Episode description

I'm teaching a free webinar Friday, November 17th called Intention to Action: Bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be. Leave with practical tools and Jedi mind tricks to generate motivation to *finally* follow through on your best laid plans. This workshop will change the way you change FOREVER. All your problems can fit into one of 5 categories:

1) unfortunate life events (ex. your mom gets sick)

2) intrusive negative thoughts (ex. "I'm worthless")

3) uncomfortable emotions (ex. despair, defeat, overwhelm, loneliness)

4) actions that don't lead to what you want (ex. overeating, overdrinking, procrastination)

5) unwanted results (ex. health diagnosis like diabetes, your partner leaves you, you get fired)

Out of those 5 categories, only the 1st is out of your control. However, we never really learned effective ways of controlling the other 4.

Here are the ways we try to solve those problems that don't work:

  • You try to control other people orbchange the outside (move, get a new job or partner) - only to find yourself in the SAME situation
  • You believe your unhelpful thoughts so they continue to torment you
  • You supress, numb, avoid or distract yourself from your challenging emotions
  • You try to force yourself to act differently by using willpower, which never lasts and doesn't create lasting change

These things don't work because they don't get at the root cause of the problems: your subconscious programming.

So you continue to feel like you don't have control of your life, you're difficult emotions run your life, and you keep repeating frustrating behaviors and recreate unwanted results in your life.

The solution: self-directed neuroplasticity. The ability to use your mind to change your brain. When you learn how, you can think, feel and do what you want, and you feel like you're in the driver's seat of your life.
