528 – Black Eyed, Please

Hi, everybody. This is the Simpson show. I'm Robbie with my c Matt. And we are here to talk about the Simpsons from the beginning. Matt. How are you? Well, Robbie, I was doing pretty well until I watched this episode, and then well... Yeah. Just 1 to end this day forever. I just wanted to get... I wanna get this recording over. I begged Matt to move up our recording. Because I needed to get it done with.

And a lot of time we joke at being over an episode where we say, oh, I was doing pretty good until I watched this episode. I genuinely... No. This truth this week. This week, I genuinely was doing pretty good. I'm having I'm... I'm celebrating my birthday this weekend. I'm very excited about it. And then I watched this episode, and it legitimately made me feel bad. It legitimately made me feel worse, and I will feel app better as soon as I'm done talking about it.

pretty pretty standard. They're Simpsons characters doing this episode, which is roll their eyes at jokes that the writers wrote. Yeah. I guess. Fine. At least we have the the Bill Clinton couch gag. We're gonna... Let, yes. But there's a Bill Clinton, another bill Clinton couch couch gag. I I guess... I don't know I don't know the deal they I had with bill clinton because he still does them occasionally. I don't know if they just go, hey, Bill. You wanna do 1 this season? Or something like that. I don't know. But this 1 is is, like, basically thirties Gangster Noir story,

their homer bart Maggie, Not Maggie. Homer Marge, barton and Lisa are all armed and ready to fight in like, a showdown, and then Maggie turns on light, and everyone is back to normal, but then maggie fires off a Tommy gun. I think it's a fun couch gag. I also am wondering why like, this happens episode doesn't start until 2 minutes in. 2 minutes of full length intro, full length intro matt, and then a very long couch gag. Mh.

I don't... Maybe it's better because then I would have to watch more episode, which I desperately don't want because I hate every moment of this episode. So maybe it's good that there's more intro and couch guy? I suppose. I mean, we're gonna get into this more, for sure. My biggest problem is is you have 2 a plots and neither of them get enough time to actually be worthwhile. I really did not like that aspect of it. I think the time is a part of it meant. But I

don't think the time would fix it. I don't think if you dedicated more time to either these episodes when make it better. That's not my main problem with these episodes. It's not the amount of time they get. Yes, They definitely need more development. Don't get me wrong. Both of them need way more development, but that's not my main issue. Oh, that's what. I hope your main issue is the terrible as of the jokes. Nope. Not that either Matt. Strangely in my goodness.

Still there's just a important a copy to pick for from. There I know there's... It's I hate it for a the main reason the reason I hated it's not because of those things, because I'm kind of used to those things by now. So guest stars is Richard Da as a devil verb of himself. I made the joke glass week I'll make it again. I'm like, isn't that just normal, richard dogg? Kind of obnoxious jerk gives Eighth a bad name? Yeah. Yeah. That's, yeah. That's what I... Here.

That's my. I don't know if anyone really cares if I don't like Documents, But I don't Then Tina fe as miss kent. I don't know why Tina got this part. It's not... Because okay. If mean girls is that why? Is just like mean girls she played a teacher. Like, is that it? I guess... I mean, Tina fe is a good person. A fantastic actress. I I assume they wanted to get her and they were like, okay, we have to write AAA character that tina fake can

play. Alright. Let's make it a mean teacher, team tina fake me mean pretty well. Okay, but she's completely under using this. She doesn't say anything of value. There's really little acting to be done for this teacher. Like, She doesn't. She's 3 lines. She doesn't get any jokes, Matt. Like, that's the thing you have Tina Fe, a combo comedy writer an actress. She doesn't get A, joke, really, does she? It she... I mean, to be fair, I

don't know. I was reading our or or comes in new script reviews, which are incredibly divided about this episode. First, some seem to really like it and others hate it. And I'm that be will to me that you... Anyone likes us. But Hey. You you do... Everyone you do you. It's fine. You like what you like. I just... I didn't laugh at anything on this episode. I... Oh, god it. And every single time it was obvious. They were trying to make a joke. I wanted to throw something in the screen. It is...

The jokes are so un funny. They rage inducing. They're... It's like it's so... It's labor. It just feels like... And it and it feels like it's, like the I don't know... And this is the thing that I think the simpsons have done for a long time in in these buried this long stretch of terrible this. But it feels like, very pronounced in this episode where they, like, seem to be like, they make a joke and then seem to be like, waiting for us to laugh at it. They, like,

look at us They're like, hey. Isn't that funny? I mean, it's a very family guy asked, but this is over a decade after family guy came out, and it's not nearly as good as family guy family guy is not good. So, Tina fa on this. I don't I hate miss can't will. I hate her as a character. I hate. I I don't Hate. Doesn't make any damn sense. I just mad character is awful. Slow down. So I don't... But I don't wanna garage Tina fe. It's not Tina Fa. If she. She didn't

write this. That's the other thing. Like, She right? You're gonna bring in Tina fe. She is known for her incredible writing. Let her right of morgan an episode. They can't afford Key Fe. I mean, that's true. They can't afford favor writing up episode. That's really the, like they can't... The Simpsons writers. They can't right. They cannot afford. Here, Tate. We want you write upset? You're gonna have to pay me. Oh, well, mh. Here you goes. Episode begins. Here, it

begins. It 2 me minutes in 6 seconds. I actually clocked it. So that tells you. Like, most episodes are, like, a... I minute and in. And minute episode has started. And this is 2 2 minutes and 6 seconds before the episode starts. So We start with the... Like Matt said, there

are basically 2 a plots on this. The either of these are b plots, Both of these are, I I think if you wanna You could technically... I think, Matt, here's what in my brain, how I kind of rationalize it is it feels like the lease up plot is the a plot because it's serious. It's more serious. The... Yes. Yeah. The b plot is the net and homer plot technically, because it's more cartoon ish. And even though the episode is, I tentatively named after that, I guess? Yes. Again, they

don't care, about. They thought came up with a pun. They don't they they don't care what it. You think they think about that. But it's more and the most of the jokes. Quote unquote jokes. I'll say attempts at humor are in the home or ned stuff, not in the lisa stuff, which is I mean, there are attempts there are several notable attempts. The grandpa jokes in the lease supply. I just, we'll get to. Man, I just

here. What's what's let's get to a clip first before I start going into, like, into my my room monologue. So Miss Hoover is out. That's the first thing I was episode starts with. Miss hoover is out due to severe depression. This might be the only thing I didn't... I didn't laugh at this, but I did

think, oh, that could be... That like, that's a a, like, a feels that feels a Simpson s where you know, skinner, like, slowly writes it in chalk on a chalkboard severe depression, and then writes the very complicated like, medication she's receiving, and then writes, like, frown faces in the o's. Like, that feels like a Simpsons joke because it's, like, an adult. Explaining a very adult awful thing to kids in a very stupid way. It feels right.

It's not... I didn't laugh, but it's didn't feel... I was like, oh, that's interesting. I'm like, oh, maybe. And then immediately, we are given... They're getting getting basically a long term sub in. And Lisa's hopeful. She wants a good sub. She does... She wants someone who wants wants to be a teacher and wants to try and do a good job. So we are introduced to this new teacher. This is miss Kent well. And, no, she's mean, but basically only To

can't about it. It's just it's mean. This entire episode is mean in in in bitter, and it's presented with, like, smiley faces and, like, sure. If you want we'll get to this and fix this episode because this substance is absolutely broken. I'm answering the question right now. Sorry to knows the suspense. You can do an episode about a bully teacher. You could do that. Sure. There has to be some substance to her though. There has to be a reasoning, but be beyond the reason they come up with.

Miss Kate was immediately just incredibly vicious to a child, and Tal lisa, and In this case, Lisa hasn't done anything at all to miss K well. And if miss kate was just me a villain. Like, you know, like, matilda the style, like villain teacher that they have to, like, uproot and get out of the school, and we get everyone bonding together out over this. Okay. That's also something.

But this is really isn't that either This feels just like us watching seen after seen after seeing of an adult being mean to a child for no reason. They give a reason and episode, but it doesn't really make it. We found, yeah. We get a reason, but it's the stupidest reason ever, and I just wanna throw somebody this awful teacher Like, if you have problems with this, don't take it Out I don't know freaking child. I just it's so dumb. It's that it's not a it

I don't really... Again, it never becomes, like, I think they try and make it that matilda thing at the very end. But it fails because there's no build to it, and it's just make... It's just forcing the audience to watch. Seen after scene of a... Someone just being brutally mean to a child over and over and over again. And there's no and I... Like, the scenes don't really serve much of a purpose. And I I don't enjoy it. There's just no fun in it. There's no... And, like, you

would think there... You could... And maybe if there were some jokes in this map. Maybe I could deal with it. I find no humor in this. I find no jokes in any of this funny. And can't... Well, is this kind of this just awful person and I don't really wanna see in my simpsons. I don't wanna see like, a truly rep monster, which is what Kate is. That's what she is. She... There's nothing As she's presented us, she's just a awful person. And if it got anywhere, maybe I feel differently,

it doesn't. So it'll also then... But then, matt, So we get lisa fe and meatballs, which we get margins just an awful person in this subset by the way. Yeah. Marge... That's in that's my other problem. It's not confined to just this 1 character. Everyone in this episode is mean spirited and bitter and ugly. In marge like, oh, I... It's not really Chin chill I just wanted her to sleep more. What? What? Yeah. That that is not for you.

I mean, I understand that you're her mom, and you think she needs to sleep more but tell her that she's 8 for Again, matt, This is again. This is just mean ugly jokes. Like, for I don't know for who. I don't find them funny. I find them awful, but it's just like more... This is a march. Marge doesn't and do this. Know 1 and I I I'm gonna have... I have some words for some of our patron reviewers because I they're like, oh, everyone sounds like themselves. I mean, I... This is not my March.

Maybe Lisa is because Lisa is just like a sad little girl in this. I don't know what... I mean, home it is effectively, like, just nothing because they need him to be that for the Fl plot exist, I guess. But fl isn't fl on this to me. Merged and marched in to me. I hate miss can't well. It it... And that's really my big problems with. It's just mean. This it's just so ugly that I can't enjoy any moment of it. And getting back to homer in t

on breakfast with Fl. He goes to Fl house wants breakfast and wait Fl is like, fine. You wanna come in? And this is the thing meant where why is Ned inviting home in for breakfast? Because Ned is a nice guy. But he's not the but he's not. He's not nice. Matt. There's not... Hope fl is not nice at any point in this episode. He's not ever not. This is this is this is the fl that I would expect. This 1 right here. Okay. This is fl being excessively nice for almost no reason. But he doesn't do it

with a smile, Matt. He goes, you wanna come in sign. Once you come into this breakfast. I feel like this is almost fl from seasons 2 and 3. They tried to bring him back for this episode. A guy who, a nice guy neighbor who seems to have it all but is not like the super church nice at all costs kind of thing. But I'm just... Where's the it's where's the kindness? My fl smiles when he asked home for breakfast. He doesn't frown. He's not he's not... I don't know that's

I like, it doesn't... It feels like it's uncanny valley ned here where it feels like it's like it's kind of trying represent Ned, but like, no You've replaced him. Who's this man? I don't like him. Fl parents are here. Oh, okay. This is becomes, IIII don't know what. Again, why fl parents here? We don't Do we know? Did they tell us? No. They they're they're there because I guess they need a reason to make Ned mad. The best

I idea... That's the other thing like, if this episode, I guess, develop this plot at all, and, like, let me see Ned going, like, well, I don't really want having a conversation Ed is in this episode surprise like, halfway through she just shows up. But why don't you have a scene with Ned and Edna where Ed at we're... They're ab debating about inviting his parents and he's like, I don't want my parents to visit. And and goes, well, you don't have to. Invite them, you know, you can just say,

no. I don't want you hear. And ned... You know, no, I have to do the right thing or to do the Christian thing. But instead we just jumped to a scene where they're in the room and ned is apparently angry that they're there. Angry homer there even though we invited them all in, homer gets along with this with flannery or his parents. I... Sure. Some reason, no part particular reason they should get along. The home... I I don't see why he would like a bunch of

Hippie beat nicks or whatever they are. Yeah. That's... Yeah. That's the other thing, matt if they're be mix. How old? And that is 60 by the way. Yeah. If are we... Like, I don't... I know. They don't care about that, but it's like... At a certain point, it's just like grandpa, like, having fought and war 1 is it, like a as a toddler or something. You get to the point where, like, are we... What reality is this why Ned Beat parents are here, they would be in their nineties.

No. Mh. And but they look... They look younger than grandpa. And it'll like maybe their seventies and most. I would say early sixties, but that's just me. Again, homer gets along with them. We cut back to another lisa And can't well seen scene where miss cam just mean. Mean Lisa because Lisa is reading during free time, and it takes away quick. This this scene combine with the 1 at the end, absolutely fury me. Because for you haven't seen this episode please. Watch. Don't watch Don't watch this

episode. But Can't well reason at the end for not only least is, oh, she's a pretty girl, and then miss Kent wells is a nerdy book worm. Then why is she doing at Lisa about reading drain free? I'm... I real... I'm glad that Matt has got tapped into his rage today. Again, man, it doesn't... They don't care. They don't care about consistency aid character. They just want the plot to keep going. So they have to... And they... Are they... This is the first idea they came up with. And

so that's what they went with. I I guarantee it. If... Hey, if anyone... Anyone in the Simpsons writing staff from this time period wants to come on the show and defend themselves. You're welcome. You feel free. Come on. We'll talk Yeah. We are totally open to figuring out what this reason is. But it feels like with the long history of episodes we've watched recently matt. It feels like they went... Oh, yeah. This isn't consistent who cares. This is the first thing you came

up with. It's easier to just go with the thing we have. Oh, and there's, like, kangaroo stickers and in Kangaroo, like, cardboard thing that they... That she takes from a child and rips them up and throws the head at her. Really? Is what we're doing? Okay. So she takes away her quote unquote kudos, the little kids that like their kangaroo has on the on the wall of the the school room. Now we jump back to the homer ned plot because Ned has gone for a Doesn't

even finish breakfast by the way. And ned leaves breakfast before he eats just leaves homer and his parents to eat breakfast without him, he goes for a walk. Walked 6 miles we hear. And then he comes back to get Very upset at homer because he's smoking weed would Ned folks. 6 miles, and I'm all smiles. Funny Little debbie. That's cross like a music. Look at the size of that bird. I go Henry on those drumstick sticks. Homer. I can't believe you're part taking with my parents. Yeah. It's

traditional. We had a pain in our neck. I didn't know you were left handed. A damn left handed joke. That's not even Sorry. Moving on. There's been 2 scenes, Matt. With that in them. 2. Scenes. And he's already beaten somebody up He's already no other character. In Springfield has done. He's punched homer in the face because homer smokes weed with his parents. And there's no build to this. Like, I don't...

If you wanna do hurricane Net part too where Ned is trying to deal with, like, his obviously issues with his parents. And, like, you could... The story is right there, it is... Oh, well, Ned angry at his parents. He he hates his folks He hates that there's smoke weed in his house, but he can't hit them. He can hit home though theoretically. He can punch homer And so he does. Because he's angry and he as he's... You know, and, like, hey, it is established that Ned has those angry issues

because he varies at so deep. But Mh. There's no scene in this where his, like, we need scenes where Ned is talking to his folks his... And, like, we have the scene to Edna here. Again, fix this up episode. Has it scene with. And He's like, oh, my folks are coming over, and she just she's like, why don't, she's not tell them no. And... But he invites him over anyway. And then they smoke weed this out without his permission or against his direct,

against... Without his consent... And even after maybe tells him not to, explicitly. And they do it anyway. It gets upset at them and tell them, what are you doing? I don't... Like, I don't... You can do whatever you want when you're not in my house, but you're in my house. Please respect me. Respect that rules of my house. And, you know, and then then you have homer, then you entered his home at all of this. And then and you show scenes when ned being upset at as folks. You

have scenes are... That that think back to the the the way that his parents raised in the fact it feels like it failed him in certain ways. You have to build these things. Home homework gets punched after 2 scenes of him being somewhat obnoxious in, obviously mir in a show that has shown thousands of scenes of homer being obnoxious. And it just almost an incredibly obnoxious character. And ned has been the target of that for decades. And never even had any physical violence. Even

a hurricane, Netting, there's no physical violence. He just yells. Exactly, ma'am. Exactly. There's no build to this. So it means nothing to me. I go, oh, this feels very arbitrary. This feels very like, oh, well, we wanted to escalate this very quickly because we don't know how to manage your time or how to pace an episode. So

immediately, there's conflict. And then, immediately, they slow everything down and make this about the fact that this is about, like, ned wanting homer to, like, feel even with them about the relationship after this punch is the stupidest decision in history. It's so dumb, and it slows down the episode, It makes it makes it worse. So so many ways. So many ways. And we got our first commercial 7 minutes and 8 seconds. When we come back, we're at the hospital,

homer is wearing an patch because he... He's gonna have a black eye. Oh, no. Like, how Ned feels awful about this. Homer... I'm trying to get past all the horrible jokes here because the joke are so bad and stupid. Fl feels awful about this. Okay? That... That's just like it. He would feel absolutely awful about losing his temper. He hates stuff like that. Okay. I get that But then homer starts ant him because he's

homer. We get a horrible joke about Marge not realizing she makes the the mumbling sound. She makes. And then a homer makes a joke about unplugging him from the wall, which centers out, oh, that's it's just the light and unplug it. 1, we don't see anything happen. If it if it's a light, Shouldn't we just anyway, and then a homer pretends to flat line. Like, how how is this supposed to be funny, Robbie? Please explain to me how it's supposed

to be funny? I just they met, someone said here, I can, again, here, imagine. I'm putting my hand in my head, like, I'm AAA Johnny Carson. They... I can envision it right now. Okay? They went... Oh, this is the b plot. It needs to have jokes in it. What jokes... I'm here, matt. I know you're you're already saying, but that is... This is the conversation. This is the conversation. Oh, we need jokes. This is the b plot. This has to be funny. The lisa

plus really mean and awful. We need the b plot to have jokes in it, and it's home or a ned. Okay. So we're in a hospital. Need some jokes here. We need some jokes in the scene. Need to punch it up with some jokes. So, someone wrote down 10 jokes. Maybe the room wrote down 10 jokes. And they picked the 4 ones they thought were best end story. That's it. And the the 4 aren't very good. Like, that's every seen in this where they clearly just went... We need jokes in the scene.

What can we come up with? They didn't spend them time they didn't kind of, they didn't develop jokes. They didn't... If there is a second draft of this, I would be incredibly surprised. I don't know why, like, why is he wearing an patch? Why is fl Wise fl in the hospital in this room. Like, there's just all these questions like, well, why why didn't it follow them? It's it's it's all nonsense. It's it's just thing, like Again, it's arbitrary. It's like, oh, well, we need the

scene to happen. Do you... Why is this now the conflict? Why isn't the conflict about ned you know, improving himself and getting rid of his angry issues and confronting his parents. Why Homer doesn't matter. It's not about homer. Oh, Robbie. Everything's about Homer. I... Again, that... That's part of the problem is it's like, you want... Do you wanna tell a Ned? Con... No. The conflict is about homer being obnoxious. Okay. Cool. Now you're getting me upset. Why you did you did this? This is

your fault. Sorry, Robbie. It's just it's just the way it is. Okay. So we we go back to Dead because this about ned, ostensibly. And Dead can't sleep. And ed is next time say, oh, that's right, Ned and they're together totally could have forgotten about that. Because it's been so long since we saw them together, whatever. Ned has a nightmare about his own personal hell, involving brief nudity and a couple other completely

hate this. Matt. I know wrong the Trying get through this because we also have Retro your talking in the showing up. I... It's just... There's so many jokes. Again, you wanna talk about bad jokes. That I don't I really don't understand why they are here. Like, again probably. And there's no needed jokes. And this is what they came up. Right. You're right, matt. She listen to myself. It's...

III think I just... It's good. It's just because there's... I can see the the path to something that's really powerful and stand substantial. And could actually deepen a plot. Like, having nightmares, I love nightmares. I write horror novels, man. There's... I never all the time. They're great. That mirrors are your raised on d. They're so good. They're like, it's just an... Such an and like ever and they're so relatable. Everyone has an nightmares about all kinds of different stuff. You

can eat dream sequences. You can use dream logic and you could you can kinda of explore a lot of metaphors and and it's animation. You can make it look like anything. And, oh, so we're sending planners to Hell. It's gonna be great. His own hell. But instead they're like, oh, you can... It's not, like, oh, you can't have jokes in there. And, like, the brief joke is fine, but I... You you you could use this to throw in some some old gag. You could throw in.

But you have to at the end of the day, get to something. About ned. Instead we just get devil orchard da ins? Like, is this the best we can do? And jokes about, like apparently. And it jokes about gay marriage, but, like, a guy marrying and a pickle or something, Like, I... Which I don't under, like Massachusetts. Some... It's a Boston joke. That I don't know. I don't know this. I've never been to Boston, but it's not... There's never, like, hear him, immediate rewrite of the statement.

Punch up the jokes first and foremost. But second, this ends with his parents. This ends with Ned running into his parents in hell. Oh my goodness. You tie it back to the earlier part of the episode what? And this is when Anne, this is when Ned realizes this is when Ned makes the connect. And he wakes up and realizes I was never angry at don't at all. Poor maybe I was, but I was mostly really. I was angry at my folks. Yeah. I wasn't... And then then, oh, wow. Development.

Oh, wow. Some some story to the story. But it instead just, oh, talking. Oh, Jokes about gay marriage. K. Cool. Thanks. Mh. Mh. Don't Interrupt. It's gonna get worse. I know Guess when ned wakes up. When Wakes up. He goes to his bible to search for a solution because the bible has the solution to everything. We get more jokes of Ned finding a whole bunch of sm in the bible involving Siemens and bo and all kinds of things because the Bible. And he finally finds in the old testament.

Let's be clear. The old testament, the I for an eye. Completely skip the new testament, all the good stuff about forgiveness and whatnot and you know, trying to be a better person, skip right over that. You'll right back at the old testament I for an eye. If we go to Lisa, who goes up to, miss Kent and says, why don't you like me? And ms Campbell just will not tell her. Just says no. No. I'm not telling you. She she basically confirms that she doesn't like lisa, but will not tell her why.

It's good. You're the worst teacher in the world. See see student not... This is the time, at. If you wanna solve... This is this is the point in no return for this plot, by the way. This point right here. Like, I could stomach those earlier scenes if this scene was drastically different, and and you just had her tell the truth. And you made it a good reason. If it was something really awful that Lisa reminds her of or for... Or it's like, oh, well, like, the thing

that Lisa says, like, oh, you're... Like, they make it a joke in a scene matt. They make it a joke where Lisa's, like, you're remind me you you... I'm remind you of you, and then and this can't well me like, it's angry. And you're like, no. No, actually, that's the it's not maybe the only answer you could use, But it's certainly an answer you could use that would make me can't well more interesting and maybe somewhat more fleshed out. Yeah.

I mean, basic idea right here. Oh, miss can't well missed out on a scholarship because of a great gru girl like Lisa, and now hates all of, like, the super studio people. Right? 234567. You write is a bunch. As managing couple come up with. And then you narrow that down to, like, the best of those, and then you take each of those and you sketch out the... What the rest of the episode would look like if you follow that. I I can't believe that I have to do this.

I have to explain these very simple things because I'm not sure the Simpsons writers at this point understand it. Or maybe they understand it and they just don't care or they don't wanna do it because it's more work. I don't know. But you would then sketch out, like, oh, well, this is... It would do would turn out this way or it could look it could look like this. Could look like that, and you would go, oh, well, of all these paths, which is the 1 that is probably most emotionally impactful and

potentially gives us more avenues for humor. You'd follow those And maybe you would maybe in caught in between a couple. Like, this 1 is probably funnier here. But this 1 probably would, you know, land more in more emotionally, have more character stuff in it. And then you bounce that out and decide what you wanna do in that episode so This like art. That's what... I I hate to describe it. That's what art is. It's like you

deciding, like, What do you wanna say? What do you wanna do with the thing you made? Do you want it to be funny? Do you want it to be more emotionally impactful? And I would say, like, neither of those is with the right answer, the the interesting thing about art is seeing what how people choose that. You go, oh, well, they chose to make this more impactful. I would... It's a lease plot. You make... You go with the emotion. That's me. And you have the homer and ned stuff

of... Again, I would just spend these into 2 different episodes. Like, you hinted at earlier Matt. But if you're gonna have a home plot. You... That's the be part. You have a lot of jokes in there to a Lisa Ap pod and that's a try and true template. You have the lisa plot. It's not gonna be as funny. It's gonna be more emotionally impactful. Then you make... as a character archetype. And then you do what homer is best at with the jokes, and then you split it up that way. But instead, it... Like, there's no answer here. But they don't... She's just... She's just taking up time for no apparent reason. There's... The... That makes no sense. It's missing for this... That these plots both that need way more time. There's no foundational elements to any of them. There's no conflict in anything of this.

And maybe it ends with him confronting his parents about how awful they are and then apologizing or maybe they just don't care and, you know, homer says, hey. And then apologize as to homework and homework says, hey, man. I get it. My dad sucks to. If you get some digs in abe. There are plenty of those in the

golden years that worked. Any of that could have been better, but both of these should have been their own episode for 1 thing. I... Yeah. Like, you... We we're we kinda went over well, we would make these. Both of these flaws. And again, there is... It it is very clear that that it just didn't happen. There were no, like, thoughts about like, we should take it this way we could take it that way. It's very clear like, they just went a away, and that's what they went went because it's
