This episode features Joonyoung Park, Vice President and Fellow at Seoul-based DigiCAP, discussing that company’s work in ATSC 3.0/NextGen TV. Among other things, he provides an overview of ATSC 3.0 in South Korea and of the new services and forms of monetization it is enabling in that country (note: the standard was adopted by South Korea in 2016 and has been in use there since May 2017); describes how DigiCAP is working to enable ATSC 3.0-powered distance learning during the Coronavirus pandemic; and updates us on the company’s efforts to build its presence in the US market.
