Dr. Azra Raza is the Chan Soon-Shiong Professor of Medicine and Director of the MDS Center at Columbia University. She is considered an authority on pre-leukemia and acute leukemia. Dr.Raza has published over 300 peer-reviewed manuscripts in famous journals ranging from Nature to the New England Journal of Medicine. She is the co-editor of the widely acclaimed website called 3quarksdaily, which I highly recommend.
She is a recipient of numerous awards, including The Hope Award in Cancer Research. Dr.Raza is a member of the Founder Group, which is looking for a breakthrough in science alongside President Bill Clinton. She also met with the then-Vice President Joe Biden to discuss the Cancer Moonshot initiative. She also has a Ted Talk called “Why Curing Cancer is So Hard”.
Most recently she is the author of the beautifully written book The First Cell: And the Human Costs of Pursuing Cancer to the Last.
