The most successful businesses globally are run by high-performing entrepreneurs with habits that ensure high performance and maximum productivity in their work lives.
What propels their successes are the habits they have cultivated and disciplined themselves to stick to throughout their lives.
Your habits have an undeniable connection to your success in business. These habits have a connection with how you think, how you feel, how you respond to positive and negative emotions and occurrences.
As a high-performing professional or business owner, you need to cultivate the right habits to lead you on the path to greater success. The habits you cultivate should also position you as a leader in your business while encouraging others, your employees, and maybe even your competitors, to emulate you.
Though these habits are those of successful entrepreneurs, simply cultivating these habits and doing nothing to evolve and manage your business effectively won’t change your business.
You have to put in the work required to ensure that you achieve your goals. Consistent application of these habits will help you transform your lifestyle and build a better business that sets you on the path to enjoying your ideal business and ideal life.
Applying these 6 habits will help you build an even better business.
1. Get Up Early
The saying ‘the early bird gets the worm’ comes right into perspective. Many successful entrepreneurs have a habit of waking up early. Early in this context means 4.00 a.m. to 5.00 a.m.
Waking up that early helps you get your mind in working order. When the rest of the world is asleep, this time slot helps you focus your mind and have a clear view of your day.
One activity many successful people focus on is having gratitude first thing in the morning. A gratitude journal is a tool used to write down things you are thankful for on a daily or regular basis. Keeping a gratitude journal has several benefits, including:
1. Increased positive emotions.
2. Improved mental health.
3. Better sleep.
4. Increased resilience.
5. Improved relationships.
6. Increased mindfulness.
Overall, keeping a gratitude journal can be a powerful tool for improving your mental and emotional well-being, and enhancing your overall quality of life. Download my complimentary Gratitude Journal exercise by going to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/gratitude/.
The challenge with waking up early is if you are not a “morning person”. To gain this habit, go to bed early and set the alarm to wake up at your desired time. You may hit the snooze button regularly when you start, but you’ll get up earlier most times. You want to strive for 7-8 hours of sleep every night, so adjust accordingly.
Do this until your body gets used to waking up at that time. Eventually, you won’t need to set the alarm because your internal clock will wake you up.
2. Inspire Yourself
Motivation in business is everything. When you feel motivated, you feel inspired to challenge yourself and work twice as hard to achieve your goals.
Inspiration comes in different strokes for many people. You need to focus on what inspires you every day and transform that inspiration and motivation into fuel to push yourself forward.
If podcasts are your thing, go for it. If inspirational quotes or sayings help you get yourself in the right frame of mind, read daily inspirational quotes. If looking at your vision board gets your juices flowing, look at it every day, and maybe even several times throughout the day.

When you inspire yourself, you can align your focus to the task that needs to be done. By doing this, you are building a powerful habit that ensures self-sufficiency and self-reliance.

3. Set Daily Business Goals
The advantages of setting daily business goals in business know no bounds. When you set daily business goals, you are challenging yourself to achieve these goals.
Setting business goals daily helps you improve your productivity and skills. Doing this helps you productively arrange your day and allows you to identify high payoff tasks that need to be completed before the day runs out.
Set daily business goals early in the morning and measure your completion rate at the end of each day to help you build an even better business.
4. Clear Your Inbox
Face it, clutter distracts. Decluttering has been known to provide better focus and improved productivity.
Clutter is now more than just physical clutter in your office. Virtual clutter provides just as many distractions as physical clutter does.
You’ll have emails, invoices, updates, memos, and many other communications in your inbox that can cause clutter in your business. When you leave your inbox full, cluttered, and unattended, you will likely miss important correspondence that will cost you something. Your email inbox is not your to-do list.
Organize, sort, and respond to messages as soon as they come in. This will keep you updated and focused on more important tasks. To make it easier, make a habit of scheduling time blocks around 11:00am and at the end of each day to respond to your email messages, so you aren’t constantly looking at your inbox and letting it distract you. I recommend that you don’t check your emails first thing in the morning as it can get you off schedule right away, and I’m sure you know what I mean. You can also have your assistant, if you have one, read through your emails and delete or handle those they can handle.
5. Manage Your Time
Time management skills have a direct effect on your productivity. When you learn to manage your time effectively, you are creating a habit that helps you build an even better business.
Use time blocks to manage your time and focus on high payoff tasks during the day. Avoid distractions that may cause you to lose your focus and waste valuable hours of the day.
Did you know that some of the most productive people in the world swear by time blocking? Ever heard of Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Michael Hyatt, or Cal Newport? Yep – all time-blockers. They’re squeezing every drop of productivity from their days, and so can you.
Avoid distractions and interruptions that may cause you to lose your focus and waste your valuable hours of the day.
Attacking difficult tasks head-on helps you avoid procrastination and persistent avoidance of completing difficult tasks. When you manage your time effectively, you cultivate a habit that improves your productivity, makes you accountable, and helps you build an even better business.

6. Build Connections
Relationship building is at the forefront of business success. Networking in business is more than talking to people. It is an avenue to share ideas, gain insights, and learn from new and seasoned business professionals alike.
What got you to where you are today, won’t be what will take you to your next level of success. When you work with the right people, you are able to create something better than you would have done were you building alone.
Help other people add value to their business. By doing this, you are building strong connections that help you build an even better business, so you can ultimately enjoy having your ideal business and ideal life. If you want help, reach out to me today to schedule your complimentary consultation.
