Sports Matter with Melissa Christian - #2

Dick's Sporting Goods is a leader in giving youth access to sports. My guest today, Melissa Christian, is their Vice President of Global Brand and Category Marketing, and she is particularly passionate about helping and supporting young female athletes. As we talk, she describes her research that shows that by the age of 14, girls drop out of sports at two times the rate of boys. To change that trajectory, Dick's is currently undertaking many initiatives to support female athletes and help them succeed. Following the mantra that "you need to see her to be her," Dick's has committed to removing many of the barriers that prevent women from participating in sports.  

Sport transcends age, race, political views, gender, and it opens the doors to opportunities in our lives. In this arena, Dick's Sporting Goods is leading from the front!
