I'm excited as hell to have him on the show. I know y'all have seen a few episodes, so he here. Now you are asked for a shout out to the fans. I told you all for the last three and a half years, we always want to give you fans, you avid listeners, subscribers.

You feel I'm saying, I feel like we come from the same claw and like I ain't too many people, I feel like I can sit kick it with and talk to and like get real honesty. So man, I appreciate, I appreciate the fans for pushing it, but I appreciate.

You've been doing this and like this is gonna give me a cool chance to like really talk hoop and learn and listen and you know, just have a good time.

One thousand percent. Now we'll definitely be talking hoop and a few more things here and there. So you know, I think when we did those episodes this summer, like you can just feel when the chemistry and it's like the basketball court, as you know, when you hit it off, when the chemistry is right, you can just feel it when you got that sauce.

And I think the episodes that we did, we can feel that.

And then the last time, you know, we got together, it was a go metal game.

Like? Brother, that experience, that experience was crazy, man, because it had to be number one. Walking into that gym. I've been talking. I've been actually talking about this for years. And Team USA beating friends in France.

Yes, because after after the twenty twenty.

Olympics, which happened in twenty twenty one, you just knew, like they coming back. It's in their home terms. They you know, they beat us in the uh you know, the the World Cup, World Cup.

Yeah, you know, they feeling themselves.

So you just knew, like that's how it's going to shake out, and for it to shake out that way, like regardless if I was playing or not, to walk in that gym.

When I walked in that gym, like you could just feel the energy like it was buzzing.

It was crazy, right, you know.

We had our seat and like people shouting out to me like, oh, Traymond, you really came here, Like.

You come here, You're real, you know.

But honestly, obviously that was a big deal and I had a lot of fun with it and going to mess with Rudie. At the end of the day, I would have never flown that far to go talk trash. It was crazy because are a good friend of ours who we actually vacation with every summer. Pr It was his fiftieth and he was doing it in the south of France, so we were going to go over there after you anyway. But I said to my wife, I'm like, man, I

I'm going. And so we went. And when we.

Walked in, as the guy started to see me over there and make eye contact, you could see them like talking like yo, look at him over there like and as a two time.

Olympic gold medalist, I felt a part of what was going on.

And to see them go down Serbia playing great, hitting all the shots they can hit, and just about I mean, excuse me, I said, Serbia friends hitting all the shots that they were hiding and and and to just take over that game when they had to take over the game, and then for Steph to do what Steph did.

Like bro.

For me personally, I've seen just about every every big shot he can hit. I've seen like everyone from in his NBA. I've been there, so to be there for that moment, I think the most fun I had in watching that moment, as beautiful as a moment as it was, the most fun that I had was watching the.

Guys that be on the wrong side of that moment and.

Enjoy Oh yeah, yeah, that was so special.

Man, Oh my god.

He was like the face like look at them like and then you could see like and after I'm telling you, like the after party, all of that, every one of them.

I talked to came up to me. It was like, Yo, that's crazy, Like, yeah, I can't believe that man came up to me and talk to me about stuff for forty five minutes straight.

That's crazy.

Like they were all so in awe of him and man like to go to war with him against all of those guys for all these years and then just to see that and witness that, yeah, and then him hit the.

And then to catch that picture maybe that picture need to.

In the background and need to go right.

It's like also like you walking in like I want to know what it because you described it like you you an Olympian walking into the Dream Team gold medal game. They shouting you out, you know what I mean. It's like, man, that's gotta feel crazy too. Then to put them the rest in France, you know what I mean.

Bro, it felt it felt incredible, like right, so patriotic it was.

It was.

It was amazing, man, to put those boys.

Moment that I wasn't involved in.

Obviously went in the championship winning the gold medal myself will take president, but my favorite sport. And I've been to like some incredible sports events.

Bro.

I've seen you saying, both break the record in Brazil. I seen theymar win gold in Brazil, like at the Olympics. I seen Michael Fels break the record. I've seen Katie the Deki break records like I've seen.

Some more Biles.

I've seen all of these incredible events, super Bowls, multiple Super Bowls.

Best sporting event My favorite sporting moment.

Of my life that I wasn't a part of walking in that gym unbelievable.

Uh hell no, man, I ain't bet nothing. I ain't really been, you know, I've been to a couple of finals. Uh, the Lakers, I think it was Game five when they beat Philly. H Yeah, you know, because I was like my second year in the league, I wanted to see that. I think that's the game Derek Fisher got hot. But after the game, it was so crazy because you know, the Laker fans was woo. It was hooping and holler and bro all all the way across the arena.

You here, crack, they molly, they molly watching out there. The Philly fans, Bro, they got on.

Them after that championship. Them Laker fans were celebrating them. Philly fans was knocking them out going.

That's crazy.

And then the only other one, Like, as a fan, I would say probably the most incredible ship I seen was when I went to Game seven.

Uh, when y'all lost to Lebron. That's crazy. That was no reason to bring out a house. I'm just saying, Bro, I ain't never been in the series. I'm a Raider man, I'm a Raider fan right now.

Hey, I do want to know, like, besides that, I want to know what you and Steph talked about after that France moment. I know y'all talked about this game, Bro, what what was he saying?

We actually did speak about it, and it's one of those things where he just gave you, like the man. It was crazy, you know, man, unbelieva. It's one of those things, right, he ain't give you any word. It's because he was he was he was doing it facts. It was just like, man, I'm like, bro, that was unbelievable, Like I know right, Like if I talk to him about it today, it's still like the same reaction of like.

He grab a ball, he walk up to the to the half court line,

Like there's no chance he was missing that shot. And that's just that gene he got like in.

Like KD knew everybody in the world knew he wanted to take that shot.

And when he passed the ball to KD, KD knew too.

You see, k KD didn't look anywhere else, he didn't think about KD threw him.

Everybody in the world knew that he was supposed to take that shot. When he took that shot, and that is the thing that Steph Curry has that.

Has he he unlike any other guys.

He's the all time great bronze we know, bron Like, that's the thing that Steph has. That's the thing that was Steph was struggling all Olympics. That's why you still have him on the floor those last few days, because you know it's.

We had a great time, but it was also you know what was great about it, and we got off to a great start because with and speaking of Clay, with Clay leaving and starting this training camp they're in Hawaii, it almost felt like the ark of a new thing, you know what I'm saying, Like doing something different, not starting training camp in San Francisco how we always do. It's a different thing. Everybody had their families out there, so you're getting to know people and to know the

And we could not have asked for a better training camp, a better preseason than we had. And so speaking of being undefeated in preseason, what happens.

Preseason game, but what it is, it's like when you've done it as many times as we've done it, there's a filler. Yeah, And you know what I'm saying, I'm not saying we're gonna go win a championship, but I am saying, don't let us win another fucking championship.

That you don't let that happen.

I also think we got a lot of depth. Yeah, a lot of depth. We got a lot of guys.

Versatility, versatility, So defensive versatility too. You got smart.

You got a lot of dudes who can cover ground, and then you got smart defenders. And some and people who are who understand know where to be to make shit happen.

Fact I'm getting off right, bro, they said start they start crossfireing. I was sitting in the ditch, bro and all the bullets. I couldn't move. I was slaying there for thirty minutes. You know what I mean? We went to the beach. We kicked it. We ain't go out like that. Yeah, and he was locked in, Bro, we went to the beach. We kicked it. You know.

Also, Steve, he han't give us now one day off in Hawaii, so wow, Yeah, we ain't get a day off.

But it was cool. You know.

We was done by one pm, so you finished practice by one pm. You got the rest of the day in Hawaii. No complaints from me, zero complaints for me. But yeah, Steve, Steve, Steve O. Ain't give us a day off in Hawaii, But it's all good. If we had to do it all over again, no days off, send me, but take me back to Hawaii and we could do it the same way.

I feel blessed man, I feel lucky. I feel I'm excited, I feel appreciative, I feel open to having I feel open to enjoying basketball, enjoying the season, enjoying the grind. My body feel great, my mind is great, like my drive is great. Yeah, in good shape. Like, man, I feel incredible. I have not felt this good coming into a camp. I've only felt this good coming into a camp out of like an Olympic year.

Yeah, I feel incredible. I'm so excited.

This year for me is all about just just taking it all in man like, embracing these moments with my teammates because I'm like, man, last couple of years, I just stopped really enjoying it and it's just been hard, like like this season just and I'm like, nah, man, let me let me enjoy this again. Like I'm playing basketball for living. I have loved this since I was five years old, Like, let me, let me enjoy this.

And so that's where I'm at. Man, I feel great.

And then it does not help to feel like you got a chance going into the season, you know what I'm saying, Like that that also changes things for me, But man, I feel great. It's it's kind of put me in a place of like you know, I've been saying all this time, like yo, two years is it shit? It kind of put me in a place you feel I'm telling you two years you know what it is, bro, It's show rebirth, And I wanted to tell you this.

Other dudes in the league look up to you, you know what I mean.

You're in thirteen now, so you this your rose ceremony, right, And I remember like when I was in my thirteen year, I was kind of hurting shit for all the young dudes no matter where they play, Like we got to realize that they fuck with you, you know what I mean. So it's a responsibility, you know what I mean, for you to enjoy it, for you to enjoy the game and know that these dudes.

You feel what I'm saying of you, and they whatever they gonna do to you is because what they've learned.

So keep that in mind.

You feel what I'm saying is like your reverend, you know everything for your team, but like every time you match up these young dudes, they look up to you.

I was actually standing at the free throw line talking to him for the game, I mean during the game, and he was like, Man, I'm a big fans, right mind, you remember me? And I actually remember, like I actually remember him to see him having those moments though, like getting off like by the way that kid can shoot the piss.

Off the ball. To see him having that moment.

Man, like Steph is an icon, like and see him like like Steph changed the.

Game of basketball.

And to see that kid like had that moment and start crying and like.

But that's shute, Steph Curry.

It's like to these kids like kind of like mjst to us, like, like he changed the game of basketball. He changed how we look at the game. To see him have that moment, man, it was so special and I'm happy he had that moment. I will tell him, that's so great, that's incredible you had that moment. Always appreciate Steph the way you appreciate him, because you should always get that respect. But now you had that moment. Now you need to pick him up ninety four feet

I was like, wow, like I like that.

I told Okay, I told Hardy answering his old Jesus, I said, I like young fella. He ain't backing down at all. He talking, He's whooping. God's respect that. So for him, Like you had that moment with Steph, that's incredible. You want to earne yourself a two way, which means you're gonna be up in the NBA something.

You face Steph Curry against check checkish Joe checkis Jaffe. If he drop you, if he hit three's on you, that's Steph Curry. He's supposed to do that to you.

But if.

You play well, if you give him a little bit of a hard time. And again, this ain't just quincy with Steph. This is all these young guys. You are supposed to get dominated by the guys who've been doing it that you grew up with. But you have a right, you have a responsibility to compete with them like never before. It's going from it's going from Cat to Julius the thing that gets you over the Hunt. I don't think that Cat was your number one issue, So I don't think that's the thing to get you over to Hunt. I just think ultimately the timber was, and Tim Connelly is one of the better gems in the NBA. I just think Tim Connley know like, we can come back with the same team and it's still not going to be enough. So we do have to try something, you know. And I feel like that's kind of where Minnesota was.

But in saying that, you know, I think, but I do think the sleeper in this is de Vincenzo, No he is, he's a sleeper in there, somebody like that. They didn't have none of that at all.

Last Like last year was just really depending on how An't play and Cat you know, showing up, Rudy showing up, and then everybody else would have a game or two. But they didn't have like somebody was just a spark, you know what I mean, like a like a scoring spark, a spark like what an attitude too from guard play.

Well for sure, and I think Dante can be that and Dante will be that. But again, I still think it boss down to their number one problem that they had. It's still the number one problem that they have. So until you correct the number one issue that you have, I know Dante is great. I think that's incredible. I et think Julius can come out and play great. But until you correct the number one issue that you have, you keep doing what you're doing, You're gonna keep getting what you're getting.

And it looked like the Kings is starting to upgrade, you know, It's looked like they building, you know, the team and try and catch on after y'all beat them in the playoffs.

And Damar how you feel about how you feel about the Kings.

I like, I like obviously Damars. You know, twenty three plus thousand points in this league. Like was what I was saying, hall of famer for sure. Anytime you can add a hall of famer, I think you added hall of famer.

I'm saying.

I do think Addam Damar is going to change the way they play a little bit. But Damar is good enough to change the way you play a little bit. Yeah, And that's just kind of what it boils down to.

Like not call it TICKI tack files like you can make it a little tougher on him. And I think that out of tomorrow.

That takes that takes him out.

Yeah, it takes him from being a focal point one because a big, a big part of like their offense depend on him, you know what I mean.

But it depends on him like getting going early every time you get it then you know what I mean.

And so like after a while, if you know, and he's a great player, if if it ain't no flow, then the next thing is like, all right, dann you take over.

Month, you take over, right.

I think Damar coming in and kind of takes some of that pressure off of him having to go so hard, so early, so fast, either pick up files get you know what I mean, like getting into a lot of little murky, little foul trouble and things like that, because he has to be that that focal point of that offense.

So hopefully that'll ease some of that pressure off of him, you feel me. I think it will.

And I think I think like that's kind of one of the things that they have been trying to figure out, you know, in these big games and stuff, and so I think that ultimately takes that away. Now and Adam Lamar and he shot the ball well in the preseason, but he got to keep on shooting him. You know, you lose like having he heard her uh you know with the floor spacing and all that. But again, you replace Herder with DeMar DeRozan any day of the week.

I think Jalen Green, I think I thank him and the big dude, uh saying I don't call him saying geek, say goom.

I like him. I think he's gonna have a breakout year. Uh kay. Cunningham is gonna be an All Star this year. I do. I like that. That's my guy. I think k Cunningham becomes an All Star this year and even winning two games.

You worked on that show, man, I think every time I worked it was just a privilege because you get to be around shot. Usually I would come in and like, if Kenny was on the road, they have me come in. Got the rock with Barkley, who are legend. And if it's no Barkley, there's no us in media, you know. I remember the time I did fill in for Barkley. I put a bunch of snacks in his drawer and I was like going through his drawer during the show, putting.

The snacks out.

But the thing I love about the show is like they encourage you to like try spontaneous shit, you know. And then I say, when we nod on the show, the best part is the camaraderie, getting to know people. You play against these dudes all your life, or you idolize them. Look, you know you idolize them, but you never really get a chance to have a conversation and to see them be normal people. And so like that's where like my joy was. Obviously I beat Shack to

I thought I got a chance to like show my personality and then I did the players only thing.

Too, when they ran that for a year.

So that was hell of cool working with see Web two, seeing c Web and KG like meet for the first time, Like that was that was the craziest shit I had ever seen in my life. Man, when Chris Webber met Kevin Garnett at TNT on the first day of Players Only, So I was like, that was a moment where I was like, damn, Doug. We playing this game for so long, and like we never get a chance to get the people roses that we we battled against, you know what I mean. And so like that was kind of like

And then also like just being in that company was incredible. Oh yeah, you know what I run. I won the Indy five hundred shit, we had the cars. We have to uh.

We was racing kids though on the Indy. On the Indie drag racing. I smoked everybody canas Parker. Everybody brought it.

I think number one, like you said, man, just going on that show as an honor, the way those guys all for Ernie, Chuck, Shaq, Kenny, you know, all the producers, you know them having me on that show, It's just always a special feeling for me. Like there's never not a time that when I go up there, I'm not like, wow, like this is amazing. I can't believe I'm up here.

Gave me a I went and did his podcast and you know, have some food for us.

And like when someone opened up their home to you, that's the ultimate respect, you know what I'm saying, Like Chuck, Chuck always hey, man, where are we going, Like like let's go come with me, You go with me, We're going to get a drink. We're going here, like we're doing this afterwards.

And you know Kenny, Kenny's just always want to have a conversation.

He's teaching you stuff, you know. So, man, I think I think it's in then Ernie the best man in the world. Like you just want to know how you're doing, how your family.

You know what I'm saying.

So just being able to interact with them, to step in their world and go on the stage with those guys. Man, it's always an honor and a pleasure. I'm sick to see the show lead even because it's you know, I always tell you like people talk ship and we all do like, man, shut up shocking, shut up shocking. They don't know what they talking about. Man, we are the reason everybody gets so but hurt about what they be saying is because we all look.

To that show for validation.

And as an NBA player, when you play well, like and you played on that night, like you can't wait to go watch the TNT highlights to see what they're saying about you.

You know, that show is like yeah, when the playoffs come, hey, bro, you gotta make it up. You gotta make it to the highlights.
