JCIP #89 - Holly Swinyard

In the eighty-ninth episode of The Just Checking In Podcast, we checked in with Holly Swinyard. Holly is a writer, podcaster and cosplay lover. They are the Editor-In-Chief and Head Writer of the Cosplay Journal, which is a UK based cosplay magazine & publication that promotes the craft, skill & diversity in the cosplay community. They are also the co-host of the Ray Gunn & Starburst podcast, a science-fiction and comedy audio drama podcast, which acts as a love-letter to the famous sci-fis of the 1950s and 60s and plays up to all of their associated tropes and quirks. In this episode we discuss how Holly got into writing, producing and cosplaying. We also discuss their struggles with dyslexia as a child and teenager, grief, their undiagnosed autism and their wider journey around their sexuality and gender which they have come to the conclusion they are trans at time of recording.
