EPISODE 22 - Why Static Image Posts on YouTube are the BEST!
Woah, Dave have you lost it? Static Images on YouTube? A video first platform? What are you talking about?! You lost me!
Ok, ok... settle down class. I know this episode title will trigger all of the élite YouTubers out there and MANY PODCASTERS! But this episode isn't for you! So press stop, and go on with your day!
Are they gone?! Ok, let's continue!
A static image post on YouTube is simply a picture with an mp3 audio file attached to it. I use a tool I found called One Image Music Video at
Start with Canva - they have a free plan, go to templates search for "YouTube Thumbnails" pick a template you like, change the words, colors, images to suit your podcast and download the image!
What are the benefits to uploading a static image to YouTube?
(1) YouTube has no limits to how many episodes you can upload at one time like a media host does for your audio versions - that is great!
(2) Some people (shockingly) listen to videos on YouTube with their phone in their pocket - hold for shock and amazement, I know right?!
(3) Your interview guest will not have to wait for your audio episode to release months after the interview
(4) YouTube is like a publicly accessible Google Drive or Drop Box! Let YouTube be an external hard drive, back up for your episodes just in case your computer goes wonky and you can't access your completed files - one more tool to have an extra copy of your work!
(5) People will find it - and that is good
(6) Some guests DO NOT want to be on camera - this is a great alternative!
I know that YouTube is a video first platform - I do go back in and upload the actual video interview at a later date - but nobody is waiting on me to do so!
WIN WIN!
Sorry experts, but this just makes sense AND, it works!
