You know, we hear all the time about doing what it takes to make it. You know, the sacrifice we have to make, the growth that we have to go through, and even people we'll have to let go of. But what happens after that? What happens after you make it? What do you do with the skills that you've honed and the empire that you've built?
Well, today, on the last episode of this season, we'll be looking at a character who is called the strongest agent in Border, and we're going to see how he chooses to use that strength that he's honed over time. And of course, I'm talking about the power elite himself, Yuichi Jin. Hey, what's going on, guys?
My name is Nate. You're listening to the Otaku Liberation, a show where we help you break free from the chains that are holding you back in your life by connecting some biblical principles with themes from your favorite anime. And without further ado, let's get into it. So I got two verses I want to go over today in regards to Jin in the whole concept of essentially paying it forward, right?
What do you do once you have everything that you've ever prayed for, asked for, wished for, and things like that? So the first is going to be Proverbs chapter 3 verse 13, and it says, blessed is the one who finds wisdom and who acquires understanding. And then the second one is going to be Proverbs chapter 11 verse 25, a generous person will be enriched and the one who gives a drink of water will receive water. So let me go over the first one first, Proverbs chapter 3 verse 13.
So it's the concept of, you know, whoever finds wisdom in understanding are blessed, right? And essentially what it is that you understand, at least the way I look at it, right? You understand your meaning, your calling in life, what you are here for, right? You find out what your passion, your life goal, your life's mission, whatever you want to call it. And not only that, you have the wisdom to navigate it, right?
To know what to do, when to do it, when not to do, when not to do something, things like that. And all those things are, one, first and foremost, are a gift from God himself, but two, there's something that you're going to learn at home throughout your life, you know, we're never going to stop learning. And the wisest people are ones who are lifelong learners, right? You know, you don't, the minute you think you know it all is the minute you're going to realize you don't.
But how, so how this applies to, to Jen, in fact, so a little background on Jen. So Jen called himself, you know, the power elite and for a very good reason, right? And the best, the best kind of comparison I can give him, that's the closest thing, is to Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen. And not so much in the fact that he is just, you know, super powerful, that he can just beat any and everybody, just with the flick of his wrist, right?
Not in that sense, but in the sense that, at least from what I've seen thus far in series, is there's no other character who is close to him in terms of, you know, his abilities, his prowess and things like that. And the reason behind that is because of Jen's side effect. And again, as a recap, side effects are essentially abilities or powers that people who have a lot of try on, they typically develop them. So like Yuma is, he can detect when you're lying, he's a human lie detector.
He knows when people are lying. Chika's is, you know, she can detect when neighbors are around and she can also hide her presence from them and so on and so forth. And Jen's is, you know, the ability to see possible futures. And yeah, I know we've seen it multiple times in different anime, different shows, movies, things like that, you know, foresight. You can either be really, really broken or really, really garbage, depending on how they decide to use it, right? By the writers of the story.
In Jen's case, it's a unique one, at least to me it is, because the futures are never certain. He sees them as branching possibilities. And as things unfold, as new information is relayed to him, the certain future starts getting closer and closer and becomes clearer to him. And of course with that, it allows him to know things that others don't, right? And the key thing about that, so that's kind of where the wisdom comes in, right?
He knows things that other people don't pick up on or they just don't know at all because again, he can see the future. But he chooses to use that knowledge for the betterment of all people and not just himself. Right? I mean, I don't know about you guys, but I know if I had to be able to see the future in me, and I'm going straight, I'm buying as many lottery tickets as I possibly can, right? And you know what the next biggest trend is, make sure you get in on that.
You know, you can be real selfish and abuse this type of power, right? But in Jen's case, he decides not to. He decides to use it for the betterment of not really himself, but of border in general. Even when he's buddy heads with the higher ups over their different philosophies and things like that, Jen never takes anything personal. He never uses his ability for any malicious intent. He always uses it in a way that's going to best serve any and everybody.
The best way, well not the best way, the best example I can kind of give, and I'll give you two examples, is one is the second invasion that was done by the neighbors, right? So like on the previous episode with Hughes, I said Hughes was an evader who came to earth to kidnap a bunch of people with Triune, right? It was during this invasion, the same invasion that Jen's power was really shown on display and it ultimately changed the tide of the war.
Because one, the enemies didn't know that he could see the future, right? I mean, how could you possibly know that somebody has that ability, right? And two, Jen's ability to understand what he's seeing and to make rational decisions based on what he's seeing is second to none. Because it's one thing to be able to see the future, but it's another thing to be able to act upon it, right?
Act upon the knowledge that you have, because I don't know how many of us would, knowing something's coming, we'd be just freeze up and decide, oh well, this is just how it's meant to be, this is how it's going to be. Or then how many of us are just going to go, no, this is the future I want, so I'm going to go try to change it, but you don't have a plan to do it, you don't know how you're going to do it, right?
So either A, you're doing nothing, or B, you're going way faster than you need to, and you don't have a plan. In Jen's case, he doesn't do either one of those, he's right in the middle, he's like, okay, these are the possible futures, what is the best case scenario? Okay, so this is the best case scenario, what do I need to do in order to get the future towards that one?
And of course, it's during the invasion that he makes decisions that on one hand jeopardizes some individual lives, but in a grander scheme, he saves countless people. So during this invasion, Hughes and his people are trying to take mainly Chica, because like I covered in her episode, she has the largest amount of triune volume that we've seen to date, like even now currently, she still has the most data of anybody.
And so the neighbors were going to use her as a, essentially as for their mother trigger, which is something, you know, you got to watch the series to really understand what it is, but she is what they call their golden baby bird. She's like one in a million or something like that. So they were there for her. And then during the invasion, at first, that wasn't really clear, but Jen, with his power, it started becoming more and more clear to him that, okay, so they're after her.
So and at that moment, he had a choice. He could have either told Osamu and all the other higher ups to bring her back into HQ to protect her, or he could have let the enemy focus on getting her to lead them away from the civilians. And he chose the latter. And that decision is a very heavy one, because you're choosing to risk the life of one over many.
And I'm just trying to think if I was in that type of position, there was somebody that I cared about, somebody that I was close with, and it's choosing them or the lives of countless other people who I may or may not have met before. You know, it's hard to say what you would do unless you're in that type of situation. But Jen showed that responsibility, you know, pretty, pretty well, honestly, even after the fact when he was talking to Osamu after everything was done.
Because of that decision, you know, Osamu almost died. Yuma lost his guardian slash mentor who had been with him since his father died. And you know, there's some other, not really casualties, no one else really died, but there's some other injuries and things that have happened. But overall, it was still the best outcome that could have happened. But even still, Jen apologized to Osamu because it was his decision that put his life in jeopardy.
And even though it was the right decision to make, and I'm sure Jen would have made it again, he still owned up to it saying, hey man, look, I'm sorry this is the way it turned out, but this was the only way. So it's having that ability, right, and then knowing how to use it and when to use it, and then owning up to it, even if you're wrong, right? Because just because he can see the future doesn't mean he's always right, which is weird to say, right?
But since the future isn't set in stone, it's constantly chasing based on every decision that we make, right? Every decision that we choose to do something or choose not to do something. I mean, that's the beauty of free will. And it's one of those things that I know a lot of people kind of get confused or get, you know, because it's like, on one hand, you know, God knows everything that we're going to do even before we do it.
On the other hand, he gave us free will to make our own choices and to essentially create our own path, right? And it's kind of the same thing. He sees all possible futures, all possible endings to how our lives are going to go. And you know, he leaves it up to us to make the decision because he gave us free will. We have to make the decision to follow his instructions or do our own thing, right? And no matter what, we have to learn how to take responsibility and live with those consequences.
Because again, the word consequence isn't a negative thing. As much as a lot of us grew up understanding consequences are just a result of an action, right? Or the result of an inaction. And they can be positive or negative. Like, you know, going to work, for example, a positive consequence is getting paid, right? So having money in your bank account is a positive consequence of you going to work. And a negative consequence of you not going to work is you may end up getting fired, right?
So that's the two different things. And we as people need to come, you know, get some type of closure or whatever you want to call it about just the responsibility, taking responsibility for our own actions, our own things, our own choices that we're making, and stop trying to blame it on other people or blame it on, you know, these past scenarios, these past things like that. And just own up to it, right? Because at the end of the day, nobody else can make you do anything.
You have to allow them to make you do something, right? And again, what I want us to learn from Jen here is that, you know, he had a hard decision he had to make. It could have panned out a lot worse if he chose the other one. But he chose what he felt was the best choice to make at that time. And he's living with the results of it, right? Which again, it just happened to be the best scenario that he saw and he made the right decision.
And what I guess what I want us to do is, you know, just take that. So take the knowledge, take the skills that we have learned, that we've honed, and let's find a way to share it with others, right? Because again, Jen doesn't have to share the vision that he sees with the higher up to other people. He could set it out the way he's the only one that comes out on top each and every time, right? If he was that type of character.
But instead he chooses to share it with, you know, the higher up the people that he doesn't even get along with all the time. And he leans on them as much as they lean on him to make sure that, again, the common goal, the common theme, the common enemy that we're all trying to fight, that we're all trying to fight. He's like, hey, let's put our differences aside. This is what we need to do. So what is that for us, right? What is that knowledge?
What is that skill that we've learned and honed over the years and got to the point where we can say we're pretty proficient at? So what can we do to share it with other people, share it with the next generation that's coming up, sharing it with other people who may be interested in it, you know, who may not be interested in it because they don't know enough about it. How can we leverage what our own lives, our own experience, and in a way that helps other people, right?
And what I'm not just talking to the older generation, people who are, hey, I'm talking to the younger people too, right? And because I want both sides to really listen to each other and really hear each other because I know growing up has been one of those things, you know, the older people, they think they know it all because they have more life experience. And then the young people, we think we know it all because, you know, we haven't experienced life, right?
So we just think we know everything because we haven't been exposed to it. And then the older people think they know it all because they have experienced the world. And the truth is neither one of us know everything, right? There's something, there's something they've been gained from both sides.
There's something that can be gained from having an older mentor, you know, whether it's older, you know, brother, sister, parent, teacher, you know, coworker, boss, whatever mentor is who is further along in their journey than you are, they have valuable wisdom and experience that they can share with you to help you get further along and vice versa. You know, older mentors, there's something you can get from your mentees that, you know, because times have changed since you were there, right?
Times are different than when you came up through, you know, whatever, you know, internship, whatever job, whatever life scenario that you're going through, right? It's different now than it was when you went through it. So maybe you can pick up some tips and tricks from them as well. And all of it, all of it is just sharing information, right? Just sharing information and getting along with each other. And you know, again, just make life easier, right? Just make life easier.
And we don't have to always be at each other's throw. Always have to be just out for ourselves, right? As easy as it is to do that, as easy it is to just, you know, fall back into our selfish mindset coming in. We all have it. We're all born with it. We're all innate in us to only look out for ourselves.
But after you get there, after you get to the top, after you get to, after you reach that goal that you strive so hard to get, you know, don't forget to look back, you know, not just at the people who've helped you get there, but also the other ones behind you who you've inspired, right? Who you've inspired, who they've seen your journey.
They may not have been a part of it, but because you went through, you struggled, you sacrificed and now that you're here, reach back and help others get to that same point, right? Where it's just some words of encouragement, right? I mean, because our words are powerful. You never know what someone may be thinking and the things that you said to them could have changed their whole perspective on themselves, on their life, on their mission. You know, you just never know.
So don't be afraid to reach back and help somebody else, you know, because again, you're already there. You're living the life that you created, you know, that you sought out to live. So I'm going to help get other people to elevate themselves and get them to that next level too. And so then again, that's the first part about wisdom and sharing that wisdom.
And the second part is, you know, back for Proverbs 11 verse 25 and talking about, you know, the one who gives a drink of water will receive water, right? And what that means is so if you pour out into somebody else, then God's going to pour back into you, right? And if you're a good steward of the resources that he's given you already, you know, then he's going to give you more. That's how this whole thing works. But again, it starts with you being responsible of what you've been given already.
And in Jen's case, you know, again, Jen's a super likable guy. He's really popular amongst almost all the agents at board or from the higher ranked ones to even the new recruits, they know who he is and they respect him. And not just because he's strong, but because he's likable too. Like he's always hanging out with the lower ranked guys and gals when he's not doing his own thing, when he's not off on a mission or doing something like that. He's likable.
He's always there to lend a helping hand to whoever needs it. And because of that, he's able to use his popularity and his power, power by influencing his actual foresight to essentially get things done. You know, it allows him to do what is necessary without wasting time with blockers. And so essentially, more or less, he's able to call in favors or things like that if needed. And I really favor people. They just want to help him because he's always helping them.
He's always helping other people. And honestly, you get so much further in life when you don't have people fighting you. You know, and they're actually on your side. They actually want to help you. And the best way to do that is to be somebody that they actually want to help. Because again, this whole idea, this is self-improvement. We're trying to improve ourselves to be better than we were yesterday. Be the best version of yourself that you can be.
And the best version of yourself is the one alive today, the one listening to this episode, the one who's deciding to make a change, to make a difference within themselves. And once you do that, you're just going to naturally attract other people who are doing the same thing, who are on their own journey, on their own path, who are trying to do better and reinvent themselves. And hey, leverage that. Leverage that relationship.
You know, leverage the friendship that you developed to help each other out. And it's not just so you can get something out of them, but it's so you can honestly just build a community, build something better, even better. Because again, as awesome as we all are, and we're all awesome, we can't do everything ourselves, right? We can't do everything. We don't know everything.
And so it's about using what you do know, using what you do have, and how can you add to someone else's life while also enhancing your own. I kind of came to a point, an example for myself, you know, I got two buddies, and all three of us have different professions, right? You know, I work in IT. One guy is an accountant, and my other buddy is a personal trainer.
So when it comes to tax time, we're asking our accountant buddy certain questions, you know, how to make sure we're good with the government, right? Make sure we're good, everything is okay, it's all good. And they have computer troubles, and they ask me certain questions that I can help them with. And when it comes to getting these gains and staying fit, of course I ask my personal trainer, hey, what's a good workout I need to do for this? Or can you write me up a routine?
And that's a small example, but who do you know in your circle that knows something more, that knows more about a topic than you do, or essentially experts in this field, at least in compared to you, right, that you can ask these questions? And that's another thing too. Another thing about being resourceful, it's not so much about what you have and what you know, it's about knowing how to get the information if you don't know it, right? And the best way you can do that is ask questions.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. And don't be too prideful to ask questions, right? Because again, you don't know everything. And it's better to realize that you don't know everything than for the world to tell you you don't know everything. And again, the best way to combat that is, you know, ask questions, you know, be humble, be willing to learn. Because again, like I said at the beginning of this episode, you know, the wisest people are lifelong learners, right?
So always go into every conversation, every meeting, every day to day, heck, even watching TV, one episode with an open mind, like, hey, maybe I'm able to learn something new from this, you know? That's right, I'm looking at you, Family Guy. I can learn something new. I can learn something that can apply to my life, right? No, not really. Don't do that. Family Guy is for entertainment. But, but seriously.
So again, guys, I want you to just have an open mind and just because you've made it to where you are right now, don't forget to where you started, right? Because right now there's someone out there who is in the same position you were in, you know, a year ago, five years ago, 10 years ago, who, who made, who can benefit from hearing your story, hearing your journey. And if nothing else, they can just be encouraged to take that first step, just like you did way back when you first started this.
So anyway, well, that's all I got for you guys today. And again, this is the end of the World Trigger season, but don't worry, I'll be back next week. So we gotta look forward to the next season where we're talking about a show that kind of goes over the concept of changing your past doesn't really mean you're guaranteed a better future. And each of these characters go through something in their past and the way they have to, to face it and grow from it.
And, and Ozzy is an anime that's grown close to me, and I just finished watching it not too long ago myself, but it's of course, an anime called Re Zero. So if you heard of it and you guys look forward to it, if not, you're going to hear about it next season. So again, I just want to thank you guys for tuning into today's episode. And I hope that you learned something new about yourself and that you find something that you can improve about yourself too.
Because again, I'm trying to get better each and every day. So feel free to subscribe to the podcast and leave a review and I love reading your guys comments and it helps me improve each and every episode. And always remember, you are the main character of your story and that story doesn't end until he says so. All right, be blessed. Be blessed.
