Welcome back to The Draymond Green Show. This is really just my reaction to Lebron James breaking the odd times scar record so far listeners and subscribers, UM, thank Lebron that he brought us here because honestly, UM, before you know, I say anything to anyone about what we witnessed last night, I really just wanted to come sit here and share some thoughts like not with a question or um, you know something that someone wants to know for an article
like oh that's cool, But honestly, that's such a huge moment in history, in life and time. UM, when you think of the impact that basketball as a whole has on the world, or the NBA as a whole have on the world. And and and then you think, like deep into the history of the NBA the all time leading score, like in the history of the NBA. That's crazy.
And to think that a guy who never set out to be a great score, who never set out to like break Kareem abdul Jabbar's record, who never really like claimed or considered himself a score to go and break the all time points record in the NBA is crazy. And where it took me as like to think about how it was done. Longevity. He's still after your thirty points a game and your twenty. So when you think about long the just the longevity and what Brian has done.
Since Brian has been in the NBA, the brand of basketball has changed four different times you talk and two big um three pointers, like, remember bron came into the
league of point guard today he's a four. Yeah, he still could play, but you get like he's a four and so like to think of all of those changes and number one to be right at the top of the league no matter what the change was, that in itself it is crazy to be dubbed the chosen one in eighth grade, to be dubbed the chosen one, and like to exceed what everyone thought you'd be and they thought you'd actually be the one, and to exceed that,
that's crazy. You think of the makeup of this man, who is a kid from acron Ohio and everything that went into making up that human being. Because even more important, um than his skill, and it's the work ethic, is the dedication, the commitment to excellence, to greatness because you that's in all of life. Though, like when you actually think about the record and then you think about Lebron James as an entire entity, it actually makes sense that that guy would do that because you look at the
greatness in all the other areas. You don't reach that level of greatness just by being good on the basketball court or being great on the basketball court. Like, there's so many other things that goes into that. And so let's go back to the makeup of the person, back
to acron Ohio. Shout out to on Glow raising the man that she did and everyone that had a hand in that, a hand in that Frankie Singer everyone, but just a week ago, a week and a half ago, we watched the Black Man blame single mothers, single black mothers for some ignorance. So let's give a single black mother some credit for greatness. How beautiful is that? How
powerful is that? So when I think about this record and the reason, I just wanted to come share my thoughts because it's so much bigger than just Lebron James breaking the scoring record, everything that it embodies. Last night almost like just sitting there watching almost brought tears of eyes.
I'm sure if I if I was in a tennis it would have because everything that that moment represents, on top of just being happy for my brother, most importantly just being happy for my brother, I'm not sure will ever like we'll see that record broken in our lifetime again, to be dubbed at from the beginning and exceeded. Man, this is all about Lebron James. I'm not even gonna mention any other basketball players or some comparison. Stop them,
they're really irrelevant. Let's just appreciate greatness, excellence just for what it is, not that he got to be compared to this guy, compared to that guy. But let's just go because I'm sure if we I didn't turn on the TV this morning, but I'm sure the headline was all is he to greatest now or not? Like I can see it from a mile away. I don't even have to watch it to know, like, let's just stop with it and let's appreciate what we had an opportunity
to witness greatness and excellence at every level. You just gotta appreciate it. So I wanted to come on here and just share my appreciation for the moment, share my happiness and my love for my brother. Not sure there will ever be another Lebron James. Appreciate him why he's still doing it at the level he's doing to that appreciate it. I can appreciate it, quite frankly. Most people
don't appreciate greatness because they don't understand greatness. They don't understand the work that it takes to be great, So you don't have an appreciation for it. Because at the end of the day, in the world and anything that we do, you you don't know what you don't know. You just don't know. And so I understand when all of Hayden comes because you just don't know what you don't know. Quite frankly, I wasn't a huge Lebron fan
growing up. I was actually a huge I'm not gonna talk about any other players mentioned any names, but I wasn't a huge Lebron fan once I actually saw, like the commitment, the dedication, what he's putting his body through, the how in shape he's he is, lock how he can lock in on the thing, how he can control the entire game for forty eight minutes on both sides of the ball, the level that he's playing at and playing at. Asked him an NBA Finals, I just was
able to appreciate the greatness. So I know it didn't take me to be a huge Lebron fan growing up, but like I can appreciate the greatness and having an opportunity to see that up close, it just gave me a whole different appreciation. You want to talk how great Lebron is, because I'm not gonna mention anyone else's name on Lebron's moment. I remember Lebron playing against US NBA Finals average thirty six thirty eight points, and the job
defensively was done great on him. He's still average thirty six points thirty eight points in the series, but the job done defensively was great on him and lead to an incredible accolade. That's how great Lebron James were though. That's how great he was. That's how great he is. Still average thirty six or thirty eight, and I can tell you I was in the game. The job done on him defensively was incredible, well deserved. But that's how
great he is. We got all got a chance to to witness that, and still how the opportunity to appreciate it. Why you can, It's not certain we'll ever see that again in life. Much love to my brother. I can go on and on about this, but I really just wanted to share some thoughts. Shout out to the hater. I know they're still making comparisons, but your comparison does not even matter. It actually doesn't even matter. Everything that's been done around this scoring title to uplift other people.
It's incredible. Lebron James biggest mistake he's made in his career the decision and how it was played out and blah blah blah did two things. Le Bron's biggest mistake. Number one, raise, like I said, two million dollars for the Boys and Girls Club. It's incredible. The second mistake and probably the biggest mistake, or the biggest outcome, I should say of the mistake was created NBA free agency as we know it today. One of the most exciting
times in the NBA season is NBA free agency. His biggest mistake created that much loved, my brother, Incredible, what you've done. I have a huge appreciation for having an opportunity to play in an error. That's the Lebron James error, one of the greatest errors in in sports history. Like the things that we've gotten to see in this Arab basketball is crazy. What we've gotten to see, madness, much love and appreciation, my brother. We're gonna celebrate it like
we should like it properly should be done. And by the way, Lebron James is the all time leading scoring Now he may get an invite on the Draymond Green Show. That's a rap from this episode. Peace p
