What's up, everybody? Welcome back to the Trademond Green Show. As always, our top of the show is here on Amazon m so wherever you're listening or watching the show,

thank you. Let's get straight into winning. Also for our subscribers out there, you would be able to check this out anytime you want wherever you get your podcast. But let's get right into it. Doves was on a five game win streak. I think and have dropped the last two on the road. Go figure the road. Road Wolves continue A commonly ask question is why can't you guys win on the road? And a common answer I want to give a give is if I knew that, don't

you think I would correct that? Quite frankly, I think I think, and I've said this before, I think winning on the road requires an incredible amount of mental strength. And it's not just one guy's mental strength. It's not two guys or a few guys. It's a collective mental strength as a team. And quite frankly, it just seems that we have not reached that as a team to be as great as we are at home and as bad as we are on the road, Like it just

does not make sense. Like it's like fragileness one on one, so one oh one. So um, it's it's weird, man, It's weird. And it's like every time you feel like you're taking that next step, it's kind of two steps back. Um, Like even the Laker game, we didn't shoot particularly well, but I didn't think we were awful, and yeah, you lose, and then last night just kind of is what it is. Um. You know, in this league you have to beat the teams that you're supposed to be And Shay had a

great game Um, Giddy had a great game. Uh, lou Dort was there there? What lou Dort does? Uh? You know they played really well. You gotta get those guys from Jaylen Williams, the bigger Jaylen Williams had a really good game. Uh, Dario played well off the bench. So you just gotta give guys credit. They made plays. It's very weird games from some things that I've never seen before in my life. Um, but yeah, they won, and

the road struggles continue. It's been great to have Steff back the last two games though, you know, and when when you get such a big force back, um, it does take time, like filling back in around that and kind of filling your way through it and saying that not so sure because it should have equaled in two losses, especially as great as he's been playing in his return. Um,

it's unfortunate. It's very frustrating, frustrating to say the least, um, you know, in such a stacked Western Conference log jam right where we stand. You know, like I said, you just really got to win the game games that you're supposed to win, and quite frankly, we've dropped the ball. So it's town to get that to right that right tomorrow night in Memphis, as I sit in my Memphis Hotel room. Now, let's discuss Memphis. The NBA stretched run

Never never want to see anyone get injured. That's just you know. I always tell people like, like I've seen fast cheer when someone get injured and

the different things of that nature. You live those injuries every day, like you don't leave a basketball court, and like that injury that you have, it's just left on the basketball court and you can't play like you live that every single day, getting up off the couch, getting in and out of a car, going to use the restroom, getting in and out of bed. You live. He would live that Achilles injury every single day, and I don't wish that on anyone. So speedy recovery to Brandon Clark.

You know, he's very promising young player. Hate to be this guy, but I'm happy he secured his back. And you know, you don't have that worry on your head like I can only imagine what's going through his mind had he not going ahead and signed his extension. So that is a silver lining that you don't have that pressure to try to fix it right away. Like no, you can go through the proper rehab process and get back strong as possible so it doesn't happen again. And so,

like I said, speedy recovery to Brandon Clark. In related news to Memphis, the same day, Dylan Brooks was suspended for a game for technical files. When it rains, it pours, and in related news, I think the same day, the idiot says something about me and his article which I thought was very interesting. Raymond Ritter, best PR guy in the NBA, happens to work for Dubs. He sent me this thing and he's like, hey man, this this writer

reached out. He reached out, he said, Dylan Brooks said this about you, and he give me you a chance to respond. Quite frankly, if I was gonna respond, it's going to be right here on the Draymond Green Show. But I just wasn't really even sure when when I received that, like if it was worth a response. What I will say is this idiot said, I don't know what Draymond does out there. A matter of fact, let me run this back. He said, I don't like Draymond at all. You don't know me. That's number one. I

just don't like Golden State. I quite frankly wouldn't like a team that beats me all the time either. That's something too, I don't want. I don't like anything to do with them. Quite frankly, you were a little kid in high school watching US win championships. Should be happy that you even witnessed that, or maybe college. But you get the point. You're a fan, so that's crazy. Draymond talks a lot. I think if you have four you talk a lot. Now, so if you have four rings,

sure you talk a lot more. For All Stars, you probably talk a bit more. Defensive Player of the Year for damn, sure would talk more. Need I say more too? Olympic gold medals, you definitely would be talking because that would mean you beat Team USA and we all know how that go. So, okay, understand that that Okay got it gets away with a lot too. What exactly do I get away with? I have fifteen texts, one less than your dumb ass. Okay, great, his game is cool.

If you ever wondered why the Memphis Grizzlies is not ready to compete for a championship. Look no further than this idiot right here. They're actually depending on this guy to help them win a championship, and he says his game is cool. Quite frankly, that just shows how little you know about basketball. And that's where it gets really interesting, because it's one thing for a fan to say that. Quite frankly, I expect them to. Most of them don't

really understand the game. You have the understanding of like the the Your level of understanding the game of basketball is at a fan level. And yet y'all you running around talking about a dynasty. The dynasty starts after you, not with you. That's just a fact. I know dynasty like players and they aren't clowns. That doesn't work when building the dynasty. Taken from me, I actually know clowns don't work building a dynasty. My man, so you know, he plays with heart, knows the ins and outs of

the defense. Who want to be quite frank I made the ins and outs of our defense like you know, kind of like a middle linebacker. You know, improvise, read the situation and react. You follow the stay at home in a strong side corner, and you follow. You should go there. You follow that guy should tract the box. I don't do that. That's where you went wrong. But quite frankly, you have the level of understanding of a fan of the game of basketball. Some fans have a

deeper understanding before the majority. That level of understanding, it isn't the same. It's kind of like a lot of media. It's very lazy. It's very, very, very lazy. So I guess that's why they like him over there. Oh, I'm trying to figure out why they like you in Memphis, or do they like you in Memphis? That's a better question. I'm not sure your teammates like you. Doesn't leave the one and then, I mean, we run won some regular season games. But I can tell you why they like

me over there. When you contribute in the way that I contribute. I have contributed to four championships, they tend to like you because, quite frankly, four championships. There's four four NBA organizations to have the amount of championships I have. That's why they like me over there, not including the organization that I've won my four with. That's why they like me though. Um kid, So next time you speak

up on me, you should do some fact checking. Next time you speak up on me, you should do some soul searching. Next time you speak up on me. I hope you are in a better situation than you and now were the guys you play with actually enjoy playing with you because they actually think you're contributing to winning. Because it ain't happening right now. Chap Ah, You're not a chap You're a clown. It ain't happening for you.

In other news, JJ Reddick and Kendrick Perkins, the new media member JJ Reddick and Kendrick Perkins had a little back and forth phone first Take the other day. Now, quite frankly, I didn't see it, but I saw the clip on Twitter, and I thought it was very interesting. I thought it was very interesting because of a few reasons. Number One, it was over the MVP debate, which I think is a very interesting debate, which I also think no one has solidified yet. I think Jo Joker is

right there in a running. I think Janice is right there in the running. I think Joe Ell is right there in the running. I think if it's ever been as close a race. It's this year race has been extremely close, and I think it's still to be decided.

I don't think we're sixty six games, and I'm not sure how many games in those teams are there Somewhere between sixty three and sixty seven or sixty eight, I'm sure, and even at that number of games for those of you who don't know, he played eighty two games in the NBA, even at that amount of games, I am still not sure that the MVP race has been decided. Who's also right up in that race is Jason Tatum. I know, quite frankly he's not placed there a bunch,

but Harris, why Jason Tatum is in that race? For me, Jason Tatum's performance has been absolutely incredible. What you must understand is and the reason like why you can't always just pay attention to stats. Jason Tatum could average easily six or eight more points a game. He's that good number one, but number two Jason Tatum has done less to do more. What do you mean by that, Draymond Well,

I'll tell you what I mean by that. Jason Tatum has done less so that Jalen Brown can do more for the ultimate good of the team so that they don't go through what they went through last year was, which is getting to an NBA Finals and losing again. Those guys, those guys have a goal of coming out on top winning the championship. And I personally can tell you I can look at it and tell I also know this from personal relationship. But screw the personal relationship.

I can spot it from a mile away. Jason Tatum has one goal and it's to win an NBA championship. I can tell. I can see it. I can see it in this demeanor. I can see it in this game. He's trying harder on the defensive end as he picked up last year. He's trying harder to make plays for guys as he started constowed improvement last year. But I think he's taken an even bigger step back this year

to take a much larger step forward. And it's the most valuable player, right, It's that not valuable because again, if he averaged the six more points, what would people say. Would they say, Man, it's JT because he averaging thirty six and not thirty. It's quite ridiculous when you think about it, that you can't take a step back and see man, everything this guy's doing, he's still averaging thirty points, five or six assists or whatnot five assists, I think

probably eight rebounds. But quite frankly, I didn't check his stats because I don't need to check his stats because my whole point is actually does not matter. I just say to the voters out there and looking at the end MVP race, I'm not saying Jason Tatum is the MVP. I'm saying, and looking at the MVP race, give Jason Tatum more respect, respect the step back, to take the step forward a little more because it's very valuable, and

that's the name of the world, the most valuable player. So, as I was saying, I think this race will still continue to go down to the wire. I don't think it's decided. The whole stat padding thing, accusations that that Joker has been facing, I think it's ridiculous. I think I think if you were going to make those about Joker, you had to make those about Russ when Russ was

averaging triple double. I have tripled up after the triple double, And quite frankly, even if you were going to make those about Russ, I quite frankly don't care because you know how good you have to be to stat padding get a triple double. Like you still have to be very good to stat pad and get a triple double. So like this whole narrative of like, oh these guys are stat pattern this like if you stat padded, you still wouldn't get a triple double. It's not easy to

get a triple double stat pattern not. You gotta be very very very good to stat padding get a triple double, and most importantly winning. That's the kicker. You can't win like twenty nine games in a row, thirty games in a row. Again, I didn't check the stats because quite frankly, I don't care, but you can't win that many games in a row getting a triple double and only be padding and stats like comments sense would say that doesn't

make sense because how do you just keep winning? Like at some point you're stat pattern and thirty I say, calling thirty wins. At some point your stat pattern and thirty games, it's going to catch up to you, like at some point, like you trying to get an assist, like, trust me, I see jokers stat lines often there's oftentimes wherehood have ten or eleven assists. So if he's stat padding there at some point you chasing that tenth to eleven assist is going to cost y'all a game. It hasn't,

so the whole narrative. And again you're speaking to someone who just last week had Gilbert Arenas on the show and we were discussing Europeans not catching the same flat for American players for winning the championship. So understand that this is no narrative. Understand that this is no bias. Understand that these are straight facts, and understand that the stat padding narrative, it's lazy. The stat padd narrative is I don't have anything else to talk about, anything else

to say. I need to say something. It's lazy. Just dissect the game, dissect what Joker doing, because I'll tell you what. If I go sit and really watch the game, I'll dissect the game for you. Maybe I'll do that soon.

I'm gonna watch a Denver Nugget game and I'm gonna dissect the game, and we're gonna do it right here on the Drapemond Green Show, and I'm gonna tell you if Joker is stat pattern or not, and if in fact, he is, you gotta be so good to stat bad and win and get them numbers that it don't really even matter. Sitting that number one in the West, thirty games in a row, in a triple double, and they said, this, man, it's stat padding. If that ain't a reach, if I've

ever seen one before in my life. So I'm gonna I'm not gonna keep going on and on about this because you get my point. But let's stop being lazy. Let's do the job. These people are actually interested in. What if you have a platform and you go on TV, they're actually interested in what you have to say. Take more pride in what you do, and stop being lazy at this job. There's actually a world that you actually can stop being lazy and go dissect these basketball games.

I speak. I speak on fans not totally understanding the game because I try to do all I can to help them better understand the game. So let's do that. They're looking for it, they need it. It'll only help our game. But in order to help our game, you gotta know what you're talking about. And a lot of times in this media, not the new media, but in this media, a lot of times I'll be looking and I notice a lot of y'all don't know what y'all talking about. So that's your last pass. We got to

start dissecting these games. Get off the bench. Bet the NBA with FanDuel, America's number one sports book Right now. FanDuel's given new customers ten times your first bet in bonus bets. So before we get out of here, we have to talk about the biggest news in the NBA.

I have sat back and watched UM. I mean, plenty of people speak up on this situation, tons of difference, opions, and quite frankly, I have a few thoughts about it. Um Number one is it's unfortunate to see jaw on Instagram live holding a gun in a club like I really, I quite frankly don't understand why. Like, But on the flip side, I ask for grace and being in this situation,

being in this position that we're in. Oftentimes, when guys make the mistakes, you see people saying, oh, man, get rid of them, like take their money away, do this, to do that. But when common folks make the same mistakes or worse, people don't run to their jobs saying you should take their livelihood away, you should take how they feed their children away. And so I just ask for that same grace, not only for basketball players but for people in general, because it's really something that are

in the world that we live in. We struggle with it dramatically. We're so fast to cast doubt, I'm sorry to cast judgment, and very slow to cast out some grace. And sometimes you just need that, you know. Sometimes you you turn on something, you pick up your phone, and you see all of these things about what should happen to you, and they're all bad, and sometimes you just need that grace because and the reality is we all

make mistakes, and so that's one side of it. It's just grace, like having grace, and it's not even necessarily that it's this incident in particular. This is just overall about having grace, having some grace. Quite frankly, um guns in this country has been a big issue. We know the history, we know all the things that's going on. It's been a big issue and we can't ignore that.

And so being in the position that Job morenz in, which is an amazing position, you do have to be more careful and you do have to understand the position that you're in and understand what that comes with. Job clearly didn't do a good job of that. When I look at this situation and I look at me, who I am and the things that I've gone through in my life. My biggest regret in the NBA is this.

I know most people will think it's being suspended from Game five of the NBA Finals, and that's not quite it. It has something to do with being suspended from Game five of the NBA Finals, but being spending from Game five is not my biggest regret. My biggest regret was giving those that say things about me that don't know me but think they do because they watch you on a TV screen, watch you play basketball. They say these things about you as if they know you, and they

don't know you from a can of pain. And my biggest regret was putting myself in a position to be suspended from Game five and allowing them to say, See, I told you, I told you he can't control this temper. I told you he was I told you he was a bad person. Like people call me a bad person, I think I'm an incredibly great person. I told you you can't trust him. I told you this. I told you that, I told you this. That was my biggest regret.

I hope when Jah looks back at this situation down the line, he learns to not put himself in situations that people can say I told you so. If you rewind back to the last couple of weeks, there was a story about the Indiana Pacers and a laser or some being, and then there was also a story recently as a last week about a seventeen year old job getting into it with a seventeen year old punching him or something and having a gun in his waist. Banners both of those stories, there was no way to confirm

that there was a gun involved. You just put yourself in a position to where they can say, see, I told you he had a gun. I told you so. And that sucks. That sucks because pretty much everything that's been said about you, you validated almost and allowed people to say it. And you're now guilty until proven innocent. And that sucks because quite frankly, the court of public opinion, you are guilty until proven innocent, and even once you're

proven innocent in certain situations. Not sure that this will be that situation, but in certain situations, even when you're proven innocent, no one cares. And as loud and as big as it showed up, it quietly passed through the bottom when you're proven innocent, because that's the world that we live in. I saw a lot of slander about Team Rent, an African American man who raised a young six successful African American son. I saw a lot of

slander Team Ran. It is ridiculous. Is this is that as if he did not raise a successful son, a successful young man, there are shots taken on him as a father. He did his job, He raised a successful young man black man in America. Catch that caveat a successful young black man in America. He did his job, gives a father himself. GI's a grown man who makes a bunch of money. That adds and even another layer because we all know how brad winners work. We all

know that thing. So that asn't even another layer. What you hope that tea's pulling him aside, saying John, stop this, stop that. Don't like what is this? What is that? Absolutely, and just like I'm not sure that he hasn't. None of you who's taken shots at him as a father who's raised a successful young man aren't sure he hasn't either. You'd hope so. But quite frankly, can he control a

grown man raise them or not? You ask yourself the question, can your dad control everything you do as a grown man? I'd be willing to bet the answer is no. So the fact that this man is getting so much slander and all he did was raised a successful young black man, is baffling to me. It's given very lavarballish. Are they outspoken, yeah? Are they in front of the camera, Yeah, they should be. They did the unthinkable, They raised successful young black men

in America. So I don't really agree with the slander of t Morett. I think it's ridiculous. Again, Jahs are grown man. Job makes his own decisions, and Joe got to stand on those decisions. I'm not going to get on here and say that, ain't you Jah like people getting on TV that ain't you as if they know him? Why is it not him? Because he plays basketball. You

don't know him. You don't know if that's him. And I'm not going to say that because when people going and said, they're almost saying in a soft manner, like you soft you ain't like that? But how do you know? Because you don't know him? What I will says John can't be him and be what he's capable of being, which is possibly the face of the NBA, the biggest global brand, one of the biggest global brands. Knowing the man you got a chance to be the face of that,

that's insane, it's incredible. But you can't do it like that. You can't do that putting the NBA in tough spots because nothing happened with the patients thing, nothing really happened with the thing coming out about the kid, and then the same day you show the gun. Hey, everybody, you remember what they were saying about me. Look, come on, but I am not here the past judgment because I have made mistakes, I will make more mistakes. I am not going to get on here and ask for this

man livelihood to be taken. I am not going to get on here and do any of that. I'm gonna get on here and I'm gonna ask for grace, and I'm gonna say, if that is what you want job, to be the face of the NBA, possibly to be a star, to build dynasties, to do all the things that you spoke about doing. You can't do it that way. That ain't gonna work. Just gotta shoe from Nike. That ain't gonna work. Kids buy shoes. Kids, shoes are bought for kids. Parents buy shoes for their children, but sneaker

cells are driven by children. Those two things don't go together. So you have to make a decision of what it's going to be. The decision is up to job, nobody else. The decisions up the job, and I pray that he learned from it. So I feel like this is one of those things that it's just bad enough where he'll get through it and he'll be fine. But it's just enough to make you make a decision, to make you say I'm choosing this path for that path. It's just enough.

It's just enough. But I tell you what, you can't be the face of the NBA putting it, putting the NBA in harm's way. You can't be the face of the NBA putting the NBA in a tough spot. Lebron James, don't put the NBA in a tough spot. Steph Curry, don't put the NBA in the tough spot. The list goes on and on. You cannot be the face putting the NBA in a tough spot. Understand that, and understand the privilege that it is to be the face of the NBA. To even like for that to even be

a possibility, it's incredible, and it's being thrown away. A team competed at a championship level, number two seed in the West, it's being thrown away. It's hard to win championships. I told y'all, you don't just win championships because your roster looked like you should or could. So many things have to go right when the pressure is on you, all of a sudden, the eyes are on you and you're expected to do well, What do you do that all goes into winning championships. That's a big part of

winning championships. So all being thrown away right now, you don't get these opportunities. Often make the right choices. Take advantage of the opportunity because you do not know if it's coming back around. Injuries happen, trades happen, ownership groups change, Take advantage of it when you got it. It's rapt from this episode of the Draymond Green Show. Peace
