A Different Take on Niching Down
Episode description
Niching down and getting more specialized with your business and content is advised by most industry experts. I’ve begun really looking at how I can further niche down as I create and roll out the programs and classes I have planned for this year.
For this episode, I want to discuss a misconception of niching down and the mistakes I see people make when launching their offerings.
Creating an offering that’s too narrow is one thing. Launching with the notion that you’re going to create a new niche is a whole different thing entirely. And that’s what I see people do.
The tendency when looking at what one might perceive as an overcrowded market is to want to come up with something completely new and different than anything anyone else is doing or has done. And sure, your niche may be a great idea, but if it’s not something anyone cares about or needs, then it’s only ever going to be an idea.
Niche down to meet specific needs you see in the market place, not by building something new and different. Sure, unicorns might exist but your chances of finding one are infinitesimal.
