In episode 109 of The Just Checking In Podcast we checked in with Shreya Shah. Shreya is the host of the 'In All Fearness' podcast. Shreya has conversations with guests on modern day millennial dilemmas, facing their fears and being okay with not being okay. In this episode we discuss how the podcast started, social media comparison culture and how the podcast has made her reflect on her own mental health state. We also talk about Shreya’s battle with her racial heritage and how it relates to her identity and world-view. Shreya is British-Indian and has felt the two worlds of traditional Indian culture and the English culture she was brought up in pulling her in two different directions. In the last few years, she has tried to reconcile the two whilst retaining her individuality. We discuss this ongoing battle, the therapy she has done to address it and a life-changing moment which happened in a relationship just before lockdown.
