Massimo Pigliucci is the K.D. Irani Professor of Philosophy and Chair of the Department of Philosophy at The City College of New York. He holds a Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Connecticut and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Tennessee. He commonly publishes work in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and numerous other publications. He is a Fellow of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry and a Contributing Editor to the Skeptical Inquirer.
He has published over 180 technical papers on scientific and philosophic topics as well as written or edited 14 books. Some of his books include including the best-selling How to Be A Stoic: Using Ancient Philosophy to Live a Modern Life, as well as A Field Guide to a Happy Life, A Handbook for New Stoics, and Nonsense on Stilts.
