#82 - Why the all-male Brit Awards nomination category isn't sexist

The recent announcement of the all-male nominations for the Brit Awards Artist of the Year has sent some feminist in a spiral claiming lack of representation. As has become routine for certain sections of the media, this has sparked a debate on gender-neutral awards and whether or not this is a step backwards for feminism.

Instead of jumping on the tabloid headline bandwagon, I take a step back to look at at some of the reasons behind the all men nominationss, considering the other category nominations, listening habits of the population and the wider context of what could drive males to have swept the floor for Artist of the Year.
