Episode description

I’ve started mocking up a proper training program to run through, because it’s been quite chaotic in the past. With our sales process, we want our sales team to be experts in solar, to have the information and knowledge to be able to handle any question, solve any problem and outsmart and customer or any salesperson feeding the customer bullshit. The overall idea is so that the customer has an awesome experiences and will the be an advocate of our business. I was even explaining to our new salesman today that the reason we pay the same commissions, and have the same margins (risk adjusted to system size) in all 4 systems sizes we sell is because we want them to recommend the best system for that customers exact personal situation.
As a side note, this is helping me form better ideas of our frameworks just thinking about it out loud which is so awesome!
As part of achieving that result for the customer, and thus our business long term, we need them trained on some very technically dense information, and it’s full on.
I’ll talk about how I used to do if, chaos, vs how I do it now, much more organised and systematic.
We also plan on creating quizzes and videos for most of our steps, as well as checklists for various tasks and a guideline sales process to refer back to. We still want them to put their own flare into everything though, as we believe the individuality of people is what makes them amazing salespeople, and we’ve hired them because we have faith in them for that.
