Welcome to the spin. April 2nd we have a special guest, Miss Visa Goffy. Live. From. What's up you guys? Live from Cookeville. Live from Cookeville. Did you know she's going to the Mayhem class? Tyler just found that out. Wow. Yeah, Tyler didn't know that she was going. Tyler just thought I was just doing the open and I was going to chill after that. One, I thought she was just being cool and coming on the show. No. She just goes up the head. She's just going to watch mayhem.
I'm just going to watch Cheer. Yeah. How's it going? How's it, how's it going so far? You've been busy. I've been busy. I feel like the last month it's just been like a qualifier season, but right, all the things it was AI just got done finishing the WFP qualifier and then once we were done, I think it was like 2 weeks and now we're here so. Yeah, I got done with the qualifier too. I didn't do as well as you did, but. You make those Challenger rounds.
No, I didn't do so hot, but it's OK. It's. OK, no, but no. We're feeling good. I'm excited. I feel I was telling a lot of my friends asking Are you ready? Do you feel good? I feel the most ready just because I think it's just a good feeling knowing that this isn't the only stage that you get a chance to compete for a bid and to just compete live. And I think that takes a lot of pressure off. So I'm just here to rock'n'roll. And the workouts so far, I think are voting well for you.
They've been, they've been. I'm definitely, I said, I said there's no swimming, so that's good. Yeah, you might be all right for a couple years on that. I need to get back to that. No, but I mean, anything Mayhem is like all I've known, to be honest, like before joining Brute because I trained with Scott for so many years. So I mean, anything that's OG CrossFit, that's just like in my blood at this point. So I'm excited. So you were around during the 2019 season, right?
Yeah, that was my, that was my rookie year at the games. And that was like. That. I like trained what Scott was training Scott was I think at Scott was programming for us and him at the time and we would just like it was truly like just trained all day and like get wrecked every day and it. Was you were with Scott? Well, you forgot she was even competing this year. Pilot I just it feels like know a lot about. It's like 10 years ago she was with Scott though.
Like it feels so long ago, and it wasn't really that long ago. What is it, six years now? I know when I talk about it, every time I talk about it, I'm like every year I add another year and now it's getting close to 10. Years, yeah. And the did you, you qualify through the open though, right? That year was the five week. That was like the last year of the five week open and I qualified through that. It was like 24th.
I got 24th on that. Yeah, but then you also did you, How many sanctions did you end up doing? So many like actually, well throughout those years I did a lot, but that same year you mean? Yeah. I ended up doing two. It was like a big competing year of making it as a rookie and then within a couple months I was competing at Italian Showdown. You remember when that there was a sanction of there and Scott and I like got to do that
together. And then that was the first year Rogue Invitational came out and I got to do Rogue. So I did, or I did the Italian Showdown, Rogue and then the games like all within the same year.
Yeah. So when you heard the sanctional in person qualifying event structure, you've kind of gone through it. Obviously it's a little bit different than it was 5-6 years ago, but would you like the idea of different programming going different places, maybe a little bit more chaotic season than what we've had in the past? Yeah, like when they first came out with the semifinals. Where I think it was like you could only choose one to go.
Like you could only pick one to. Yeah, 21 you had to pick, right? 21, you had to pick. It was one of those. And then everyone was tested differently. I didn't like that because certain competitions were heavier on endurance and gymnastics capacity. Others were more strength based. And then it's like, well, if I would have gone here, I would have done better.
And if I would have been in this field, I would have done better considering the, you know, the girls on the roster, like you always like, we're fighting that. And so then there's another, you know, the following year. I think everyone had to have the same events. They're like the same similar structure. And I like that. It's like everyone that's making it to the games is getting tested the same. No one's getting a different test. And now this year is like, different, like, same, but
different. Now it's like, OK, there's multiple opportunities, but you don't get to go to every single one. You got to you have to be in a specific region or you have to be like, I can't go to Latin America and compete. Right. So yeah, but I do like, I think I can't. I can't even keep up with all the different at this point. I'm just like, what do I do need to do to get there?
And I'm just going to get there. Yeah, they're different workouts, but I think Mayhem's programming at least half of them. Yeah, some. Capacity. And I'm pretty sure Rich said that there would be two workouts that were a staple and all the Mayhem ones that they're programming to. Yeah. And I'm, I'm guessing it'll be, it'll be Isabel and then probably the finale, whatever that is. I guess we're not going to know anything like more after like Thursday.
I guess. We get yeah, we get one more. Yeah, we'll see. We don't. We don't know, but you know. Well, we got we got a little bit of a hint if you guys didn't see I. Know what? Is that the oh the £100 bill? A. £100 dumbbell Rich Frodian said E4 presented by Rogue Fitness Oh, so it's. The squat snatch we're just snatching again. Yeah, that is. Yeah, it was the Mayhem workout with a hundred a couple days ago, and I didn't do it because I was like, there's no freaking
way I can do that. It was with snatches. Did you? Circle I can't even see them I I did not circle that one. So the 100 LB dumbbell is this one here. 100 foot handstand walk 18 dumbbell squat snatch at 170 another handstand walk 14 at 1:10 or 75 handstand walk 1/20/80. Is that the only dumbbell with 100 lbs on there? I. I believe so. I think there's one more, but it's it's clearly not it because it's where was it? But. Also it has 5 squats.
Snatcher 225, this one. Yeah, Also, though, one of these workouts is a little bit different because Dre, they said Dre didn't know what the workout was and two workouts got combined together. So like it is the workout, but it's it's a little different than what it's than what is written. OK, what do you guys think the finale's going to be? I think we all know Fee. What do you mean I don't? We're just going to leave it at that. I don't, do you? Think it's going to be another 2 events.
No, the back-to-back. Yeah. I think it'll be the Are we allowed to say spin? We don't know anything. We don't know. I mean, you could look at. OK, right, OK. Yeah, we don't know. It's I think it's going to be the 30303030 Cal bike, 30 bar muscle up, 30 Cal bike man. I don't. We don't know anything. No, that's not. That's not showy enough. Like the storytelling? On the oh dude, I think that's AI. Think that's an amazing finale. Are you kidding me? Do you want to go with broken on
the bar muscle UPS? Is it worth it to go on broken on the bar muscle UPS And then like, let me Riddle you this. What if Colton, what if Colton and Austin get off on the ring muscle UPS for or bar muscle UPS first? They get on the bike 10 seconds before James. 10 seconds before James. Yeah, Colton. Yeah, Who wins that? Who wins that? I'm sorry. No, no. Do the ring muscle. Listen, I know James Time. I know James. No, no, I'm saying they get to
the second bike. Before Jake, I thought you meant the first bike. No, no, must be. Come on. I mean, I'm sorry I missed. That. Yeah, okay. And 10 seconds before James and then you got James getting on that bike like a hurricane and just going ham. You're telling me that's not going to be an exciting finale if that's it? If anything, I mean it is going
to be an exciting finale. If that is it, I think it's going to be more exciting for the guys because the guys could hammer a 30 Cal echo and less than 45 seconds. So that's going to be exciting for girls. You can. It's more of a bar muscle up workout for girls 100%. But I think it's I think it will make for a good finale. If that's it, Well, we don't know anything. Yeah, we're just. We're just guessing. We were predicting some of that
for. It was it was, it was on their board twice and it fits the mold of what they haven't tested. And that's why, that's why we, I think that. What do you? Guys, think about. How many people are going to get wrecked on day one after all the squatting? Well, it's only, I think it's only, is it only going to be two? Do we know that the first 3 events are on day? I think they're going to have the thrusters and legless as the first event of day two, I thought.
They oh, so they're only going to go. To two. I thought it was just running and then Isabel the run and then Isabel and then that's day one and then three events day 2. I don't think we know. OK, but event 3 not is not necessarily also on day one? It sounds like events 345 whatever are not in order. So we could go in, I guess we will find out on what, what's our athlete briefing Saturday or Friday?
Yeah, I mean, five hours. I've heard they're going to try to keep it in a tight time window. I can't. See them doing 2 events on Saturday and four Friday. Or do you know for sure there's 6? I assumed it was three and three. That was just through word of mouth. But did Hopper tell you no? Why was he saying we don't? Know we don't. Know, yeah, we don't know if it's 5 or 6 like it's not a for
sure thing. My good feeling says it's got to be at least 6. I I would think that too, but J Rs been making a strong case that it's 5. Interesting. OK. I thought, really? Today I should have asked. I don't like the five. I feel like if there's five like one workout like a heavy. One workout has to have. It it throws you off right? Like if you're not top 10 on everyone at 5 workouts. I mean, you weren't going to make top 2 if you're out doing that anyway man. Yeah. I think with.
Six, you still have an opportunity if you're like 1213 in that. Have you guys like what do you have to to get top 2? What's the least place like you have to be within the top three all weekend with only. 2 So James is the best case for this. He was 13th in the squat clean clean at Waterpalooza, but he was first, first, second, second, second on all of the remaining workouts.
So, and I think that's like the best case, you could have the furthest down you could finish and still make it because he was literally top two in every single other workout and. That's in the bend. Though, and that was with a field of 40. Right. But I'm just thinking right. In a field of 40, I don't think it matters whenever you're, I guess. I guess it does matter a lot. Yeah. So field of 20 you cut it in half 8th, 7th. See. This is where I wish they used
the Z score or the what do we? Use the score. Yeah, he. Scored the competition. He scores. He scores. Whatever that. He needs hey, he didn't even know you were competing, B Look, look how hard Tyler just got. Stop doing this to this man. I love B, she needs to be on every show does. That make a comment like that See I speak with it. Yeah, I I do like the P score from that standpoint because it does reward the great
performance. Or if you're close, because I think there's gonna be some really close races. In this, absolutely, I think the top girls like just like a lot of events. So like I think the top five, six girls that we consider top six, like I think those girls will also continue to stay top through the entire events. Like there's not going to be drastic changes. And that's going to be the hardest part of the weekend that
there's not going to lot. There's not going to be a lot of people snagging points Maybe on the maybe on, you know, heavy Isabel. I could see, you know, some girls like really taking advantage of the heavy Isabel, but everything else is going to be, it's going to be a fight for every point. I think, I think in the run for the second spot though, I'm going to go ahead and say Alexis is in a tier of her own in this competition.
You can just agree with me if you want to fee, but I'm going to go ahead and say that she's got one of those spots. I'd say I think I told her that actually a couple days ago, so I beat you to it. OK. You go get that first and I'll take the second. And I think the girls who are in the running for 2nd place or like so we think like none of them. Isabel is a home run, you know what I mean?
It's not, it's not necessarily a bad event, but none of those girls, yourself included, it's not like, oh, I'm about to top three this. Yeah, none of them. They're. All kind of in the same boat. Like Christine Kolenbrander, absolutely. I think Hannah Black, absolutely. Do you think they're in the running for the top two spot? No, but. I'm just saying that's what I'm
talking about. Of the girls in the running for the top two spot, none of y'all like I would say Emily yourself, Abby. I mean, Abby should be decent, but it's not like top three decent, right? And who else? Who else we got Shelby, Haley Adams? Shelby Neal. I actually think Shelby's going to be really good in that event, but I think other events are going to hurt her. I think event one's going to hurt her. One Isabel. What I'm saying is it's not a
home run for any of y'all. Yeah, I agree. But. I'm excited to see kind of how everyone does though for the the stronger girls that maybe could absolutely power snatch that weight fresh. I wonder what it's going to do to them after having done event one. A bunch of running. I think event one's going to be devastating. Like on people's legs and backs and like everyone's going into it being like, oh, this is my exact plan.
This I'm going to power snatch up until Rep 20 and then also and then we're about to just hit event 1 so hard and it's gonna. Work, especially if it's a quick turn around where let's say the women go. I think it's a 3 minute break. We're actually on a running clock. You you finish and it's a 3 minute reset and then you go. Yeah, Yeah, actually I think it's a 30. I think it's a 30 minute cap to finish both of the.
Workouts. Yeah. We don't start until 3:00 PM, so like it's going to be maybe an hour turnover. I would. Well, that's why we think it's only 2 events on day one, and we think it's only 5 events and then three events on day 2. I would rather what you say what you're what you think three and
three, six events. I would rather that, but it makes you think that there's only going to be 5 the way it's set up. Yeah, yeah, putting the putting the run event first with the squatting, that kind of does actually make me think it would be 5. Just pre fatigue the hell out of your like out of your total system and then get your like CNS. The fatigue after the snatches you're going to feel like trash. Yeah, I'm really happy that they made the dumbbell thruster
weight the way that they did. I think anything heavier we everyone's going to would just be failing at that point. That work out. I did a version of it, super teeny tiny version of it, and I was already standing at the rope like, Oh no, this, I'm feeling it right now. But that's good for you if you're standing at the rope. I mean, a lot of girls were standing at the rope. That's also been with no adrenaline, so I'm excited for that one. So Spin Fee has not looked at my
ranking. She doesn't even know who I picked for the top 2 and Tyler didn't even know she was competing. I don't know what we're kind of organization we're running here, man, This is this is pretty ridiculous. But the reason we had you on the show, Nick Spence, going to pull it up here, is you are the actual person I'm predicting to get top 2. I can't. Oh. That just gave me chills. And I even I I. Believe it. I'm glad you. Believe it and, and I and so it was just funny.
I wanted to tell you a little story. So like I was going through the process and I'm like, OK, I think like I know people will say like a bunch of people, but I think like 3 girls are in the running for the second spot. I think it's just between you, Abby and Emily. And I went to Dallin. I actually had a little small, very small conversation with Dallin. And obviously, obviously he's biased and I asked him about Isabel because I wasn't quite sure how that was going to be
for you. I know you're a very good barbell side player, but your top end strength is not great. And, and I was like, good workout, bad workout, Shoot me straight. This is going to this is going to affect everything that I do here. And, and he and he talked, he said he talked me into it. It wasn't going to be a bad workout. So I was. Like it was, it was. Enough. It was enough. It was enough for me to put you 2nd place and I so don't let me down. I appreciate.
I will. Hey, if there's one thing you'll see from me all weekend, it's given 1,000,000% of every ounce of effort that I have and I'm going to die for every single point. I'm actually very excited. Like I think the old fee would be very nervous for that event.
And almost like now I'll give myself credit for at least the work that I've been putting in. And that's the event that I'm almost the most excited for because I just want to keep showing myself, but I want to show people that like I'm freaking coming strong like I've been working so hard on. My and you looked at. You looked at. Thank you, Thank you. I've been eating more. I've been gaining some weight. I've been just like trying to put the pieces together. It reminds me of.
Diligently on programming and I'm just ready to get all those 30 reps and hopefully surprise some people. Yeah, you got to use your sources, people. Why would you not use them? No, it reminds me of James Sprague at at Tijuana Palooza two years ago when he hit the hang snatch complex and he hit, like, one of his biggest numbers. And then now you look at him and he wins the CrossFit Games. Like, different person. Yeah. Like, you can tell.
Like there's that trajectory of if you feel confident, you know, you're starting to move the weight, it's getting heavier and you're able to handle it. Like there's that shift, right? And so to. Hear you say you're confident in that. Yes. I mean, I think this weekend for me is like I'm very confident in my fitness and it's going to be a full weekend of execution. And I don't think there's a single event that is going to be presented where I don't have the fitness to do very, very well.
Execution is just something that. It is the make or break a lot like it's been the make or break a lot in my seasons, whether I make it or not make it. And there have been times where I just don't execute and that's the reason and there's just not enough points to get back. So when it comes to the snatch, I know the strength is there. I know my battery work is very good, especially when it comes to like those 80% lift that range.
And I've proven that. So it's going to be all about just like blinders on. Just focus on one, you know, one Rep at a time. Don't look at anyone else. And I think if I keep that focus, I'm going to show my best fitness so. On the on the execution side, like in the past, like where did you fail an execution and do you think that you've gotten over that now?
Yeah. So in the past, like there have been times, for example, you know, there's a couple years ago back in Orlando, like I still made it, but it was freaking close. It was in Orlando where it was the final event and I was poorly executing my toaster bar. I was starting to fail way earlier than I planned. I wasn't as fast as I had practiced on the sand, but there's just like a lot of things.
And I got a pretty low finish and I remember crossing the finish line and I was like, I think the bid just slipped out of my hands on that last minute. And I'm like looking at my friends, looking at my husband, looking at everyone. I'm like crush the numbers now. Like I need to know. And I think that's why I had that moment of. Just what's the P score? Thanks God for no P score on that one because. You're in -256 whatever. That's whatever your goes. Right.
But then like years back, I don't know if you guys were following along, but it was the year of I did. I was in Knoxville competing for Knoxville Syndicate. It was the other one in Knoxville. And I actually within that weekend, I got top fives and sevens all weekend except the Snatch. I like only hit like a 170 or something and it was like a like a 30th place and I got 7th that weekend and I had that qualifying for the LCQ. So it was like everything was
great. And then but again, I guess that was more strength, you know, base. But it's usually when it comes down to at least how we compete. Now if you have a poor execution on one, it like you don't have a lot of points to make up, especially the roster of girls at 2020. You have less events, you have less days. Like so and. You only have 5 or 5 or 6 events like it's 17%, Yeah.
And that was I mean. Heavy Isabel is not one where it's like if you missed one Rep that sets you back 20 seconds, 20 seconds immediately. So at least. That that workout and I don't think people understand how much of A risk reward that particular workout is. It's not necessary. It's not a normal strength workout because somebody could be better than you and they miss once and then they rush and miss twice. Are you talking about Austin? And then no, stop it.
Stop it. Well, that actually was happening a lot on. Don't you? Don't you put evil on Austin Hatfield feet? Don't do it. No, no, I'm not. I'm not going to match going to feel like that. I got love for him. Last year's semi snatch letter super fun to watch because also that was like my highest player
in the barbell event. That was like 12, but it was the girls left and right of me clearly have way higher one RMS than I do. I think my my Max is like 10 lbs heavier than the last barbell which was like 175. But you see girls starting to fail and you're just like, don't look at them, don't look at them, don't feed into it. Oh dude, I'm not feed on it. That's. Right, you failed. You weak people. Watch. Me do this. I don't want to. Miss, you don't want to catch.
You don't want to catch the cooties. You're like no, no, no, no, no. I. It's it's no different like you, if you watch someone miss a lift, immediately you go, you're like, I don't, I just watch someone miss a lift and now that's in my brain. Man, we think so different. I watch somebody miss a lift. I'm like, man, you're about to watch, watch. But like I get, I get 10 times stronger the second somebody missed the lift because I I get so cocky and it's just, it's way
different. Have you ever had that attitude and then you? Never. Never. Feet, feet, feet. The reason I I am not fit is because I don't miss lips. I'm just. Trying OK. And I and I paid for it. I paid for it. You take me. I'm asking Ron. I'll miss a pace. Yeah, don't ask about the time you did a High Rock simulation with Dell. But you told me about your high rocks. I was proud of my time. OK, listen, I don't. And her. Her. Husband. Was really proud of it.
In the middle of it, her husband really proud get. It with with us. Oh, he. Did did he beat? You. Yes, everybody. He's on that account. With me, he didn't, he didn't beat me by half much. OK, he was, he was like 5 minutes ahead of me 5. Minutes is a. Ton of time it was. It was an hour and a 25 minute workout for me it was it was anyway we can get off of that? Anyway, that all to say, John is not fit, but you are very strong. Keep that. That's what it costs you to feel
cocky in this, in that moment. It costs you your fitness. So. One of these days you got to go test event one and see how. I actually plan on doing event one. I I love those long hard grinder workouts. I'm not, I'm not good at them, but I love doing them. Does that make sense? Yeah. Taking this time. You definitely. Yeah. Well, I guess it doesn't hurt immediately.
It only hurts. Right, Yeah, yeah, See, I get, I get to run slow on that because I'm like, OK, I'll just do these squats on broken and then I'll and I'll, well, no, I'll choose to hurt on the squats and then that way I can run slow, you know? It's just shuffling your feet, yeah. That's what it, that's what it takes in your battles. All I have to say is you have the better end of that. You don't want that feeling like I'm, I'm glad that you have what you have.
I'm envious of it. I'm excited for that one too because we've been working so much on running. Like there's been a couple more things taking priority, which obviously strength, I think forever for the rest of my career is going to continue to be the priority. But we've been doing so much running without it knocking my strength, which is awesome. And like I've gained 5 lbs, I'm running more but getting stronger.
And we just tested our 5K and it's like, OK, everything is like on the up and up. So I'm excited just to do that event to be able to kind of see how the running has been taking place too. No, I think to get fitter and gain weight at the same time, that's like a crazy grave feeling. Yeah, it's been slow, but I used to wait my first year I was like a 125 athlete and I it's. So small. Yeah, that's teeny. Well, that's why we were only good at the CrossFit light barbell. Stuff.
So you're at, you've been at Mayhem for a few days, right? Has anybody else shown up yet? Actually, Royce, Royce is here from Australia. Royce done. He got in I think Sunday or Monday or no Sunday. I think one of those days he had a lot more travelling. I just drove 9 hours. I think he travelled like 24 hours. That's crazy. And then who else did I see? I saw a lot of the guys from Benito. I saw. Benito I saw. Who else did I see? Sounds like all four years. Yeah.
Everyone's rolling in. Right now I'm like, who did I see? You saw, you saw all the foreign people, Yeah. All the foreigners. No, everyone. Well, yeah, because they're getting in early. I think a lot of people like James gets here tomorrow. Some of my friends get here tomorrow. So all the in state. People Royce is he posts a lot like he does a lot of the mayhem, like regular block programming that they post. He does like the semi final, you know, games version and like his
scores for the past little bit. Like I watch them all the time because I'll submit my scores on there and I'm like, where's Royce? Like he's the name that I know. So I'll scan and find them and like sometimes I'm like decently close and then the closer we've gotten to this competition, he's just like way ahead. So like you've been sandbagging for months and now? You're actually into work. He knows when to amp up the fitness. You can't do it all year long. Right.
Have they done he? Has four kids. Royce he's. He's a father of. Four kids, yes. He reminds me, have you seen Ted Lasso? Have you seen Ted Lasso? No, but I care about it all the time. Oh OK, well don't worry about it here. He looks just like a character. On the reference I just laughed. OK. Have they done anything with Have they done anything with CrossFit Mayhem yet? Like the setup for the competition? Do I know anything about the setup?
No, they set it like did they started setting up the flooring or? Oh, that, that from what I know, I think they're they're going to start setting it up tomorrow because they're starting to close the gym during certain times. And the flooring is actually going to be different than Mayhem Classic back in 2020, where in 2020 we originally had the rig on the main space, right? And like, it was like that main floor. It was the only floor that we used right in the middle of the facility.
And now it's actually going to be switched where part of the floor is actually going to be on the turf and the lanes are going to be down kind of horizontally. And yeah, it's just going to be a different setup and I think a much wider more space than their first year. Good deal. Well, I'll be there in Cookeville on Saturday. Tyler, are you going to be making the drive? I'll be down there Saturday morning. How long is the drive for you? Like 6 hours probably. Oh, that's. Not bad, I got.
Less I got less than two hours so I'm makes it easy for me. Oh. Brett, where are you at? Just outside of Nashville on the other side. Oh. It's so easy. I'll be I'll be here. I I won't make. Where do you? Live I Houston, TX, OH. You're in Texas, OK Oh, that's why you're doing the The Good League weekend in Texas. Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am. That's a whole other topic for another day. Yeah. We'll let you get back to everybody else. I've seen Dom and others walking around.
Behind you So I'm playing with Dom and Olivia. They're they're hosting me before before it starts to get crazy. Nice. Well, I appreciate you jumping on and good luck this weekend and we'll see you there. Thank you girl. Thanks, you guys. See, I won't let you down, John. I appreciate. Hopefully not see ya bye or. Did you hear that? No. Jorge said I won't either. I'm 17th. I wish that picked up on the mic a little bit. Better That's good stuff. Good stuff.
Just want to move on. By the way, if my if my if I just like cut out, it's because a tornado took me away. Storms are storms are brewing over here in in Nashville. That's why you should be in in Cookeville. Yeah, something like that. All right, so viewer comments. I don't know if this guy dropped a comment or not. I think he has bigger things to deal with, but at Barbed Wirecats, Tyler, what are you? Doing Did I screw it up? Your audio is. Yeah, like it got weird.
Feedback. OK, I'll switch back. Oh. You're better now. You're better now. Is it better now? OK, so. Far Yeah, I love John. He makes the shows he is on engaging and entertaining. Before he does commentary with Philip Syndicate, he must rein in the compulsion to interrupt people speaking on podcast. I'll stop you there, Spin. I I understand. Don't just. I'm just kidding. Go ahead. Go. Ahead on podcasts, it doesn't really matter. For competitions, it does just just.
I agree completely. Friendly advice. It is it is something that I am I'm working on. I good, great advice. I I I'm hopefully, hopefully I will be better than I was at crash. Just work in progress. I'm going to do my best, guys. Terry wants to know Tyler, why are you in Frank's bathroom? I. Mean I am not. I love how we have to go over this every time I travel. Sorry, I can't I I can get out the other Mike's, but I don't
think you guys want that. John Young's McDonald's Order Can we address the $200 spectator tickets for the Mayhem Classic Insane. Not really. I mean, think about it, they don't have a large crowd that they can fit into that place. It's like, it's like going to a Duke game like those, those tickets are going to be more because there is no seating and like if they sell out and they will, why would you not make it more? You know what I mean? If it's, if they sell out $200,
why would you make it $50? It's, it's, I mean, it's just, it's just, it is what it is. That's how much money those tickets are going for. And you know you're going to get the show Worth the $200. Yeah. I mean, these are honestly this probably will be the best semi final there is as far as talent pool that's there. Yeah, density of talent for sure. Grant yes, it is the road caster acting up. So we're just, we're just living with it. Let's see, this one is a little bit of a conversation.
SJD 5 JD wants Nicholas Padune as a Cinderella so bad but hates on Tyler Christopher for the exact same reason. I responded and said no, that's Tyler and ML Kearns chimed in and said who is Tyler Christopher? Exactly do. You do you want. To tell you all about him. He's a quitter, is what he? Is Tyler Tyler Tyler be act like Tyler Christopher is looking at you right in the face. OK, I did this. Jorge. Got in my ass about this because. Oh, pause. What? Whatever.
So when we were in water Palooza like a year or two ago, Jorge was like, hey, he's like, I know who you are. I know what you've been saying about me. So we had to have a good talk, he. Knows what John's saying about him too. I, I tell every athlete to their I looked, I looked Jason in the eyes and said, I don't think you'll ever win the CrossFit Games. And and he's never let it go ever since, apparently. I like how my clip of calling
him Flopper came back. I was like, I've called you Flopper. The least? The least I don't think I've ever called him that. I said he was going to win the games when no one said he was going to win the games. He did. I still sit down at the higher ceiling than than Jason, so Jason has to win the games to. You know, what's funny is I actually think the two are just, you know, hand in hand. That could go either way. I feel good about both of them now. There's chances.
In they've they've had different journeys. 11 has peaks and valleys, and once it's been on a consistent, exquisite trajectory, but you know, I just feel like they're like lightning and Thunder. I just don't know which one is which, you know? Jason's definitely more entertaining. Those peaks and valleys, they they keep you interested. Jason is is. You're right, Jason is more entertaining, but you can't
trust them not as a person. You can trust him as a person, but like his his performance, man. Like when you don't think he's going to be great, dude, he freaking does something crazy and he's awesome. And then whenever you expect a ton of them, not awesome and it's just it's you just don't know which one is which, you know? I think he's grown out of. That I know. I think he's getting better. I think he's getting better. I agree.
And I feel like I think he's here to stay, like, you know, top five games guy, I think he's here to stay. But yeah, they've both had different journeys to get to that to where they're at on the mountain. They've they've took different routes on the mountain. Dallin took the easier side, Jason took the much harder side, and they're I would you. Know. I'd say they're in the same spot. That's fair enough. It's Joe 1986. He's 39 years old. Congrats Joe.
We talked about the competitions people care about in quotes. Proceeds to talk about big grid league news. It was big grid league news and people and listen, people might not care about the grid league, but they're going to because we're going to, we're going to, we're going to burn the house down. I'm going to. It's going to be so fun, guys. And I know none of you guys know how any of it works, but we're going to we're we're going to, it's going to be, it's going to be such a fun ride.
I'm going to turn that thing upside down. Especially if a few developments might actually take place, it could get crazy. All it takes is a couple athletes and you guys are going to be on the grid train Mike. Scott Pancit going to the rival team. Dude, So I kind of, you know what, I'm going to go ahead. I don't know if I am supposed to say this, but I'm not.
Going to stop. Dude, the the commissioner wanted to set up our first match to be against the wild, the the team that did cancel me and, and, and I was all for it. I'm like, get it, Let's do it. You know, they're they just won the championship. They're a great team. We're probably not going to win. I'm going to be honest with you. You know, all of our, all of our team is rookies for the most
part. So like it's a big ask, but I'm like, bring it on. I'm I win one thing, I'm going to be obnoxious, OK, Like it's going to be. And they refused to play us. They said no. And so we had to play a different team. I mean, they said no. They they refused to play us. They said they weren't going to play us. Hell yeah, that's only going. To wait till the championship is what it's. Going to dude, dude, dude.
And I and I just couldn't believe that like I thought it would be. I didn't know that you got veto power on. Well, I think it's the start of the season, you know, it's not. They're making the schedule. Who's making the schedule? The while. No, no. They're in the front. Like they made the schedule. It's out. I see. I I know I published. It he was going to change the schedule and and and they said
no, I don't. Even know dude, that one would have been good but who cares It's going to be a crazy showdown when you finally meet. Anyone. Oh dude, it's going to be amazing. I saw Sroka may not even compete. I'm so hyped. At Jr. Gills, it doesn't matter who competes at the Games. I will watch it because it's CrossFit. CrossFit is my team. I think this is in revelation to the Grid League, Nick. I'm going to. I'm going to make it interesting, dude.
One way or another, I'm either going to and it's going to be like a train wreck and y'all get to see me be the conductor of the train wreck, or it's going to be awesome. And then I bring Colton along to to conduct the awesome. Music to Nick's point though, I have 80,000 followers on Instagram. Grid has like 480,000. I had more engagement on my schedule post than they did so. And my walkout, my walkout music's going to be Big Papa and it's going to be amazing. Can't wait to see John in his
Houston Bandits jersey. It's going to be good. Or stone cold. I'm leaning. I'm leaning towards doing the stone cold walk out with the broken glass. I like that too. Hopefully you have both arms. I dude, they, they put that picture up and you guys can't put anything different than that. I was like, and they, they cut it in a way where it does look like I'm Casey Akery on steroids. Like, like they, they, they, I'm the most roided up adaptive athlete they've ever seen.
That's what they made it look like. I don't know why they had to do that. Shout out Casey Akrie. Yeah, so Jr. Gills, that's why he will not watch the WFP because CrossFit is his team. I love the athletes, but it's not about them. Just as you wouldn't stop being a fan of your favorite sports team because they have different players. I think we're we're, we're talking about two different sports though.
You're. You're like, oh, I'm only a fan of like, I don't know, the Jacksonville And it's like, OK, cool, you can still be a fan of Duke like you can. Still watch Duke. Yeah, right. So yeah, that's Jr. Gills and the last one. I just have to read this at AHA 8008 as a listener from the beginning, this woke liberal capitalist, feminist, economist, etcetera sports fan appreciates that you mostly keep politics out of the podcast. You're welcome.
But still, when you talk about athletes traveling to the events, why are you ignoring the massive elephant in the room, the UK, Germany, Denmark, Ireland? Not true. Finland, Norway, etcetera have now all warned against traveling to the US and Canadian airline bookings were just published as being 75% down from last year. I'm going to. I'm going to. All right, time for mayhem predictions. All right, here we. Go. I wanted to do that one so bad, but all right, I don't.
I don't. I don't even know what that meant. There's so much fallacy built into that question. Your question was posed was. There a question. No, there wasn't. OK, I wasn't sure it's just a statement. I was going to whip my massive Dick out here in a minute and read that comment again. Where are you going to find? Yeah, I'll go find one. Colton's walking around here somewhere. I'll go get him. I'll go, I'll go get him. Avery.
Justin Colton if you want to get a teeny weeny a go to go to crocheted crochet mustard cheat company on Instagram or get you a pig. The pigs are now available. Go get it. If my wife's watching. Put it whatever you want in the comments dear, for people to go get it. Predictions, John, I don't know what is going on with this today. It's not filling the screen. Oh, that might be my. Fault. Oh really? That's cool, that's cool. I may have messed around with it
a little bit this. What happened? I'm out. Adam and I were testing out a clock and I didn't know how to fix it back once I screwed it up. So sorry, look. At that in real time, I fixed it. I was like, man, when I I did it with fee in there, I was like, I don't know what's going on. You called. I heard the iron hog was needed. That's. What I heard now there's the the HOG signal up in the sky. Dude, we should make a hog signal dude and just anytime he does something just put the signal out.
All right, 20 men, 20 or 18 women called DB and Brooke Wells dropped out Kind of changes our our whole prediction. From Do we know why? Don't talk about it, Tyler. We should just ask Danielle. I'm sure she'll tell us. Everybody talked, asked Danielle on her live Instagram and she said don't ask her. I don't know. I feel like it's something so simple and she's just being dramatic. Obviously I don't know, but like if it's just like your shoulders hurt, you don't want to hurt it
more. You're just going to try to do your best in online and then syndicate like and it's something like that. Like down. Down did this exact same and said This is why I feel like it's probably that like something like that. And then she and then for some reason wants to be however she is. And then if it's like super
personal and I'm sorry, I said. The WFP is net the week fought the weekend following and so I could see that having something to do with it. But this is like like this so far has been a really good competition for it for her. And then also Rich said on his podcast today that he was like she had a freaking softball toss coming. That is yet to been announced. Sounds like I'm best not just a handstand walk. I mean, I take her to win that.
Yeah, I mean, I think my opinion is athletes are starting to realize that this whole like I could just compete at this 90% level 8 * a a year is not going to pan out. Well, and I, I think it'll take a little bit to, to, I think exactly what you just said is going to come to fruition. I do think it's going to take a little bit for that to come about. And like, like I'm talking like come around syndicate time, you'll see what the WFP is causing. You know what I mean?
When, when online simmies don't go as good as you just assumed, they're going to go right for certain athletes. I'm not even, not even Danielle exclusively. I'm just talking about everybody. Yeah, you could be 13th at the online semifinals, which is freaking amazing and. Not. Anyone with the games? And then that's freaking Miriam von Rohr gets in your way. You know, something like that. Order of events like if if it were me and I'm Danielle and I'm
looking at the mayhem classic. I'm definitely prioritizing mayhem because like you have you're, you're definitely within that top three, right? And then why risk it and go to the WFP event and then have to do online semifinals and maybe screw up? Like what? What happens if you I don't, I don't hope she gets hurt, but what if you get hurt at the WFP event? You're putting all your eggs in syndicate. I don't, no, no, not at the same time though.
Like if you do have a nagging injury and you are concerned that you may not be 100%, maybe you thought maybe you could kind of not get to where you, you know, not peak for this competition. And then you're coming into it and you're going, man, I don't feel great. I don't like, I don't want to go there and either potentially hurt myself worse or take third place, right? It would not be hard to take third place in this field.
No. And so like, you take third place and now you've maybe aggravated your injury, you've added more competition wear on you for that. You're now, you know, four weeks from now, you're going to be doing 2 Week 2 competitions in two weeks. Like it's a, it's a gamble on any of these, right? Like, how many times do you try to get up for a competition? And like Haley's already said that she's like, at least in the Open, she doesn't peak until April, usually when it's
semifinals, right? Or like, gets in shape because she's never had to before. Do we know why Brooks dropped out? I don't know, I imagine it's probably something similar. She. Hasn't said anything. So I don't want to put just all of the onus on Danielle, but it is like I there's no reason for you to just, you know, be a Dick to all your fans, You know what I mean? And people. Support. Was she a Dick Dick though?
No, not a not she wasn't a big Dick, but she was like, you know, a micro Dick, you know, like she is like. Well below average Dick. Like, like a creeper Dick, you know? Like Pedro, Pedro put it in his fake news. Like she basically was. Like if you're any of you asking why I withdrew, just don't.
Don't ask. Yeah, and, and like, it's not major, but it's still like, you know, people care about you, you know, it's and it's kind of kind of mean to just be like, you don't care about them, You know, I. Think everybody appreciated why Dellen said what he said. And it was over. Nobody cared, right? Like, oh, I get it done. You know what I mean? He's like, I'm not competing. This is why I I got a lot of stuff. I get it.
I wanted to, you know, we're done, you know, and we don't even, and we don't even give you a hard time that you're doing WFP and that's adding to like all the stuff you got because you have to go there, right? But and we get it right. We told you something happened, but that's it. You said why you're done. It's over. By her not saying anything it makes you think something. Weird right? Clock. Maybe DB and Wells plan on rolling into syndicate and
walking with the two spots. Easy, all their peers will have already qualified. I think it's a slippery slope. I don't reckon on that. I don't even disagree with the statement. I don't. But it is a man. He takes one bad event. I was talking to somebody about Norcal, right? And it was like, well, by the time Norcal rolls around, everybody that's like a games veteran is probably already qualified. We don't know that like, right.
I mean, it's not easy. I, I, again, you look at what's quarterfinals was last year, when even at that time, you know, everybody's trying hard. But at the same time, you don't have to be perfect. Like Dowell would not have qualified through quarterfinals last year and he was doing kill Taylor. He was competing as hard as he could trying to beat those guys would not have qualified, right. Caitlin Vanzil finished in the top 11 last year.
She didn't qualify for the games out of Australia, so like. No. Types of athletes can go jump in there. And so like Dallon has to go to Syndicate, who's to say he takes first or second? When you have possibly Adler, you have a possibly Hopper or a Hatfield or a Roman or a Luke Parker, like all those things can come into play and next thing you know you're at Norcal and all it thinks is 2 guys that kind of slipped through the cracks, had two bad weekends, not even bad.
Third place isn't bad and now you're at Norcal. And so if you think you're just going to slip into one of these later competitions, I don't think that's the case. Dude could you imagine if it like it goes down and they just get dragged drugged through the wringer and they end up at the LCQ right? And I swear the LCQ is going to be the the Community Cup for anybody that's in the top 1%. Don't lie, don't lie, Hopper, You going?
You going to bail out now? I'm going to call you such a punk if you do that, Jason. You know what? You just dropped three spots on the mountain. You're off the mountain, I. I think that would be a big mistake, man. I think it's looking pretty good for you. I think it's. Good idea. Jason, I think it's going to go really well for you this weekend. Just do that. It's definitely going to work
out for you. Yeah, Speaking of predictions, I don't know if this is good or bad for Hopper, but John, who posted your stone cold rankings, your predictions? I did. First of all. Otherwise known as what's going to happen? I do have to say I, I, I did like the I was, I was proud of my. Dude, the Ovaltine edit is pretty great. It's pretty great. And, and I brought it in there and your head was too big. And I was like, I like it. That way we'll fix it, yeah.
Anytime you're editing a head on to somebody else's body, always make it too. Big listen, I'm done more this will piss me off. I'm just waiting for my own Instagram. My own Instagram posts from you lifting moderate weight a bunch of times. That's what I'm waiting on. Stay out the comments, John Austin Hatfield. No surprise there for for you, John. And I honestly though, I, I, it wasn't, it's not, I'm not super confident in it.
I do think, I do think there's nothing stopping him, but Austin has shown that he doesn't. He's not Dallin as far as execution goes. And with only five events, even if there's 65 or 6 events, one bad execution error is the difference between really making it or not. I think James is going to be right there with that third spot. I don't I in in the running for the top 2 and it just it would not surprise me honestly, any of the top four if they got the two spots, I would not be surprised.
Roman, I would be a little bit just because we have no idea what to expect from Roman. I don't think he's washed, but I just, you know, all four of these guys just seem like they're on one and he's not. He's off of 1. Right. Well, we don't know. Like he's been. I know, but I feel, yeah, right. So like, it would surprise me if he just came out here and
wrecked everybody. But like, I think there's a lot of good events for Colton. I think event one's going to be great for Colton and nobody's talking about it. Event 2 is obviously going to be good for Colting. You know, I think he'll be better than people expect. I don't think he's going to be top three, but I don't think it's going to. I, I can't see, I don't know, I can see like 6th or 7th. I just don't think a ton of things are going to be bad. I think they're all going to be
in the running. I think for James it's Isabel. For Colton, it's the legless, the legless Thruster 1. Jason and Hopper or Jason and Austin, they're the two to beat in my opinion. One executioner from either of those two, a perfect run from Colton or James can get it done to get in the top 2. That's what I think and that's how close I think they'll be. It sounds like Mayhem's getting one of the semifinal rigs, so like a 14 feet rope climb. Does that help or hurt Colton on the rope climbs?
A shorter rope. Climb I almost think it hurts. I think Colton would rather more pools. You know, I, I think like he said this before, like regular rope climbs, everybody's up there in two. He it takes him three right It's and it's always going to take him three right. He can't change that legless, you do get fatigued. So if his pulling muscles are that much better than everybody's when they're fatigued, he's not. He can go.
They can't, right? So even if it takes them less pulls, it's still that much fatigue that's much more fatiguing. Where rope climbs, that's not the case, right? Everybody can rope climb forever. So a shorter rope means less pulls for everybody. I would say that's bad for him. Yeah, I'd agree. James Sprague.
Dude, I think he's going to rock everything except Isabel and how he does how his whole entire competition, we said this at Waterpalooza, I said the whole competition for him is that clean, squat, clean, that squat, clean, hang, clean. That's the whole competition for him. I think he's going to win two or three events and I think depending on what he does with Isabel is if he can make the top two or not if he wins. He think he wins #1. No, I don't. Really. Yeah, yes. Who's going to win #1?
I want to pick Colton Mertens. I don't. Watch and see, Watch and see. I just don't. I don't disagree. He's. I think Colton's in first place after day one. If legless. If legless workouts not in day one. I think Colton's in first place after day one. I don't hate it. There's a. Good runners there though, and I know it's not all just. Running. Yeah. And the run is short. If it's 700 meters and there's three rounds, it's 2100 meters.
It's a mile and 500 meters. It's not a time to make up distance. And then the 20 Burbie box get overs. I get it, I get it. You got to travel longer than them. But it does slow everybody. It slows everybody down, right? It's just can your fitness keep up with their easier Burbie box jump overs? And I think it's fitness can and then it comes down to guess what 40 freaking squats with 100 LB feed sack. That is really hard to do.
People don't understand it's 120 sandbag squats like that is so much and then you have to run with fatigue in your legs. Who the freak do you think is the best at that out of everybody are? You going to say it's Colton? I'm going to say it's Colton Martins. I think, I think the, I think the advantage here is on the squats and everybody's not thinking about it.
I think, I think the exact situation we had with the ski back where everybody's like Roman, Roman, Roman, Roman, and it's a squat workout and nobody and nobody's thinking of Colton because there's 3:30 or there's 230 Kow skis in it and nobody's thinking about it. I, I, I and I could be wrong. You know, James could just win. Cool. He could. I mean, he'll be right there. I'm not going to say he's not, but I'm going to pick Colton for
this one. And if Colton's good at it, you know who else is going to be. Good. At it. Austin. Austin. Austin is also going to be good at it. So honestly, I think I'm most excited for event one. It's it's the least one that I know exactly what's going to happen. I think a whole bunch of things can happen. Isabel. I pretty much know exactly what's going to happen. Legless thruster one more or less. I know where people are going to end up being right. The 3030 thirty thing.
I think it's a big man workout. I don't think there's a big advantage on the muscle UPS even if you go unbroken. I think the 60 Cal bike matters more if that is the workout. We know we don't know it, but no, I'm not. And, and you know, again, I could be wrong on this. I just think people are not. I think it's a different workout than what everybody else is thinking. Colton Down, 4th. Roman 5th. Luke Parker, Sestoval, Sam Cordwaier, Jack Rosemont.
Gimel Harris, 10th place. Is that just because of Isville? I know, I know other things like you know, the handstand walk he's great at, if it's dumbbell snatch handstand walk, I think he's going to be great at that event. He might even be top three at that event. He could win that one. Right. Yeah, he could. 100% he could. Depends how long it is, right? I think again, I think I think he'll probably win Isabel. I think he'll be top five in that dumbbell snatch.
If it's if it is the dumbbell snatch, handstand walk 1. I don't think he'll be bad at the legless Thruster 1. I don't think he's gonna be in the running with the top five, but I don't think he's gonna be bad at it. That alone. Should be good at that one he's good at. No, yeah. No, I, he should. I think he'll be well, I what I'm saying is I don't think he's on the tier of these other guys of these five, the top five guys.
I don't think he's gonna steal points away from them in that event, but I do think he's going to be better than like Nick Matthew. You know what I mean? Like guys like that, right? I think he'll be better than Jack in the in a workout like that. Who? Takes who takes last in the 1st event. Gee, you know, like what we're saying, but I, I actually don't know if Gee takes last in place in that, but it'll be, he won't be great. He won't be great. Who, what athlete on the men's
side do you think could like? You're way off. You could be way off on. Corn YA, because we have no idea what to expect of him if he's healthy. She. Never is. Right, like you don't, you never know if he's healthy or not. They're not swimming in any dirty lakes. So that's good for him. It you know, Sam, Sam is he might be like he might have done the least with how fit he is. I almost put him in the Neil Maddox category where like he's fitter than where he finishes almost almost routinely.
And that sounds like a really bad insult. But what I'm saying is I just think he's so much he's and like he's, you know, borderline retired now, but Sam is very, very fit and he just doesn't finish where his fitness can a lot. So I don't know. I could, you know, he could end up being 19th place. I've no idea. I think Jorge, I think Jorge could finish higher, a lot higher than I have him. I think Jorge is capable of top 10. Jorge, we've seen him in one individual competition and he
was trash. I was all behind Jorge last year and he wasn't good. And so he's kind of like, I know, I know Brian had him very high and he's like, this is kind of the prove it year for him. That's what Brian said, right? I think the opposite in a prove it year, if I think you have to prove it for me to rank you higher, you're going to be low. Until you prove that you don't, you can't be low anymore. Does that make? Sense don't reference Brian's
picks. I, I ripped up those, I ripped those up on, on Pedro. Well, I'm just saying no, that, you know, that was his his reasoning for having him. However, where he ever had where he had him was that this is the year that he's going to prove it. If that's the case, I'm I just rank people opposite if I think that way of them, and I think that way of them too. But I think it's possible for him to finish a lot higher. Other than that, I feel pretty solid.
I wouldn't have, I know Jack is not super fit right now, but he was really good at Syndicate last year and I know Jack's going to murder Isabel. I think he's going to be OK on the first one, but Jack's capable of finishing lower just because I know he's not like fitness hasn't been his top priority the last four months, right? Other than that, man, I mean, who do you think? I feel like I've I wouldn't even put here put these names here if
I didn't believe in them. I think I think Fabian Benito probably has the best chance of breaking into the top 10. That's fair. I'm really low on Europeans in American fields until they until until they do it. You know, Europeans typically don't do as well at the games when everybody's all together like I have like all of the best of the world are all together. Europeans usually finish lower than the Americans do relative relatively not like I know Yonkowski is routinely top ten right?
Like I, it's not like all Europeans are bad, but I just, I will not rank Europeans highly if they do high, if they do well in a European competition, it's like annual Akai. Annual Akai had to do two or three competitions against Americans where he did finish better than I like High highly and now I respect Annual Akai. I don't respect Europeans until they prove that they are are they are. Worthy. They're too weak.
Until they're worthy of respect, I'm not going to respect them in a field with a whole bunch of Americans and that might be unfair to them. If I lived in Europe, I might think the other way. I would think wrongly the other way because we go to the games, it's shown through and through that the field is not as deep. Real quick, I need a break. Breaking news. Caleb, we missed Kat's new dating show on Clydesdale so make sure you go check that out after this show or tomorrow morning.
This is crazy Caleb. She has 150 matches on Tinder 150I. Mean that I want to know where she lives. Because it's like if you live in Atlanta and you only have 150 matches, that might be low. But if you live in like, I don't know, Iowa, that's probably good. I I have no idea where she lives. This is a this is a great comment, a great comment. We're talking about the men, the women, I think. It's always a. It's always. Yeah, All right, listen, women.
Complete opposite. Like it's kind of crazy it it really is women completely opposite. Every time Danny Spiegel wins West Coast class or gets top two in West Coast Classic, it means nothing to me until she can do it at the games. No, Caleb, this is not Sevon's show on Sevon that that can take priority. This is not that show. What's that picture? What's Caleb doing? But do you want to go to the
women's field? I I do feel I do like that is that is a great comment, Magnus. The women are like the exact opposite. But I also asked when was the last time a European woman won the games when Tia was not when Tia was competing. Lord doesn't. Count. I'm going to tell you it was freaking eight years ago, the last time Tia didn't win. So like it's it's a easy question to ask.
Technically not. So I'm, I'm so stoked that me and the other Watkins, who we may or may not be related, get to hang out at. The fit one. No, no that. You know what I'm? Talking about Tyler that which is wild. Yeah. No, this is this is Mayhem Watkins best friends with he called him Richard Froning. I remember Rich I. Remember, before I knew you, I had heard about Tyler Watkins? I searched Tyler Watkins and I'm like, oh, this guy, he's looks jacked.
And then I'm like, oh. Wrong one wrong one. Can I trade up for the better Mom? No, so weird thing was so we're we're definitely going to hang out at mayhem. Y'all are going to get to see some footage of that Tyler or this Watkins and I were talking about what we drink like normally he he drink, he likes coffee. He he I guess he runs the Buffalo brew shop that they have there. And I was like, I'm not a coffee guy. I said more of a white monster guy. He goes, he goes. Well, we could.
Probably figure that out for you if we had. To no shit within two hours both of us got reels recommended to us where they were putting white monsters into coffee like a cold brewed coffee. So I will 100% be doing that from the Buffalo Brew Shop this Saturday there. You. Go yeah, I'm with Caleb Monster. I don't know. Back to the women, Alexis Raptis. Yeah, I mean, I think she's in a tier of her own. I don't think we can, you know?
Then we talked a little bit when Fee was on Fee, Abigail, Emily is your next tier. Yep. Why not teach the men's this? I think the other women are better than her. Even with heavy Isabel. Yeah, I mean, I'm not Age was like. 29th in the West Coast last year. I don't think, I don't think it's impossible for her to beat these three. I think she's in the running for the top two. I just would put the other women ahead of her.
Like Paige is very good at being consistently fit throughout a competition with no home runs and no holes, right? She's just kind of the same the whole way. You don't get top two that way. You just don't if you're 6th and everything 5th and everything, there will be two women that are going to be better than you. Top 2 is so hard for Paige Sementa. I, I, I mean she you know, she might prove me wrong, but she's really good at being consistent
all the way through and in semi finals. 6 events, 5 events. That doesn't make you top 215 events. Maybe right, because then you're just testing everything 15 events. It's way different. You can just to Medeiros it all up for sure. But to be top 2 if five event, six event competition, I think it's extremely hard to do if you don't have top threes in the competition. And I just don't see her getting top threes in the competition unless there's an athletic Sprint and there's not. It's fair.
Hayley Adams and 6. Shelby Neil 7th. Is that because she's from the train in Vermont? No, I think Shelby Neal's great. I think Shelby Neal could finish higher than seventh. I think. I think whenever I picked her for the games, she finished like exactly where I thought she was going to finish and everybody else picked her to be a lot higher. So I know people are hyping Shelby Neal. I like Shelby Neal. I want her to finish higher.
I think she's a good person. I don't think all of these women are good people. Let's talk about that, John. There are people that I root for. There are people that I root for. There are people I don't root for. Believe it or not, and maybe not even good people is a bad word. Just I root. I root for certain people and I don't root for other people. But I don't let that conflict with where I rank people. Like every part of me wants Colton to make it through Mayhem.
I think it would be amazing. It would be the first time he beat people on this caliber in a major competition. And I want that with all my heart. I want that. But I I will not put it because I don't think it's going to happen. The same thing I feel with Shelby Neil. I just, I don't put her, I put her in the same category as these women, but she's in the bottom tier of that category. Does that make sense? And.
I think I think she'll do great and I think she'll do good at Isabel. I think she'll get hurt in event 1, the legless rope climb. I actually think she'll be OK. I don't think she'll be bad, but I don't think she'll be good is the thing. There are places where I don't think she'll be good and to be top two, there can't be places that I think you're not going to be good. That's. Fair enough. Claudia glucked on a 9th. Andrea Nisler in 10th.
Christine Colin Brander in 11th. And and Colin Brander, I don't you asked me what name could be like a lot worse or a lot. I I think we don't know. Yeah, we don't know. Looked like she was doing some snatch waves and training that she posted. She looked strong. She always looks strong. Yeah, like I. Think she's going to murder her back was broken or whatever. She was not. Yeah, but like, her back was screwed up and she still went to the games.
True, true. Yeah. I mean, Colin Renner is the biggest variety on here. I think she could finish higher. I think she could finish lower. I literally have no idea. I mean, it's not going to be a good start. She was not the runner. I can't imagine it's gotten too much better so. Right. I mean, he has major holes and that's why she is where she is. Just like, Gee, you know, I think she'll have home runs and I think she'll be really bad in places and that equals middle of the pack.
Yeah, Hannah Black. Same thing. I mean like if Hannah Black I I I get people think highly of her. She she didn't even beat Caitlin Sanders at TFX. Like, like, like her fitness. I don't think highly of her fitness. I know she I know she's so strong and it's so awesome, right? Like, I get it. Wow, she can pick up heavy circles. I understand that. That's cool. Of all people, you appreciate that. It doesn't mean anything about your fitness.
And only one fifth, one 6th of this is lifting heavy circles. And I get it. It's probably an event win. Cool, until Hannah Black shows me that she can do something fitness wise against other fit people. Like I can't think very highly of her in a fitness competition. I think I would as I think through it. I think Lindsay Lane's probably underrated. I think Lindsay Lane probably could be around 10th place. I know she's going to be really good at the run.
I know she's going to be really good at the legless rope climb one. Isabelle's not going to be great for her. Probably her worst event. But I know there's events that I know Lindsay's going to crush And and I say like top five, right, because obviously Abby Doe, Memphis Agape like these women are different tiers, right? But top five, I think Lindsay Lane, I think Lindsay Lane will steal more points from the top five athletes than Hannah Blackwill because Hannah Black
is stealing points in one event. That's it. And until Hannah Black shows me that she can be fitter, you know, I can't, I don't, I can't think very highly of her. I just can't, you know, And, and, and obviously she can prove me wrong, but that's how I feel about her. Then we have Paige powers down there in 18th. Is there any chance she does not finish last two months postpartum? Yeah, somebody gets hurt. I think it's crazy that she's going to be doing.
It is wild. And it's like there's no hate on it. It's just like we're we're, you got to call it as you call it. Like I've been like she's been posting her training videos and it's just like you're not ready. I mean like, hats off to her for doing it. That's why there's only 5 events, because she couldn't handle 6. This changed it. Hey, Nisler could come in here and screw this whole thing up for you. I think it's, I think she's going to be like a like a Taylor Williamson at Rogue.
Where? Oh, we think where Think she's going to be better than two. 1000 it's like what you posted, like we don't know, like she's the most unknown. And people think, I think people get it twisted. I with team athletes. I know Taylor Williamson and Andrew Nessler are probably the fittest women. Team athletes, like routine, like routine team athletes, like, like career team athletes. Yeah, that, that people think about. And she's a monster. Don't get me wrong. She is.
Taylor's a monster. It's not individual. If they were good and like and like I, I and I, she's good enough to be an individual athlete. I don't think she's good enough to be a perennial Games athlete individually. And it's just different. It's very, very different as and I, I, I'm always thinking low about low on, I think lower of team athletes. I had to find that one. I just do in individual competitions. I mean, Andrea Nestler probably
is the best one too. Like it's not like she is super fit now. I will. Say this we're we're a few years removed, but like he's scoring the COVID games like out of the the the the remote portion of the of the COVID games, she should have qualified the only the and Taylor. Dude, she can make the game. No, no, no, no. I'd say Andrea's fitter than Taylor is, but she can make the games. I'm not saying that. No, she's individual games fit.
That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying not every year, like it's like some years make it, some years don't. And you know, how many times has Manning made the games? You know, I think Shelby's like two years in a row now, right? Like I think, you know, Hayley Adams, obviously Hayley Adams, Paige Shimenza makes it every freaking year. Emily Rolfe was third place last year. Abigail Dolman makes it every year. Visa gaffe is she has she has good years and bad years.
I get V but all of these women ahead of her. Claudia Glock was a rookie, but I think she's going to be there to stay. All of these people ahead of her make the games almost every single year. I I just think less of team athletes because I think you would have been individual if you were good enough. Like from like from the jump. From the jump individual I get like you might like, yeah, I've gotten there eventually. But you weren't and that's why you went team.
And then you think you're good enough and then you go try and it's way harder than you think. And Andrea. That case is the least amount for Andrea, but it still applies like I just. Then it's a just it's a different competition. You saw it with Tim Paulson, like he should have been great on proven when he when he joined that two years ago and it was way different. He he couldn't pace pull ups like he was when they did
synchro pull ups. He was getting left behind and he's like holy crap, you guys are moving fast was because they don't do a ton of volume. Just a lot of turnover. Right. Like it's it's fast, it's more interval style. They're good at everything. You can't be bad at anything and I get you got to get lucky in one semi final and like it's nothing that was programmed bad for you it. Will yeah. Mayhem Classic Saturday starts at 3:00 PM Central time.
They have the live stream links up on the CrossFit Mayhem web or YouTube channel, so check those out. Sean Woodland doing the coverage. It sounds like Rich and Angela will be doing some like broadcast some some broadcast. Not sure exactly how much, but it does sound like they'll be on there a little bit. I hope they. Actually wear the get up that. They I hope so too, the shorts included. Yeah, that'd be good. Again, I will be there. Tyler do a workout will be there I heard kill Taylor.
It's going to happen sometime Friday. At some point we're going to find out if they do it on Friday, I'm going to be so pissed. It sounds like Saturday, if they do it, it's going to be in the morning like they're doing like spectator fan workouts early in the morning. So I mean, it's, it sounds like there's going to be people stuff going on all day long and then the competition actually starts at 3, so. Get it down as fast as I can go. How fast can that that car go?
Blind rankings. You guys ready for some blind rankings this? Week, I'm so ready. We'll see if you guys can get it right. This week the topic is semi final movements. Lots of talk about not having squats in the semi finals for age group. Not having squats in world fitness project online qualifier So what movements ranking these five movements what what should be in a semi final qualifier for say. Oh, OK, this isn't what is in. This is what should be. What should be so mandatory?
What should you be testing for people to qualify for the? I mean, it's not the top five list, but it's you're going to rank the five items that I have. So what, John, what's the number one movement that you're like? You have to test it to go to the games. I think so, yeah. It's not going to be on the list. Oh, no, I think it's, I think it's going to be on the list. Yeah, I I think so. It's not been on any other list so far. That's the difference, Tyler.
We know what we're doing, right? Yeah, it's fair. All right, first one, the rope climb. I think it's important. How important. Yeah. I'm thinking through it. There's dude, there's so much other pulling you could do that I would rather see. Like. Any of the bar pulling. I disagree. I think it's the second most important pulling movement. How can you say it? What do you mean? For games athletes to test Games athletes, because that's what
you're doing. You're getting people to the Games, the biggest people in the world. Everybody can do pull ups. Everybody can do chest the bar. Everybody can do 50 toes the bar in a row to do 20 rope climbs without stopping. Not everybody can do that. I think ring muscle UPS is the most important. I think rope climbs are the second most important. That being said, you rank it at a. 3. I'll go 3 hell in it. I mean, do you get my match now? You're testing people to go to the games.
It's important. It feels a little niche to me. It is it? I understand that. We tested a lot. Do you have like a blank one over top of it? But I would think of it like you're testing, pulling. There we go. You know what I mean? Yeah. And it's one of the most fatiguing pulling things you can do. I like like a hand over hand sled pull with a rope. I think that that's more like. Functional. I disagree. Why? I disagree. I disagree. What if you got to get up
somewhere? When, When in the world have you ever had? Oh no, I can't get up this without a rope? Oh, there's a rope here. OK, OK, but if it happened, it would save your life. When when do you got to pull something with a sled? You just go over there, pick it up and move it that way Have. You ever had to pull like a a like a four by four out of a ditch or anything like on a farm? Yeah, I pick it up. The hand over hand method on a farm way more than I've. Ever seen?
I think you used the hand over hand method just more than I do, Period. OK, I I, I. Damn right I disagree all. Right, you guys got rope climbs next one, the ring muscle up John's favorite pull. I would say 2. 2. Two OK. It would be cool if they had if if it was also like the context because like Max set versus like your ability to do repeated sets like sets of 10 or something. I think repeated sets are more important. I think so too. All right. John's two favorite pull in
motions, or two in three. That's just. Going to have pulling. Yes. You've kind of backed us into. A GHD sit ups. Yeah, I don't think this is that important. Yeah. OK, good. We're good. We're on. The group 5, it's cool. I like GHD, Yeah, I like GHD sit ups, but it's not. They don't need to be in there. You can do it with other stuff. One hundreds. Like the UPS? Or toasted box.
It's definitely the UPS toes to bar, but I mean like even like if you do a front squat within like this is a little different, but a handstand walk, you're still testing your core. You're not testing the, you know, the broad motion, but it's still testing the same source. Your hip flexor is being real tight, yeah. One in four left, next one the handstand walk. 4/4 I do. We're either going to love it or hate it. This is another thing that.
Thanks man, this is another. I don't know what's going on today. I love all kinds of technical issues. I don't know why we test it so much. We do test it a lot, right? And you talk about functional movement. This is 0. None. You're never going to need to walk on your. Hands. Matter of fact, if you whip this out of the party everybody's going to think you're a douche. So it's anti functional. Dude, Hey, yeah, that guy that got stuck in The Cave upside down in The Cave.
Like if that guy could handstand walk, he might could have gotten out of there. I'm just saying. Fair enough. Last one, what do we think it is? I pray to God it's squatter deadlift or something that we're, let's say bench press. What's the? Most functional thing that's ever been programmed. I. Think a squatter deadlift. Definitely not. Shuttle run. Hey. I'm going to take this as running. Yeah. That's how I'm online. It's a semi final, John. In a semi final it.
I wouldn't yeah, but most semi finals you just run. This is this is the online semi final. Oh, it's the online. Semi finals. I don't hate it dude you need to test running. It just sucks because it's so short. Now the 15 in back is like. I wish they could make it like 50 in back. Me too. 50 foot segments. I know that'd be really hard for people, but I don't hate it like like the functionality of it. I get like, you know what I
mean? I, I'm, I'm with you, It's it's lame, but it's I, you know, it's not. I don't think it's incorrect. I would argue that like the World Fitness project where they had the 20 minute AMRAP with the shuttle runs and the burpees and the rowing, like I really like to John's point, it's not for every gym goer, A50 foot segment where you could just have it down the line.
Like if you can't find a 50 foot stretch as a athlete who's trying to compete at the top 30 athletes in the world, you probably need to do something like. Probably need to find. Actually, if it's like burpees and yeah. Because you put something. Where you need a barbell on the. Other you put the camera facing down the 50 foot stretch like. To a track, yeah. I mean, you can take it anywhere, right? Like all you need is 50 feet. It's not that far.
At least 50 feet. It feels like you're running a little bit. Even 25 feet, though, it was just like. You're just turning the whole time, yeah. You know, I do much better on shuttle run events versus running events. I did appreciate it though, not having to bend over to touch the line every time. See, I like, I like I like that part, though, because it puts it puts back fatigue on you. All of that stuff makes running now thinking it makes me better.
I. Dare you to try to do that qualifier workout with the three-point touch like your back would literally just explode. That quarterfinals workout with the wall balls and I think shuttle runs and. From two years ago. Or three years ago. Three years ago. And Jaycee, but everybody miscounted it, yeah. It was so I couldn't bend over. I hurt so bad. The 100, the 100 shuttle runs, is that that the one? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, it was so bad. Yeah, I mean, I watched Benoit Boulanger do it and he did like a little Figure 8 run. I tried to do that but I don't know. I mean, I would have just, I would have pivoted, you know, like the like a, you know, a wide receiver would, but I just wouldn't touch the ground. Yeah, it was different. I don't know. So there you go. Last one last topic, a little bit faster this today than last week. We're making up. We are. Not a 2 1/2 hour slugfest.
Tickets. CrossFit Games. All those little blue dots that you see up there in the upper right are sold. Tickets. Are not sold tickets. Those are totally available for you. The ones in the blue, all the all of those guys. Yes, yes. Up for grabs, Get them now while they last. Now I've made this mistake in the past. We do not need to buy tickets, correct? John's asking. I mean, you can if you want, but
you do not need. To guys, last year I bought a ticket because I thought we had to have tickets to go. And then, you know, as media, you just go and they have a spot for you. And I, we spent like hundreds of dollars on this ticket and, and I didn't need it. It's still like nothing compared to the amount of you bought spent on shirts, but hey, odd purple shirts, They're on the Etsy. So go check those, yes Audrey, if you want a Dre Y Barbell shirt, I could sell you one
tomorrow. She's coming to my gym tomorrow morning, uh. Oh. Careful now, those are also a hot commodity. Just tell me what size you want girl. What size and color? Everything to choose from What? Do you? What do you make of what do you make of tickets not selling? I I think they will. I think there's a a multitude of issues happening on like at the
same time. I I don't put a whole lot of stock in it. It felt a little weird to me Then when last year when they were like sold out immediately I was like, that sounds like bullshit. Maybe, but I feel like other previous years it has been the same. I mean, I, I will say though, last year or even previous years, like you could, you could look and see like what tickets were available during the pre
sale. Like when the affiliates have the option, like the the Reliant club, I think is what they're still calling it, where you know, you got early access, like those tickets are get eaten away. Like affiliates were taking advantage of those sales. I don't think it's the case this. Year. Like obviously when you look at
the. At the at the sales, what do you think the issue is I. Think it's the location like Albany is not easy to get to. There's 28 airports that go into Albany. So you're probably doing some type of connecting flight. Like Nashville is a direct to Albany, but it only goes there Mondays and Fridays and it's probably 1 flight, right? So like, if I want to get into Albany, I'm not going to leave. On it is. Like, Monday's too early. Friday's too late.
OK, So I got to go fly through some other place, right? You're forced, right? And it's a small airport. If you fly somewhere else, you got to drive into it. I've not heard one thing great about Albany, like things to do, right? At least like Fort Worth, it was like, go to the stockyard. It's like there's all kinds of cool stuff to do while you're there. You'll melt your face off. It's so hot. But like. The stockyards work cool. The kind of a building. In Albany.
Yeah, it's pretty. It's it's cool looking. Is it? Are we going to run that back? Do you think we we run the capital of it? Again, the Albany Capital. Every time we go to a new city, run it back. A new capital, Yeah, Yeah, we're just going to go to every capital. They have steps. CrossFit Games 2075 in Hawaii. I bet a lot of tickets out of that one. Yeah, well, and that's the thing, it's been like, so we don't like, it's Albany, OK. Yeah, like we knew the visual of
what Fort Worth would look like. Like it was, it was pretty cool to look at as far as the facility goes. And then like, you know, the the area surrounding it. That was cool. Fort Worth's also easy as hell to get to. Madison, same thing. Like Madison wasn't super easy to get to. No. And I think there was some reservation that first year, but I think it right. I think going from Carson to Madison people gave it the benefit of the doubt like. Oh.
Yeah, this is going to be, we're going to take this chance and like we'll see what it's like. And then it turned out to be a great location. Right with with them, like you knew you were still going to have the camp vibes too. With Albany, we don't have the camp anymore. That was sort of ruined with Fort Worth. We don't like, we don't know what the facility looks like. We don't know what it's going to feel like. You CrossFit needs to build the vision of what you're going to
feel like when you're there. Why should I come there? Everybody right now just says Albany, that's weird place to go. You have to rewrite that. So if you're on their marketing team, like, you have to start convincing us that this is a good idea. It's three days. It's always historically been four or more, right. OK. Tickets are 340, I think was the cheapest after after fees. Yeah, 700 per ticket. So it's hard to get to. You got to be in a hotel that I mean, I'm sure there's some
around there. And the ticket like it's not a cheap thing to do. And nobody's saying let's go to Albany. I've I've said that a lot. I. Think it's. Cool, it's the capital. We should do a blind ranking show of places where the game should go, where you where you would like the games to be. I think that'd be cool. What do you think? It would sell less in Europe? Yeah, you do like. Not in, not so, not in the European base from the American. Base.
I'm just just in totality. No, I think Europe would sell out. Yeah, probably sell out. I I'm just, if you know who's buying it, you know, whoever that is, do you think that would influence moving it? I think. It's going to be there anyway in the next couple of years. Regardless, I think, I think if B Sport buys it, I think they're going to move it. If it goes to France, like if the games, if the games are in France, can we bike up one of the mountains at the Tour de
France? Can we can we rent a couple bikes and just and me and you go do it. You're just I, I know them all. We can pick the one that's hardest or closest I would have. It is on my bucket list so badly. Yes, John, we, we can do whatever you want. Spin, spin. Do you want to come with this? Yeah. Do you bike spin? He's like, sure. I bought a road bike back before I found a CrossFit and I was out of shape, overweight and was really really bad at it.
Did you have your, did you have like a cycling kit and all that? I did and then I sucked. I, I went, I took it to, I met up with a buddy, a Co worker that had a had a bike. I was like, yeah, we'll go riding. And I can't remember how far it was. It wasn't far. And we got to a hill and like I was already like struggling to keep up with them. Like I was doing it, but I was like, bro, this is getting hard. And then the hill hits. I was like. I'm out. He was gone.
I was like, I'm out and I made it like 90% of the hill and he had already gone down, down, back and then back up the hill. I was like, I'm just gonna turn around and hang out with you and. Yeah, let's just like we usually do, accept that it's going to be a journey. And the day before the games we're going to go up Mountain Lawn too, and it's going to be, it's going to be awesome. Or AA Hess, that's a good one too. Just whichever 1, whichever 1 you know we're closest to.
But like, it would be a lifelong dream of mine that we could fulfill. We're all about making dreams come true. Here, Do you guys have any dreams? Like if the games go somewhere for us to do something? We could do the Grand Canyon in a day, you know, that would be like a hard, hard hike. You know, if they went to Arizona. Come on, give me something. Come on, how about we all pick something and then the one that it's closest to we do? I still wish they'd come to Nashville.
Would be a lot better. You just don't want to go anywhere, you just want to stay home. Exactly. I see. I see. I definitely don't want to go. I can tell you what, if Nashville was the location of the 25 games, that little picture up there would not look like it is because people still want to just go to Nashville. Yeah, Nashville. Nashville. In the sea alone would sell it out, yeah. Yeah, you're right here. I don't disagree.
Nashville would be cool. Yeah, I mean, it would just be be awesome and I just don't, I said it last, but I don't, I don't think the arena feel is what we want. No, it's not. You said this on. No, we're not big enough. We won a tennis, a tennis stadium. A tennis stadium's the perfect
feel. I mean, I'm OK with like the Colosseum, how we had, how it was in Madison where like you go inside, you do those types of events, but having something like North Park, how it's outside, you enjoy that. Like it was a festival, feel like you could fit anything if you want. You just had to buy a ticket. It's $100 and you can go see half the events. There's something about the finding the fittest on Earth, and CrossFit in general feels like it has to be half outside.
I agree. Functional fitness in real life occurs outside. If you're not doing that, it feels wrong and like, yeah, we're doing CrossFit. Even if you're like lifting weights and stuff, yeah, it's still yeah. We're doing CrossFit and this, the CrossFit Games, is about finding the fittest on Earth. It's not just about CrossFit. You have to get outside. Yeah, Friday, even if you're just doing a CrossFit workout like Friday Night Lights when it was out in Carson and it's not.
It's just lifting weights and doing pull ups. But like Rich doing 21159 the way he did. Like like there's there's so many good memories, Vance being outside. I mean, you're thinking of the long grandiose ones. I'm thinking of just regular ones. Freaking legless. The first time that came out was outside that moment when Jordan Troy and raises his hands and then he gets beat by Rich and Marcus Hedren. Like all that's outside, too. Imagine having all of the workouts.
Inside. In No, in the tennis stadium, it wouldn't have had the same appeal. No. You had you still had a split of the soccer field and doing all that stuff or going to the track. No, you need just different big use. Period. Right and. Some people are better in the gym, some people are better outside, some people are better on a football field. Like I guess.
Yeah, and I know like splitting the games off, I mean there's sounds like some people really like that, but they got to like, you know, the competition was on them etcetera. I think it makes sense to have it a festival feel with everybody there, John. She ain't, she ain't trying to do that. I've already talked to her in like she's lying through her teeth right now. She goes and what's Abby going to do? And I'm like, you know, I got to deal with that. Get lost. Kick rocks, kid.
But like now that we have Pitt doing the teenagers and legends doing that, the masters and and Wheel one doing the adaptives, why not just coordinate where they actually run their event at that festival, right? Like CrossFit can't run everything, but if you have the teams in place to run the events for your group, could you bring it back together right so. The Yeah. 100%. Right.
So you still have a legends team and you have their team focused on doing everything for the masters divisions Pit. Teams those meetings would look like they sit down Dave's like OK we have this time slot this time slot this time slot teens you get you can have this slot and this slot or whatever you guys need to work this out this time is not dedicated to the elite individuals or elite teams go figure it out do. What you want? Right.
Yeah. And you still do it like it was what, in 23 where it was like majority like Tuesday, Wednesday, half a Thursday was age group adaptive and then Thursday you kind of had overlap. And then Friday, Saturday, Sunday was just dedicated to the individuals and teams like, and you have those different groups work on it. I just feel like that is what brings it back together. The only issue there would be revenue split. What if they did it within a
rent? I don't think they're operating it from it. I don't think you know what I'm saying though. Do you really think that the Masters games are making money? No, but what I'm saying is it's like, how's that that debates going to be terrible to have to sit through is like, you know, pitting is going to be like, well, I mean like what our what's our percentage and. They get a budget just like the other. The other always do. Right, right. I. Mean, I don't think it's.
I mean, you're basically working for CrossFit at that point. Yeah, you give them, you give them money and they allocate how they how they feel. I think they should partner up with like a Renaissance fair and do it there. Can you imagine 'cause? That's my dream. Think about it, think about it, think about it. We just have this thing here and a bunch of people dressed up in, you know, whatever are just around eating big old legs and just walking around a bunch of unhealthy people who like to
pretend. Drinking Mead. Get to watch like the fittest athletes in the world and get inspired, yeah. There's there's the Renaissance Fair in Nashville, all of May. There's a castle. Perfect timing right off the highway. I don't I don't want to didn't want to say this, but the Renaissance Fair in Houston is like the second biggest in all of America and it's it's it's intense.
We went once we didn't dress up and we got like mean mugged because we were one of the only people not like they take it serious. There was a there was a winch that you threw like apples at right to duck dunk her and she told me that I was on steroids. And then I. Dunked her John misunderstands the assignment, dresses up as Shrek. I don't have to. I don't have to dress up for that. I just put on that. I just put on that outfit.
I look just like. This is not Albany, but I wanted to wrap up the show with this story if you guys have been following along. Michael Miley. This is my favorite story. This this dude, this is crazy. If you guys were, I guess back in January, the MBS Turkey Challenge ended up not paying out the podium. What? Yeah. It was also paired with reps ahead where they had the little tournament thing there in the like classroom setting thing that looked like Hillary was there.
Brian Friend obviously was there. Well since then he shut down MBS CrossFit and now he was just charged with 22 counts of pet insurance fraud. It sounds like he basically created a fake veterinary clinic website and then started just filing fake claims to three of these companies. Got away with $80,000 with Healthy Paws. There he is, right there. Hey, don't Natpet's not insured. No, he was using that pet and
filing claims on that. The dude faces up to 50 years if convicted and gets the maximum sentence, which the news report basically said that that's not likely. But dude, he was. He was the CEO owner of Renovo, which was the main sponsor of reps ahead. It is wild. Dude, this this, but I can't remember which. Like it's like it's not a documentary, but it's like a dramatization of like it.
It overlaps amazing because it's like this gay serial killer and he like fakes all these people out and. What? What is this? I can't remember what the like what the the show is called. But gay serial killer? He's a gay he, he is gay. He's a serial killer. Why doesn't him being gay have to do anything with it? It's just like a feature. It's a main feature of the show. OK, but anyway. Is serial killer also a main feature? Why can you just call him a gay guy?
It describes it better if I just say serial killer. You're going to be Dumber, but anyway. Dahmer was gay. Dahmer was a gay serial killer. That would have described it perfectly. No, this dude. Anyway, John, you're throwing me off the. Rails, I'm sorry. Anyway, he, he embezzles all this money and he does all this stuff, extorts people and it's like, this is like on that
level. Can you imagine like pet fraud, who's ever committed pet fraud, pet insurance fraud number one and then takes, takes credit card, puts credit cards in other people's names, I heard. That somebody messaged me about that. Yeah, $500,000 loan that you just. Bounce on I want to who this RYTYI don't know who righty RYTY funding is that gave this dude a loan first. Of all, when I read that I was
like that sounds sketchy. Who just like I want to know how he got the loan backed because you have to prove some sort of like you have he personally guaranteed the $500,000 loan like but what assets were backing a $500,000 loan that's. Obviously, $80,000 of pet insurance money. Right. You can't just walk into a bank and be like, hey, I want $500,000. They're like, OK, no, like they're so like, if this goes way deeper, I'm not going to be surprised. Like this is one of the it's not cool.
It freaking sucks but it's like it's cool in the Netflix serial killer documentary type of things. Like gay serial killer. Gay serial killer documentary. I mean, it's it. I get, you know, a lot of people like to watch that stuff. It's addicting. It's hard. Listen the Dahmer, I ate up the Dahmer series. Not like him eating people but like I was watching it I could not get. Off ate up the other dudes. Like like like I watch all 10 episodes like a two days. Like I get it, people like to
watch that stuff. You're saying y'all thought this dude was sketchy? They couldn't didn't know how you just had a bad feeling about him. Turns out he is sketchy and now you're enjoying for me. What you thought? Can I talk about that SMID? Can I talk about that? Yeah. Do you want you want? You want me to talk about it instead? Just like no. I was. Months ago. Yeah, I was suspicious about this. They were, they didn't like them and I didn't really didn't know
what was happening. I didn't know I was like. I don't understand why. You're I was like, I don't really care. They're this guy. They don't like he's in reps ahead. They think he's weird, Ben. Texts me and says, hey, do you know how to look into non non profit orgs? And I was like, yeah, 'cause like I'm an accountant. So like I've done my fair share doing that. So we start looking into like Colorado Secretary of State and
all these different things. And I was, I found like 18 different LLCS and I was like, and then not. So it's like if you have a bunch of LLCS, it's not really a big deal, but it's when you switch the names of them, they're all kind of name like something similar. And then like the turnover on the, the accounts are all like super quick. That does feel that something's going. That's so. Red herring. Is yeah, yeah, yeah. Or not red. Herring.
It was like a smoking gun. We need CrossFit, Elon Musk to investigate what's going on here, because that's because we. Weren't we talking about like doing a little bit of stuff with reps ahead at that time and we were kind of flirting with that idea. We weren't flirting with us doing it. We were just talk. We knew of these people. Yeah, we. Hadn't done like Hitler was doing it. We're, you know, we're. We were investigating.
Doing it right, Yeah, Yeah. And so it's like, yeah, Spin was doing his homework and I was like, no, something weird is going on here. So yeah, this one was like, this was a big like, yeah, it. Got ladies and gentlemen, we got, Yeah. Yeah, it was just weird because like I didn't understand how reps the head because Renovo was the main sponsor, right? And they're paying out 10, twenty, $30,000 of prize money at these things, plus flying people all over the place to compete.
They're covering all their logic, their airfare, they're flying, you know, Brian and Bella in PC in Chad was flown in like they were flying tons of people for all this stuff. And I was like, what the heck is Renovo? And like, you know, they're not getting money back. They're live. Streaming with a ton of money, man, Just giving money to everybody left and right. I don't know how they got money, but they just have a ton. Kind of like some other company that's doing some fitness thing.
I don't, I don't same thing. But it was like, what else? Go ahead. It was just like how is this like what is the end game? Like how much money do you have? Like why would this company be doing it? I didn't understand all the ownership. Prison. Stuff It sounds like the Renovo guy wanted to buy into Repsat. I don't think they ever did, but yeah, it's like basically it was built on a House of Cards and it all failed like. Fell in the House of Cards.
And like, yeah, to Tyler's point, it's like, it's great being right. Like you just knew it. I couldn't. Like I didn't have enough to be able to say like there's something sketchy going on from a public, like from a writing, from writing something like an article at that time. But ever since January, where they didn't, he should. Have wrote it out Oh, you should have wrote an article dude, Renovo guy. I don't know why you sketched it, but he's he's.
Was it Christmas or something? You and I were on the phone. I was like at a gas station and you like you had just found out. Like when, when, when this originally all started to fall apart. You had found out and you were on the phone. And I like I hadn't been that excited in so long. He was telling me about it.
It was amazing. I really feel bad for the reps ahead dude, because from what I understand, like he's tried to take care of the people that he they were, they were, they were due out to. And I, you know, I think he just got it sucks because like even in my experience with heat one, like people will blow you up and make you think like, Oh, you know, you definitely got a bad a great thing going.
And then they'll they'll act like they're going to give you all the stuff and then they'll like just like that, it'll all your promises will just melt away. And this guy was in deep with that and it fuck, it just fucking blows. Like I feel really bad for that dude. Is this idea like has some good qualities to it? It can't. Come come out like he can't get in trouble for it though, right? Just the Renovo. No like this.
This big $500,000 loan was through this New U Nutrition, New U Crew Nutrition and Fitness LLC. It had nothing to do with Reps Ahead. My understanding is that the Renovo got a smile and, you know, wanted to buy into reps ahead, but it never ended up actually happening, which is probably thankful for. I can't remember what the guy's name is. Like, he dodged a bullet because he probably would have been implicated in a lot of this stuff.
Like, yeah, you know, who knows if they would have gone after anything that that company had or what he had had had. So as far as I know, everybody's been paid that worked for him at least, or competed. Yeah, I have. I have, you know, they they're a huge sponsor for Wadapalooza. Like I don't know how that if that's done. Weren't there rumors? Isn't weren't there rumors about
a doc that they paid for? I had heard something, but I have not gotten any got anything more clarification on it or, or how that worked? Yeah, Phil. Phil is the guy he brought kipping a reel out there. I'm pretty sure Hitler got paid. I'm pretty sure everybody got paid. It's just. Out of pocket. Bill had to cover it right because he had made promises and this Michael dude left him high and dry. So crazy story. Check it out if you haven't already. Dudes, I wish we had a documentary on it.
I mean it's. It would be one that, if you did, could follow up like it's. It was not so great to tell it, though. Hiller. Hiller, go go do that. Yeah. Sounds like there's a documentary coming out tomorrow. On Hopper. On Hoppers, is that coming? Out hoppers out now is. It No, no, no. I think like day in the life. I think you did a short video. Yeah, I think there's an hour long. Video I was watching. Oh, if it's an hour, then yeah, that's a long time. It's going out sometime.
It might be out, I don't know, maybe, maybe not. Either way, Mayhem Classic. This Saturday the 1st 4 athletes, two men, two women will get punched their ticket to the CrossFit Games. John thinks it's going to be Hatfield, Hopper, Raptis and Sigafi. We'll see how close he is. I will be there. If you're there in Mayhem, come say hi. Tyler may or may not be. If he can drive that far and his car makes, it doesn't fall apart.
I'll be there. Real quick, who, who do you guys think for your, your, if you had to pick you too? I've spent. I know you said, I know you said Hopper and Hatfield on Peter's show. Yeah, I'm gonna watch that. Go watch that. Then Paige Samenza and wrapped this. Oh wow. Taking a stab at Paige. OK, you didn't really fight for very hard in this show. What Paige? Yeah.
I don't think it's guaranteed. Like, again, I think that second spot for the women, I think all of those women are going to have a bad event. Right. Who has? Who has the worst like Emily Rolf is going to have the worst. Snatch, Heavy, Isabel. But like if it's 5th place it's not bad enough. So good I don't think. I mean, she took 29th at the. Well, I'm I'm saying like like but that for her to make top 2 like if it's 8th place then you know right like.
Yeah, so like again, like if she takes 12th or 13th place and Phi takes 10th place and Domit takes 8th place, like where they where they flip and have their own bad events later, how does that shake out? I don't know. Like I think Paige has the best chance of being the most consistent. See, like, you know where I I think Phi, I think that's Phi. Maybe.
I mean, if she's, if she is as strong, getting as strong as she says she does and feels confident in Isabel, then I, yeah, I, I think she is definitely needs to. Be if not I'm I'm blaming Dowling for that pick. All right, confirmed with them. All right, go ahead, Tyler, you. Alexis and Delman. OK. And then easy crowd fix there. The men's side, it's tough, dude. It's I, I'm going to go Austin. The other one it that that second pick is so hard like I
want to say. Colton, I want to say hop. It could be. It could be any five of them. I know no other way. It's talking about Roman. Roman absolutely could get one of these two. He absolutely can. I no, it could be any of them. I think the second spot for the women and the both the spots for the men are in the same boat where it could be any of these five people. I'll tell you what TuneIn on Saturday on Spin's Stories and I'll take a look at all the
athletes. I'll walk through the the venue and I'll be like. There, there, there you go. That's your news. As he looks up at Jason, he'll be like, yeah, I forgot. I forgot the angle of my head when I looked at you. And that's a yeah, you know, he's the guy. Spin. Are we doing? Are we doing spin stream? Spin cast. No, because I'll be there. It's a little hard to do it while I'm there. All right. So I guess I'm on with Seven, then I guess me and Seven are doing that thing.
Yeah. But I, I mean, yes, but I don't know how you'll do. I don't know what the schedule will be. I've heard it's to be quick turnarounds on all of them. That's why I think it's still 6 events. I still think it's 3:00 and 3:00 because I just don't think. I would like. I would like 5. Hours for the for that the run is going to take. I think Hepner did it in 20 minutes. So time cap is at most 30 at most so. I think Time Gap's 25 on that
one. Yeah, I don't. OK, 25 or 30, that's still an hour. You could probably run all 20 at once. Isabel kind of sucks that that Hatfield got to do it already. What do you mean? Well, because he's there, I know he's there. It's like that's a little bit of an advantage. Hepner did it, not Hatfield. Hepner. Did it. Hepner did it. So they wouldn't let that that's too much like they wouldn't, they wouldn't let. That the Mayhem podcast, they're, they don't even know
where they're running. It's like Roman's, like Roman's been asking like questions constantly. And I guess apparently like we're not telling you. He just goes. People that are there don't know where they're going to like the course so. It's a mystery. To everyone, yeah. So yeah, I again like Isabel, does not take long unless you unless you do, even if you do 5 or 4.
Heats about a 10 minute cap. Yeah, so like that's at most an hour and a half and you got even if you did 2 heats and it took two hours for the first event, you still got time to do another one. Like I really think it's going to be like a big one for 20 minutes, 20 minutes or 3030. And then the women start right back up and do heavy Isabel, you get a 30 minute break, right? And now we're we're 2 1/2, three hours in. You got 2 hours to do another
event. Like, it just doesn't make sense that they'd only do 2 events in five hours if they're trying to be a fast, quick turn around. Yeah. Right. Yeah, we'll be there a good time. Well I'll be on whoever's doing it something if if y'all decide to go live after the after the event. So we do like 1 nightly. Or something. We may do something after the after the night, at least after Saturday. I'll try to make myself available. Sounds good. See what I can fit in my
schedule, you know? Yeah, in between all your other shows. All right, guys, we'll see you guys next week. Like subscribe, follow, do all that stuff, leave comments. We'll answer those next week. I apologize to absolutely nobody.
