dallin.
For last. Year. No, there you go. No, but it all matters is if you just win in a knock on somebody else, somebody else gets else, gets knocked out, and then you're home free. Interesting. Interesting. I I think John has a point. Like, it's very tough in the open of who cares, right? Like who cares enough to redo a workout or to push themselves to a dark place to get first in the world in the workout. I think John's right, Tia.
Tia is definitely one of those who could come out and say I'm going to win and show everybody I'm I'm going to win. In her last video, For Willow. For Willow. So on her. Last video she said that she wasn't. She wasn't totally up to speed yet. Now, not to say that she's already not heading. Well, that was two points for beating Laura at Rogue. For a competition that is built for Laura to win, and if she was even less up to speed at that point, I don't think it quite matters.
When you consider that Emma Carey is on the upswing of her career, she has a bone to pick and she's built for the Open. I like that. And the fact that she's not doing the Open announcement in TA is and could possibly screw up her pacing. True. If she's in the running, though, I think she redoes it. She redoes it on Monday if. She's, I bet. She if she's in the running for the the the cash, $15,000 on the line for first place. Yeah, so there is a prize there.
I think she just wants the title of winning the open more than the money. She isn't. She's fine doing the money. No, I know, but I. Think she wants She wants to do it because she see the she'll see the bracket and she wants someone to bracket. Well, I'll, I'll take I'll if if she's in it, I'll take her the bracket and let her. Know, Yeah, I just said there's. A lot on the line for Tyler, if you could really try your hardest on this one. And she'll say, I know I I
watched the show, yeah. I'm sure she's watching. She just doesn't comment. That's fine. But yeah, I'm sure she's watching. I watched the show. Thanks for playing along. Dante is. John does this. How much does Roman pull on the rower? For what? A million. For For what? For what? What? I don't. Think he never. He never goes below like, what, 1400 ever. There's no way, yeah. His Zone 2 is at 14. I bet his marathon pace is
probably slower than that. But like, give me a time domain and then I can tell you what he pulls. He pulls all the time. 60 calories. Like what was he pulling when he did the the work 20? 4.3 probably I would say probably 17118. 100 the first round two not, Yeah, not the second. What do you think his Max like his Max power output is? 4. Do you think 4? I don't think I've ever even seen 4. I just think if I can pull 3 something, you could probably pull 4 something. It wasn't like.
Back in the napkin math, you know. Wasn't it Brian Shaw? Brian Shaw did it and did the five. Hundred 105, yeah, it was 101 hundred. He can't get that long. It wasn't. A minute 20 is way too long for that. Guy, he snapped the rower in half. I'm pretty sure it broke. They had to put like plates underneath the middle, yeah. So there you have it, go to heat one app when it will be available in the app to start making pics.
Tonight. All right, So by the time this airs, or by the time people in, like Europe and Australia see this in the morning, it'll be up and ready to go, I. Mean 80% of our audience is from Australia, so that's true. They're already on it. So yeah, go to Heat one app, go check that out. Go download your bracket, play with your friends, get your gym members to fill the bracket like we did. See if you can beat any of us on your full bracket without any resets each week.
So yeah, go check that out. John, any big news on the JY barbell front? Yeah, a couple. A couple things. I had a girl named Amy Hines Clean Two O 5. This I think a week ago and she had never cleaned 200 before. Then she cleaned 200 and cleaned 2O5I think she has a shot to make the games as a master this year. It'll be very, very like just because they've expanded it as the only reason. But she's a freaking monster, just just waiting in the wings. We're building it. Every day.
What? What age group is she in? 40 to 44. Nice. Or or maybe, maybe maybe I'm thinking in a year she might be 39 and like in a year she'll she can make the games. Either way, be Top 40, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Good luck. All right, guys, good show. Go check out thebarbellspin.com. Go check out the Top 25 media poll, and then stay tuned. I'm sure we should get region exemptions here any day now. Keep waiting for those to come
out. We'll see who else gets an exemption and then, yeah, next thing we'll know it's a hint from Dave Castro sometime this week and then it'll be next week ready for the open. So until next week, we'll be there on Wednesday leading up to it and we'll see you then see us.
