The Daily Dave - Podcasting Tips - Update - I Connected My RSS Feed to YouTube - Part 2
Ok, so this a quick update on my RSS ingestion into YouTube
Suggestions for you when this becomes available to save you a boat load of time and work
- ensure your espisode title is less than 100 characters (including spaces, numbers, dashes and letters) - anything over 100 characters will be chopped off the end of your title when your podcast is ingested into YouTube
- Add your own end screen - the recommendation prompt at the end of your podcast - I have mine set to my channel and to my podcast playlist
- Audio Only episodes will be ingested and the artwork for your podcast playlist will automatically be applied - you don't have to hire someone or pay your hosting site for this service going forward if you connect your rSS feed to YouTube!
- You can set your current and future episodes to be ingested and parked as Private, Unlisted or Public - I set mine to Public so that I don't have to go in and flip them from Private to Public - your choice here
- You will need to do a little editing to the episode despcription/show notes - not all of your formatting transfers, annoying, but not crazy hard.
Update 3 will include an idea of how long it takes for an episode to show up on YouTube once it is posted live to my RSS Hosting Site - I will hit my stopwatch when I post this episode
