With our ever shortening attention spans and diminishing ability to focus, it’s easy to get pulled into new ideas and ventures. The business and marketing worlds are very much driven by the next shiniest objects.
But if you really examine it, the most successful, the highest achievers and performers don’t actually have a million plates in the air spinning… not simultaneously at least.
Sure top performers may have broad interests multiple ventures moving at once, but I can almost guarantee you that they didn’t build them simultaneously. It takes a high degree of focus and effort to build anything to success. If that focus and effort is too scattered it limits how far you can take any one venture.
Narrow your focus on very specific outcomes and develop a mastery in the skills needed to achieve those things. And don’t move on or start anything new until you’ve hit your target.
Jack of all trades, master of none.
